[top]Tips and Strategies

  • All Difficulty trophies stack.
  • First off, there WILL be spoilers in this guide. So if you don't want any story details ruined, steer clear until you have beaten the game. Unless the story is irrelevant to you, in which case, continue on.
  • Patience is a virtue and necessary for success. Take your time, observe and strike when the time is right. You are under no time constraints. So take it easy and relax.
  • On higher difficulties, use your saves wisely. On Rookie difficulty you have unlimited saves. But as the difficulty is ramped up, your amount of saves go down. If your save puts you in a situation that jeopardizes a good ranking, you might as well restart the level.
  • Throughout the game you will most likely amass some notoriety. Notoriety effects how easy or hard future missions will be. For instance, if you are caught on camera, or leave any witnesses, you will be easier to identify in later missions. This can negated by bribing witnesses or getting a new identity
  • Agency assistance refers mostly to your map. More assistance will show where key NPCs are and will show them moving in real time. The downside, is that when you check your map, you will be able to be discovered or killed. So be sure of when to look at it, or just glaze over it for reference.
  • For the love of god, pay attention to what item you have out when subduing an enemy. You may want to sedate them, but accidentally poison them. This is very important if you are going for the Silent Assassin ranking.
  • Hide bodies. You'd think this would be obvious, but you'd be surprised how many players just leave civilian or guard bodies just laying around in what they think is a secure room, only to find out that a guard just stumbled upon a dead body, potentially blowing your cover.
  • Silencers are your friends. If you have access to a silencer for your weapons, use them. They will save you a lot of time and effort.
  • Your syringes are insanely versatile. You get two of each syringe (Poison and Sedative) during each mission (Except for Death of a Showman and Requiem) Not only do your syringes work the same way your Fiber Wire works (as a means of silent subjugation), but they can also be injected into foods, beverages or used on sleeping NPC's.
  • Conceal your weapons when in disguise. Someone might become suspicious if they find an electrician holding two handguns.
  • Use your coins as distractions to get past some pesky guards that are obstructing your path. You have an infinite amount of coins at your disposal. These can also be used to lure guards, or better yet targets, near traps (Such as mines) that you have placed on the ground.
  • If at first you don't succeed, try a different strategy. You have multiple ways of completing your missions, don't be afraid to experiment with what your arsenal and your surroundings. A cunning assassin, is the best assassin.

[top]Roadmap

First Playthrough
  • Start the game on Professional and finish it while getting 5 Silent Assassin ratings. This will unlock the trophy for 1st mission complete , Redemption , Accidents do happen... , all difficulty trophies AND the 5 Silent Assassin trophies (Including Silent Assassin ) in one playthrough. Also while you do that, you most likely unlock all tiers of the Kruger Schmidt store, netting those trophies as well, for a combined total of 14 trophies in the first playthrough
All Firearms collected
  • Now just level select and pick up all collectable weapons. Remember that you must leave the level with the guns for them to be obtained.
Cleanup (For the cleanup you can do these in any order you desire)
  • Start another playthrough on Rookie and go for Notorious . As outlined in the description below, just complete your mission, being as destructive and bloodthirsty as possible. After 3-4 mission, it should pop.
  • Next go through the mission A New Life a few times to gain enough money to upgrade all weapons and complete a mission with said weapons. Just go through A New Life again and complete it in any way you desire. You don't even have to use the weapon to obtain the trophies. This will also net you High Roller
  • Go back to A New Life and go for Special Rating . Please refer to the description on said trophy in the guide down below.
  • And finally go through the mission Curtains Down and try for 47 Kills as this mission has a plentiful amount of enemies to kill. Be sure to complete your objectives first. More info is in the description for the trophy.
  • After all the cleanup is done, the is yours.

Perfect Assassin
Unlock all trophies

Pretty self explanatory. Just collect all 24 other trophies for the Platinum.

[top]
1st Mission Complete
Death of a Show man completed on any difficulty.

Death of a Show Man is the very first mission and is, for all intents and purposes, the tutorial. Here you will learn how to play and learn what is expected of you as the legendary Agent 47.

Note: You do not need to get a specific rating for this mission. Just take out your guns and go on a rampage. After you have successfully killed your target and left the level, this trophy will unlock.

[top]
Rookie Mode Complete
Completed Rookie difficulty.

Rookie difficulty is (obviously) the easiest difficulty that Hitman: Blood Money can offer. Perfect for people who are new to the series, or for those who are about as sneaky as a freight train. Rookie difficulty also has a few advantages:
  • Full Agency Support.
  • Below average AI. The enemies will react slower and have bad aim.
  • Lots of health. Self explanatory.
  • Infinite saves.
  • No notoriety.
You don't have to get a specific rank for each mission. So go in guns blazing if you want this playthrough over quickly.

[top]
Normal Mode Complete
Completed Normal difficulty.

Normal difficulty is just what you think, what a normal Hitman experience is like. There are some differences between Normal and Rookie, but they are just slight differences.
  • Some agency assistance.
  • Regular AI reaction time and aim.
  • 7 saves for each level.
  • High amount of health, but not as much as on Rookie.
Also note that notoriety WILL take effect, so be cautious about leaving any trace of your existence. However, this difficulty isn't too bad if you just use common sense.

[top]
Expert Mode Complete
Completed Expert difficulty.

Expert Mode is for Hitman players who are looking for a challenge. This difficulty isn't as bad as you think. However, you need to be extra cautious and careful at all times. Expert is harder than Normal for the following reasons.
  • Low agency support.
  • AI has fast reactions and have above average aim
  • Fairly low health.
  • 3 saves per level
  • Evidence will now impact your mission rating.

[top]
Professional Mode Complete
Completed Professional difficulty.

Professional Difficulty is the hardest difficulty and rightfully so. Professional takes it one step further than Expert for the listed reasons:
  • Very little agency support
  • VERY low health.
  • AI is now lightning fast and their aim is dead on.
  • No saves allowed for any level.
  • Evidence still impacts rating
  • Silence type 1 might still attract NPCs
  • Your map will only show you and your targets. No guards or civilians will be shown in real time.
This might take some time to get used to, as you are quite weak and very outgunned. But rest assured that you do NOT have to achieve a good ranking throughout this play through to unlock this trophy. Treat it as a mediocre 3rd person shooter instead of a stealth game, and you should be ok.

[top]
Redemption
You can't keep a good man down.

NOTE:This entry WILL have spoilers. Read at your own risk. This has details relating to the final mission: "Requiem".

Accidents Do Happen...
A successful accident kill has been performed.

If you are a seasoned Hitman player or you happen to be a clever Assassin, this should come as you play through the game. All you have to do is kill someone through means of an "Accident". This is rather specific by the games standards, but isn't anything complicated. A good way to pull this off would be to kill someone with an environmental tool (Such as a chandelier or a falling crate)

Not a hard trophy by any means, you'll most likely get this within a half hour of playing.

[top]
47 Kills
A mission has been completed with precisely 47 kills.

This is best done on the level "Curtains Down" as it has a vast amount of enemies to kill. This is also best done on Rookie as you can save as many times as you want. You can do this two ways: you can go for the targets at the start or leave them for the end. But the mission must be completed. Be sure you have a piece of paper to mark down how many kills you have, or just do the best you can to remember.

I recommend going for the targets first as at that point all you have to worry about is the amount of kills. So that's 2 kills. Now just randomly kill 15 more people and save. That should bring it up to 17. Go out and kill 10 more and save. Just repeat the last part until you have 47 and then escape the level.

You could also just kill the targets and then huddle up in the bathroom right at the beginning of the level and just kill anyone who walks in. The problem with this is that, the enemies rush in so quickly, it's a tad difficult to count. Not to mention that you will run out of ammo before you hit 47 kills. But that's just another method if you're having trouble. Just remember to save at a certain amount of kills so you can re-try if you die.

5 Professional Silent Assassins
5 Silent Assassin ratings awarded on the Professional difficulty.

Each difficulty has it's own set of rules for achieving a Silent Assassin ranking. These include:
  • No covers blown
  • No witnesses
  • Never get taped on camera, unless you steal the video tape before leaving the mission
  • Kill only your targets (except if you use an accident)
  • NO ONE must be injured aside from targets and accidental kills
However, Expert and Professional have a few additional rules a long with the restrictions referred above. These include:
  • Leave no evidence, such as your suit and the weapons you have brought with you.
  • No dead or unconscious bodies can be found. Unless the bodies were the result of accidental kills.
With that said, the videos below (which were recorded by playsta4gta) will walk you through each mission on Professional difficulty. I left out Death of a Showman and Requiem due to the fact that Silent Assassin rankings are either impossible are nearly impossible. Please be aware that this was recorded on PC and as such may yield varying results. However, they are still accurate to our version, just as long as your follow it step-by-step.

Silent Assassin
A Silent Assassin rating has been awarded.

This can be done on (potentially) all levels. However Death of a Showman is more frustrating to do it on, so don't waste your time. The quickest place to get this trophy is the mission "Vintage Year". Please refer to the video for "Vintage Year" on the Professional Silent Assassins entry.

[top]
Notorious
47 is the world's most wanted.

A pretty easy Gold trophy. This must be done on a difficulty higher than Rookie as it is not present in that difficulty. Just start up a mission, complete your objective and right before you leave, cause as much chaos as possible. Kill loads of people, leave witnesses, and make it noisy. The notoriety should pile up and you should get this in 3-4 missions.

All Firearms Collected
All firearms collected and displayed in Hideout.

In your hideout you have these pillars that have indents where particular weapons should be. This is where you can check on how many you have obtained. Throughout the game you will pickup weapons from enemies to either hide them or use them for yourself. When you leave a level with the weapons, it is automatically transferred to your hideout. Due note that the weapons obtained in Death Of A Showman do not count . There are 19 collectable guns in the game. These are:
  • Air Rifle
  • Bull .480
  • Custom 1911
  • Desert Eagle
  • Dragunov
  • Elephant Rifle
  • FN-200

Fully Customised Silverballers
All custom Silverballer components purchased.

The Silverballer is Agent 47's signature weapon and is probably the most useful. If you use only one at a time you can grab an enemy from behind and use him as a human shield (This goes for all one handed weapons in the game). Or you can cause mayhem and dual wield two of these bad babies. However you can also upgrade it into a mini sniper rifle if you put on a silencer and a scope.

It costs a total of $1,525,000 to fully upgrade it. To fully upgrade it, you must have all 4 Tiers of the Kruger Schmidt Upgrade Shop unlocked.

[top]
Fully Customised SMG Tactical
All custom SMG Tactical components purchased.

The SMG Tactical. When wanting to be sneaky just isn't your thing. This is a good weapon to use when running through Professional or Expert... if you don't care about your ranking. With the upgrades this can be made into a medium ranged submachine gun with an alright sized clip. You can use this or the M4, however the M4 is harder to conceal, but is more powerful.

It costs a total of $1,375,000 to fully upgrade. To fully upgrade it, you must have all 4 Tiers of the Kruger Schmidt Upgrade Shop unlocked.

[top]
Fully Customized SP12 Shotgun
All custom Shotgun components purchased.

Not much to say about the SP12 Shotgun... aside from that you can put a silencer on it and imagine yourself as Anton Chigurh from No Country For Old Men. Little twisted, I know, but hey it's fun. Anyhow, this weapon is completely the opposite of what you want when going for a Silent Assassin ranking. It's loud, and messy. However if you're just running through some missions on Expert or Professional, this could prove to be entertaining. The scope for the gun is pointless, considering you'll be shooting it at close range. But I do recommend the silencer, just to make it a little easier on yourself. The silencer may lower the damage output, but you'll be shooting at close range anyway, so it's no big deal

It costs a total of $1,175,000 to fully upgrade it. To fully upgrade it, you must have all 4 Tiers of the Kruger Schmidt Upgrade Shop unlocked.

[top]
Fully Customized M4
All custom M4 components purchased.

The M4 is a death machine. It should be, considering it's an Assault Rifle. You can add a larger magazine, a silencer, low velocity ammo or a scope to make this one useful puppy. However it is very hard to conceal and even with a silencer, it may alert some guards on higher difficulties. Best to use this one on Expert of Professional.

It costs a total of $1,625,000 to fully upgrade it. To fully upgrade it, you must have all 4 Tiers of the Kruger Schmidt Upgrade Shop unlocked.

[top]
Fully Customized W2000 Sniper
All custom W2000 components purchased.

The W2000 Sniper is a straightforward weapon, being just a sniper rifle. However this sniper rifle comes in a suitcase and must be assembled before use. If you just want to kill someone from a distance, and trust me, you do, then this will be your weapon of choice in quite a few missions. With the upgrades you can have a silenced bolt action rife with extreme accuracy. Missions like Curtains Down or Murder Of Crows are good missions to use this with..

It costs a total of $1,250,000 to fully upgrade it. To fully upgrade it, you must have all 4 Tiers of the Kruger Schmidt Upgrade Shop unlocked.

[top]
Special Rating
A Special Rating has been awarded.

The Special rating is The Russian Hare. To be eligible for this rating there are certain conditions you must meet.
  • You must you use your Sniper Rifle for most (if not all) kills
  • You must kill them all in one hit. Headshots are preferable but not necessary if your Sniper Rifle is powerful enough.
  • You must kill ALL enemies (guards)
  • Do NOT kill civilians
  • Complete the mission
Being unseen is irrelevant as long as you stay within these guidelines. The best mission to get this on is A New Life. In the video below is a walkthrough on how to get it, recorded by PuppyZwolle

All 3 Tiers seem to unlock based on how much money you obtain. I unlocked Tier 4 when I amassed 5 Million. Which is the same amount you need for High Roller . Just play on Normal or Rookie and go for Silent Assassin for each mission.

[top]
High Roller
$5,000,000 have been accumulated.

This is a small grind as you must play a mission over and over again. Just be sure to save after every run. The best place to do this is the mission A New Life, as this mission can take up to about 5-6 minutes if you know what you're doing.

Video of a quick and easy method to finishing A New Life on Silent Assassin. Which can wrack up a lot of money. You must have all the money at once, which isn't too bad, even if you upgrade a few weapons along the way.
