Enter the world of Journey, the third game from acclaimed indie developers thatgamecompany and presented by SCEA Santa Monica Studio.

Journey is an interactive parable, an anonymous online adventure to experience a person’s life passage and their intersections with others.

You wake alone and surrounded by miles of burning, sprawling desert, and soon discover the looming mountaintop which is your goal.

Faced with rolling sand dunes, age-old ruins, caves and howling winds, your passage will not be an easy one. The goal is to get to the mountaintop, but the experience is discovering who you are, what this place is, and what is your purpose.

Travel and explore this ancient, mysterious world alone, or with a stranger you meet along the way. Soar above ruins and glide across sands as you discover the secrets of a forgotten civilization.

Featuring stunning visuals, haunting music, and unique online gameplay, Journey delivers an experience like no other.

Journey was released on 3/6/12 exclusively for Playstation Plus members. On 3/13/12 it was officially released on the PSN.

1. Complete the game

Play through the game for the first time. I recommend just relaxing and enjoying the game for your first playthrough as it is meant to be an experience. During this playthrough you will probably get a few trophies including Crossing along the way. If you waited for a companion at the Flight Level and entered the light with them you will also unlock Rebirth. If you want to get as many trophies as you can during your first playthrough check the trophy guide first for tips otherwise save that for Step 3.

2. Offline play

If you didn’t get Threshold during your first playthrough you might want to try doing it offline. I was able to unlock it while playing online, but did have to restart a few times due to my companions building the bridge completely and making the trophy unobtainable.

3. Clean-up

Now that you have completed your first playthrough you will be able to enter Chapter Select, which will make it much easier to go back and get any missing trophies. To enter Chapter Select press , , then . This will take you to the Hub which contains buildings with portals to each level. You can tell which level a portal will take you to by the picture it shows you when you get close to it. Use the guide below to help unlock any trophies you are missing.

4. 100%

Congratulations on your new 100% on an epic game!

Cross the broken bridge without completely rebuilding it.

In order to cross the broken bridge I first found five of the glowing symbols. Each symbol will lengthen your scarf so that you can jump higher and longer. Two of the symbols can easily be found in the main chapter select area. The other three can be found on the bridge level. Using these five symbols I was able to cross the broken bridge after a couple tries.

When you get to the bridge level you will need to connect all sections of the bridge except the second one. When you first get to the bridge level head straight down and go to the metal box that has a large cloth coming out of it. Hold while you are next to the cloth. This will build the first section of the bridge. Next, go to the left side of the bridge and hold next to the 2 boxes in that area with cloth coming out of them. This will build the third and fourth sections of the bridge. Do not connect the second section of the bridge. The cloth box for that part is on the right side of the bridge.

In order to make the jump across the gap from the first section of the bridge to the third you will first need to collect all three glowing symbols in the area. The first symbol is located to the left behind some rocks. The second symbol is located toward the back near the end of the bridge on the left side. It is behind a waterfall of sand. The third symbol is on the right side of the bridge toward the back on top of a ledge of sand waterfalls. In order to get on top of the ledge you will need to hold next to a metal box nearby to release some pieces of cloth. After the pieces of cloth come out hold next to them so that they give you a boost onto the ledge.

Now that you have all three symbols go to the first section of the bridge. Glide up the first carpeted section of the bridge to regenerate your scarf’s jump meter. When you get to the edge of that section of the bridge jump and hold to fly across the gap. You will probably also need to press a few times while flying to get a little higher so that you can make it the next section of the bridge. Once you get to the next section of the bridge glide along the rest of the carpeted sections until you get to the end. Once you make it to the end the trophy will unlock.

NOTE: You may want to try to go for this one offline unless you and your companion are on the same page. I did this one online, but had to restart a few times because some of the people I came across built the bridge completely.

Find the hidden desert flower.

The flower is located close to the end of the Desert level. It is a little to the right of the center area in between some large dunes. The best way to find it is to start off the Desert level from the beginning and release the first cloth creature from the metal box in front of you. To release the creature stand next to the box and hold . Follow the cloth creature to another box and release those creatures the same way that you did the first one. Let one of the creatures pick you up and drop you at the top of a ridge. Do not follow the creatures. Instead, follow the line of the ridge to the right and go down to the right into a valley. In the bottom of the valley you will see a yellow flower from the game Flower among some small stones. Hold next to the Flower and the trophy will unlock.

Discover all cloth creatures in the desert.

To unlock this trophy you need to release all of the cloth creatures in the desert. You will have to visit seven areas to find all of the creatures. When you first get to the Desert level you will find the first cloth creature just beyond two sand dunes. If you follow this creature it will take you to the next creature that you need to release. Keep following the creatures and eventually you will find all of them. The last creatures will be released when you meditate at the statue at the end of the level. The trophy will unlock a few seconds after you finish the cutscene at the end of the level.

Pass through 15 gates while surfing through the sunken city.

You can unlock this trophy when you get to the Sunken City level. The level will start off with you sliding down sand through a sunken city. While sliding you will pass gates (stone arches) and other remnants of buildings. Try to slide through as many of the gates as you can. You will eventually slide down into a courtyard and will need to free some creatures and also have an opportunity to get a symbol located on a ledge on the right side. You can then fly up to the center arch and drop down to begin the second section of sliding. Try to pass through as many gates as you can. I recommend sticking to the right side as there are a few more gates on that side that you can go through. The trophy will unlock when you get to the glistening sand if you have passed through 15 or more gates in both sliding sections.

Note: There are three symbols in the Sunken City level. Two of them are in the sliding sections (one per sliding section). I recommend focusing on getting these two symbols after your first playthrough (when you can use Chapter Select).

Sneak through the underground passage without tearing your scarf.

Once you get to the Underground level try to stay to the left side off of the path. This is the first level where you will be introduced to the flying stone dragons. The dragons will scan the main path with their blue spotlights and if they spot anything then their light will turn red and they will attack you. When they attack they will tear your scarf to half its length and also prevent you from unlocking this trophy.

You can easily avoid the dragons though if you just walk to the left. Doing this will also bring you closer to a glyph and another glowing symbol. Be sure to get both of them along the way before you pass the large stone arch. After you pass through the arch you will begin sliding down a hill toward a glowing meditation circle. Hold up on the Left Stick () to increase your speed so you can get to the circle before the dragons have a chance to attack you. Once you are finished with the cutscene and enter the next level the trophy will unlock.

* For a video walkthrough please see the Underground video under

Find a mysterious creature hidden in the temple.

When you get to the Temple level you will need to fill up the level with a glowing mist of light. There are five glyphs that you will need to visit and reveal in order to get up to the meditation circle. Once you get to the top of the Temple tower don’t head to the meditation circle but instead float back down to the second floor. Go through one of the two arches on the second floor and you will find a creature from the game Flow. Hold next to this creature and the trophy will unlock.

Uncover all 10 ancient glyphs.

There are 10 ancient glyphs spread out across the levels that you must uncover to unlock this trophy. The 5 glyphs in the Temple level are separate and do not count toward this trophy. A glyph is a wall mural that shows a piece of history. When you come across one of these murals hold to uncover it. It will then illuminate and show you a piece of history that will coincide with the meditation cutscene at the end of the level.

You can uncover all 10 ancient glyphs along your journey or you can go back for any you missed using Chapter Select. Once you complete the game for the first time Chapter Select will be available to use. Entering Chapter Select will bring you to a hub that has a portal to each level. You can tell which glyphs you need by entering a building and standing in front of a portal. Once you stand in front of a portal a picture of the level will appear and the little markers to the left and the right will glow. If a marker is not glowing it means that you still need to uncover that glyph in the level.

The 10 Glyphs are spread out across these levels:

Intro/Hub: 1
Bridge: 1
Desert: 2
Sunken City: 2
Underground: 1
Temple Tower: 1
Snow: 2

*See Transcendance for videos showing where all of the glyphs and symbols are located.

Reach the summit with a companion and return to the beginning.

This trophy can easily be unlocked during your first playthrough. Finish the Flight level and enter the light at the end of the level with a companion. After the credits have gone by you will come to a “Companions Met” screen. The trophy will unlock once you get to this screen.

Finish the game and return to the beginning.

This trophy cannot be missed. Finish the game solo or with a companion and the trophy will unlock at the “Companions Met” screen.

Finish the game with the same partner for the majority of the journey and return to the beginning.

You can unlock this trophy on your first playthrough or go back for it using Chapter Select after you have completed the game. If you want to try to get it on your first playthrough then wait for a companion on the Bridge, Desert or Surfing Level and stay with them until the end of the Flight level. Try to stay close to them and enter the meditation circles at the same time so that you don’t lose them. You can easily tell if it’s the same companion by the symbols that they show above their head when they press . If you complete the game with the same companion the trophy will unlock when you get to the “Companions Met” screen.

If you didn’t unlock this trophy after your first playthrough don’t worry because you can now unlock it without having to go through all of the levels. You also won’t have to worry about your companion leaving you and voiding your chances at the trophy. After you complete a full playthrough, start a new game and press then to get to Chapter Select. Once you are in the Hub go to the far right building which is the Snow Level. Take the portal to the Snow Level and wait for a companion to join you. Once you have a companion complete the Snow and Flight levels together and enter the light at the same time as them. The trophy will unlock when you get to the “Companions Met” screen.

Glitch Note: Do not go into the XMB menu and check or sync your trophies during the credits. If you do then you will not receive any game completion trophies, including Companion.

Sit and meditate with another player for more than 20 seconds.

Press while standing by your companion to sit and meditate. Try to give them some kind of a sign by pressing a few times before you meditate so they won’t just think you are leaving the game. Once you and your companion are meditating, wait 20 seconds and the trophy will unlock.

Meet 10 or more unique travelers.

If your companion’s symbols change during your playthrough you have received a new companion. If you don’t unlock this trophy during your first playthrough you can easily boost it. To boost the trophy go to the Hub by pressing , , then . Enter one of the levels in the hub and wait for a traveler to appear then exit back to the hub. Keep repeating this and once you have met 10 unique travelers the trophy will unlock.

Start the journey again after a week long break.

You can unlock this trophy two different ways. You can unlock it by taking a break from playing the game for a week and then playing it again.

You can also unlock it by starting the game and going to the Hub. Once you are there exit to the XMB and go to the Date & Time Settings to set your clock forward by a week. Start Journey again and once you get to the Main Menu the trophy will unlock.

Collect all unique glowing symbols across one or more journeys.

To unlock this trophy you must find 21 unique glowing symbols across your journey. A symbol is a glowing gold object that makes your scarf longer and allows you to fly higher and longer. You can easily tell when you have come across a symbol because it will be a glowing gold object. You can also tell which symbols you have at the end of every level at the meditation circle. At the meditation circle you will see some small stones in between the statue and meditation circle. If they are glowing then you have found that symbol. If they are dark and not glowing then you are missing that symbol.

You can also tell which levels you are missing symbols for by going to the Hub. All the way to the right of the Snow Level building there is a small stairway with rows of stones to the left and right. If a stone is glowing it means that you found that particular symbol for that level. The rows from left to right correlate with these levels (and amount of symbols in that level):

Intro/Hub: 3
Bridge: 3
Desert: 4
Surfing: 3
Underground: 4
Temple Tower: 4

There are no symbols to collect in the Snow or Flight Level.

Below are some videos showing where all of the glyphs and symbols are located:
