[top]Tips & Strategies

· When it is your opponents turn you can press up to 3x to speed up the rate at which the opponent moves their units. Unfortunately this doesn't allow you to see much of where and what is being placed.

Fuel is limited through the entire campaign and should be used very wisely. I wouldn't recommend using more than 1 unit that uses fuel at once such as the tank, aircraft carrier, or the artillery.

Your aircraft carriers cannot be attacked so this is a huge benefit to attack from the sky and not having to worry about being destroyed.

Your units move only a certain amount of spaces at one time so pay attention to this when having this unit chosen. The commando and the sniper move the longest distances. You can also more than one time if you didn't move the entire amount of space you could before. When you set your unit in a new location be sure to set the direction of fire by pressing and using in a directional pattern.

Don't use your prestige points on tanks and aircraft carriers because they are not needed if playing on picnic day difficulty.

You have the option to load a mission while in a campaign, if you do so just know your current progress will be erased and you will start from wherever you loaded your game and beat that current mission.

Ammo and health kits are available to you in each of the missions. The Ammo is displayed as an open box with shiny gold inside of it resembling the bullet casings (shells). The med kits as usual are shown by the national symbol of medical care of a red cross on top of wooden boxes. Just know there isn't many within the mission so use them wisely if you do so.

With any war there is a strategy that needs to be placed and only YOU can determine what works best for you whether you are more offensive or a defensive opportunist.

Pressing crouch's your foot soldiers and help out a lot when within the enemy's range of fire.

Never be afraid of quitting and restarting the mission if one of your units die or get destroyed.

Also just be sure to heal all of your troops before beginning each mission. To do this you go into the U.S. Third Army sub menu while at the mission brief and if one of your units is injured it will have a triangle with a med kit symbol on it, simply hover over the unit and press to heal this unit.

[top]Roadmap

There isn't much of an option here for what to do except begin by playing the campaign and by doing so opt to do the tutorial first and then you will then begin your adventure of becoming a legend of war like General Patton once did.

If you happen to miss any of the trophies simply start up a new campaign and play again with the prestige points you had from before. You can also choose to do the "play mission" for any trophies you have missed except for the heroic wins.

[top]Trophies

[top]
Legend of War
Complete all trophies.

You will only obtain this trophy by collecting all the bronze, silver, and gold trophies within the game.

[top]
New recruit!
Complete tutorial.

This should be the first trophy you achieve in this game. To achieve this you will first begin by clicking on campaign and then select new campaign. You will be asked which User campaign you would like to play on from 1-3 pick any you prefer since it makes no difference. After this you will be asked to choose a difficulty level and I would suggest choosing picnic day if you are solely going for the platinum as it is clearly the easiest. Once this is all done with you will be asked to go through the tutorial before playing the campaign and simply click yes to achieve this trophy.

This could also be earned if you go into the help sub menu from the main menu selection screen if you didn't opt to do the tutorial in the beginning.

I would suggest doing the tutorial in the beginning of your campaign simply because the controls can be quite confusing to pick up on your own. This will only last about 5 minutes to play throughout the entire tutorial.

Note: At the beginning of each mission the controls are displayed so you could revert back to those if you ever happen to forget.

[top]
First blood!
Complete first mission (Campaign Mode).

Story related and cannot be missed!

The first mission you play is right after the tutorial if you had chosen to play that. Just play and complete Mission 1: Welcome, Mr. Patton and you will earn yourself another trophy.

You will have 5 soldiers (troops) to start off with and do your best not to lose them or take so much damage because you would rather spend your prestige points on recruiting more troops than healing your comrades. Use your grenades as they are almost always one hit kills and they have a wide spread of damage allowing you to take out multiple enemies at once. Also use each of your troops to help manage a strategy against your enemy whether you want to flank them (I suggest this method since the Germans are lined up down the middle waiting for you) or just go straight into battle and eliminate your foes.

[top]
Specialist Infantry
Recruit first bazooka (Campaign Mode).

When you are at your mission brief screen you will see Patton’s Skills, U.S. Third Army, and Troops for Mission. When you want to recruit a unit do so by click on U.S. Third Army followed by pressing .

The bazooka soldier is available after mission 2 and will cost 8000 prestige cost to recruit. You also could upgrade one of your regular soldiers into a bazooka handler by again going into the U.S. Third Army sub menu. Now you just highlight a unit you wish to upgrade and press going into unit options then where you can now highlight another unit you wish to upgrade your troop into.

[top]
Retrained!
Make first upgrade (Campaign Mode).

You can upgrade your enemies from the mission brief screen by clicking on the U.S. Third Army sub menu and clicking on the highlighted unit you would like to upgrade. After this you will be brought up to the unit’s detail simply press to upgrade the unit and there you will have your choices of upgrade into.

Your first chance at upgrading a troop would be after the first mission before going onto the second mission.

Note: Upgrading your unit will cost you some Prestige points just less than you actually use if you were to recruit them without upgrading.

[top]
Armored Support
Recruit first tank (Campaign Mode).

When you are at the mission brief screen you will see Patton's Skills, U.S. Third Army, and Troops for Mission sub menus. When you want to recruit a unit, you do so by clicking on the U.S. Third Army followed by pressing .

The first tank that becomes available is after mission 2 and is the M24 Chafee costing 10,000 Prestige. There are a total of 3 tanks in the game in which you can recruit, however if you are not in a rush to achieve this trophy I would suggest holding off because you are not in need of a tank this early in the game.

  • Tank M24 Chafee: 10,000 Prestige cost
  • Tank Sherman M4A3: 20,000 Prestige cost
  • Tank E8 Sherman M4A3: 30,000 Prestige cost

[top]
Destroyer!
Destroy 50 German units (Campaign Mode).

You will earn this trophy with natural progression through the game. All you need to do is eliminate 50 opposing enemies by way of guns, grenades, bazooka’s, tanks, and/or aerial attacks.

Just remember when you are switching turn to set the view of your troops by pressing and using to set the direction and make sure you have the proper weapon in use. This can be very handy when playing defensively or just taking safety measures of your troops.

[top]
Battle Hardened Recruit
Complete first operation (Campaign Mode).

Story related and cannot be missed!

Operation 1 has 5 missions that need to be completed before moving onto operation 2 which are listed below with a brief description of what is tasked to you.

  • Mission 1: Welcome, Mr. Patton – (Attack - Eliminate all enemies within the map).
  • Mission 2: Far from home - (Infiltrate - Reach control point, which is a green circle with a x on it. Also could be visible by clicking to see where you are and the distance to your target area).
  • Mission 3: “Indian Territory” – (Defense – Kill opposing enemies while staying in cover trying not to let the Germans kill your troops).
  • Mission 4: Radio Silence – (Sabotage – Detonate the TNT charges on the communication posts).
  • Mission 5: Falaise Pocket – (Attack – Eliminate the enemy tanks and soldiers).

During this operation you should focus on getting used to the control configurations and earning prestige points so you can recruit more troops/allies. Just know that it is advised to only recruit foot patrols such as bazooka, regular, ranger, sniper, and paratrooper troops. This operation doesn't need any heavy artillery such as tanks so just be weary and think logically when you are recruiting your troops.

[top]
Skilled warrior
Complete second operation (Campaign Mode).

Story related and cannot be missed!

Operation 2 has 5 missions that need to be completed before moving onto operation 3 which are listed below with a brief description of what is tasked to you.
  • Mission 6: Crossing the Seine - (Escort - Lead the engineer across the map without letting him die).
  • Mission 7: Strong resistance - (Attack - Kill all enemies).
  • Mission 8: Search and destroy - (Infiltrate - Destroy all artillery positions).
  • Mission 9: Duck hunter - (Defense - Keep alive for 14 turns).
  • Mission 10: Following the trail - (Sabotage - Find and capture an enemy).
Do the same you did for operation 1 with the exception of recruiting some snipers as they have the greatest range and best attributes killing your enemy with one shot on picnic day difficulty. This will make your progression much quick and easier for you.

[top]
Assassin!
Kill 15 German soldiers with knife (Campaign Mode).

This trophy is accessible with 2 different units within the game, the commando and the French Resistance ally.

Commando: 20,000 Prestige cost
French Resistance Ally: 15,000 Prestige cost

In order to achieve a kill with a knife you need to use one of these units and when you are moving spaces you will have the option available to you if you are within knife killing distance to your enemy. You will know if you are by hovering over the enemy you wish to knife and there will be a knife symbol over the enemy troop. Once you have confirmation you are capable of getting the kill do so by pressing and your unit will begin to attack, but just know if you are low on health more than likely your enemy troop will be attacking your unit possibly killing them so just be careful and aware of what you are getting your troop into.

Note: It is best going for this during the stealth/infiltrate missions.

[top]
Heroic
Get 5 heroic victories (Campaign Mode).

Missable Trophy!

Please refer to Heroic Leader below for more details.

[top]
Their worst nightmare!
Destroy 100 German units (Campaign Mode).

You will earn this trophy with natural progression through the game. All you need to do is eliminate 100 opposing enemies by way of guns, grenades, bazooka’s, tanks, and/or aerial attacks.

Just remember when you are switching turn to set the view of your troops by pressing and using to set the direction and make sure you have the proper weapon in use. This can be very handy when playing defensively or just taking safety measures of your troops.

[top]
Air Support
Recruit first aircraft (Campaign Mode).

When you are at the mission brief screen you will see Patton's Skills, U.S. Third Army, and Troops for Mission sub menus. When you want to recruit a unit, you do so by clicking on the U.S. Third Army followed by pressing .

The first aircraft that becomes available is the Transport Douglas C-47 after the fourth mission in operation 1. Unless you are in a hurry to obtain this trophy hold off on recruiting this unit because it is not needed right now early in the game and would benefit you more to recruit more ground troops. The aircraft has a wide range of fire when used so be careful your troops are not in the path of resistance.

Not all aircraft carriers have weapons so just be aware of this when recruiting. To see if they do or not look at the details of the unit and look at its weaponry and it will display what it is capable of.
  • Fighter P51D Mustang: 15,000 Prestige cost
  • Bomber B25H Mitchell: 30,000 Prestige cost
  • Transport Douglas C-47: 20,000 Prestige cost

[top]
Inspirational General
Max out any of Patton's Skills (Campaign Mode).

There are 6 skills that you could choose to max out from General Patton’s skills. Each skill has a maximum level of 10 so all you need to do is reach level 10 in one particular skill.

These 6 skills are and a brief description of what they are for:
  • Offensive Capabilities (Increases damage power and precision).
  • Defensive Capabilities (Increases health to your units).
  • Tactical Capabilities (Increases number of shots your units can take).
  • Logistics (Increases the amount of ammo your units have).
  • Charisma (Increases the amount of prestige skills when accomplishing a mission).
  • Experience (Increases the amount of starting experience in new recruited units).

It all depends on how you use your skill points to earn this trophy just know there is no rush and you will continue to earn skill points during the campaign.

Note: You earn skill points by completing missions. This will also carry over if you start the campaign from the beginning but you will have to start all per with having to earn your units.

[top]
Full army!
Complete the Third Army (Campaign Mode).

When you are at the mission brief screen you will see Patton's Skills, U.S. Third Army, and Troops for Mission sub menus. When you want to recruit a unit, you do so by clicking on the U.S. Third Army followed by pressing

The description really doesn't give this trophy away to how it is earned, however I got the answer for you! Simply what you want to do here is have the maximum amount of unit's you can, which is 24. Do this however you like, but the fastest way to earn this trophy would be to recruit 24 regular units (troops) at a cost of 1,000 Prestige points each.

[top]
Combat veteran
Complete third operation (Campaign Mode).

Story related and cannot be missed!

Operation 3 has 6 missions that need to be completed before moving onto operation 4 which are listed below with a brief description of what is tasked to you.
  • Mission 11: Armed clash - (Attack - Destroy all enemy units).
  • Mission 12: Take back what is yours - (Infiltration - Find your allies plans in a downed plane).
  • Mission 13: The bridge over the river Mosela - (Defense - Stay alive for 14 turns).
  • Mission 14: I need a doctor - (Escort - Get you medic into the designated area). The designated area is shown by a green circle with an x in the middle of it. In order to pull up your map press and you will see the map level you are currently on.
  • Mission 15: The last bastion - (Attack - Reach a bunker and destroy it with any unit). There are numerous amounts of bunkers in the mission as well as German troops so go into this mission prepared.
  • Mission 16: Clearing the sky - (Sabotage - Place explosives in launch zones).

If you hadn't recruited a tank thus far I recommend doing so before mission 15 or at least have some bazooka troops with you as well with a few snipers to attack long range. If you haven't achieved the 10 heroic victories yet try and work towards this during operations 3 & 4 so you don't need to play from the beginning again.

[top]
War Hero
Destroy 200 German units (Campaign Mode).

You will earn this trophy with natural progression through the game. All you need to do is eliminate 200 opposing enemies by way of guns, grenades, bazooka’s, tanks, and/or aerial attacks.

Just remember when you are switching turn to set the view of your troops by pressing and using to set the direction and make sure you have the proper weapon in use. This can be very handy when playing defensively or just taking safety measures of your troops.

[top]
Weapons Tech

Story related and cannot be missed!

There is no task you have to go out of your way and do for this trophy. Just continue on with the campaign and this will unlock after operation 3 mission 16 at which time you will also earn the Combat Veteran trophy. Once this is obtained you will have unlocked all the units for use so check them out and recruit any you feel would be valuable during operation 4 the final run before becoming a legend of war.

[top]

Story related and cannot be missed!

  • Mission 21: Where are my buddies? - (Attack - Research your target destination).

[top]
Heroic Leader
Get 10 heroic victories (Campaign Mode).

Missable Trophy!

First you must know that this CANNOT be earned by playing a single mission, this must be done in the campaign section of the game and CANNOT be earned with multiple playthroughs. You must do this one play through. This is by far the hardest trophy accomplish the tasks.

There a few things that determine the outcome and they are as follows:
  • Number of turns used.
  • Number of enemies killed.
  • Number of your troops killed.
  • Number of shots ratio of hit and fired.

Note
: To see how many heroic victories you currently have go to Patton's Skill sub menu in the mission briefing and you will see your mission stats on the bottom right showing you what type and how many victories you have of each.

Note: To achieve this a little easier use your Patton Skills on the capabilities and charisma attributes first to give you the option to throw multiple grenades and shoot multiple times at once.

[top]
Supreme commander
Complete fourth operation without casualties (Campaign Mode).

Try and make space to take a medic with you to help make this trophy a little easier to accomplish and make sure to play on picnic day difficulty.

If at anytime you lose a unit in missions 17-21 press and click on restart mission so this negates the death and allows you start all over.

Do not leave your units out in the open or by themselves, move in teams to make it easier and more maneuverable through the mission.

Also just be sure to heal all of your troops before beginning each mission. To do this you go into the U.S. Third Army sub menu while at the mission brief and you if one of your units is injured it will have a triangle with a medkit symbol on it, simply hover over the unit and press to heal this unit.
