[top]Overview

Lost Planet 2 is the sequel, taking place on E.D.N. III ten years after, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition. Lost Planet 2 is a third person shooter which has many of the characteristics of the first game.
The planet is under a civil war with several factions fighting for the precious T-ENG. You still have the boss battles, mechanized Suits (VSs) and harsh terrain as you did in the first release.
You can chose which faction you wish to join. You not only battle the other factions, but you also have the natural inhabitants of the planet, Akrids to deal with. Akrids are the large insects that roam the planet. You have the small flying trilids to the large and massive Over G. So are your ready for some bug killin'?
You have the various difficulty levels of story line campaign and Online matches to keep you occupied for hours.

[top]Roadmap to the Platinum:

If you are looking for a quick platinum try another game. If your looking for a platinum try another game. This has got to be the most absurd and asinine trophy list I have ever seen. Majority of the game trophies are a long hard grind. You have three trophies that will be damn near impossible, to get A Collector's Collector, Good Job Soldier and Committed 'til the End.
A Collector's Collector requires all weapons, character parts, abilities, noms de guerre. Now weapons, character parts and abilities are very valid request and do able. But noms de guerre requirement is so asinine, there are no words to describe this crap. You have to collect around 500 titles including being number 1 on the leader board. Plus a few others that are completely absurd. Good Luck!
Good Job Soldier requires that you earn all the good job awards. 95% of the awards are feasible, then you add the ones that are outrageous.
Committed 'til the End requires both trophies above. Good luck.
Now to get off my soapbox and give you a roadmap to get what you can.
First thing to do is go online and play a Faction match. Choose a Faction and play. You can play one faction a week. So get this one started right away. You only have to play 3 Factions. This is for the Professional Turncoat. So this can be done in little over a week. Week game totals go from Sunday to Sunday.
The game requires you to run through the campaign a minimum of 4 times, once for each difficulty. The trophies are not stackable. I would start out on the campaign and work on "Hard". Once you finish "Hard", Extreme will unlock. This leaves your easier difficulties to work on your clean-up trophies. All Episodes, Chapters can be done at any time and any difficulty once completed. Extreme can only be done when "Hard" campaign has been completed. During your campaign run throughs you should have earned all the campaign Episode trophies. See "Rookie" for hidden passage description and what it takes to complete a campaign. Try and complete all your campaigns online with other members, these totals will count for Two is Better Than One.
Now comes some grinding. Work on your Character Level Trophy requirements. Each Faction requires you to level them up to level 99 and to do this you need 999,999 career level points. Start off working on Rounders or NEVEC. Rounders levels you up the most during campaign. Both Rounders and NEVEC reward your levels with weapons. Which come in handy. See career level rewards below for each faction. Once you have finished the campaign, on any difficulty, you can chose any character you wish.
This can be done through the campaign, offline, online and Faction matches. If you do some grinding offline you will not get as many points for some reason. I have seen other forums list Episode 5 as a place to do this. Only problem is this Episode you have to rely on team mates and they have to let you kill the boss. My recommendation is Episode 6, Chapter 3. This can be done solo with the AI members. It takes about 20-30 mins. and you earn 15,000 to 17,000 points on easy and 65,000+ on extreme with Superstar ability. Get the Superstar ability as soon as you can. This paticular chapter has several s and m-class Akrid and 2 bosses. Working this route you could work on It's So Easy, Endangered Species, Monster Hunter, and Me against the World. Also doing solo online will count your time for Me against the World.
By the time you have finished the Campaign and Character Level trophies you should have all the trophies, including your Accumulation Trophies except the ones listed above and online, through natural progression. Let's Go VS Force! can be done while working on Episode 4, Chapter 3.
Online is pretty straight forward. You need 100 wins (Centurion), 500 games online (War Vet), which can be boosted, kill 1000 enemies (Slayer of a Thousand Men) and Hot Shot which you should easily get working on Centurion and War Vet.
Which should leave you with the three trophies listed above.

[top]Tips & Strategies

[?] boxes - these boxes appear when you have killed an Akrid. The larger an Akrid the more [?] boxes appear. Try to collect as many as you can. Inside each box will reward you with either credits, emote or a noms de guerre. See slot machine below.
T-ENG crates/boxes or whatever you want to call them. These can be opened by pressing+, it takes about 1000 units of energy. Inside these crates/boxes you will find various types of weapons.
There are a few very large crates that house some VSs these take about 10000 units to open. Episode 4 has one during your underwater VS fights. Also there are a couple in the online map of Thunderpeal Precipice.
Rubble , snow piles and wooden boxes. There are several located through out the campaign. Just go up to the pile, and dig (by pressing). Usually just various weapons. If the piles are big enough it could be a VS.
Slot Machine - The slot machine can be found on "My Page" customization>any of the choices> at the bottom of each screen you will "Slot Machine ". Once you have enough credits (2000) you can take a pull on the slot machine. You will be rewarded with either a character part, emote, noms de guerre or weapon. Once all the emotes and noms de guerre have been selected the price will go up to 10000. You will now be rewarded with either a weapon or character part until you have received everything and everything is unlocked. At that point the Slot Machine will be closed.
Harmonizer - this is a device on your wrist. During campaign and training missions if you take on damage the harmonizer (pressing ), will restore your health as long as you have T-ENG to use. The harmonizer does not work in online matches.

Snow Pirate Dominator
For the one who has gotten everything.

You know the story with a platinum. Collect all the others and this will be yours. Good Luck this sure looks like a brutal list.

Campaign Trophies:
16 - 14 2 0 16
Campaign is completely linear, go from point A to point B, no variations. Except Episode 1, Chapter 2. There are two variations here and you have to complete them both to complete a campaign.
Campaign trophies are trophies based solely on the completion of certain sections of the Campaign.
All Campaign trophies can be earned offline except for Complete Prologue B. This can only be done in Online Co-op. See description

[top]
300-Chapter Playback
Play Through 300 Chapters.

Here is another brutal trophy. You have 21 Chapters per Campaign. Since you have to run through the campaign 4 times you have 84 chapters out of the way. Not all chapters need to be completed. You can utilize any combination of chapters you wish. However you have to play completely through 300 chapters and Episode 1, Chapter 2 has to be done both ways in order for it to count as a completed chapter.
Looking to farm these out, try Episode 3, Chapter 1. This chapter seems to be the quickest and easiest to get through. It only takes about 7-8 minutes on easy.

[top]
It's So Easy
Play any combination of Chapters 39 times on Easy.

This all has to be done on Easy. No combination of any other difficulties will work for this trophy. Since you do have to run through the entire campaign you will have completed 21 chapters. You have 18 more to go. However while doing this you can stick to one chapter or any combination of chapters. In other words since you are stuck working on this go through Episode 6, Chapter 3. This chapter includes 2 bosses for Monster Hunter and you will accumulate over 15,000+ points for leveling up.

[top]
Rookie
Complete the Game on Easy.

You will recieve this trophy once you complete the entire campaign on Easy which includes the hidden passage missions. The hidden passage missions are at the beginning of Episode 1 Chapter 2.
You will start out in a little structure. You have to make your way to the reservoir. Once you first leave the little structure you first see a Genessa Akrid on your left. There will be some small trees to your right along the cliff face. Look behind the trees and you will see a small tunnel. You must enter and do these (2) missions before your completion trophy pops-up.

[top]
Soldier
Complete the Game on Normal.

You will receive this trophy once you complete the entire campaign on Normal which includes the hidden passage chapters. (See Rookie above).

[top]
Super Soldier
Complete the Game on Hard.

You will receive this trophy once you complete the entire campaign on Hard which includes the hidden passage chapters. (See Rookie above).

[top]
Ultimate Warrior
Complete the Game on Extreme.

This will unlock after you have completed the campaign on Hard. Same rules apply for completion of Campaign.

Character Level Trophies:
10 - 4 5 1 10

Offline, Online co-op and multiplayer all count for these totals. Once you complete a campaign you can use any character to replay any campaign chapter.
Farming level up points; The best place I have found to do this is Episode 6, Chapter 3 by yourself (solo) takes about 20-30 mins. and you earn 15,000 to 17,000 points on easy and 65,000+ on extreme with Superstar ability.

Accumulation Trophies:
16 - 14 2 0 16

[top]
Endangered Species
Defeat 3,000 S- and M-sized Akrid.

Here is another mind blowing trophy. 3,000 of these. I played through twice and only have around 500. Episode 1-1 and 6-3 seems to give you those most count per Chapter.
These are all the little guys, can you believe 3,000 of the insects listed below:
S - Sized
Trilids - the flying triangular shaped insects.
Sepia - the three legged spiders
M - Sized
Genessa - the insect nests.
Defolma - the squid like characters in chapter 4.
Donga - The rolling insects.
Vodoggs - the spikey dog like insects.

[top]
A Thousand Unmarked Graves
Defeat 1,000 enemy soldiers.

Sounds like a large number, but comes relatively quickly. You should get this through natural campaign play. Offline, Online co-op and multiplayer all count for these totals. These numbers are shown on your statistic pages, unfortunately you have to add all of chapters in campaign and online together yourself.

[top]
VS Graveyard
Destroy 100 enemy VSs.

You should easily get this through natural Campaign play. Offline, Online co-op and multiplayer all count for these totals. These numbers are shown on your statistic pages, unfortunately you have to add all of chapters in campaign and online together yourself.

[top]
Monster Hunter
Defeat 30 Bosses.

Defeat 30 bosses usually Category G Akrid. These numbers are shown on your statistic pages, unfortunately you have to add all of chapters in campaign and online together yourself.
Farming out Bosses; The best place I have found to do this is Episode 6, Chapter 3 takes about 20 - 30 mins. and you are faced with two bosses and also earn 15,000 to 17,000 points on easy and 65,000+ on extreme with Superstar ability.

[top]
Instrument of Destruction
Defeat 9,999 enemies (Akrid, VS or enemy soldiers).

Here is another mind numbing total even with the 3000 Akrid trophy above this will be a long grueling task. This total is for everything all Akrid, bosses, enemy soldiers and VS's.

[top]
Thermal Energy Reactor
Accumulate a combined total of more than 99,999 units of thermal energy.

Just go around a collect all the orange goo you come across and you will be amazed on how soon you will get this trophy. The trophy popped up by Episode 4 for me.

[top]
Death Wish
Die more than 444 times.

Here is a trophy that was designed for me. Just go out there a die 444 times (why this number, who knows). Offline, Co-op and Multiplayer all count for this total.
MAJmuffin has informed me that 4 is an unlucky/death number in some cultures. Thanks for the info.

[top]

Unlock all regular weapons and grenades.

There are a total of 61 weapons available. 10 are collected through raising your career level. See "Career level rewards" above. The rest maybe collected randomly by playing the Slot Machine on "My Page".

[top]
Warrior of Many Names
Unlock 100 noms de guerre.

Quite simple, just unlock any 100 of the 500 Noms de Guerre. There are just too many too list. I have seen several partial lists out there. Each one mentions they have the full listing. On top of that some vary quite a bit.

[top]
A Collector's Collector
Unlock all items (Weapons, character parts, abilities, noms de guerre).

This looks like one of those damn near impossible trophies. All weapons, character parts and abilities all look do able. Then they have to add all the 500 noms de guerre. This is just stupid. One of the names " NUMBER 1" will eliminate just about everyone out there. You have to achieve number one ranking. Majority of the noms de guerre are just asinine.
Unlock everything you can go to your "My page" and review your statistics and see what you have left.

Here is a link to the list of Noms de guerre - http://www.ps3trophies.com/forums/lo...erre-list.html

Miscellaneous Trophies:
7 - 5 1 1 7

[top]
Me against the World
Complete 93 areas while online without the help of other players.

Can be done on any difficulty. There are 42 areas per campaign. Run through the campaigns twice by yourself and you have 84 areas completed. Now you have just 9 more to go.
My recommendation: This is repetitive, get the most bang for your buck.
Run through chapter 6-3 on any difficulty by yourself and rank you characters up. You can score 15,000 points on easy and up 65,000+ on extreme with Superstar ability. That would roughly be 15 run throughs on extreme to rank a character to level 99.

[top]
Two is Better Than One
Complete 386 areas with one or more other players

Can be done on any difficulty. You're looking at quite a few run throughs for 386 areas. Try to take down all the bosses in group play for the most points. Not much more to offer here. Just another long hard grind.

[top]
Let's Go VS Force!
Merge two VS units (Form the Brocakti).

Conclusion: can only be done online not offline with a split screen. You need a Granseed (triangular shaped top part, head?) and a Cakti (Big tank like VS with drill bits in front). You also can do this in a couple of online matches. I think NEOS is one location.
The best place and only place to accomplish this trophy in the campaign would be Episode 4 chapter 3 and you need minimum 2 players co-op. There is a Granseed (on Easy)on the Hill side to the left right at the beginning of the chapter. I destroyed one and came back and another was waiting. Clear out some forces and take the Granseed to the back. (On hard the Granseed is in the back)
Before you destroy the last of the Osprey get back in the Granseed or stay in and try to keep it from being destroyed. Once the mission ends you will not have a chance at another Granseed unless you are in it when the mission ends.
Next mission, keep the Granseed out of sight. Attack and destroy the Mechanical Akrid. In the area of the Mechanical Akrid you should see an alcove with an electrical fence on the left side. You should see the Cakti sitting in there. Shut down the fences.
One player gets back in to the Granseed and the other heads to the Cakti. Now bring both VS's close to each other and both players press down on & and away from each other. If you do this right a will appear. Press and watch the transformation. I have had success doing this offline with no trophy. The trophy will pop up a few seconds after you complete the transformation.

[top]
Hot Shot
Gain Promotion to the rank of Gunner.

Here is a list of the online ranks up to Gunner:

Cadet
Recruit
Petty Officer
Chief Petty Officer
Warrant Officer
Midshipman
Junior Ensign
Ensign
Helmsman
Gunner

[top]
Professional Turncoat
Fight for a number of different factions in Faction Match.

Select online>Faction and join the battles. The rules here are; fight for each different Faction. Faction matches last a week, so you can only play one faction each week. You have to play a minimum of 3 Factions before the trophy pops.

Apparently you do not need to even join a match. Just select a different faction each week. By the time you select your third faction the trophy will pop-up. Tip provided by BSpatula, if you find it useful thank'em with some rep.

[top]
Good Job Soldier
Earn all Good Job Awards.

I have broken the GJ (Good Job) awards into 3 categories; Episode, Co-op and Battle.

EPISODE GJ Awards - I am pretty sure gold is required for all good job awards. So I have only gold requirements listed. I have listed all GJ awards stated at the beginning of each chapter. If I have missed one please let me know.
At any point you can go to>My Page>Statistics>Lists and see what you have earned.
