[top]Roadmap

Start the game on RttS (Road to the Show, a game of progression. You start in the minors and pregress to the majors like real life), and you can practically get all of the trophies there.

[top]Tips and Strategies

  • Only player/controller ONE may get the trophies!
  • NOTE: You may earn most of the RttS trophies on rookie. Only 2 trophies (one for each: position and pitcher) needs to be on All-Star. You do not need to get those trophies until last or until your pitcher/batter is fully upgraded in everything.

[top]Trophies

[top]
100% Clear
This is the platinum trophy and is unlocked automatically when all the trophies have been unlocked.

Get all the trophies, and this trophy is yours. Like I said before, make everything easier for you and start on RttS. If you play every game you should get most of the trophies.

[top]
The Salami
Hit a Grand Slam.

This may be the easiest trophy here. If you start on RttS then it should be easy getting it with your many opprotunities during your time in the seasons of the game.

You may get a bit impatient so go into exhibition and take two controllers. Load the bases on controller one and I tried it about 8 times before i got it. Picking any team will work, and though it doesn't really matter, most prefer the Yankees or Tigers because of their good power hitters.

[top]
Walk off win
Have a walkoff hit or walk to win a game.

This trophy is easy. The only problem with it is that you can notfastfoward or play only one inning. It must be at least 5 innings. So play one 5 inning game, 2 controllers, or boost online, and in the BOTTOM of the 5th, get a basehit scoring the winning run, or a walk with the bases loaded. I happened to get itwhile getting"walk off in style." It doesn't matter how you get this trophy, any game mode.

[top]
Walk off in style
Have a walkoff HR to win a game.

EASY WAY: If you aren't patient though, you could make a 5 inning game, 2 controllers, wait until the BOTTOM of the 5th, and hit an inside the park homerun to win the game. Make sure nobody is on base if you are going for the inside the park homerun.

RttS WAY: If you are patient, then you will get this in RttS if you play every game. This one is actually easier than it sounds. You get many moments in RttS to shine with a walk off win, so don't worry about that. Usually when you start out, you don't have that power to hit home runs, so this trophy may take a while.

[top]
Donít Hit Me
Throw a No Hitter vs. the CPU on All-Star or higher difficulty.

This trophy can be easily gotten in franchise. Thankfully, franchise has this save system, so you can save every inning or so. That way, when you go back into it, you are back where you are, no hits, and if you give up a hit, quit game and go back into it. Make sure you are on All-Star though or else you will be unable to recieve this trophy. You should get this trophy while going for "Streaker (Team)" so you can play one less game.

[top]
Streaker (Team)
Have a 10 game win streak in Season or Franchise mode vs. the CPU. Simulating or Fast Forwarding will restart the streak.

For this trophy, make sure you start a franchise or season. Thankfully, again, it doesn't say a difficulty to put it on so you may put it on rookie. And then on the 10th game, go for the "Don't Hit Me" trophy. This just makes it easier, and less games to play. Just in case you don't hit all of the trophies in RttS, or you just don't want to, franchise can get all of non-RttS trophies on one year, but that takes much much longer.

NOTE: YOU MAY PLAY ONE INNING GAMES!

[top]
RttS Power Plays
Hit 2 HR in a single RttS game on All-Star or higher difficulty.

This trophy is much harder to get than you may think. First, make sure your position player has full contact and power versus pitchers, clutch, vision, and adjust the sliders to this:
  • Contact: 99
  • Power: 99
  • Foul Balls: 0
  • Solid Hits: 99

Make sure the difficulty is on All-Star. This, unless you're lucky, will take multiple times. Hitting one homerun isn't all that hard. But be sure to have a good eye, because they throw some nasty pitches, and normally nothing good to hit. If you guess the pitch right, USE instead of for power swings.

[top]
RttS In Control
Strike out 10 batters in a single RttS game on All-Star or higher difficulty.

Again, you will have to start a new career as a pitcher, but I would either play through all of the games because if you don't have the stamina, then you have no chance of going far enough to strike out even 5 batters. So practice makes perfect. Just keep trying. Also, remember, you MUST have the difficulty on All-Star, sorry.

[top]
Make the Call
Get called up to the MLB team.

This one is really easy. Normally, you get to start the minors in AA because of an injury. Which, helps you to show your manager what you got. At first, it is going to be hard to shine, but as you play, you will become better. Just always upgrade your stats. Also, you need to keep your stats stable or else your manager won't look to you as a great player, although you may be a great hitter. He looks at everything. So maintain those stats and it will take 2 years minimum if you play most of the games. For me, it took 1 year simulating, so I got lucky.

[top]
Stop Thief!
Steal 3 bases in a single RttS game.

Ok, for this easy trophy, make sure your hitting stats are full as well as your speed. As long as you have those full, then there is nothing stopping you from getting this trophy. Make sure you steal second and third base when you get this trophy, just in case you only get on twice. And that stay on first when you get a base hit (unless it is an opprotunity to hit for the cycle of course).

[top]
RttS Streaker (Batter)
Have a 10 game regular season hitting streak in Road to the Show. Simulating games in which your RttS player appears will restart the streak.

See RttS Streaker (Batter).

[top]
RttS Streaker (Batter)
Have a 20 game regular season hitting streak in Road to the Show. Simulating games in which your RttS player appears will restart the streak.

See RttS Streaker (Batter).

[top]
RttS Streaker (Batter)
Have a 50 game regular season hitting streak in Road to the Show. Simulating games in which your RttS player appears will restart the streak.

This trophy is pretty easy also. You really don't need to get into RttS that much, but I did because it is easier. What you have to do is turn auto-save off. Then play and each game get a hit. If you don't get a hit, lucky you, quit game and start it back up. But make sure you save afer every game.

[top]
RttS Streaker (Pitcher)
Have a 5 game regular season win streak in Road to the Show. Simulating games in which your RttS player appears will restart the streak.

See RttS Streaker (Pitcher).

[top]
RttS Streaker (Pitcher)
Have a 10 game regular season win streak in Road to the Show. Simulating games in which your RttS player appears will restart the streak.

See RttS Streaker (Pitcher).

[top]
RttS Streaker (Pitcher)
Have a 15 game regular season win streak in Road to the Show. Simulating games in which your RttS player appears will restart the streak.

Again, you should work your way up, but if you are lazy because it does take quite a while, what you need to do is after every win, save the game. And if you lose, quit game and go back into it. This takes a while also, because you MUST play every situation you are in. You can be a relief pitcher for this, as long as you don't skip you situations. Also, a reminder, turn auto-save off, just in case you accidentally forgot to quit game after a loss.

[top]
RttS Added Value
Win any Award in RttS. (MLB only).

See RttS MVP.

[top]
RttS MVP
Win the MVP award in RttS (MLB only).

This trophy, as you can see, can only be done in the majors. So, first off, the best one to use is batter because how often does a pitcher win MVP? Well, in this game at least, never. So try, try, and try, and go after this trophy when you go after the 50 game hit streak because it gives you a boost, really, for MVP. The reson is because having a hit a game, first, makes you clutch, and second boosts your average. So this trophy will be gotten way into your career, but is easy to get after the effort.

[top]
RttS The Cycle
Hit for the Cycle with your RttS player.

I got lucky with this trophy, and really, it is all about luck. This trophy requires you to get a single, double, triple, and homerun. If you batter has terrible speed, then you really need to work on that. The triple I got in Citi Field and if you hit the ball just right, you can get a good hop in the Moe's Zone or off that 20 foot high wall out in right field. Either that, or really work on that speed. Also, this is probably one of the last trophy's you are getting in the batter RttS, and it can be frustrating, but just keep working at it.

NOTE:For RTTS The Cycle, you can have max speed by getting the fast run profile reward. Thanks to KileyJ for the tip.

[top]
Personal Perfection
Throw a perfect game on All-Star or higher difficulty using your RTTS player.

This will probably be the last trophy you get if you get to that point. All I can say is let that hard work and effort out right here. If not, check out what JasonMraz (that's his psn) did, his glitch. Word is that it is not patched up, but since it hasn't worked for me, I think it is. He says you have to download his roster but whatever. Try your best and I wish you luck.

If you have trouble doing it that way, here is a trick to getting this trophy easier. The All-Star Game! During the all-star game, you must pitch 3 innings and give up no hits. Pitching 3 innings should be no big deal seeing that you even made it to the all-star game. The batters are harder yet you're better. Because it is an all-star game, as dajmer said, you only need to pitch 3 innings for an official game, NOT 5. Also, you're team needs to carry out a win for you. Thank to dajmer79 for the Personal Perfection Tip!!!

Official MLB 09: The Show Boosting Thread

This trophy is pretty hard by yourself, so I am willing to boost. Just click on the link above and let's get started. I have an easy way to boost too. Ok, we each make accounts with emails and trade. Only 6 accounts are needed including ours. One person has the accounts and joins the league. Set up a time to do this, and when ready, trade off who is getting the trophy. Then play 1 inning and then let the person not getting the trophy offer up a draw and when accepted, it counts as a win for the one getting the trophy. This should take about an hour so it is pretty easy, easier than it normally is.

[top]
It takes time (Hits)
Get 1000 hits in any combination of modes.

You will get this during your journey of RttS, trust me.

[top]
It takes time (Strike Outs)
Strike out 500 batters in any combination of modes.

Yet again, you will get this during your journey of RttS, trust me.

[top]
It takes time (RBI)
Get 1500 RBI in any combination of modes.

Again, you will get this during your journey of RttS, trust me.

[top]
It takes time (HR)
Get 300 homerun's in any combination of modes.

Last time, you will get this during your journey of RttS, trust me.

[top]
It happens to everyone
Lose 100 games.

You will get this through RttS again. Simulating does not count, but it will take a while, esspecially if you are a team like the yankees (who I bitterly hate for the record).

[top]
Managerial
Win a Manager Mode game. Can be completed in Manager Mode Season and Franchise.

Another easy trophy. Put on manager mode in exhibition and make it Golden Era vs. a AA team. Then watch some tv. Probably the easiest trophy possible in this game.

[top]
Shut em' out
Throw a Shut Out vs. the CPU on All-Star or higher difficulty.

This trophy can be easily gotten because in franchise, you can save between innings like mention earlier. So do that and you are good to go.
