[top]Tips & Strategies

1) Play the whole game solo, not co-op. The reason is, if you control someone other than Megamind, you won’t unlock the trophies, and you might switch characters accidentally.
2) Destroying objects and enemies releases B.I.N.K.E.Y. but it won’t float to you automatically—you have to go pick it up yourself. The B.I.N.K.E.Y. disappears, so don't wait too long.
3) You may want to adjust the settings of your surround-sound system for this game. Specifically, you may want to turn the bass down. When I played, Megamind running over a cardboard box shook the floor in my apartment.
4) Even though you only need a little bit of B.I.N.K.E.Y. (3,150, all in one level, to be exact) to earn all the B.I.N.K.E.Y.-related trophies, collecting as much as you can will allow you to upgrade your weapons sooner. It’s probably not necessary, but it will make the game go by quicker. To fully-upgrade all of your weapons you’ll need 41,000 B.I.N.K.E.Y. although that is not a requirement for trophies. I finished with 22,000 B.I.N.K.E.Y. earned (and spent) and I basically ran through the game. Everything was ridiculously easy anyway.
5) Health does not regenerate during game play, no matter who/what you destroy nor how much B.I.N.K.E.Y. you pick up. So if you’re about to go into a boss fight (there are notes on what to look for below) just off yourself to ensure you go in with full health.

B.I.N.K.E.Y. = Blue Ion Nano Kinetic EnergY (just fyi) = blue orbs you'll see everywhere in the game

[top]
Museum Master
Complete “The Museum” Level as Megamind

Story related and cannot be missed, so long as you're controlling Megamind at the end. Try to finish this level without dying for the Mega-Skill trophy. At some point it’ll look like you’ve missed a floor with B.I.N.K.E.Y. on it. Don’t worry! You’ll come back down to it a little later in the level. You can easily get over 2000 B.I.N.K.E.Y. in this level, to earn you Assistant Collector and Collector.

[top]
Downtown Domination
Complete “Downtown” Level as Megamind

Story related and cannot be missed, so long as you're controlling Megamind at the end. You can easily get over 5000 B.I.N.K.E.Y. in this level, which will more than earn you Mega Collector. Also, Pod Race unlocks at the end of this level.

[top]
Destruction Doom
Complete “Demolition Site” Level as Megamind

Story related and cannot be missed, so long as you're controlling Megamind at the end. Try to finish the boss without dying for the Destruction Derby trophy. You’ll work your way down a nearly-destroyed but abandoned office building. This is the section right before the boss fight. Just pound through the goons to go into the battle with as much health as possible. If you're low on health when you get to the goons, let them take you out. You'll restart right there and have a better chance of entering the boss fight with full health. See Destruction Derby for an explanation of the boss fight.

[top]
Tickets Please
Complete “The Underground” Level as Megamind

Story related and cannot be missed, so long as you're controlling Megamind at the end. There are a LOT of goons in this level. Your weapons auto-aim, so just keep mashing to take out the pitiful swarms of enemies. You don’t have to worry about collecting B.I.N.K.E.Y. or completing the level without dying. At the end you’ll unlock Mega-Ball.

[top]
Funky Fumes
Complete “The Sewers” Level as Megamind

Story related and cannot be missed, so long as you're controlling Megamind at the end. This level is long. The purple gas is toxic so just blow it out of the way with the Blower Gun. Watch out for sinking boxes and collapsing wooden platforms. At the end you’ll unlock Rampage.

[top]
Funky Disco
Compete “Funky Disco” Level as Megamind

Story related and cannot be missed, so long as you're controlling Megamind at the end. Try to finish the boss without dying for the Psychotic Win trophy. There is more purple gas, so be sure to blow it away with your Blower Gun. If you don’t have full health when you enter the area with the giant metal mouth/face, let the enemies take you down. Then take them all down, solve the puzzle, and proceed to the boss fight. See Psychotic Win for an explanation of the boss fight.

[top]
Uptown Hero
Complete “Uptown” Level as Megamind

Story related and cannot be missed, so long as you're controlling Megamind at the end. The pink fire creates an impenetrable barrier that does damage to you. Stay away from it. If there’s still pink fire, there are more goons to take out. This level is pretty short, making it another good candidate for achieving Mega-Skill if you haven’t already. You’ll pop the Mega-Blast trophy at the end of this level.

[top]
Hot Pavement
Complete “The Overpass” Level as Megamind

Story related and cannot be missed, so long as you're controlling Megamind at the end. There will be more pink fire and pink-haired goons. Try not to get hit by the gravity-defying projectile spaghetti . At the end of this level you’ll unlock Sticky Boots.

[top]
Hot Flash Sizzle
Complete “The Parklands” Level as Megamind

Story related and cannot be missed, so long as you're controlling Megamind at the end. Try to finish the boss without dying for the Flash in the Pan trophy. When you get to the point where you’re crossing the big stone bridge and you see/hear the train moving in the distance, check your health level. If it’s not full, let the next group of enemies take you out, because the boss fight is right after. Take out all but one enemy then sacrifice yourself in the fire. You’ll respawn with full health and only that one enemy left to take out. Kill him and proceed to the boss fight. See Flash in the Pan for an explanation of the boss fight.

[top]
Tame Blue Tighten
Complete “Blue Tighten Battle” Level as Megamind

Story related and cannot be missed, so long as you're controlling Megamind at the end. Try to finish the boss without dying for the Tightanic Battle trophy. The boss fight is the only part of this level, so don’t worry about how much health you have. See the Tightanic Battle trophy for an explanation of the boss fight.

[top]
Destruction Derby
Defeat Destruction Worker without dying as Megamind

This is a pretty easy boss fight. First, you’ll have to defeat three goons on either side of the boss. Then, you’ll have to dodge some exploding items launched by the boss. Then you’ll have to place the dynamite in the blue circle up near the boss while dodging the wrecking ball. Then you’ll blow up the dynamite. Repeat these steps two more times without dying to pop this trophy.

[top]
Psychotic Win
Defeat Psycho Delic without dying as Megamind

The boss will stay up on the catwalk level and you’ll fight minions on the bottom level. Be careful not to get touched by the purple gas/flames that come(s) up from the dance floor as this depletes your health quickly. The boss will stand in one of five places. Below each place is a switch for you to trigger. If you trigger a switch while the boss stands above it, he’ll get a blast of steam to the face. Do this three times total to take him down, don’t die, and the trophy will pop.

[top]
Flash in the Pan
Defeat Hot Flash without dying as Megamind

This may be the second easiest boss fight in the game. At first, kill off all the enemies. Then the boss will fire three fireballs at you. You can evade these just by running from side to side. Watch for one of the three fire hydrants to start spraying more than the other two. Go over to that one and pump to damage the boss. Repeat this whole cycle 2x more without dying to pop this trophy.

[top]
Tightanic Battle
Defeat Blue Tighten without dying as Megamind

This is the easiest boss fight in the game. You’ll sit in the cockpit of an armored suit and all you can control is where to aim the laser beam and when to fire. There is no overheat feature. You’ll fight through three different sections of town, during all of which the boss will be throwing large rocks at you and trying to nail you with columns he’s ripped off of the buildings. In each stage, your job is to shoot the rocks and columns out of his hands before he does damage to you with them. After a little while, the ceiling of the building he’s ripped apart will come down on him and take away 1/3 of his health. Then you’ll move to the next area. Repeat the process 2x more without dying to pop this trophy. If you’ve been following this guide up until now and haven’t missed anything, you’ll get to enjoy three ’s in a row, plus the .
