Unlock the Platinum trophy by unlocking all other trophies.
The platinum trophy is unlocked after all other trophies are acquired, with the exception of the South Central trophy set - they are DLC and do not count toward this trophy. Dedication and patience are key here, as earning every trophy is both time consuming, and frustrating at times.
Win 5 races in a row offline.
This is easily achieved at any point during the game, but more-so at the start of the career campaign when your competition is minimal. Freeway races are a good choice at not only raking in wins, but also easy money, so don't forget about them.
Neither Bird nor Plane
Travel 1020 feet in a single jump.
You need a fast vehicle to pull this off. I recommend one of the following four: Ducati 1098R, Kawasaki Ninja ZX14, Saleen S7, and Lamborghini Murcielago. The bikes are better at maneuvering and maintaining top speed, so they're your best bets. Remember you can always test drive these vehicles if you don't have the proper funds to purchase them, and want to get the trophy out of the way early.
There are several areas in the game where you can achieve this distance off a jump. The most well known is on 4th street, just after taking the off-ramp from the freeway. There is a huge staircase you can drive up while boosting that will send you flying, and should easily net you anywhere from 1000-1100 feet. Check the YouTube video below.
Another, lesser-known, area is part of the South Central pack. There's an ordered race called "Out of the River" that includes several prime jumps that will get you this trophy easily. I used the Ninja bike on it, and my best jump was 1230 feet.
Pull over while the police are in 'pull over' mode, then drive away during the ticketing cutscene.
Start by committing a mild infraction where a police cruiser is present (they are marked as dark blue arrows on your GPS). Speeding and running a red light work great. Once you've got their attention, you'll see "pull over" displayed below your odometer. Do so, and wait until the cutscene is triggered with the officer walking up to your car. From here, simply hit the gas and take off.
Out On Bail
Evade the police successfully when they are in pursuit.
You can earn this trophy right after getting Wanted Man
, as the police are quite easy to give the slip. Use shortcuts and be sure to mix up your route as opposed to driving straight. Better still, hop on the freeway and watch them disappear from your GPS in record time.
Complete one of the missions you receive in the mission log.
This will probably be one of the first trophies you get. Most of the early missions involve driving to a predetermined location to meet someone, which will usually trigger further missions. Do so and you've got yourself an easy bronze.
Save 16 photos to your photo album.
Photos can be taken at any point during the game. Press
to pause the game and move the right analog stick in any direction. You'll now be in camera mode where you can zoom in and out and pan the camera. Press
to snap a photo, and then save it in your album. Repeat until your album is full, and the trophy will unlock.
What's a Speed Limit?
Win 15 dynamic freeway races.
One of your missions early on will be to win 6 freeway races. If you want to get this out of the way sooner than later, simply continue winning freeway races until you reach 15 wins. These races are a quick and easy way to boost your win total, and you'll probably use this method later on anyway to meet the win requirement to race the current champs (tuner champ, muscle champ, etc.).
Saving Los Angeles
Enter the Race Editor, create a race, and then save it.
The Race Editor is located in the pause menu. Load it and simply create a race. It can be as long or as short as you want, so long as it has a start and finish. Save it when you're done and the trophy is yours.
Where in the World?
Find half of the collectibles in Los Angeles.
There are 60 Rockstar barrels/collectibles scattered across L.A. that you need to find. Find 30 of them to unlock this trophy.
Click the link below for a detailed map that lists where every barrel is. They are numbered exactly as how they appear from the pause menu, so if you're missing any specific ones, simply match the numbers.
Midnight Club L.A. barrel locations.
Drive a cumulative total of 50 miles while doing a wheelie on a motorcycle.
To perform a wheelie, press and hold the weight shift button and pull back on the left analog stick. Be careful how far you pull back though, or you'll flip your bike.
This can be done online and offline, so keep at it until you've reached the required amount. Most races have a straightaway of some sort before the finish line, and if you pull a wheelie every race this way the 50 mile total will come sooner than you think. Online cruises work great too, as you have no traffic or police to contend with. Simply hop on the freeway and wheelie to your hearts content. It should take around 20-30 minutes doing it this way.
Just Get A Motorcycle
In a car, drive a cumulative total of 50 miles on 2 wheels.
Refer to Unicycle
trophy. Unlike a bike, you have to press either left or right on the analog stick instead of up or down, plus the weight transfer button.
Winning With Less
Win 10 races on a motorcycle.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX14 and Ducati 1098R are two of the best vehicles in the game. There's a bit of a learning curve with them when you drive them for the first time, but once you master the handling you're set, as they can lay waste to even the best exotic cars. Just remember that you can't plow through traffic the same way you can with cars. They also damage out faster, so try and stay on the road. You'll end up winning a lot more than 10 races en route to the Two Wheels of Fury
trophy, so I wouldn't worry about this one at all.
Hear me Roar!
Unlock Level 3 ROAR.
Early in your career, Karol will advise you that you can now use special abilities for your vehicles. For this particular trophy, select it from the "customize" option in a garage, under "special abilities". The more you use it (both in and out of races) the faster you'll progress to the next level.
Unlock Level 3 AGRO.
Refer to Hear me Roar!
Unlock Level 3 ZONE.

Go on Green
Win 15 Red Light Races.
These races require you to get from point A to point B. They're all pretty easy for the most part, especially if you're familiar with the entire L.A. map. If you're not sure of the quickest route, hang back at the start and follow the AI's lead. Once you can see the route he's planning, boost out ahead and hold the lead. EMP is especially handy here, as you can trigger it if you mess up and don't want the AI to pass you.
Destroyer of Worlds
Successfully destroy 15 opponent vehicles using the Payback vehicle at the Beaches garage.
You only need to destroy 5 or 6 vehicles to complete the actual mission, so you'll have to replay this mission two more times to get the trophy. The good thing is you can adjust the difficulty to the easiest setting if the default medium setting is too troublesome. Doing it this way gives you a slightly longer time frame, and less overall damage that needs to be inflicted on each car.
Here for a Pickup
Successfully deliver 15 vehicles out of the Hollywood garage.
Some of these can prove to be a real pain, mainly delivering any exotic brands. In most cases, the time frame you're given requires you to pick the perfect route followed by a near-perfect run. Make sure to plan ahead before starting; press
and try to map out your route. If you forget the route while driving, simply press
again for a refresher.
If a particular vehicle delivery is giving you trouble, skip it and choose the next race. There are more than 15 total deliveries, so you don't have to do every one that is given to you.
Win each of the 4 tournaments at least one time.
Tournaments will become available during your career in each of the four areas of the city - Downtown, Hollywood, Hills, and Beach. Simply win each tournament once to unlock the trophy.
Tournament opponents offer more of a challenge, so be prepared. Use any shortcuts to maintain your lead, and don't be afraid to play dirty, if necessary. Drafting other cars is normally a great idea, but here you might want to ram them instead. I highly recommend equipping EMP too; it can be a real life-saver if you need to halt the AI in their tracks.
Finish the first mission for each of the 4 time trials.
Similar to the Competitive Glory
trophy, time trials will become available in each of the four areas of the city during your career. The key here is to not finish as fast as possible. Doing so will only make the next mission harder to beat, as you'll have to best your previous run. If you reach the finish with time to spare, hang tight and let the clock run down. When there's only a few seconds left on the clock, finish the race. Do this for any and all subsequent time trials, and you'll beat them with nary a problem.
In the Lap of…
Beat the Luxury Champ.
After you beat the City Champ, the remaining champs will be come calling, so long as you meet the required win total. 35 wins in a luxury vehicle will earn you a shot at this champ. The recommended vehicle of choice here is a tricked-out Mercedes SL65 AMG, which will get you the win easily. If you want the champ to pose more of a challenge, go with a Cadillac XLRV instead.
Name that Tuner
Beat the Tuner Champ.
After you beat the City Champ, the remaining champs will be come calling, so long as you meet the required win total. I was using Tuner cars and bikes quite often during my career, and the champ came calling immediately after I beat the city champ, so I'm not sure of the exact number of wins needed. I had 83 wins at the time, however. A Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X or 3000 GT will get the job done here.
Beat the Muscle Champ.
After you beat the City Champ, the remaining champs will be come calling, so long as you meet the required win total. 54 wins in a muscle car will earn you a shot at this champ. Go with a Corvette Z06 to dominate the champ.
Completely unlock a time trial by completing all 3 missions.
Refer to Uncle Time
trophy and use those tips for each stage of a time trial.
Two Wheels of Fury
Beat the Motorcycle Champ.
After you beat the City Champ, the remaining champs will be come calling, so long as you meet the required win total. I was using Tuner cars and bikes quite often during my career, and the champ came calling immediately after I beat the city champ, so I'm not sure of the exact number of wins needed. I had 68 wins at the time, however. Your only real options here are the Kawasaki Ninja and Ducati 1098R, and either of them will get the job done.
Beat the Exotic Champ.
After you beat the City Champ, the remaining champs will be come calling, so long as you meet the required win total. 35 wins in an exotic car will earn you a shot at this champ. The champ will be driving a Ford GT and will actually give you a run for your money, so you'll have to race clean lines in order to beat him. Using either a Saleen S7 or Lamborghini Murcielago will make matters a bit easier, as they can both handle tight corners and curves better than the GT. Make sure to have EMP ready, just in case.
Have Car, Will Travel
Drive a total of 5,000 miles, including any miles driven online or offline.
Technically an easy trophy, but one that requires a lot of time and dedication. To put it into perspective, I beat the game and every available mission, putting me at 100% completion, and had only driven 3200 miles. Expect to put in some extra time driving around aimlessly, even after getting all the online trophies and goal attacks. For most people this will be the last trophy needed before platinum, so just keep driving and don't forget you can check your stats for total miles driven from the pause menu.
Rags To Riches
Have $1 million dollars in the bank while playing in Los Angeles.
This will happen during your career progression, and is actually required to partner up with Karol and beat the game. Earning this much money means winning a lot of races, regardless of any selectable difficulties, so just keep at it and the money will slowly add up.
Avoid unnecessary spending on upgrades for vehicles that you're not currently using. Focus on what you're driving at the time, and nothing else. You'll have the chance to trick out all of your cars to your hearts content for free after completion of the game, so wait until then.
Tip: Keep an eye out for one of the DUB tournaments that offers a Lamborghini Murcielago DUB Edition as a reward for winning on hard difficulty. It has a resale value of over $300,000!
Win 180 offline races.
This trophy will unlock through natural progression of the game - roughly 50-60% completion. Just keep racing and pay this one no mind. Not hard.
Waldo's Still Missing
Find all the collectibles in Los Angeles.
Refer to Where in the World?
It's How You Play The Game
Finish 300 offline races. Winning is not required.
Similar to The Winner
trophy, this trophy will unlock through natural progression of the game. If you're aiming for 100% game completion, you will have raced in well over 400 races, so don't worry about this one.
Retire the Master
Beat the City Champ.
This is one of the last story-related missions in the game, so it's impossible to miss if you're aiming for 100% completion. Go with whatever vehicle you're most comfortable with, and annihilate him to become the new city champ. It's only a single race, and he doesn't put up much of a fight.
Getting Off the Bench
Enter an online cruise and join a proposed race.
From the online menu, select "quick cruise". Either wait for someone to propose a race, or propose one yourself from the pause screen. Once accepted and the race starts, the trophy will unlock.
ho Made This?
Enter a Race Editor Race online.
Similar to Getting Off the Bench
, except the race needs to be user-created. Once the race launches, the trophy will unlock. You don't even have to start the race, technically.
Turn in the Work
Submit a vehicle to Rate My Ride.
From the pause menu select Online > Rate My Ride. You will be taken to the garage with your current vehicle, and you can now take a couple of pictures and submit it to the online community for others to rate. You can choose to change vehicles from the menu if you don't want to submit your current one. Once uploaded, the trophy will unlock.
Everyone's a Critic
Rate 25 rides online.
You can rate other people's rides from the Rate My Ride area. You will be given a bunch of random vehicles to rate. Simply rate 25 of them and the trophy will unlock.
Crossing the Line
Finish 50 races online.
Win or lose, it doesn't matter. So long as you finish an online race, it will go toward this amount. This includes any CTF/Battle matches, Tiered races, and Race Editor races that you will compete in for their respective trophies.
Tip: If you have a boosting partner and want to speed this trophy up, start a private Capture the Flag match. Choose any map and set the amount of flags needed to win to 1. If you're using an A-class vehicle, each match will only take 15-30 seconds to complete. Repeat, and you should get the trophy in about half an hour.
Steal 80 flags while playing Capture the Flag or other battle matches.
If you have a boosting partner, this trophy can be earned in no time. Load up a CTF match on any map. When the match starts, have you and your buddy head to where the flag is. Once the flag is picked up, the other player needs to park right next to the flag bearer's vehicle, so that they're touching. Now, sit back, and watch the flag bounce from car to car. This will take around 12-15 minutes, and as soon as you reach the 80 mark, the trophy will unlock.
Deliver 100 flags in Capture the Flag or other battle matches.
Similar to the above Master Thief
trophy, this trophy is much easier to accomplish if you have a boosting partner. Simply grab 100 flags from whatever map you choose, and deliver them to your base. If you're going back and forth with someone who also needs the trophy, expect this to take anywhere from 1-2 hours to complete, depending on map size. Use an "A" class vehicle to speed up delivery times.
Win 20 Tiered Matches online.
Unless you're confident in your racing skills, get someone to help you boost this. Start by choosing a lower class vehicle (B or C). Most people who race competitively in tiered matches do so with A class vehicles, so you probably won't find much - if any - competition in lower class cars. This decreases the odds of a stranger joining your match. In C class vehicles, there's no need to adjust any parameters; simply pick a "quick match" and wait for your buddy to join you. Once he/she is in the room, press start to launch the race. Keep repeating this procedure until the trophy unlocks, and remember these races contribute toward the Crossing the Line
All Goal attacks must be unlocked and every goal for every race completed.
This is an incredibly time consuming trophy, and will almost feel like you're playing through the entire game all over again. With the exception of Landmark races, all races will unlock simply by completing all missions you receive in your log. Landmark races are unlocked by competing in Red Light races. You'll unlock a good chunk of them while going for the Go on Green
trophy, but there might be a few missed. In this case, you'll need to drive around whatever area of the city it is that you're missing them from and find them. The game will display a notice on the screen saying "Red Light racer discovered". Race him/her, and a new set of Landmark races will be added to the Goal Attacks.
To access Goal Attacks, pause the game and press
to switch to modes. Choose Goal Attack. Here you have 4 categories to choose from (excluding Race Favorites). In order to successfully complete a Goal Attack, you need to meet the following criteria: finish in 1st place, finish the race with less than 25% damage (the yellow marker on your odometer is the 25% cutoff), finish the race in under the time-frame given, and complete all goals in the same race. The major pain here is the 25% damage - many times one solid wreck can put you over that amount; in which case, you'll need to restart. I highly recommend using either the Kawasaki Ninja or Ducati 1098R for every challenge.
See below for an ordered listing of every Goal Attack race. To make things easier, I have color-coded them in relation to the area of the city they are unlocked in - Hollywood
, and Hills
. There are 74 in total.
In Goal Attack, complete every goal for one race.
Refer to True Dedication
Spend more than 10 minutes in the air. Brought to you by JORDAN BRAND.
This trophy will come through natural progression of the game. 10 total minutes may seem like a long time, but considering how many jumps there are scattered throughout the city and in races, you'll get this trophy a lot sooner than you think. Remember you can check your statistics from the pause menu if you want to get an idea of where you're at.
Set To Stun
Unlock Level 3 EMP.
Refer to Hear me Roar!
Join an online game with 5 of your friends. Stay Connected with MyFaves from T-Mobile.
Unless you have less than 50 people on your friends list, this trophy is going to give you problems, as the game only recognizes the first 50 people on your list. If you're looking to boost this trophy, have more than 50 friends who don't play/own this game, and want to add more people to help with it, expect to delete a good chunk of your friends list. It's a problem that existed when the game first came out, and still exists today.
Once you're in a room (preferably private) with 5 of your friends, the trophy will unlock. You might have to drive around a bit before it unlocks, but you don't have to enter any sort of race to trigger it.
Meet the South Central Mechanic.
If you're playing the "Complete Edition", you'll get a call from Karol early on in your career telling you to meet up with Doc at his garage in South Central. Simply drive there to unlock the location and the trophy is yours.
Alternately, as part of the DLC pack, you'll be pointed in Doc's direction almost immediately after installing and starting the game.
South Central Test Drive
Take 1 South Central vehicle out for a test drive.
Below is a list of all the vehicles that pertain to the South Central pack:
- 1963 Buick Riviera (Lowrider Class)
- 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air (Lowrider Class)
- 1964 Chevrolet Impala (Lowrider Class)
- 1965 Chevrolet Malibu (Lowrider Class)
- 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS (Muscle Class)
- 1966 Pontiac GTO (Muscle Class)
- 2008 Land Rover Range Rover Supercharged (SUV Class)
- 2008 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Supercharged (SUV Class)
- 2008 Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG "Black Series" (Luxury Class)
When you're in a garage, go to the "vehicle showroom" and press
to take any of these vehicles out for a test drive. The trophy will unlock immediately afterward.
Win 10 races in an SUV.
There are only 2 SUV's to choose from, and both offer nearly identical performance stats. The Range Rover Sport is nearly $20K cheaper, however, and I recommend going with that one. It actually offers better speed and handling than the Range Rover Supercharged.
Once you get your hands on an SUV, you'll be given a mission objective where you have to win 6 races with it. These can be races of any type, so take your pick from the map screen. The green color-coded races are the easiest, so choose them if you don't want much of a challenge. Simply keep racing after completing the mission until you've accumulated 10 wins, and the trophy will unlock.
Win 10 races in a Low Rider.
There are 4 different Low Rider vehicles to choose from, and I found the Impala and Malibu to be the best overall. This trophy works the same as the above Big Ballin'
trophy, so refer to that for tips and strategies.
Complete 10 deliveries in South Central.
Refer to Here for a Pickup
You are supposed to deliver more B and C class vehicles here, which makes this delivery mission much easier than the Hollywood one. Overall, treat this the same way you did in the other delivery mission, and you shouldn't have any problems.
Easier than the Hills
Complete the South Central tournament.
Refer to Competitive Glory
trophy. The South Central tournament will unlock after competing in - and winning - several South Central standard races. I found this particular tournament easier than the previous four, but you should still choose your best vehicle to compete in it with.
Money for nothing
Complete the South Central Wager Mission.
This wager mission will become available after completing several races. Your goal here is to win $5000. Go with whatever difficulty you're most comfortable with, as this trophy is not affected by difficulty type. If you're using either the Ducati or Kawasaki bikes, you can demolish the competition even on the hardest difficulty.
Note that depending on what order you're doing the races in, the wager mission might not unlock until after you beat the South Central champ (see Been there, Done That
Complete the 3 missions for the South Central time trial.
Refer to Father Time
trophy. This time trial will become available as you compete in more and more South Central races.
Been there, Done That
Finish the South Central career.
Once you complete the South Central time trials and tournament, you will get a call from the current South Central champ, Raymond. Accept his challenge and once you beat him (which isn't remotely hard) and become the new champ, the trophy will unlock.
Finish all South Central Goal Attacks.
This trophy is a direct extension of True Dedication
, so refer to that trophy for specific details.
All South Central Goal Attack races will unlock simply by completing all missions you receive in your log. See below for an ordered listing of every Goal Attack race. There are 26 in total.
