[top]Introduction

NCAA Football is EA Sports' annual game for College football that comes out 1 month before Madden Football every year at the beginning of the college football season. You can play as your favorite school in offline or online Dynasty modes or start a player from high school in Road to Glory mode and then play on your favorite college team. Hardcore fans will like that the players are the same players that play in college even if their names are not used and truly hardcore players might even put in some of the correct player names and export their players when they decide to leave for the NFL draft to use in Madden 11.

[top]Tips and Strategies

  • During the game in the play calling screens for Offense and Defense, if you press the you can set your team's offensive and defensive strategies. This is very important!! Make sure you don't just bypass this screen. You can set them however you want but this is what I recommend:
    OFFENSE
    • Get Open: Aggressive
    • Holding Blocks: Normal
    • Impact Blocks: Normal
    • Catching: Conservative
    • Big Run: Aggressive (Good RB), Normal (Average RB)
    • Tempo: Normal

    DEFENSE
    • Big Hits: Aggressive (Good Defense), Normal (Average Defense)
    • Strip Ball: Normal
    • Zone Coverage: Normal
    • Defensive Line: Normal
    • Pass Defense: Aggressive
    • Option Defense: Normal
    • QB Contain: Conservative

  • New players should play on at least Varsity level, seasoned players should play on at least All-American or higher. If you are having trouble and are new to football you can earn trophies on Freshman.
  • If you are playing Exhibition games for trophies set yourself up as one of the good football programs such as Ohio State or Alabama and make the computer a team such as San Jose State or New Mexico State
  • Playbooks are very important. Do you like to play with Florida but hate their wide open style of play and constant shotguns? After you pick your team you can pick any playbook on Offense and Defense so make sure you pick one that suits your gameplay style.
  • In road to Glory Mode it is unnecessary to do weekly practices if you are already the starter, HOWEVER, keep an eye on your GPA and if it starts to fall below 3.5 make sure you study during the week to bring your GPA back up. If it falls to low, the game will not let you play, much like real life.
  • This is a sports game and as with every sports game there are several effective ways to get the trophies. I have listed the strategies that I feel for work best for a wide range of users but what works best for you might be different. If you find an alternate strategy that works well, please list it here and as long as its not completely changing the game of football, I will add it to the guide

Platinum Trophy
Unlock every trophy

This will unlock when you unlock all the rest of the trophies for NCAA Football 11.

[top]
Air Raid
Score 35+ points in a game running an Air Raid offense (excludes co-op).

The Air Raid Offense uses a balanced attack that utilizes as many receivers as possible. This trophy is easy enough. it doesn't matter if you win or lose this game as long as you score 35 or more points in the game. You can use your favorite team and change the playbook to the Air Raid Offense Playbook by pressing either or on the playbook/profile screen after you pick your team. The offense specific playbooks are located before all the College Playbooks. If you are really having trouble with this you can extend the game time to longer quarters in the Dynasty House Rules menu. This trophy will unlock at the end of the game and you can get this trophy in the same game as the Mix It Up trophy.

For more info on this Offense view the NCAA 11 Offense Trailer above.

[top]
Mix It Up
Rush for 100+ yards in a game with an Air Raid offense (excludes co-op).

The Air Raid Offense uses a balanced attack that utilizes as many receivers as possible. Another easy trophy if you pick a team with a good RB OR QB. This trophy can be tricky as it IS NOT based on single player stats it is based on Team Stats. What this means is that you need to have 100 yards or more in your Team Stats category at the end of the game. This is much more difficult than it sounds, because every sack you take with your QB will count against your total rushing stats. There are two ways you can handle this, you can either run the ball the entire game, or run part of the game and throw quick timing passes to keep your sack total down. This trophy will unlock at the end of the game and you can get this trophy in the same game as the Air Raid trophy.

For more info on this Offense view the NCAA 11 Offense Trailer above.

[top]
Multiple Offense
Call at least one play from 10 different formation sets using a Multiple offense (excludes co-op).

The Multiple Offense is a balanced system that uses a variety of formations and plays in order to keep the defense off balance. For this trophy you only need to play one Offensive play from 10 different formations. This does not mean 10 different alignments! For instance in the I Formation, you may have these Formations: I Twins, I Normal, and I Jumbo those each count as one so if you run one play from each you will have 3 total. Once you hit 10 the trophy is yours. You can use your favorite team and change the playbook to the Multiple Offense Playbook by pressing either or on the playbook/profile screen after you pick your team. The Run Balanced Offense is also considered a Multiple Offense! The offense specific playbooks are located before all the College Playbooks. If you are really having trouble with this you can extend the game time to longer quarters in the Dynasty House Rules menu. This trophy will unlock as soon as you run the 10 different formation plays.

For more info on this Offense view the NCAA 11 Offense Trailer above.

[top]
One Back
Run a One Back offense and gain 200 yards rushing in a game (excludes co-op).

The One Back Offense is designed to spread the defense out in order to create inside running lanes for the RB. Another easy trophy if you follow a couple steps, pick a team with a very good RB or fast QB, make sure you change your playbook and call a lot of running plays. This is a team based trophy and NOT an individual based trophy so your TEAM rushing stats must be over 200 yards at the end of the game. SACKS ON YOUR QB WILL COUNT AGAINST YOUR RUSHING YARDAGE TOTAL! You can use your favorite team and change the playbook to the One Back Offense Playbook by pressing either or on the playbook/profile screen after you pick your team. The offense specific playbooks are located before all the College Playbooks. If you are really having trouble with this you can extend the game time to longer quarters in the Dynasty House Rules menu. This trophy will unlock at the end of the game.

For more info on this Offense view the NCAA 11 Offense Trailer above.

[top]
Options
Score 35+ points in a game running an Option offense (excludes co-op).

The Options Offense is a run first system that uses the Option as its foundation of the offense. For this trophy I suggest a team with a good fast QB and a good RB such as Ohio State. You can get this with any team but it will be more difficult. The key to a successful option is to always be running downhill with your QB. From the snap of the ball your goal as the QB is to turn up the field on the first opening you see. You want to run laterally as little as possible. After you turn up the field remember that if your RB is still trailing you can still make the pitch even if you are 10 yards down the field. The most successful Option, QBs will wait until they are going to get hit and pitch the ball milliseconds before impact and take the hit for the team to execute a flawless play. If there is someone in between you and the RB DO NOT attempt a pitch or the CPU will intercept the ball! If you can score 35 or more points by perfecting this Offense the trophy is yours. You can use your favorite team and change the playbook to the Option Offense Playbook by pressing either or on the playbook/profile screen after you pick your team. The offense specific playbooks are located before all the College Playbooks. If you are really having trouble with this you can extend the game time to longer quarters in the Dynasty House Rules menu. This trophy will unlock at the end of the game and you can get this trophy in the same game as the Throw 'Em A Curveball trophy.

For more info on this Offense view the NCAA 11 Offense Trailer above.

[top]
Throw 'Em a Curveball
Throw for 300 yards in one game using an Option offense (excludes co-op).

The Options Offense is a run first system that uses the Option as its foundation of the offense. This trophy is different from the running option trophy because you will need a good QB in terms of passing and not speed and good receivers to complete this task. Once you hit 300 yards Passing with your QB you will receive this trophy. This trophy will unlock at the end of the game and you can get this trophy in the same game as the Options trophy.

For more info on this Offense view the NCAA 11 Offense Trailer above.

[top]
Pistol
Gain 100 yards rushing with a QB and a HB while running Pistol offense in a game (excludes co-op).

The Pistol Offense is a combination of the Shotgun and the One Back offense. Ahh the Pistol Offense. Personally I hate this offense and my home town school of Nevada, aka: the Badasses, uses it nonstop/ For this trophy you will need a fast QB and a fast RB. Think of this Offense as a modified Option Offense to get this trophy. You will need to rush for 100 yards with your RB AND QB for this trophy. You can use your favorite team and change the playbook to the Pistol Offense Playbook by pressing either or on the playbook/profile screen after you pick your team. The offense specific playbooks are located before all the College Playbooks. If you are really having trouble with this you can extend the game time to longer quarters in the Dynasty House Rules menu.

For more info on this Offense view the NCAA 11 Offense Trailer above.

[top]
West Coast/Pro Style
Using a West Coast/Pro Style offense, complete passes to 8 different receivers (excludes co-op).

The West Coast/Pro Style Offense uses a short, quick passing game to try and move the ball down field. You will find this Offense used by a lot of teams that produce a high number of NFL QBs. There are 5 Offensive Lineman and your QB on every play so of your starters there are only 5 starters max on Offense so you will need to sub in 3 back ups for this trophy. Once you complete 1 pass to 8 different people the trophy will unlock. You can use your favorite team and change the playbook to the West Coast/Pro Style Offense Playbook by pressing either or on the playbook/profile screen after you pick your team. The offense specific playbooks are located before all the College Playbooks. If you are really having trouble with this you can extend the game time to longer quarters in the Dynasty House Rules menu.

For more info on this Offense view the NCAA 11 Offense Trailer above.

[top]
Run and Shoot
Gain 300 yards passing in a game throwing to at least 5 receivers using the Run and Shoot (excludes co-op).

The Run and Shoot Offense is an offense that uses 4 WRs and 1 RB and is designed to spread the Defense out. This trophy will be an easy one as long as you can adapt to the playbook. For this all you need to do is complete 1 pass to all 5 starting available receivers, or a combination of starters and backups, as long as you hit the 5 quota. You must also throw for 300 yards or more in the game which should be easy since this is a passing based offense. You can use your favorite team and change the playbook to the Run and Shoot Offense Playbook by pressing either or on the playbook/profile screen after you pick your team.

[top]
Aggressive Spread No Huddle
Score a touchdown running only no huddle for an entire drive with a Spread offense (excludes co-op).

The Spread Offense is a system that's primarily run from the Shotgun, that spreads the entire field with receivers. To run the No-Huddle offense what you must do is hold down the at the completion of each play until the Offense starts lining up and you get a pop-up window to select your play. Your QB will then call the play at the line of scrimmage for you to run. For this trophy you must perform the first play of the drive from the huddle, then after that not return to the huddle at all and score a TD on the drive. This can be done at anytime in the game. You can use your favorite team and change the playbook to the Spread Offense Playbook by pressing either or on the playbook/profile screen after you pick your team. The offense specific playbooks are located before all the College Playbooks. If you are really having trouble with this you can extend the game time to longer quarters in the Dynasty House Rules menu. This trophy will unlock as soon as you complete the requirement and you can get this trophy in the same game as the Spread No Huddle trophy.

For more info on this Offense view the NCAA 11 Offense Trailer above.

[top]
Spread No Huddle
With a Spread offense, score 2 TD's from audibled plays while running no huddle (excludes co-op).

After you have called the play and are lined up to run the play press the followed by either , , , or to call an audible which changes the play to a different play. If you are unsure what play you have changed to press the to view the play. For this trophy you must perform the first play of the drive from the huddle, then after that not return to the huddle at all and score 2 TDs from an audible play on the drive. This trophy will unlock at the end of the game and you can get this trophy in the same game as the Aggressive Spread No Huddle trophy.

[top]
There He Goes...
Break a run for 50 or more yards in a Play Now, Dynasty, or Road to Glory game (excludes co-op).

There are several plays that work well for this trophy. I personally like to run plays out of the I-twins, running to the side of the field that is wider. The plays I have found that work best are Options and the Power O or the Counter. The option gives you a choice with the ball and the Power O and Counter provides excellent blocking. If you run either of these out of twins and the defenders do not both go to one side this means that they are in a zone and use the right stick to quickly audible your run to the opposite side for less defenders at the point of attack. Once you break a run for 50 yards or more the trophy will unlock.

If you are having trouble with this trophy, play an exhibition game as either Ohio State, Alabama, or another high ranked team and make the computer San Jose State or New Mexico State or a very low caliber team to make this easier.

[top]
Take a Stab Downfield
Complete a pass for 50 or more yards in a Play Now, Dynasty, or Road to Glory game (excludes co-op).

This trophy is easier than it sounds and you will probably get just by playing throughout the course of your dynasty. You don't have to throw a deep pass for this to work. As long as the Pass play goes for 50 or more yards you will receive the trophy. I personally like the Slip Screen Play for this trophy because its easy to catch and if you run it from the I-twins and catch them in man coverage all the speedy corners will be on the wrong side of the field and it should be an easy run for your RB against the slower LBs. Also pay attention to the coverage if they blitz the screen pass a lot of times they will leave open the receivers that are going deep. The receivers are meant to be a decoy to run off the opponents but if they leave them wide open just toss the ball to them to get some easy 50 yards. Another good play for this trophy is any play the receivers run a Corner patter. If you catch the defense in a man coverage it,s an easy completion.

If you are having trouble with this trophy, play an exhibition game as either Ohio State, Alabama, or another high ranked team and make the computer San Jose State or New Mexico State or a very low caliber team to make this easier.

[top]
Formation Sub Success
Score a touchdown with a player subbed in using Formation Subs (excludes co-op).

This is a very easy trophy. When the game starts pause the game and go to Strategy. Now go down to Formations Subs and enter this menu. Now hold down the and select any formation you want, I suggest Goal Line. Now go to your HB and swap him out with a back up and exit back out to the game. Whenever you get down around 3 or less yards for the TD select the Goal Line offense and your backup will already be in the game. As long as you score a TD with a Sub at ANY position that was placed in the game through Formation Subs and not Depth Chart or Injury you will receive the trophy.

[top]
1st Option For 6
Score a touchdown handing off to the fullback on a triple option play (excludes co-op).

For this trophy you must use a playbook that has a Triple Option as one of its Option plays. You can find these in several playbooks, just look for the playbooks that are either Run Balanced or Option based offenses. Wait until you get close to the goal line, inside the 5 works best, and call the Triple Option. When you snap the ball, hold the to give the ball to your Fullback then press either the to cover the ball and prevent fumbles, or press up on the to truck stick and try to plow into the end zone. If you score a TD with your Fullback from this play you will receive your trophy.

[top]
Speed Reader
Score a touchdown on a QB Choice run play (excludes co-op).

A QB Choice play is a play that is almost always run out of a shotgun formation where the QB must quickly read the defense and decide whether or not to give the ball to the RB or keep it himself depending on the flow of the defense. This play differs from the option because unlike the option on the choice play the RB will not trail you for a pitch, instead he will run in front of you for a handoff or fake, then run the opposite direction. To hand the ball off to the RB hold won the button as he crosses over the ball. You will be able to tell which plays are choice plays by the paths of the RB and QB. Look in the Shotgun formations and look for a run play. if the RB and QB lines intersect each other and go the opposite ways with arrows then it is most likely a QB choice play If you score a TD from one of these plays the trophy is yours.

If you are having trouble with this trophy, play an exhibition game as either Ohio State, Alabama, or another high ranked team and make the computer San Jose State or New Mexico State or a very low caliber team to make this easier.

[top]
Draw Me a Touchdown
Score a touchdown running a draw play on 3rd and 6+ yards (excludes co-op).

This one is actually fairly difficult as the Draw play is NOT a very good running play in any NCAA game I've played. A Draw play is a running play that sets up like a Pass play and during the QB's drop back he hands the ball off to a RB waiting in the backfield. Every play book and Offense will have a Draw play in it so it doesn't matter which playbook you use. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE ON THE 6 YARD LINE FOR THIS TROPHY BUT YOU MUST SCORE A TD ON THE PLAY! You can earn this trophy by scoring a TD from running a Draw play as long as the TD is 6 or more yards away AND you score on the play on a 3rd down.

If you are having trouble with this trophy, play an exhibition game as either Ohio State, Alabama, or another high ranked team and make the computer San Jose State or New Mexico State or a very low caliber team to make this easier.

[top]
Hero
Score a touchdown as time expires to win the game (excludes co-op).

This trophy is exactly as it reads. The only way to unlock this trophy is to score a TD with the game timer at 0 in the 4th quarter while you are either tied or losing so the points give you the victory. This can be done on either Offense, Defense or Special Teams, BUT IT HAS TO BE A TD. You can probably unlock this while playing through your Bowl run for the Treasure Master trophy but if you don't change your quarter time to 1 minute quarters and play an exhibition game. Make sure you start out on defense and either hold the computer to 0 or a FG in the first half. In the 2nd half, move the ball down to the goal line but don't score until the last play of the game for the trophy.

If you are having trouble with this trophy, play an exhibition game as either Ohio State, Alabama, or another high ranked team and make the computer San Jose State or New Mexico State or a very low caliber team to make this easier.

[top]
Balanced Attack
Gain 200 rushing yards and 200 passing yards in the same game (excludes co-op).

This is a pretty easy trophy to obtain follow the simple rules of selecting teams if you are playing an Exhibition game. You must have 200 yards passing with all your players and 200 yards rushing with all you players. This doesn't have to be all with one or two players, it is cumulative for the entire team. Once you have this many yards for rushing and passing you will receive this trophy.

If you are having trouble with this trophy, play an exhibition game as either Ohio State, Alabama, or another high ranked team and make the computer San Jose State or New Mexico State or a very low caliber team to make this easier.

[top]
The D Is For...
Hold the opposition to under 100 total yards in a Play Now or Dynasty Mode game (excludes co-op).

You can obtain this during the Treasure Hunter trophy so don't go out of your way to get it in a regular game. For this trophy you must hold the opponent under 100 yards TOTAL including Kickoff return yardage for the entire game. Refer to the Treasure Hunter Trophy and you should get it during your Bowl Collecting without even trying.

[top]
Red Zone Perfection
Complete a Play Now or Dynasty Mode game with a Red Zone Efficiency rating of 100% (excludes co-op).

This one is a lot easier than it sounds. The Red Zone is the patch of field that is 20 yards and into the end Zone on both sides of the field. To receive this trophy you must make sure that every time you in the Red Zone you score something. It can be either a TD or a FG to stay at 100%. Make sure you don't commit any turnovers in the Red Zone and if it's 4th down kick a FG to keep your perfection. If you stay perfect you will receive this at the end of the game.

[top]
Red Zone Shutout
Complete a Play Now or Dynasty Mode game without allowing a TD from the Red Zone (excludes co-op).

This one is also easier than it sounds. The Red Zone is the patch of field that is 20 yards and into the end Zone on both sides of the field. It is okay if the computer kicks FG's in the Red Zone, you only have to stop TD's in the Red Zone. You will probably get this trophy on your Fill the Trophy Case Trophy run so don't play a game just for this trophy.

[top]
Lock It Up
With Player Lock on, return an interception for a TD (excludes co-op).

This is the only other trophy that I condone a second controller for simply because this is a crappy carry over feature that they should have just left out. When you are on defense if you press the you will player lock on a defender which is supposed to make you feel like you are actually the player by changing the view to behind him on defense. The downside is you can't see as much of the field, it's hard to see what's going on in the backfield so you can't tell if it's a run or pass, and you cant switch players at all when locked so if the pass goes the other way and the computer misses the tackle a lot of time they will score. That being said start an exhibition game and make sure player one is on defense then select a Dime package then select any Man Defense. With the second controller select e a curl pattern for the outside receiver. Once on the field select the Cornerback with the first controller and then click the to lock on. Now press the and select either your TE nr WR thats on the side with your CB and Hot Route him to either a deep pattern or an In Pattern to clear him out of the field sohe can't make the tackle. Now snap the ball with the second controller and wait for the receiver to get close to the Corner and throw the ball to him. With Man Defense and either of these pass patterns the Cornerback will more than likely intercept the pass without your help because he will be sitting there waiting for it. If he doesn't seem to be going for the pick press the during the huddle and change your DB options to Aggressive. Grab the other first controller and run it for a TD to achieve this trophy.

[top]
In Your Crosshairs
Spotlight a receiver and get an interception on him in a Play Now or Dynasty game (excludes co-op).

"Spotlighting" a receiver can be a very useful function to get your team to focus their defense towards a key player on the offensive side of the ball. To "Spotlight" a receiver press the before the snap then press the corresponding button for the receiver, tight end, or running back you want to spotlight and an orange highlight will appear below them. You should spotlight a receiver on EVERY SINGLE PLAY to increase your chances of getting this trophy and you should always try to spotlight the other team's playmakers as they have a higher chance to get a pass than the other receivers.. The playmakers will have an orange star highlight under neath them when you spotlight them. Follow these steps for easier interceptions.

  • Unlike NCAA games of the past, the Man Coverage schemes work better more consistently than Zone Coverages in this game. No matter how bad or how good your team is try to always run plays that involve a Man Coverage Scheme for your Secondary and make sure you set your Gameplay Strategy to Aggressive for Coverage so your DB's go for more interceptions
  • Anytime the computer throws the ball before the ball arrives press the button to switch to the covering defender and then press the button to try to intercept the ball. This will greatly increase your chances for Interceptions.
  • You don't have to User Intercept the passes for this trophy but following these steps will increase your chances of interceptions by the cornerbacks.
  • Once you intercept the ball all the Offensive Ball Carrier controls will be at your control so don't forget to hold down the to sprint and use the right stick to juke people on your way to the TD.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO RETURN THE INTERCEPTION FOR THIS TROPHY. Once you intercept a pass intended for the spotlight receiver the trophy will sound.

If you are having trouble with this trophy, play an exhibition game as either Ohio State, Alabama, or another high ranked team and make the computer San Jose State or New Mexico State or a very low caliber team to make this easier.

[top]
Veteran
Win a game by 35+ points on Heisman difficulty (excludes co-op).

This will definitely be the most difficult trophy in the entire game. There isn't a lot of strategy I can give you on this one, completing this trophy will rely only on your skills in this game. The computer is very difficult on the Heisman Difficulty Level. On Defense, I recommend using Man Coverages as they will pick apart your Zones fairly easily. If you are a heavy blitzer on Defense you will want to tone it down a bit for the Heisman difficulty because they will often throw to the open area of the field from the blitz. On Offense, TAKE CARE OF THE BALL! You will need to beat the CPU by 35 or more points for the trophy so you can't just play it slow and run out the clock with a ball control offense. Use a Heavy Passing attack and you should be fine. You can extend the Quarter length to make the game longer if you need more time. You can do this at any time during your Dynasty, just head to Dynasty House Rules and change the difficulty when you have a game against a desirable opponent. Make sure you change your settings back to the level you want to play on when you are done .

If you are having trouble with this trophy, play an exhibition game as either Ohio State, Alabama, or another high ranked team and make the computer San Jose State or New Mexico State or a very low caliber team to make this easier.

Best Class Ever
Have the #1 ranked recruiting class in a season in single team Dynasty Mode.

When you start go to preseason recruiting and then Russell top 100. Any player with a green dot next the them is interested in your school and will be easier to recruit. You want to sign as many 5 star and 4 star prospects as possible. After you fill your board, start your season. Go to your recruiting screen and then your recruiting board.Click on a player and then click on offer scholarship. For the first couple of weeks just concentrate on getting everyone on your board scholarships and occasionally players will sign just from the offer. After everyone is offered a scholarship you will then prepare for visits. At the beginning of each week press the and reorder your prospects by interest. Click on recruit for your school and then click call prospect. Here's where you must make your tough decisions, how much time to spend with each prospect. I would say to spend about 30 minutes with each prospect in the top rankings as long as they are 5 star and 4 star prospects. This year has a different system and picks things at random to pitch. if you have an A+ or A rating then click on the option to find their interest, IF NOT click the option to change subjects. The interest will range from Most to Very Low. If their interest is low, but you have a good grade, you can try to sway their importance level by moving the cursor down to the option to sway their interest and pressing the . You want to try to get 3 very highs or most for importance matched to your As and A+s before they come for a visit. Now in this years game you can also offer up to 3 promises in your FIRST season. If you are playing be careful what you promise because if you don't deliver you will lose respect from future signings. If you aren't playing offer whatever to try to sign as many in the 1st season as possible. You can also steal points from other schools in this years game. Always check the comparison and if you have a high grade in something important to the prospect and a rival school is not rated well choose the option to compare against another school to take away some of their points. At the end of each week simply sim your game because we are concentrating on recruiting not playing.

Once a prospect is ready, schedule a visit and it will ask you to choose up to 3 activities. Choose the ones that match the importance with your school rating to try to woo your prospect to your school. After he has visited if he hasn't signed don't forget to still call him even if it's a quick call to keep his interest. If you lose players go back to the board and add more.

At the end of the season follow the same procedure except you can promise things to your prospects. Offer them whatever you want including winning National Championships in their first year because you aren't actually playing. At the end of the final week in the off season if you end up ranked 1st in recruiting you will obtain this trophy.

Point Some Fingers
In a single phone call, take 250 points away from one school by downplaying pitches.

In last years NCAA game they introduced Downplaying Pitches against other schools into Recruiting. It was pretty pointless. This year they have refined it and actually show you how many points you are taking away from the other schools by downplaying the pitches so it is quite useful and helpful for signing. The way Downplaying works is like this:

  1. Let's say you are ranked number 2 on the prospect's top 10 list. For Coaching Experience you have an A+ and the number 1 ranked team has a C+
  2. Press on the Command to Downplay Pitches against the number 1 ranked school to earn yourself points and take away points from the other school.
  3. This will only work if you have a higher ranking than the rival school you are comparing too.
  4. The bigger the spread that you have between your school and the rival school, the more points you will take away. For example you will get more between an A+ to a D+ than from a B+ to a B.
  5. The higher the prospects interest level, the more points you can take away. For instance you will take away more points with a Most or Very High than with an Average.

For this trophy you can Downplay against any of the schools in the Prospects top 10. I recommend concentrating on one school. You may get this the old fashioned way just by trial and error but if you are having trouble do this. Be a big school such as Ohio State and pick a 2-3 star prospect to call. The reason for this is that a 2-3 star will have a very likely chance of several schools on their top 10 with bad school rankings for pitches. Make sure you pick 6 topics to give yourself enough time. then pick the worst school on his top 10 list and pick on them every round. If you happen to pop-up on something that their school is better on, press the command to change topic to a new one without losing a topic slot. As long as you take away 250 points from the same school the trophy will unlock.

[top]
One Hit Wonder
Get an instant commit from a prospect by offering a scholarship on a one topic call.

For this trophy when you are recruiting pick an "Interested Prospect" with a Green dot to the left of their name. If you are having trouble finding one, go to All Prospects then make sure the highlighted column is all the way to the left and then press the to reorder the prospects until all the interested prospects are on the top. Now, in your recruiting, go to the Prospect and select a 1 Topic (10 minute) call. You only have one chance to do this per prospect. When you are in the Pitches Screen, head to the bottom and select Offer Scholarship. If the Prospect signs immediately from the offer you will receive the trophy. The better your school is the easier this trophy is to earn!

If you are having trouble earning this in your Dynasty, Simply start a new dynasty and pick a team such as Ohio State. Next, go to the All Prospects tab and follow the instructions above to pull up the "Interested Prospects". Now fill your board with 30-35, 2-3 star, prospects. Go through the list and Use 1 call and offer each one a scholarship until one of them signs. You shouldn't have any problem finding one in the first try, but if it doesn't work, SIM to the next week then go to your Recruitment Board and press the to remove them all, then go back to the Prospects and find 35 different ones and repeat the process.

Switcheroo
Secure a commitment from a prospect that was a soft commit elsewhere.

Anyone who has watched Jerry MaGuire will know this trophy and this saying well, "You always get the contract signed", even if the prospect gives you his word. A "Soft Commitment" is what happens when a Prospect has a team first on their list and thinks they may want to go there but still wants to see what the other schools have to offer. The Prospect at this time will give the school a "Soft Commitment" or basically their word, that they will attend their school the next season. They haven't agreed to anything on contract yet which is a "Hard Commitment". During this time you can still woo the Prospect away from the top ranked school by careful downplaying of their pitches. Follow the instructions above for the Point Some Fingers trophy to Downplay the #1 ranked school to try and steal a hard commitment. The better your school is the better you chance will be of achieving this trophy! If you can manage to steal away a Soft Committed prospect the trophy is yours.

Don't Call It a Comeback
Convince a player with an overall rating of 95 or higher to stay.

At then end of each season the very first task to happen will be your Players Leaving from either Graduation or the Pro Draft. Players can enter the NFL draft in either their Sophomore or Junior year if they meet the age requirements for the NFL Draft. Seniors cannot be talked into staying. If you have a player leaving that isn't a Senior you can try to persuade him to stay for another year. You only have one chance at this so if you happen to have someone that is a 95 or above that isn't a Senior make sure you use as much time as you can on him. The better your school is the better chance their will be for you to keep your underclassmen! This is different than recruiting because all you can do is choose the amount of time to spend trying to persuade the player, you DO NOT get to go over pitches or anything with him. If you have done a good enough job the player will stay for another year and you will receive the trophy. If he leaves find another player to try with.

TIP: Alabama happens to have 2 players rated 95 and higher that are underclassmen so you can always SIM to the end of the season then use 60 minutes on them and the odds will be very high of getting one to stay.

Program Changer
Sign a 5-star QB or HB with a 2-star prestige school in a single team Dynasty (no ATH).

This is one of the more difficult trophies to unlock in the game. It will be very difficult, but not impossible, to unlock this trophy without actually playing the games. What you must first do is pick a good 2 star prestige school. Next try to find a 5 star QB or RB that is in your pipeline states to get extra points. If for some reason you happen to have one with a Green dot, that means he is interested and will definitely increase your chances of signing. Load up your Recruiting Roster with as many 5 star QBs and RBs as you can from the All-Prospects tab. Next head to your recruiting board and press the to reorder your prospects by interest. Now if you have any that you happen to be in their top 10 list, spend about 30 minutes with them. Send about 10 minutes on all the rest. Make sure you offer scholarships to all of them the first week. At the end of each week make sure you reorder your prospects! Follow normal recruiting procedures and don't forget to offer Promises for extra points. If you can manager to sign just one 5 star RB or QB you will unlock this trophy. Here are some good teams I recommend for this trophy:

  • Nevada
  • Troy
  • Tulsa
  • Vanderbilt
  • Washington State
  • Baylor
  • Indiana
  • Iowa State

Tips
  • Choose Baylor as your school of choice...they play in the Big 12 and have a good amount of pitches that are good values.
  • YOU CANNOT GET THIS TROPHY BY PLAYING WITH MORE THAN ONE USER TEAM!
  • In the setup screen set the Recruiting Difficulty down to Freshman.
  • Make some prospects! I suggest 3-4 QBs and RBs for each position. Make your Prospects from Texas and make sure you remember to set enough of their stats up to 99 to make them a 5 star prospect.
  • When recruiting starts, pick your recruits up and any other 5 star athletes available.
  • Spend a full 60 minutes with each of your athletes from Texas and spend 10-30 with the rest depending on how much time you have left and MAKE SURE YOU OFFER A SCHOLARSHIP TO EVERYONE!
  • Pick the option to discover pitches on anything that is a B or higher in the first couple weeks. Anything C or lower offer a promise.
  • At the end of each week make sure you reorder your Prospects by Interest so you can concentrate your time on the most interested.
  • Try to get 250+ points each week on Recruiting for your interested Prospects...Even a C or C+ will give you 50 points or so if his interest High and above.
  • On the weeks that you get a x2, concentrate on pitches and not Promises to maximize your points.
  • Always check to see if you can downplay the competition on anything that has a level of B or higher.

Yes, this is a little cheap, but I got the recruit week 6, and have the platinum! so I am happy.

If you want to save the people who read your guide time, they can use my team. They can just search "FSUpride12 or North Dakota Snow, when the upload the teambuilder team!

Setup Shop In the Big 3
In a single team Dynasty, develop new pipelines in Texas, California, and Florida.

To develop a new Pipeline state you must sign 5-10 players from another state during the course of your Dynasty. This trophy is cumulative so even if you don't get it in one year you may get it the next. It is easier to sign players from states that are adjacent to your state if you are a smaller school just check to see their interest for Proximity to home while you are recruiting them. It doesn't matter if they are a 5 star prospect or a 1 star prospect. Unlike last years game, the game WILL count a Pipeline state towards this trophy if you already have the State setup as a Pipeline. Once you develop Pipeline states in Texas, California, and Florida the trophy will be yours.

Burn That Shirt
Remove the redshirt from a player in a game, and earn player of the game status with that player.

You must play a Dynasty mode game to get this trophy, this CANNOT be unlocked in any other game mode. During every Preseason you will have the option to move through your roster and designate players as "Redshirt" players. Being a Redshirt player means you practice with the team and go to the games but you CANNOT play in the games. The advantage of being a Redshirt player is that you will stay in your current year for that year while still progressing stat wise in the game. SO if you Redshirt a Freshman he will still be a Freshman at the beginning of the following season. You can only Redshirt once, so most players use it their first season, however some don't use it at all and just start out playing based on team needs. You may find a very good player in your initial season that hasn't been Redshirted. Odds are you will need to wait until the start of your second season for this trophy. The best players for this trophy are QB, RB and Wide Receiver or Tight End. After you have Redshirted the player, wait until your first game and once you start the game pause the game, and go to the Strategy menu. Now go to the Depth Chart menu and sub in your player. It will ask you if you wish to "Unredshirt" the player and say yes. Once you do this the player will not return to Redshirt status so choose wisely! At the end of the game if you have earned player of the game honors with the player you Unredshirted the trophy will unlock.

Crash the Party
In a single team Dynasty, earn an invite to a BCS game with a team from a non-BCS conference..

The BCS is a series of games at the end of the NCAA Football season that determines the National Champion. To obtain this trophy you must receive an invite to one of the BCS games from a Non BCS conference at the end of the season. There are several BCS Bowl games it does not necessarily mean the Championship game and you don't have to win you just have to be invited. The non-BCS conferences are:

  • MAC
  • MWC
  • WAC
  • Sun Belt
  • Conference USA
  • Independents

The highest ranked champion from any of these conferences qualifies if it finishes in the top 12, or top 16 if it finishes ranked higher than the champion of a conference that has an automatic berth. Notre Dame qualifies if it finishes in the top 8.

Picking Up Yards
In a solo Dynasty or Road to Glory season, have a player with an avg 6+ yds per carry (min 100 att)..

For this trophy you must finish an entire season INCLUDING CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK AND BOWL GAMES with any player on offense having an average of 6 or more yards per carry. This DOES NOT necessarily have to be a running back, you can get this with a QB or even a Receiver if you choose to use them. The 6 yard average per carry is not nearly as daunting as it seems in College Football but make sure you keep an eye on your stats because you must have 100 or more carries to get this trophy. Some good offensive plays for Running on offense are the Counter, the Option, and Off Tackle Plays (Power "O"). This trophy will not unlock until the very end of the season when you make the selection to advance to your off-season tasks.

[top]
Mr. Efficiency
In a solo Dynasty or Road to Glory season, have a QB with a completion % of 65+ (min 100 att).

This is actually a fairly difficult trophy to unlock and will be even harder if you don't have a high caliber QB as your starter. I recommend a lot of short higher percentage passes such as Slants, Ins, and Outs instead of Deep Passing. Remember you must have at least 100 attempts so you will need to average about 8 completions per game and you will need to complete 5-6 of those for 65% the more passes you throw, however, the more room for incompletions you will receive. If you play in a Championship game or a Bowl Game don't get careless with the ball because those games will count towards your totals as well. When you are passing the ball, it's easier and a higher percentage to throw to the outside and NOT over the middle. When you do throw the ball make sure their isn't anyone in between you and the receiver because the CPU can jump extraordinarily high to knock the ball down. The CPU also has reflexes that rival a superhero and will react to a pass very fast even a couple yards away. If you throw from behind the line over the middle try to throw in passing lines and not over Defensive Linemans' heads as they have an irritating habit of knocking those down as well. At the end of the season, if you have completed your goal the trophy will unlock.

You can get this trophy with a backup QB. Try subbing him in near the end to throw 10 passes in mop up time.

[top]
20/20 Club
In a solo Dynasty or Road to Glory season, get 20+ passing and 20+ rushing TD's with one player.

This is the Tim Tebow trophy. This is actually quite tough to get and you will most likely need a good QB and a good team to get this. The Passing TD's should be no problem for you, but if you have a slow QB or don't run the Option very well the 20 rushing TD's will be tough. While you are trying to earn this trophy anytime you get near the goal line, run the ball out of bounds at the 1 so you can get the Rushing TD with your QB. I recommend the Speed Option with your QB and immediately turn the ball up field for a TD. I noticed on the QB Sneak the QB just falls down which is only mildly effective for the game. You can get this trophy with a RB as well if you are running some type of Wildcat offense as your primary offense but the 20 Passing TD's will be much tougher.

If you are having trouble with this trophy, you can always extend the Quarter Length for the games to have more time to perform this feat. You can also select Ohio State or Alabama as your Dynasty team to make this easier.

What a Weekend
Invite 5 or more recruits to a game and get all A- or better visit grades in a single user Dynasty.

For this trophy you must invite at least 5 recruits to all visit in the same week either during the season or during the off-season. When you invite them, on the week they come, they will have an airplane icon next to them in recruiting. You will then have the option to select up to three activities to do with them while they are on campus. Hopefully you have spent some time uncovering their interests and trying to sway their interests to match your strengths in the recruiting. You want to match up your A's and B's to their Most's - High's. If there is a very good match that will increase their rating of the visit it will have a green line next to the rating. If it is a moderate match for moderate stat increasing it will be a white line and most importantly stay away from any red lines as they will bring the rating down. If you don't have at least a 2 green or white lines make sure you set your visit for a later date to maximize your recruiting and learn more about your recruits. At the end of the week you can view their rating next to the week they visit in parenthesis on the Recruiting Board for your team. If you can have at least 5 recruits that give you an A- or above you will receive this trophy at the beginning of the NEXT week.

Survivor
Be the last remaining undefeated team in a single team Dynasty season.

For this trophy you DO NOT need to finish the entire season undefeated you just need to be the only undefeated left in the game. That may take the entire season however.

This trophy can be earned at the same time as the Untouchable and Simply Perfect, and Perfect from the Start trophies.

[top]
Simply Perfect
Play an entire season in a single team Dynasty and remain undefeated.

For this trophy you must finish your entire season, including Bowl Game, without losing a single game. You DO NOT necessarily have to play in the BCS Championship game for this trophy to unlock.

This trophy can be earned at the same time as the Untouchable, and Survivor and Perfect from the Start trophies.

Perfect From the Start
In a single team Dynasty, maintain a #1 ranking for the entire season.

For this trophy you must begin the season as the #1 ranked team in the country. You can do this during your regular Dynasty, or you can start a new one and begin the game with Alabama who begins the first season as the #1 rated team. Now in the preseason you need to set your Custom Schedule. Include as many top ranked teams as you can in the open slots and set the games against them to away to try to achieve an A+ Strength of Schedule. YOU MUST BE THE #1 RANKED TEAM IN EVERY WEEK AND WIN THE BCS CHAMPIONSHIP GAME FOR THIS TROPHY! If you do this the trophy is yours.

This trophy can be earned at the same time as the Untouchable, and Survivor and Simply Perfect trophies.

[top]
Untouchable
In a single team Dynasty, win all games in a season by 21+. (Must play the BCS title game).

This one can be a tough one, but there are a few things you can do to unlock this trophy. At the beginning of the season when you have option to make a Custom Schedule all the teams without the lock on them can be changed. If you are having trouble change out the difficult teams with easier teams. Be careful to not make your schedule too easy though. You must win all 12 regular season games AND YOU MUST PLAY IN THE BCS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME AND WIN BY AT LEAST 21 POINTS!!! if the game is about to end and it looks as if you aren't going to win by 21, pause the game and exit out and start over.

This trophy can be earned at the same time as the Survivor and Simply Perfect, and Perfect from the Start trophies.

Treasure Hunter
Win all bowl trophies (including National Championship) in Dynasty or Road to Glory modes.

This one isn't as tough as it sounds it is just time consuming. You can do this during your Dynasty run if you want or start a new dynasty and sim to the bowl games. To obtain this trophy you need to play and win the trophy for all 33 bowl games. Before you begin this go to your Dynasty Setup menu and then Dynasty House Rules and change the quarters to 1 min to make the games go quicker. When bowl week starts you need to go to press the or to go to the ESPN tab. Then scroll down to the Schedule tab and then simply press on the bowl game and you will have the choice to sim the game or play the game. Choose to play the game and select the better team based on their stats for Offense and Defense (remember you have to win). I find its easier to let the computer start on offense because if you can get a stop and a score even if its a FG in the first half(which will only give you 2 minutes) you have a very good opportunity to waste out the entire second half of the game because you will start on Offense the 2nd half. Once you win all 33 trophies you will receive this trophy. Don't forget to go back to your Dynasty Setup and change your quarters back to 5 minutes when you are done.

If played right there are several other trophies you can get during this time such as The D is For..., Hero, Red Zone Perfection, and Red Zone Shutout

Below is a list of the 33 Bowl Games if you want to keep track.

  • New Mexico Bowl
  • St. Petersburg Bowl
  • Eagle Bank Bowl

High School Champ
Play and win the High School Championship Game in any state.

Start a Road To Glory mode game and follow the setup for your player. You can set up any position you want, but I recommend a scrambling quarterback because you have the option to run or pass on every down and the ball will always be in your hands on Offense. Once the setup is complete it will start you on your high school team in a playoff tournament. There are 3 playoff games before the championship game. You must win all three games to qualify for the championship and then you must win the final championship game for the trophy.

Blue Chip
Become a 5-star prospect in Road to Glory Mode.

You can acquire all these Road to Glory mode in one playthrough if you just play well in the high school tournament. If you play well in each game, it doesn't have to be NCAA stats, just average stats without a bunch of mistakes, at the end of each round of the tournament if you win it will show you your prospect rating. You won't get any star advancement until the end of the second round, so don't worry if you don't see any at the end of round 1. If you win the Championship and have played well you are guaranteed a 5 star prospect. If a game ends and you don't receive a star make sure you don't save and exit to replay the game. As soon as you receive your 5th star you will receive this trophy.

Earned Your PT
Become a starter in Road to Glory Mode.

At the end of your Road to Glory high school season you will be asked to select which college you wish to attend. The better you play through your high school championship run does have an impact on this. When you are selecting a school it will tell you your projected place on the depth chart such as starter or 2nd string. The better you play means the bigger the school that will project you as the starter in your first season. Unless you are really into the Road to Glory mode I would suggest just picking any school that projects you as the starter. Once signed as the starter, you will achieve the trophy. If you choose a school that you are not projected as the starter you will have to compete in workout drills to move up the depth chart to starter before you achieve this trophy.

Strike the Pose
Win the Heisman Memorial Trophy® in single team Dynasty Mode or Road to Glory Mode.

To win the Heisman Trophy you must have an outstanding season with any skill player on your team. The easiest player to win this trophy with is your RB. It is very easy to run during the games and concentrate on anytime you get near the goal line to give the ball to your main RB. If he is tired call a timeout and he'll come back in on the next play. That being said, the more all purpose yards you get the better. Give him generous amounts of screen passes and you can also put him at Kickoff Returner and Punt Returner for extra yards. Try to get your RB to 2000 or more yards rushing and more than 30 rushing TD's and with the extra all purpose yards you should easily win the Heisman. For the Heisman Trophy it does help if you play for a bigger school. It is not necessary but that will help you gain votes to play in a better Conference.
