[top]Tips and Strategies

  • When you are knocked back by an enemy, if you push you will land on your feet
  • If an enemy knocks you into the air, press quickly so that you will land on your feet
  • Do as many side quests as you can before you progress to section 2 of the game as some of the trophies will no longer be obtainable and you will no longer be able to do some of the quests
  • When you are in the different areas, look for areas that are lit up or sparkling around the maps as those are the places where you can harvest raw materials. Every time you re-enter the same place some of those areas will reappear with different items. I haven't 100% figured out if the items you harvest are on a rotation or if they are random. You will need a lot of these items for your quests so harvest every spot you see every time you see them.
  • ALWAYS, ALWAYS, have the words that increase your item drop percentage from enemies attached to any weapons or magic you are using. You won't be a high percent one like 15% + till part 2 but it is still helpful
  • Keep a look out for orange orbs that are dropped by the enemies you kill. Those are rare items so make sure you always get those.

[top]Road Map

Playthrough 1:

This playthrough is where you should go after almost all of your trophies. Here are some things to consider.

PART 1
This game is basically split into two parts and you will only play the first part for all the trophies once. (You will play through the first part again in your speed run but that you should be your last trophy.) Here are some of the things you need to know before moving onto part 2.
* PART 1 ENDS WHEN YOU GET THE QUEST TO GET VAPOR MOSS FROM POPOLA. AS SOON AS YOU PICK UP THIS ITEM, PART 2 WILL START IMMEDIATELY AND YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO GO BACK.
* Make sure you kill the 100 sheep to get that trophy because there aren't any in part 2
* Make sure you buy all 3 weapons that are available from the blacksmiths
* Clean up any quests that you would like to finish. There will be about 34 quests available to you in part 1. You should be able to get all the quest trophies out of the way. Continue to do the quests because they will give you a lot of money for your 1 Mill trophy.
*Make sure to do the first five fisherman gambits as I am not sure if those are available in Part 2 (better safe than sorry)
ITEMS to watch for.
Gather in every spot possible every time you go back into an area. This is especially important for a few items.
1.) The giant egg in your village (you need 6)
2.) The Eagle egg in The Aerie (you need 4)
3.) Black Pearl in Seafront (you need 15) these are found from the beach gathering spots

Part 2
Here is where you are going to need to grind things out in order to clean up some of the longer trophies like getting all the weapons, 1,000,000 in gold, and upgrading all your weapons. The upgrading weapons could be saved for your 2nd or 3rd playthrough. Also, if you are willing to skip some of the cut scenes then you could go for the boss timed trophies.

Playthrough 2
All of your weapons, exp level and items will transfer over to this play through. You will play through Part 2 a second time and only part 2. There is a time to clean up any grinding that you may need to do to upgrade all your weapons along with finding any weapons that you may have missed. Here is also a chance for you to clean up any boss timed trophies you may have missed your first time through. After finishing this, you will get the second ending trophy

Playthrough 3
Again all of your weapons, exp level and items will transfer over to this play through. You will be playing through Part 2 again for the third time. You will only be playing through Part 2 here. As stated above, this will be your LAST CHANCE to clean up any trophies that you don't have already, except for the trophy to beat the game in under 15 hours. Here you will save your game and choose the first choice to see the third ending. Then don't save over, reboot your save, and you will see the 4th ending and at the end of that you will have to delete all of your data. YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE DONE EVERYTHING UP TILL THIS POINT

Playthrough 4
This is your speed run, don't worry about any side quests or anything else. Just run through the main story as quickly as you can.

This trophy is IMPOSSIBLE to miss as it is part of the story line.

You will get this trophy after you defeat the boss at the top of the Lost Shrine

[top]
The Wild Companion
Kainé joined your party.

This trophy is IMPOSSIBLE to miss as it is part of the story line. You will get this trophy the second time you go to The Aerie to fight the monster that you fought before with her. She is the girl with the tent right outside The Aerie.

[top]
The Mellow Companion
Emil joined your party.

This trophy is IMPOSSIBLE to miss as it is part of the story line. You will get this trophy in part 2. At the beginning of part two you will speak to Popola and she will tell you to go to Emil at the mansion because he has some information for you. When you go talk to him, he will give you the info and join your party. DING trophy is yours after the cutscene

[top]
Release
You freed Kainé from her petrification.

This trophy is IMPOSSIBLE to miss as it is part of the story line. After Emil joins your party you will go through part of the mansion. At the end, he will come to a revelation, you fight a boss, and then he will have the power to free Kaine. You will be put immediately back into the library where he will free her and this trophy is your prize. I am vague above so as not to spoil any major plot points

[top]
Key Collector
You unlocked the key to the Shadowlord's castle.

This trophy is IMPOSSIBLE to miss as it is part of the story line. You will get this in part 2 after you have received all the keys from the Lost Shrine, the Junk Heap, Forest of the Myth, The Aerie, and Faccade. You will get the key after you conclude helping the king of Faccade get his revenge.

[top]
A World in Flux
You defeated the Shadowlord.

This trophy is IMPOSSIBLE to miss and is part of the story line. You will receive this trophy after the final battle with the shadowlord during the cut scene. This is the finale of the game in part 2.

[top]
Combo Fanatic
Pull off a 50-hit combo.

Try to do this in the Prologue. After about wave 2, you should be able to obtain this pretty easily as the enemies aren't very tough and you can continue to hack away until you get to 50. The enemies will continue to come so you will have more than enough enemies to hack away at.

[top]
Combo Master
Pull off a 100-hit combo.

After you get your 50 hit combo, keep on hitting and destroying your enemies and you should have this in no time. Once again wave 3 will bring about a seemingly endless amount of enemies that makes getting to 100 pretty easy. Only thing you have to look out for is a ground pound that can knock you on your back for long enough to destroy your combo. If you hit while in mid air you should land on your feet and be able to continue

Spot 2: Another spot that is even easier than the prologue to do this is in Part 2. Go to the woman in your town's tavern in part 2 after you do the Lost Shrine. She will send you to the butler of the manor and he will give you a quest called "A Tale of the Study." In this quest you will go to the study and there will be a shade in there with a barrier around it that won't fight back. Just corner it and hit it with a 1H-Sword 100 times and this trophy is yours. I got my combo up to 150 on it and it still didn't die so this is probably the easiest place to obtain this trophy.

Spot 3: In The Aerie in part 2 you will be attacked by multiple sword enemies and you should be able to rack up over a 100 combo pretty easily.

Spot 4: In the end of the game in the Shadowlord's temple you will fight a boar that you can't kill. It will continue to regain its life. While it is doing this, you can gain a 100 kill combo pretty easily.

[top]
The Magic Man
Learn every type of magic.

This Trophy is IMPOSSIBLE to miss. You get a new magic every time you find a secret verse. This can be found after the bosses in the lost shrine, The Aerie, The Junk Heap, the mansion and helping the mayor of the forest of the myth out of his dream.

[top]
Wordsmith
Collect 50 percent of all words.

As you defeat the various enemies in the game you will obtain new words. The words are basically power-ups you can put on your weapons to increase your attack power, or item drop rate or magic power etc etc etc. I am not sure how many enemies you need to unlock the words. As you get them, you can hit and go down to Grimoire Weiss and then go to the last tab titled "MEMO." Then, go down to words and it will show you your percentage. Once you get to 50% this trophy will be yours.

[top]
Weapons Collector
Find every weapon.

Weapons: You have to find all 30 weapons throughout your three playthroughs(1full, 2 halfs). The weapons will carry over so if you miss one while playing through the first time, it is okay because the quests for the weapons or any other weapons you missed will be available in part 2 again. THE WEAPONS FROM PART 1 MUST BE GOTTEN THEN AS YOU CAN'T GO BACK. Before you finish the game a thrid time and go for the endings C and D you have to have all weapons if you want plat. You will need to have gotten them all not only for that trophy but also so you can upgrade them all and the final boss trophy only becomes available at the end of your thrid playthrough if you have all 30 weapons.

The woman on the left dream is a pain in the ass. Here are your directions to get out. 1.) North 2.) East 3.) North 4.) East 5.) North. Village Handyman
Complete 10 quests.

1.) Old Fashioned Home Cooking
Location: Woman sitting on a bench to the right of the fountain that is actually in the town not the fountain in between the town and library
Objective: Find 10 Mutton for her
Strategy: Go to the Northern Plains and kill the sheep. There should be at least 5 sheep right when you enter the large area of the northern plains and 5 sheep behind the big rock in the middle after crossing the bridge. You will probably have to kill all these sheep, then leave and come back because rarer drop for the sheep is wool. Accumulate 10 Mutton and go back to the woman.
Reward: 1500 gold

2.) The Lost Eggs
Location Shop keeper on your left as soon as you enter your town.
Objective: Find a chicken egg
Strategy: You should already have one in your inventory if you have been harvesting all of the lite up sparkles you have seen from the beginning. If not, go check by the broken pillars around the main fountain by the library or go up the stairs directly to your right when you enter town and go to the top of the hill. Then, go back and talk to the shopkeeper once you have one.

3.) Herbal Remedies
Location: Popola in the library
Objective: Find 2 Herbal Remedies
Strategy: You should also have two of these already in your inventory. If you do just immediately talk to her again. If not, then the trees right in front of the northern gates usually have harvest spots that you can get herbal remedies from. Or you can buy them (not recommended). Or go out into the Northern Plains and kill the small shades as they usually drop Herbal Remedies. Then take them back to her

4.) The Gatekeepers Errand
Location: If you are looking at the gate to the Northern Plains. It is the guard to your right tucked back in the corner.
Objective: Talk to the blacksmiths wife
Strategy: Go talk to the blacksmiths wife and the blacksmith is the last shop on your left when going through town on your way to the southern plains. Just talk with her and then go back and talk to him and this quest is done.

5.) Shopping List
Location: Florist woman sitting on a bench near the fountain that is in town. If you are looking at the fountain she is on the left side.
Objective: Buy 3 tulip bulbs
Strategy: You can either buy the 3 bulbs from a merchant in Seafront for a total of 150 gold or wait until you find some bulbs. My recommendation here because they are cheap would be to just buy 3

6.) Book Smarts
Location: Woman on the top floor of the library across; basically right above the door you walk into the library from
Objective: She will ask you to put away two different books for her
Strategy: Book 1 - Go back down the stairs, then go back up and turn right and it is the first bookcase on your left
Book 2 - From the front door looking at the staircase go to the right wall and it is the middle bookcase

7.) The Tavern Keeper's Grandmother
Location: Tavern Keeper in your town
Objective: Collect 3 medicinal herbs, 3 berries and 3 royal ferns
Strategy: You should already have the 3 herbs. If not, search in front of the gate to the northern plains or kill the small shades in the Northern plains. 3 berries - You should have 3 or be close if you have going to all the harvest spots in the Northern and Southern Plains or you can buy them (not recommended). 3 Royal Ferns - These you can also find in the Northern and Southern Plains if you are harvesting every spot you see when you go into these areas. This quest took me a little while to find the royal ferns but I recommend waiting rather than buying them.
Once you have found everything, take it to the shopkeeper and she will mix it up and tell you to take it to her grandma who is sitting next to the large fountain outside of your town by the Northern gate. She will pay you

8.) A Return to Shopping
Location: The florist to the left of the fountain in town
Objective: Pick up 3 bounty fertilizers for sale at seafront
Strategy: Go to Seafront and buy the 3 bounty fertilizers because I haven't found this item in my travels

9.) Boar Hunt!
Location: Old man sitting down to your left as soon as you enter your town
Objective: Kill the boar that is at the end of the Northern Plains
Strategy: I would suggest at least going and buying the Lily-Leaf Sword. Then go fight the boar. Stay close to the boar and as soon as he starts to scratch his hoof against the ground like he is going to charge, jump behind him. He will charge and run into something, run back up to the boar and repeat. You will probably have to hit the boar around 60-75 times before it will go down.

10.) Fragile Delivery
Location: Guard at the Northern Gate who is on the left side of the gate if you are looking at it.
Objective: Get a package to the chief of The Aerie without it breaking
Strategy: Just run, don't stop to kill anything. When you enter the Northern Plains, the entrance to The Aerie will be in the Northeastern corner. Don't stop to kill any of the shades because if they hit you it will break. Then you will go through a tunnel and come to a town that is built on stilts on the side of a mountain with bridges to cross to get to one side or the other. Cross the first bridge and go up the first ladder you see on the other side. Jump and run to avoid the two small shades. You will now have to cross back over to the other side, continue to jump over the shades that appear. When you get to the other side, go right and climb up the ladder and the only house there is the chiefs house, leave it at his doorstep and return to the guard for your reward. NOTE: I didn't get hit so I don't know what happens if you get hit and it breaks so if someone could let me know I would appreciate it.

Those were my first 10 quests, if you are trying to do a quest that is not listed in those 10 then look below at the next two trophies for the rest of the quests.

11.) On the Wings of Eagles
Location: Tavern Keeper in your town
objective: Find an Eagle Egg in The Aerie

Then, go back to that side to see the sparkling circle and you will get your eagle egg. Take this back to the tavern keeper who will mix it up and then you will have to take it to her grandma by the large fountain near the northern gate and she will reward you.

12.) Yonah's Home Cooking
Location: Your daughter Yonah in your house on the second floor
Objective: 1 venison and 1 wheat
Strategy: Venison can be found by killing the animals in the southern plains. They are to your left as you enter the southern plains from your town. Kill 1 and you will get venison. Then you can buy the wheat or in your travels if you explore The Aerie you should get some wheat seeds. Go plant one of these seeds as you will need more wheat later and once you harvest the wheat it will give you about 12 wheat. I let the wheat grow, harvest it and then take the wheat and venison to your daughter so she can fix you a nasty meal

13.) Fragile Delivery 2
Location: Old man near the fountain in your town
Objective: Take it to the tavern in seafront without it breaking
Strategy: This one is a little easier in my opinion. Just run to the tavern and don't stop to fight anything.

14.) The Fisherman's Gambit
Location: When you walk out of the tavern, go to the water and there will be an old man at the end of the pier. There will be a small beach next to him.
objective: Catch 10 sardines
Strategy: Go buy 10-15 lugworms. Then go to the large beach and fish with the lugworms until you get 10. Then take them back to the old man

15.) The Fisherman's Gambit 2
Location: Same old man in the same spot as the first. MUST complete the first for this one to open
Objective: Catch 7 blowfish
Strategy: Go to the side of town with the post office and go to the pier that is next to the large merchant shit and some other smaller boats. Use a lugworm and fish off this pier for your blowfish. I was able to catch 4 blowfish here and then I had to go to the next pier on my right to catch the other 3.

16.) The Ballad of the Twins
Location: Man in your towns tavern
Objective: Get Popola and another girl to sing together.
Strategy: The other girl should already be in the tavern so just simply talk to her. Then go to Popola and she will tell you she needs a special drink only made in the tavern in seafront. Go to the tavern and she will ask you to get 5 lizard tails and 5 mouse tails to make the drink. The lizard tails can be found in the Northern Plains. One will be to your right or left after you cross the bridge in the middle. Then, there are two that are in the southwestern corner near where you climb up to go to the Junk Heap. The mouse tails can be found in the Junk Heap. There will be two mice running around so just exit and come back in 3 times to get to 6. Go back to Seafront, she will make the drink and then take it back to popola in the library.

17.) A Dog Ashtray
Location: Old man near the blacksmith and entrance to the southern plains in your town
Objective: Find his dog in the Northern Plains
Strategy: You will find his dog dead in the southwestern corner near where you can climb the bridge to get to the junk heap. The dog will have a leaf in its mouth that you will take back to your town to find out the man has died and it is his son there who will give you a reward.

18.) The Postman's Request
Location: Seafront Post Office, just over the large stone bridge to your right
Objective: Deliver a letter to the old lady in the lighthouse
Strategy: Take the letter to the old lady in the lighthouse which you can get to by going to the large beach. She will reward you.

19.) The Belated Letter
Location: Man near the fountain in Seafront just past the post office
Objective: Deliver a letter to his girlfriend in The Aerie
Strategy: Go to The Aerie and go like you are going to the chiefs house. Only turn left this time and her house is the last house. Nobody will be there. As you leave, when you get to the large round platform in the middle, kill the big shade and you will find her flower. Return this to the man in seafront for your reward

20.) A Seafront Dish
Location: Tavern Keeper in Seafront
Objective: Bring her 10 medicinal herbs, 10 wheat, 10 sardines
Strategy: 10 herbs - you should have some but as always you can find them in front of the northern gate, by killing the small shades in the Northern plains or buying them (not recommended). 10 wheat, I would use one of the wheat seeds or buy a wheat seed and go and plant it by your house. Fertilize it if you want, plant it, water it and then come back the next day and it should be ready to harvest and will give you anywhere between 10-12 wheat. 10 sardines, you can buy if you have already caught them or go catch them out on the big beach with a lugworm. Take it to the tavern keeper in Seafront and she will reward you.

Man of Means
Accumulate 1,000,000 pieces of gold.

This trophy I am not sure if it is accumulate 1,000,000 over the course of the game or have 1,000,000 at one time. For now lets assume the later. I will update this soon with places to get money and things that you won't need over the course of the game that you can sell. Also, when you get up to around 700K to 800K go to a town like Faccade. Save, then go down to the weapon shop and sell everything in your inventory. If you are like me and have a ton of stuff in there then you should be able to do this late into part 2 and come up with the extra 200K to 300K that you need. Then exit out of the sell screen, wait about 5 seconds for the trophy to pop and then load your game back up and you will have all your items and the trophy.

1.) Do the quests past your 30 quests, most of the quests at the end of part 1 and in part 2 give you 10K, 20K and 30K in Gold which will help you rack up the gold pretty quickly

2.) Every time you have 10 Mutton which you will have a lot from killing 100 sheep. Go to the lady by the fountain in your town and sell it to her. It is only 1,500G for the 10 but it would be only 600G for the 10 if you take it to a shop owner.

In order to do this trophy you will need to plant seeds in your garden. You can either do this over the course of the game while you are playing or you can manipulate your PS3 clock to make everything go quicker. The growth in your plants is based on the passing of time in the real world.

Manipulating your PS3 clock:
You need to make sure that you are signed offline. Then go to "Settings" on your XMB. Then go to "Network Settings" and then to "Date and Time Settings"

In this area, you can manipulate your PS3 clock. Note that if you have to push your clock forward more than 24 hours then you will also have to change the date.

Cultivating the White Moonflower:
You will have to plant seeds in a certain order so that you can increase your probability of acquiring rarer and rarer seeds. You can use Bounty Fertilizer to increase the yield of your seeds and also, during the planting and growing stages, you can water your plants which will be a good idea to also help increase your yield.

Flowers 5 stages
1.) Planting - Planted the seeds
2.) Growing - They start to grow and take shape
3.) Flowering - They begin to flower
4.) Harvesting - You can harvest for seeds now
5.) Dead - Plant is worthless to you

The process from Planting to Harvesting will take you 40 hours. Plant the seeds as described below, then move your clock ahead 4 hours to water the plants, then move the clock ahead 36 more hours so you can harvest.

Before you begin below make sure you have done ONE of these two things.
1.) Complete quests "The Shopping List" and "A Return to Shopping" in part 1
2.) Purchase the cultivation handbook from the florist in your village

Here we go:

Go to the grocer in Seafront and purchase the following seeds.
1.) 9 Red Moonflower Seeds
2.) 6 Gold Moonflower Seeds
3.) 6 Blue Moonflower Seeds

Go back to your house and plant the seeds as follows
[Red - Gold - Red - Gold - Red]
[Red - Gold - Red - Gold - Red]
[Red - Gold - Red - Gold - Red]

Water your seeds after planting
Save the game
Go and put your PS3 clock 4 hours forward
Load save
Water again
Save again
Go and put your PS3 clock 36 hours forward
Load your save
Harvest

You are looking for 9 peach Moonflower Seeds. If you don't get any of these seeds then you have to start over from scratch. Or if you don't get 9 then you can redo the plant again to get more Peach Moonflower Seeds

After you have 9 Peach Moonflower Seeds, here is your next plant

[Gold - Blue - Gold - Blue - Gold]
[Gold - Blue - Gold - Blue - Gold]
[Gold - Blue - Gold - Blue - Gold]

Water your seeds after planting
Save the game
Go and put your PS3 clock 4 hours forward
Load save
Water again
Save again
Go and put your PS3 clock 36 hours forward
Load your save
Harvest

You should be able to harvest your plants now. Hopefully you will get at least 6 indigo seeds. If not then try again. Now you will use those indigo seeds in the next pattern

[Red - Indigo - Red - Indigo - Red]
[Red - Indigo - Red - Indigo - Red]
[Red - Indigo - Red - Indigo - Red]

Water your seeds after planting
Save the game
Go and put your PS3 clock 4 hours forward
Load save
Water again
Save again
Go and put your PS3 clock 36 hours forward
Load your save
Harvest

Now you will be looking for 6 Pink Moonflower Seeds. If you didn't get even 1 then you will have to start over from scratch to get more indigo seeds.

Next you will move the peach and pink seeds. Note: You are only moving the clock ahead 24 hours this time so that you can actually harvest the flower instead of the seeds.

[Peach - Pink - Peach - Pink - Peach]
[Peach - Pink - Peach - Pink - Peach]
[Peach - Pink - Peach - Pink - Peach]

Water your seeds after planting
Save the game
Go and put your PS3 clock 4 hours forward
Load save
Water again
Save again
Go and put your PS3 clock 24 hours forward
Load your save
Harvest

Hopefully you will have at least 1 White Moonflower. There is only about a 10% chance that you will get it under these growing conditions. Keep at it and you will get it eventually as I have read it has taken some people 10-15 tries.

Fish of Legend
You caught a rhizodont.

This is the last of the 15 fish that I caught. You will need to do ALL 9 FISHERMAN'S GAMBITS quests before you attempt to catch this fish, otherwise you won't have the strength. Below I will give you the location, lure and tips to catching this fist.

Location: Desert near the fast travel boat, when you enter from the eastern plains it is along the right edge.
Lure: Sardine (can catch them or buy them for 250G)
Tips: When you are fishing here you are going to catch 1 or 3 things and you will know which one you are going to catch by the way your fishing pole moves.
Option 1: Rusty bucket/empty can/rusty clump. If your pole just has a nibble and then goes down, you will catch one of these.
Option 2: Hyneria. If your pole just has a nibble twice in a row and then goes down then you will be catching this fish
Option 3: rhizodont (what you want). If your pole does a two tier nibble and then a two tier nibble again and then goes down then you will be catching this fish.
NOTE: The two tier nibble will throw you off as it did for me. The fish probably shows up once in about every 10 to 15 casts and you only have 1 shot at it. If you get the two tier nibble and pull your line and it says the bait has been eaten. Then leave and come back because you are going to have to start all over. This isn't too bad because the Hyneria that you catch can be sold for $6,000G each and you need rusty bucket and rusty clump parts to upgrade your weapons. Trying to catch this fish is also beneficial to other trophies.

A Round by the Pond
You caught one of every type of fish.

There are 15 different fish that you can catch in the game. All of them can only be found in certain spots and caught with certain lures. Below you will find all those spots. There are 9 fishing side quests that will allow you catch 9 of the fish. YOU HAVE TO DO THESE TO CATCH ALL THE FISH. Every time you finish one, your fishing strength will increase thus allowing you to catch bigger fish. You will have to do all 9 to be able to catch rhizodont and drunkeours which are the two rare fish. This is the order that I caught the fish in. As I stated before you are best off to do all the fishing gambits first and then going back after some of the other fish.

1.) Shaman Fish
Bait: Lure
Location: Seafront beach by the light house
Tips: This will be the first fish you can catch as soon as you get your pole

2.) Sardine
Bait: Lugworm
Location: Seafront beach by the light house
Tips: You will need to go and buy lugworms from the tackle shop in Seafront. This fish needs to be caught to complete Fisherman's Gambit 1

3.) Blowfish
Bait: Lugworm
Location: Seafront off one of the 3 piers
Tips: This fish needs to be caught as a part of Fisherman's Gambit 2

4.) Rainbow Trout
Bait: Lure
Location: Northern Plains under the bridge that you climb to go to the junk heap
Tips: This fish needs to be caught as a part of Fisherman's Gambit 3

5.) Bream
Bait: Lure
Location: Seafront one of the three piers
Tips: This fish needs to be caught as a part of Fisherman's Gambit 4

6.) Black Bass
Bait: Lure
Location: Your village end of the wood pier near the waterwheel
Tips: This fish needs to be caught as a part of Fisherman's Gambit 5

7.) Giant Catfish
Bait: Carp/Lure
Location: Eastern Road straight ahead in the pond when the road forks/Your village Pond(explanation below)
Tips: This fish you need to go and catch on your own.
*** I have two baits and two areas listed for this fish because I caught it in a different spot from where I have read everyone online is catching it. I caught 1 giant catfish with a lure in my village pond when I was fishing for the black bass. I don't know if this is a glitch or what but has this happened to anyone else? If you don't catch it then, don't panic. Simply look below on how to catch a carp and fish for the giant catfish in the eastern road pond.

8.) Shark
Bait: Sardine
Location: Seafront Pier
Tips: This fish should be the last "new" breed of fish that you catch before moving onto Part 2. One of the last quests of Part 1 from the Tavern Keeper in Seafront will be for a recipe that calls for 5 sharks. Before you move onto Part 2, I would do this quest and thus catch the sharks because of it. You will need to have done the 5 fishing gambits to have the strength to catch the shark. If you don't do the quest it isn't a huge deal as you can still catch a shark in part 2. While trying to catch the shark I had to keep moving around to the different piers because you will start to catch something that you can't bring in. That is a blue Marlin and you will catch that fish later on.

9.) Carp
Bait: Earthworm
Location: Village at the end of the wooden pier by the waterwheel
Tips: You may need to catch this first so you can use it as bait for the Giant Catfish unless you got lucky like me. You can catch this before but I waited until Part 2 to catch it. In terms of the sizes of the fish, the carp in this game are pretty small so I suspect you could start catching it after fisherman gambit 2 or 3

10.) Sandfish
Bait: Lure
Location: Near the fast travel boat in the Desert. When you go into the desert, if you follow the right wall, you will see stairs that lead down to a little platform where the boat is. Go to the end to fish.
Tips: This fish will need to be caught as part of Fisherman's Gambit 6

11.) Royal Fish
Bait: Earthworm
Location: Eastern Road in the pond straight ahead as the road forks
Tips: This fish will need to be caught as part of Fisherman's Gambit 7

12.) Blue Marlin
Bait: Sardine
Location: Seafront, 1 of the 3 piers
Tips: This fish will need to be caught as part of Fisherman's Gambit 8, and you will catch some sharks and rusty buckets while trying to fulfill this quest

13.) Hyneria
Bait: Sardine
Location: Desert near the fast travel boat
Tips: Catch this fish to complete the last Fisherman's Gambit and to acquire enough strength to catch the final 2 rare fish.

14.) Dunkeosteus
Bait: Sardine
Location: Seafront Pier
Tips: Make sure you have 20-30 sardines because you will catch a lot of sharks, marlins and rusty stuff while looking for this fish. When your pole does a certain movement you will know you have this fish.

15.) Rhizodont
Bait: Sardine
Location: Desert near fast travel boat
Tips: Look at the above trophy "Fish of Legend" for tips on how to catch this fish because it has its own trophy for catching it.

Follow the baits and locations listed above and you should have no trouble catching the first 13 fish on this list. The last two are a pain but I assure you they are there as long as you have done every Fisherman's Gambit. I have read people say the appearance rate for the Dunkeosteus and Rhizodont is around 10% to 20%. For me, the odds where much worse. I had the chance to catch these two fish between every 1 in 15 and every 1 in 25 casts. In my experience, if I missed the fish then I had to start all over. Most of the time you will know which fish you are going to catch based off of what your pole does before it goes down.

Material Hunter
You collected 50 types of raw materials.

This trophy is pretty easy and should come to you naturally. As you go through the game, always go to the sparkling gathering points in all the different areas. If you have item drop words attached to your weapons, then you will get more raw materials from slaying your enemies. You should get this sometime in part 1. You could even buy a bunch of different materials if you really wanted the trophy quicker but I wouldn't do that or recommend that. There are around 100 different raw materials so you are only getting half. You only have to have collected 50 materials, you don't have to have 50 in your inventory at the time. I believe this to be true because I got mine when I only had about 47 raw materials in my inventory. If anyone knows different please let me know. Down below are 3 lists, items you can sell right away, items needed for upgrading weapons, items needed for quests. Some of the items for upgrading weapons will also be needed for quests. Don't start selling items until you have the trophy this trophy.

Note: This is only items under the raw materials tab so you can sell fish, plants/flowers and recovery items or they may be used in quests but they won't count for this trophy. None of the above items will be needed for upgrading so you can get rid of them all after doing the quests

Items you can sell right away

Aquatic Plant----10G
Berries-----------40G
Tree Branch-----24G
Ivy----------------60G

Upgrade Apprentice
You upgraded 5 weapons to their maximum level.

This is just upgrading 5 of your weapons to level 4. So basically you are upgrading 5 weapons 3 times each. Each upgrade will cost you 1,000G. Look below to "Forging Master" for more tips and info on how the materials you need to upgrade the different weapons.

[top]
Reform Specialist
You upgraded 15 weapons to their maximum level.

This is just upgrading 15 of your weapons to level 4. So basically you are upgrading 5 weapons 3 times each. Each upgrade will cost you 1,000G. Look below to "Forging Master" for all the materials and tips on how to upgrade your weapons.

[top]
Forging Master
You upgraded 30 weapons to their maximum level.

You will need to upgrade all 30 of your weapons. This trophy is going to be the longest as far as grinding goes for you. Refer to this http://www.ps3trophies.com/forums/ni...erial-faq.html for all the materials you will need and how to get them.

[top]
All Aboared!
You rode a boar for at least five minutes.

You first have to do the quest to open this up. In part 1 of the game, a quest will open up from an old man sitting next to the item shop in your village. Go talk to this old man and he will tell you to kill the boar in the Northern Plains. Go hunt this boar that is in the second part of the northern plains and kill it. It will take you somewhere around 65-75 hits to take it down if you are doing it early in the game. The boar's only defense is to charge at you but he will scratch his hoof against the ground first. When you see him doing that, jump behind the boar and he will charge the opposite way. Once you have taken care of the boar, go back to the old man for your reward.

Now anytime you enter an area like the Northern or Southern plains, a boar will be laying down near the entrance. All you have to do is climb aboard the boar with and you can run around with it or you can just stay on top of it. You don't ever have to even move to get this trophy. Climb aboard, go do something else and then when you come back after 5 minutess you should have this trophy.

[top]
The Sheep Whisperer
You killed 100 sheep.

This is pretty simple. Just kill 100 sheep. THIS HAS TO BE DONE IN PART 1 AS THERE ARE NO SHEEP IN PART 2. One of the first quests you get, is to get 10 mutton which is a drop of sheep. This will get you started but you will have to kill many, many more. There will be 5 sheep in the first part of the northern plains and then 5 sheep in the second part. Every time you go through the northern plains, just kill all the sheep and you should get this in no time.

[top]
Lightspeed Fighter
You completed the game within fifteen hours.

This shouldn't be too tough but I recommend saving this as your last trophy. This way you will know exactly where to go and what you are doing. When you do this, you will basically just be running through the game doing only the main quests and none of the side quests. You may want to do the boar side quest so that you can get across the plains quicker. When you go to your menu and Grimoire Weiss, you can see your play time. Keep track of this so that you make sure you haven't wasted any time and create a bunch of different saves.

[top]
King of the Lost Shrine
Defeat Gretel within two and a half minutes.

For this battle you will need to skip through the cut scenes. Start out with the Dark Lance and hit it with everything you got with the Lance. Then he will summon some smaller shades. Stay in the light so that the shades die. Also, try to attack the boss during this time period. After the smaller shades are gone, if you haven't taken enough damage away for the clock to appear, he will go into a spinning attack. Block until he is finished and go back on the attack. You will go through this a few times and then a final clock will appear. Kill him before the time runs out and if you skipped the cutscenes this trophy should be yours. I just used the "Blade of Treachery" upgraded to level 4 but you could also use a two handed sword

Tips from YORGOS:

I used a super pwning two-handed sword and dark lance, dark lance is SO good because it takes out alot of hp of most enemies/bosses. so, equip dark lance and any strong weapon you have and charge the dark lance at it, then he will shield himself with magic, just let the shield go off and attack again, then he will shoot red dark blasts, evade em of take them away with the dark blast

[top]
A True Friend
Defeat a berserking Shade within one minute.

This will happen immediately after the fight with Gretel. You will understand when you get here but so as not to give it away I will leave it at that. This fight is pretty easy, use your dark lance to knock your enemy off the wall or ceiling. Then attack it with everything you got. I used the "Blade of Treachery" level 4 but I think almost any two handed sword or 1 handed sword will do the trick.

Tips from Yorgos:

Right after gretel, again use your super pwning dark lance to make him fall from the ceiling or walls, then just rush it with your strongest weapon

[top]
Boss of the Junk Heap
Defeat P-33 within four and a half minutes.

I also used my Dark Lance to take down the P-33. Then, once that happens, you will eventually be able to attack the shade. As soon as the shade is off the P-33, hit the shade with your most powerful weapon and you should get this done easily.

Tips from Yorgos:

Super pwning dark lance again, fully charge it and attack. at some point, more than half health taken, it will start flying and crashing into everything, parts of the ceiling will fall, just evade and when the P-33 is hit-able just use your super pwning dark lance until the shades come out of it, and kill em.

[top]
Scourge of The Aerie
Defeat Wendy within eight and a half minutes.

In this battle you will need to hit its eye and then fully charge your dark lance until there is no longer something blocking the eye. There will be something that revolves around the enemy. Once the stuff rotating around is out of the way, unleash you dark lance. You may want to use your Magic drop or capsule. Then you will have to run around this enemy and fully charge your lance and hit it from behind. I would skip the cutscenes on this one just to make sure. I just used my lance during this battle

Tips from Yorgos:

super pwning dark lance again, fully charge it and shoot at its eye, repeat this until you can slash it with your most pwning sword. at some part emil will join you, just keep attacking until it moves to the entrance, dark lance its eye.

[top]
Protector of Facade
Defeat Roc within three and a half minutes.

This battle is at the end of the Faccade story line when you go back there a second time. It is a wolf shade, and it is quick, so you will need to kill the pack of wolves first. Then you will be able to fight the master shade wolf. It will move fast, so try to hit it with your dark lance when it is on top of the middle pedestal and then slash at it when it is running around on the ground. Try to corner it and use your best sword.

Tips from Yorgos:

you will be attacked by lots of wolves, i equipped dark hand because its good to take out several enemies, when you're fighting roc spam dark blast until you can hit it with your strongest weapon.

[top]
Permission Granted
Defeat the betrayers within two and a half minutes.

Once you enter the shadowlords castle, this will be your first boss fight. You can probably assume who this will be but I won't ruin it. Fully charge your Dark Lance and unload it on them. This should take away a large part of their life. They will disappear and then come back. Once the pink force field around them goes down, attack them with your best sword. I used the "Blade of Treachery" level 4. This shouldn't be too hard to get but I would skip the cut scenes during the battle

Tips from Yorgos:

Use your dark hand again, dark hand em and then slash em

[top]
A Dirge for the Hero
Defeat Goose within two minutes.

This is the big armored boar. This is the first time you will fight it. It is going to hit you but make sure you press to recover and land on your feet when it knocks you in the air. Keep slashing away at it and you will have this trophy in no time, but skip the cut scenes

Tips from Yorgos:

Super pwning dark lance again, as soon as you can charge your dark lance and hit it, also use your dark blast.

[top]
Soul Crusher
Defeat the betrayers again within three and a half minutes.

Once again when they appear down on the same level as you, hit them with a fully charged dark lance. Then go slash away at them until one goes down. Then slash away at the next one until both are down. Skip the cutscenes

Tips from Yorgos:

use your dark hand again, and your strongest weapon, just spam your attacks, you may use your preferred dark magic attack

[top]
Book Burner
Destroy the world-saving tome within one and a half minutes.

This was probably the easiest one of them all. Just fully charge your Dark Lance and hit the book with it and don't worry about the shadowlord going up into the air. This fully charged lance should kill it and give you this trophy.

Tips from Yorgos:

Use your dark hand and your favorite/strongest weapon, fully charge your magic attacks.

[top]
The Once and Final King
Defeat the Shade inside you within three and a half minutes.

Take it out with a fully charged dark lance when you can and then hit it with the best sword that you have.

Tips from Yorgos:

Super pwning dark lance again and strongest weapon, about half hp taken it will start flying, just evade and use your dark lance when you can. when it starts shooting stuff at you just evade.

[top]
The Strongest Bond
Defeat someone you care for within three and a half minutes.

You have to acquire all 30 weapons to be able to do this battle. This battle will take place at the end of your 3rd play through. Use your best sword to dispatch this enemy.

Tips from Yorgos:
magic didn't really worked for me here, so i equipped my strongest weapon and just attacked until *spoilers* shielded person-self and starts shooting magic at you, evade and wait until you can attack again and BANG.
