IMPORTANT: This game is region locked meaning NA version for NA systems, and Asia versions for Asia systems, and so on. BUT ONLINE IS NOT REGION LOCKED. Just wanting to make sure no one misses the info.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Persona 4: Arena...or as it's called over here in Asia P4U the Ultimate in Mayanaka Arena...oh those creative titles the Japanese come up with.

First and foremost this game is Bo-Polar. 3/4th's of the trophies have a difficulty of 1/10. Even I, someone who is horrible at fighting games not called Dead or Alive, find them easy. But then the other 1/4th of them require skill, real skill.

You are going to plat the game in five stages. Whichever order you do them in is up to you but I'll be making the guide as if you want to plat this game ASAP. Challenge/Score Attack can be done in batches so you can mix and match them whenever you want.

Stage 1: Arcade Mode
Stage 2: Story Mode
Stage 3: Network Mode
Stage 4: Challenge Mode
Stage 5: Score Attack Mode
Clean Up

Stage 1: Play through the game with each character. Make sure to use the instant death move with each character at least once. Also farm all the attack trophies. With a little luck you will have these trophies when you finish the last character

20 trophies...not a bad haul. Now, this is the max you can get in a single run through. Some require grinding and some require some luck to pull off. But they are completely doable. You can also change the difficulty to Beginner and put the rounds to 1 to make it go even quicker.

Stage 2: Story Mode

Pick a character, go through their story, and then pick a different character and repeat. There is a quick and a slow way to do this. Unlike every other fighting game on the market, this game has more story to it than every fighting game in history combined X10. That is not an understatement. I spent 30 minutes reading a novel before the first 30 second fight before having to read another 30 minutes before the next one.

The slow way is enjoy the story. The fast way is go to options and change the text speed to instant and hold down the button, skipping the thousands of pages of text. Win the fights and do it with every character and you'll get the following trophies:

The Kingpin
The Carnivore
The Captain
The Unconquerable
The Emperor
The Beast
The Detective
The Queen
The Boxer
The Angel
The President
The Elevator Attendant
The End of Everything

Stage 3: Network mode

Time for the difficulty rating to spike and break the needle. Online mode has 6 trophies. They are all pretty basic. The two that will cause you to punch a wall are Level 30 and Rank C. The reason is, as of this posting, there is no one to boost those two. You have to play them against the randoms. If you lose you only get 10 XP points, and you need over 1000 to go from level 2 to 3...so if you suck you are going to be grinding long past the 100 matches trophy. Also for Rank C you need to win to up your ranking, and if you lose it goes down. So again, if you suck you'll have to redo matches to just make up for all the work you put into.

Also note that Replay Reviewer does not need to be done online, but I put it here because after every fight they ask if you want to save a reply so it's easier to do here...ugh...so much wasted time...

Finish Network mode and you'll have the following trophies:

Amazing Sensei
Veteran
Speak with Your Fists!
They Call Me...
Black Belt
Serious Gamer
Replay Reviewer

IMPORTANT NOTE: All the grinding trophies are for Arcade and Online mode only. Do not grind in story mode cause it won't count.

Stage 4: Challenge Mode

Lets just destroy the difficulty meter. Challenge mode is simple, you have to do every single move for every single character in the game successfully against a dummy opponent. It will not move unless the move requires it. They also don't have to be done in any order or all at once. But I would suggest getting a stick for this cause a controller is not as accurate.

Finishing it will net you:

I Mastered That One
I Learned a Few Moves
Combo Master
Combo Crazy

Stage 5: Score Attack Mode

This mode is not affected by the difficulty level. As far as I can tell it's auto-set on one level past Hell difficulty and they all have lots of buffs and upgrades. There are also no continues. Get to the last fight and lose it means going back to the beginning and starting from scratch. This will be the hardest part of the game to platinum and requires real skill. It's just like stage 1 and 2. Beat it with every character.

After many wall punches this mode will net you:

Halfway There
Tres Bien!
C'est Magnifique!

Last is just a simple clean up. If you missed any of the grinding trophies just have fun playing arcade, against randoms online, or grab a boosting buddy.

DING! An 11/10 difficulty platinum is now yours.

You know the Midnight Channel?
Tuned In

Just start the game and enjoy the intro. Pretty easy trophy.

Champion!
You completed Arcade Mode with one character.

See Belt Collector

[top]
Belt Collector
You completed Arcade Mode with all characters.

There are 13 characters in the game and you have to beat arcade mode with all 13. Beat it with any one and you get Champion! Then you have to beat it with the other 12 for this trophy.

Its an easy trophy that also helps you grind through all the other grinding trophies, so it makes the 13 playthroughs a lot less of a struggle.

The slow way is leave all the options on default and enjoy the story (Yes, there is a story to it).
The fast way is to change the settings, making it one round and set on beginner level. It's almost impossible to lose unless you don't actually do anything.

Each character has 7-9 fights. Once the you beat it with the last person the trophy will ding! at the start of the credits.

[top]
Halfway There
You completed Stage 6 in Score Attack.

See C'est Magnifique

[top]
Tres Bien!
You completed Score Attack Mode with one character.

See C'est Magnifique

[top]
C'est Magnifique!
You completed Score Attack Mode with all characters.

Depending on how well you do online, this will either be your hardest or second hardest trophy.

Just pick a character and beat all the stages with the character. Get to stage 6 and Halfway There will ding! Beat them all with that character and Tres Bien will ding! Now just beat all the stages with every character and this trophy will be yours. Good luck, you will need it.

The End of Everything
You have seen all the Story endings.

This is unlocked by completing every character's story.

A lot of work for just a silver trophy but at least it's easy. There is a long or short way for this.

Long way: Default settings and read the whole story...all 20+ hours of script. I'm not kidding. There is more text here than in games 3 and 4 combined...its quite amazing and scary...and parts of it possibly foreshadow Persona 5.

Short way: 1 round fights and put the difficulty on beginner. Change the text to instant and just hold in R2 the whole time to skip EVERYTHING. Do the fights, skip the text, bada bing, bada boom, DING!

This will require 15 or more playthroughs. It sounds like a lot but if you do the short way it'll take about an hour or so to do it all. At the start pick whoever you want, it doesn't matter. You'll get to a halfway point and it'll say To Be Continued, and a silver emblem will pop up on their picture that was not there before to signify it. After getting that far it'll unlock some more characters. Keep doing that until you unlock Labrys. (I unlocked her with Mitsuru). Immediately complete Labrys's story which is super short and has 1 fight, and it'll let you complete every story from beginning to end. (Note: Labrys, not Shadow Labrys.) Once you get the ending with one character the silver emblem will turn gold so you know who you beat it with, without having to go to the trophy list.

Don't panic though. You don't need to go back and redo everyone from the very beginning. It gives you an option to start from the halfway point of those that have already reached that far. It saves a lot of time. The trophies will ding! once you go back to the character select screen after the credits.

Important Note: A couple character's have dialogue choices (Yu and Yukiko). They do affect how far you get in their story. If you did not unlock the second half of the stories as mentioned earlier, and it pops up THE END, that means you picked the wrong choice. Thankfully you can save the game in-between the story. For Yu I always picked the options that had me going forward and helping someone. For Yukiko, pick the option where she has faith in her cooking. If you don't, she'll have people taste Mystery Food X, and it'll end the game early since everyone is now too sick to be detectives.

[top]
Trained in Seclusion
You spent 30 minutes in Training in one sitting. Now take it to the streets!

This trophy has to be played. You cannot just leave the game running and grab a coffee and a shower. You have to at the very least keep pressing SQUARE the whole time watching a movie. It will ding! on the same screen once the 30 minutes are up.

[top]
Combo Crazy
You have completed all the Challenges! Funky Student would be proud.

This is one of the hardest parts of the game. For this trophy and those related to it, you have to successfully perform every single move for every single character. Some of them are hard to pull off cause they get set-up in elaborate combos.

I would suggest, if you don't already have one, to get a fight stick if you find one cheap. Controllers don't have the easiest of times pulling off combos.

The easy part for this though is you just need to do it once, and there is no order. Get stuck on one combo, go back to the menu and pick the one after it. Once it's done it's saved and on the menu you can see how many you've done for each character. Good Luck!

[top]
Amazing, Sensei!
You've earned your first online victory! You've bear-ly scratched the surface.

Go to network mode and win a match. Ding!

[top]
Veteran
You have completed 100 online matches, win or lose. No bear puns here. Congrats.

Win or lose, like it said, and the trophy is yours. 100 matches goes by quick so you should have no problem finding someone to play. You might get your butt kicked by a lot of Japanese players though. At least I did cause I got the game 1 week before the US release date.

[top]
Speak with Your Fists!
You've battled against every character in online matches. You're a grizzly'd warrior now!

You will get this while going for the Veteran trophy. In 100 matches you should easily go against all 13 characters at least once. If by some chance you don't, boost it with a partner.

[top]
They Call Me...
You've created a Title for your online matches.

Go into network mode and make a title for yourself. It can be whatever. It doesn't matter and will ding! once you've added it.

[top]
Black Belt
You have reached Grade C in Ranked Matches.

This trophy will take some skill. When you win matches you get PSR points that go towards your ranking. Lose a few matches or against someone with a big gap in points, and it will go down. Not much, but enough to make a dent.

It took me 151 PSR points to get from rank F- to C. Remember it is C, not C-.

All points are pooled between the characters. It seems the matches are made through some kind of tiering system. How it works I don't know yet, but if you get good with one character expect it to get harder and harder as you'll be paired up against the cream de la cream. I got almost 100 PSR with Mitsuru before I swtiched and won a couple matches with multiple characters and DING!. Aim for that 150 PSR total spot and it will come.

Disclaimer: This was done before the game's release in the US. The joys of doing it all against Japanese players. Be careful of the lag once it's released in the US if you get paired up against someone from Japan. Change the match making options if it causes you some problems.

[top]
Serious Gamer
You have reached Level 30 by playing online matches!

Each character has a level, starting at level 1. Win matches and you get XP. I don't know the formula for the base XP but it seems to be based on your opponents level. If you lose you only get 10XP. To even get from level 2 to 3 it takes 2000XP. Just get one character to level 30. Good luck!

[top]
Replay Reviewer
You watched a Replay in the Theater. Are you as good as you remember?

Best place to get this is online. Win or lose a match, click yes to save the reply then go to the replay theatre to watch it. It'll ding! after 10 seconds of watching.

[top]
Mystery Food X
Mystery Food X is yours!

This trophy requires Teddie. I used him and kept spamming circle for his special goodies bag. He keeps throwing out stuff in a pre-determined pattern. Eventually he will toss out a plate of food. Walk over it and get poisoned and the trophy is yours.

I still need to verify 1) the computer can step on it and 2) if you have to be Teddie or if the opponent can be Teddie to get the trophy.

[top]
Wild
You have used all the characters in Arcade Mode or Online. Variety is good for you!

This is impossible to miss unless you do not go for the arcade trophies. Just play one match of arcade with every character. Unmissable if you get Belt Collector.

[top]
Stylish!
You performed 100 Auto Combos in Arcade Mode or online.

Just keep spamming the square button over and over and over and over and over and over and over...It'll pop during the match.

[top]
Action!
You performed 100 Furious Actions in Arcade Mode or online.

Spam X+Circle continuously and it will pop up during the match.

[top]
Time for the All-Out Attack!
You performed 100 All-Out Attacks in Arcade Mode or online.

Press Square+X simultaneously to start it and then press square again to activate it once it hits. You'll know you did it right when the dust cloud conceals both characters. Do 100 times. Pretty simple and hard to miss.

[top]
All-Out Attack to the MAX!
You finished an All-Out Attack with a Fatal Counter in Arcade Mode or online.

This one is tricky and easier to do with a boosting partner. You need to end an all-out attack with a fatal counter, and has to be part of the all-out attack combo. It cannot happen after the combo meter runs out and starts a new one.

[top]
Die for Me!
You performed 30 Fatal Counters in Arcade Mode or online.

Hit the opponent with a fatal counter, and despite the name it doesn't have to actually be fatal. Mitsuru's circle attack gave me lots of them.

[top]
One More!
You performed 20 One More Bursts in Arcade Mode or online.

Start a combo and do a one more burst like they show in the training mode. Note: Counter version one more bursts do not count towards this.

[top]
Null Physical
You performed 50 Instant Blocks in Arcade Mode or online.

Tap the block before the move is about to hit and you get an instant block. It takes time and practice and is essential for getting good at the game. If you want to farm it, get a buddy and you can get it done in one round of online.

[top]
Per...so......na...!
Have you burned your dread? Or reached out to the truth?

The trophy description helps very little with this trophy, but it's so easy I never even noticed it popped for me and was surprised to see it unlocked in my list. Just get dealt enough damage to 'awaken' once and it pops. It has to be done in Arcade or Online. Doing it in story mode will not work.

I've not tried it on the other modes so if someone has info please tell me.

[top]
Persona Breaker
You created 10 Persona Breaks in Arcade Mode or online.

Hit the opponent's persona 4 times to make all the P Cards disappear. This will break them and see it pop on the screen as well. Do it 10 times, or just get a buddy and farm it easily online.

[top]
Calm Down.
You suffered a Persona Break in Arcade Mode or online. It happens to everybody...

Just get your persona hit four times and it breaks. Its not the end of the world so fight on!

[top]
> You Should Leave Him Be...
You were afflicted with every ailment in Arcade Mode or online. Not even Mr. Edogawa can help you.

Just get afflicted with every ailment once. Each character has a different one, and to get fear you need to back-dash numerous times as it's only self-inflicted as far as I've experienced. Boost with a buddy online to make it go faster.

[top]
Meat Dimension
You defeated an opponent in Arcade Mode or online before he Awakened! Now, that's a real challenge!

This is really easy to do. Follow the instructions laid out for arcade mode. Do a Square/Triangle/Circle burst move right at the start of the match, do your instant kill. DING! 5 second trophy.

[top]
Denied Pets
You lost in Arcade Mode or online before you Awakened... That's sad. Here's a consolation prize.

See Meat Dimension except have it done to yourself against a booster.

[top]
Victory Cry
You won 30 Rounds in Arcade Mode or Online by using SP Skills or Awakened SP Skills.

Every character has an SP or awakened SP move, and all of them have one at the end of the Square combos if you have enough SP. Just win a round with using one of those moves, 30 times, and DING! This does not have to be done solely in arcade or solely online, it can mix and match and over different characters as well.

[top]
BAM!
You used every character's Instant Kill move in Arcade Mode or online!

Everyone has an instant kill move. Do this during your arcade trophy run and it will be super easy. Just do the move once with everyone and DING!

[top]
Perfect!
You had a perfect victory in Arcade Mode or online.

This is really easy to do. Follow the instructions laid out for arcade mode. Do a Square/Triangle/Circle burst move right at the start of the match, do your instant kill. DING! 5 second trophy.
