[top]Tips & Strategies

When you start a new game, pay attention to to the difficulty you select.

Easy: If this is your first Strategy RPG or you just want to enjoy the story this is probably the difficulty you want to go with for your first playthrough.
Normal: This mode is probably best for you if you want a little bit more of a challenge.
Hard: This mode is for players who wish to enjoy the battle system of the game.

Note: Your items from old game saves do carry over into a new game, but your items won't carry over from a lower difficulty save to a higher level new game.

[top]Cheats, Glitches, & Exploits

Any cheats, glitches or exploits I will detail for the trophies that they effect.

[top]Roadmap

1. As I mentioned above if you want to get all the trophies in one go you will have to choose Hard as your difficulty level. So, unless you want to do at least two throughways, do that now.

2. Play through the game, starting with the easier trophies (Such as In Title Only, The More The Merrier and Alchemical Aptitude.) Doing the trophies that come later as you advance far enough through the game.

3. Once you have gotten all the way through the game, go ahead and do your new game+. This allows you to keep all of your items and such from your previous play through and in doing that you should unlock the last trophy or two you will have left at this point.

Over all, I found this game was pretty easy to platinum if you knew what was required to unlock the trophies. However, it is time consuming.

[top]Trophies

[top]
Consummate Consummator
Earned every trophy.

Like every other :plat:, get all other trophies and this baby is yours.

[top]
In Title Only
Make sure to check your titles. You can acquire titles at the Adventurer's Guild in town.

Once you enter Dodone there will be a cut scene, once this is over a menu of four different places you can go in the town will come up on the left side. The Adventurer's Guild is one of them. Once you enter the guild, go into the titles. Any of them that you have achieved will be green. On the right side of any green colored titles will be the rewards you get for Purchasing the title. Simply purchase any title and the trophy is yours.

[top]
The More The Merrier
Execute a coordinated attack with six characters.

At the earliest you can't get this trophy until you get Zerva at Zelzagun Fort. Once the cut scene is over and you are taken to the map. Press the button to go into your camp menu and add him to your party. Now, in your next battle position everybody so that they are all connected and make it so all six of them attack the same enemy at the same same time.

Note: I've seen some complaints about this trophy not unlocking if, in battle, you have your annimations set so that they are turned off. If that is the case, when you are in battle you simply go into the Options (It will be the fourth one on one on the list) and set both "Effects" and "Movement" under the "Battle Annimations" to On.

[top]
Alchemical Aptitude
You have added an item to the shop. Keep doing alchemy to add more.

Very much like "In Title Only", this will be one of the first trophies you unlock in the game. The first chance you have to get this trophy is in Dodone. Instead of going to the Adventurer's Guild, though, for this trophy go to the Blacksmith Guild. (If you don't have a manual when you are going to the guild, first go into the Item Shop and purchase one. The cheapest two are "Beginner's Weapons" and "Beginner's Equipment".)

Now, you might have do do some farming to get the items you need just to craft one of the items. I know I did. Simply craft one item and this trophy should unlock!

[top]
Can We Keep Him?
Captured a monster.

To catch a monster you first need the "Capture" skill. (The earliest you can get it is in the quest area Kaystros Mountains. It is a dark attribute skill and at this point in the game Zerva and Vira Lorr are the only two aloud to use it, so equip it to one of them.) Once it is equipped you will be able to capture a monster in battle. However, it does need to be weakened to the point of having only a sliver of life beforehand. (You'll know you've weakened it enough when the monster is kneeling.) Now, use the skill and hope it works. (The characters' LUCK does play a role in determining the success rate.)

[top]
I've Created a Monster!
Combined monsters.

First, you need to have two any given monsters caught. After you have done that go into the Monster's Guild and select the option "Combine" on the right hand side and choose the two monsters you wish to combine. (It does not have to create a new monster for this trophy to unlock as some combinations produce the same monster used to create it.)

[top]
We Can Rebuild Them
Created three marionettes.

After the first generation, you gain access to the Alchemist Guild. In gaining this you now have the ability to make marionettes of the hero and heroines of previous generations. Unfortunately, you need to find the Forbidden Books first. They are all located in quest areas and there is only one for each of the remaining generations:

Ancient Forest (Generation 2)
Frozen Woods (Generation 3)
Bibrest Mountains (Generation 4)
Uttara Kulu (Generation 5)

When you find your first Forbidden Book are are finally able to crate the marionettes keep in mind that they are not cheap to create and the price raises depending on your character's level. Some advice on keeping the price as low as possible is create them as soon as you can and don't use every heroine in every generation too often.

If you are still having trouble affording the three marionettes for this trophy, keep in mind that there is one item that can net you 50,000 very easily. Go to the adventurers guild and select TP Exchange. Look for the item "Vessel of Life", which can be received for 25 TP. Sell the item in the shop and you'll always get 50,000 for it. If you ever have money problems, this is the perfect way to get money.

[top]
What 10,000!?
Dealt over 10,000 damage with a single blow.

To get this you must do 10,000 damage with a single blow. If you decide to grind so that your attack is +999, then this will come naturally to you later in the game. However, if you don't plan to go that route and want this trophy quickly, the best way to unlock it is to use Leonheardt's "Howling Blade" while his will power "Unleash All" is active. This attack is a powerful, one hit attack so if your attack is high enough you should get well over the amount of 10,000 that you need.

[top]
Special Delivery
Used your first Special Art.

For this trophy to unlock for you, you need to combine two EX arts so that they create a combination attack. The first one you should be able to preform is in Generation one and includes Ellis' Shining Storm and Borgnine's Deadly Drive. If you're having difficulty getting this trophy naturally, it's as simple as having Borgnine be the only one to attack and have him placed near a majority of the monsters while Ellis heals. Once you have the appropriate amount of AP and SP to execute a combination attack, then do so.

[top]
Oops
It seems something unexpected was created.

This trophy can be a bit frustrating if you are wanting to get it right away as it is a completely random occurrence. However, it will be obvious if you have done it. When you are preforming alchemy in the Blacksmith's Guild, you will be interrupted with the blacksmith's face and it will produce an item completely different from what was intended. There are no factors that influence this happening however, you should get this naturally through out the course of the game as you will be doing alchemy often over the course of the game.

[top]
Well-Read
Every profile is now available.

To unlock character profiles you must fulfill certain conditions and choose certain decisions to obtain them all. However, if you follow the In-Depth Perfect Path Guide, you should obtain this trophy at the start of your next play thorough. However, keep in mind, to do this you will need to defeat the True ending. Your last character profile will be Chaos Dyshana and you'll unlock this trophy as you open the Character Profile data in the menu when it's at 100%.

[top]
I've Seen Everything
Every item in the gallery is now available.

You have to play on HARD to unlock this trophy!

This trophy will be a bit more time consuming than unlocking the character profiles. For this you must unlock all the appealing Character Gallery images. While it seems like a lot, this can be done in one play though. Following the Perfect Path Guide (Which is listed under Well-Read) will help you in unlocking nearly half of the images. The rest of them are given to you in the form of "Secret Albums" as rewards for completing the conditions for various titles. The secret albums given to you unlock images such as the cave image in Generation Two where you must choose which heroine you fall in the cave with.

[top]
Why Did We Play God?!
Created a special monster by combining other monsters.

To unlock this trophy you must create what is known as a "God Monster" There are two ways of creating one. However, one of them does require you to have one of the DLC packs.

Here they are:

For the formula to create a Luijt, capture the following monsters:
Mucrane (Gem Cave, Magna Val (Game add-on))
Angel (Gem Cave)

Combine these two and you can create a Luijt. However, if you feel that the Mucrane is too hard to capture, you can create it by capturing a Big Eye (Vovokas Pass) and combining it with a separate Angel.

You can also create an Evil Dragon, capture the following monsters:
Mist Dragon (Norace Plain)
Medusa (Ratlaris Plain)
Lesser Demon (Ratlaris Plain)

Combine the Medusa and Lesser Demon into a Dark Spirit (be wary though that sometimes it'll say the result will be a Light Spirit, cancel and try again and it should give you the option of a Dark Spirit) and then combine the Dark Spirit and Mist Dragon to create an Evil Dragon.

[top]
You Always Remember Your 500th
The number of turns has exceeded 500.

Once you have 499 turns displayed on your total turn counter, this trophy will unlock once you enter the next battle as it will give you your 500th turn.

[top]
You Complete Me
You have been loved like there's no tomorrow.

For this trophy, you must marry a girl who has added affection for you past the love interest level cap of five. If you're following the In-Depth Perfect Path guide, this would be impossible, so have a separate save before one of the love adjustment events, preferably the first one.(Or if you are doing several play throughs simply don't use the guide and just choose descsions that always increase the same girls' affection.) When you want to go for this trophy, load that save and make decisions that always increase the love of one girl for you. Proceed past the boss fight of that generation and then marry the girl at the end. The trophy should unlock as the next generation starts.

[top]
For Real This Time
Saw the true ending.

To unlock the true ending, you must meet the following requirements:

When taking over bases in the 5th Generation, go in the order Southwest (Lingen) -> North (Centan) -> Northwest (Vol Tuanor) and make sure you don't get a dark alignment in any of the forts.

Make sure Dyshana and Vashtor join your party. Dyshana will join so long as you're NEUTRAL during the event on Marena Highway. Vashtor will join so long as you DO NOT attack him for 7 turns during his fight.

Make sure you have all 4 Forbidden Books.

Have under 500 turns.

Be NEUTRAL after defeating the final boss of the main story.

Follow the Perfect Path Guide to get this. (The link is listed under Well-Read.)

Note: It seems that if you choose Ellis as your final wife, after beating the true ending you will not get the trophy. So when given the option, pick another female. If you REALLY want Ellis, do it on a different save or on another playthrough.

[top]
Conqueror of the Planes
Defeated the last of the ancient gods.

You have to play on HARD to unlock this trophy!

After defeating the Holy Dragon in the Boundary Plane, fight him again and more paths should open up. Once you have defeated every area in the Boundary Plane, this trophy should unlock. Be warned that the final boss of the Boundary Plane is Level 999 and a difficult opponent. Stock up on items, level up accordingly and equip your party members with suitable gear.

[top]
Titular
Earned every title.

You have to play on HARD to unlock this trophy!

Through out the game there is a total of 142 Titles you have to unlock by fulfilling various tasks. The tasks these different titles range from things as simple as "Kill 100 monsters", to as challenging as "Have all other titles". As long as your are patient, you will earn all of them.

If you are unsure of where to go to check your titles go to a town and on the right side of the screen you will see a list of places you can go. Go to the Adventurer's Guild. Upon entering the Guild go to Title, which will be in a menu of two or three items. Again, this is on the right side. Once you are in your list of Titles, begin to scroll through them. Any you have fulfilled but have not yet claimed the rewards for will be green. After claiming the rewards for them you should see a "Complete" to the left of the title.
