[top]Introduction

Resistance 3 is the 2011 release in Sony's flagship Resistance First-Person Shooter game franchise for play exclusively on PlayStation 3. Picking up right where Resistance 2 left off, players follow the adventures of Joseph Capelli -- introduced in the previous game -- in a desperate effort to turn the tide against the ever-strengthening Chimeran horde. Features include: PlayStation Move support, a large and strategic weapons arsenal, smarter and more agile Chimeran enemies and deep multiplayer options including co-op online and offline as well as progression based 16-player online multiplayer.

Story
It's August 1957, four years after the conclusion of the event of Resistance 2 which left Lieutenant Nathan Hale dead on the battlefield against the invading Chimeran race and Joseph Capelli dishonorably discharged from the U.S. Army for killing Hale. With the Chimera completely occupying the planet, Capelli has given up on the seemingly hopeless fight and has retreated into hiding underground with his wife and young son in Haven, Oklahoma. But as the climate of the planet continues to collapse, scientist Dr. Fyodor Malikov finds Capelli with a plan to deliver a devastating blow against the occupying Chimeran force. In order to protect his family, Capelli must leave them behind and embark on a harrowing mission across the country to New York City. Along the way, he and Malikov will encounter the survivors and remnants left in the aftermath of the brutal Chimeran invasion.

A Complete Multiplayer Gameplay Experience
In addition to an epic single-player campaign, Resistance 3 offers a complete multiplayer gaming experience to share with friends around the corner or around the world. This includes two-player online or split-screen co-op through the single-player campaign and a new, focused progression-based multiplayer experience online that supports up to 16 players.

Key Game Features
  • Journey as mankind's last hope, Joseph Capelli, across a devastated America, making your way from Haven, Oklahoma to New York City.
  • Resistance 3 returns with a fully loaded arsenal of innovative weapons, including classics like the Bullseye, Auger, Rossmore, and Marksman, and increase the firepower of each with a new weapon upgrade system. With the return of the fan-favorite weapon wheel, players now have access to the entire sandbox of weaponry, giving them strategic choices for any situation they encounter.
  • Engage smarter and more agile Chimeran enemies - due to Insomniac's new awareness and cinematic traversal technology that gives the Chimera the ability to traverse any environment to reach you: nowhere is safe. Newly evolved Chimeran species - such as the powerful, leaping Longlegs - are larger and more deadly than ever.
  • Two-player online and local/split-screen co-op gameplay allows players to team up with a friend during Capelli's journey to New York.
  • A new, more focused, progression-based multiplayer experience builds on Insomniac's multiplayer pedigree, while allowing players to take part in the global resistance by battling in locations set around the globe.

[top]Tips & Strategies

  • All trophies are listed in XMB order. This will make it easier to navigate through the guide.
  • Superhuman Difficulty isn't unlocked from the start, so you will need to play at least through the game twice.
  • For the Archivalist trophy, you will get a journal for each new enemy you encounter in the game, each new weapon you get and there are some missable collectable journals spreaded throughout the game.
  • Low on Health? Look on a Militarized Chimera's left leg and see if there is a bright green container, shoot that Chimera dead and collect the health.
  • Weapon upgrades are based on usage and kills. Players can use a gun in a high Chimera area, you can die or retry the area and continue to farm the weapon for a higher upgrade with zero penalty.

Step 2: Complete the game on "Superhuman" difficulty
Now its time for the big enchilada, Brutal is not that much harder than difficult and the enemies appear and repeat the same actions that were performed in other playthroughs so if you remember where the enemy spawns or what attacks are around the corner you can have the upper hand. This can be done on Co-op. Use secondary fire and switch up your weapons often and you'll be fine.

Step 3: Cooperative Trophies and Clean-up
All of the co-op trophies can be done solo but if you partner up remember to do it for both people. Use Level Select to earn any combat or chapter select to earn any missed trophies.

Good luck, follow the guide and you will earn this easy platinum.

[top]How to get the Resistance 3 Platinum Trophy in 1 Playthrough

Yes, you are reading this correctly! After a lot of research I found out that it is possible to get the Resistance 3 Platinum Trophy in just 1 Playthrough. Now, I am sure you are wondering how this is possible and what the requirements are for this, but relax, I will write everything you need to know in here. What do you need?
  • A Resistance 3 Network Pass - This Network Pass will come with every new copy of Resistance 3. If you have used copy of Resistance 3, you can either choose to buy a Network Pass in the Playstation Store ($9.99/€9.99) or do it in 2 Playthroughs. The Resistance 3 Network Pass works for all PSN Accounts activated on your Playstation 3, the Network Pass tied to a specific PSN Account.
  • A Friend with Resistance 3 who has unlocked Superhuman Difficulty - You will need to find a Friend who is willing to play with you through Superhuman Difficulty entirely. In co-op this takes approximately 6 hours, so it's not that big of a deal.

You probably already know what the idea is at this point, but it's a little more complicated so I wouldn't stop reading yet. Once you and your friend are ready, let your friend (who has unlocked Superhuman Difficulty) invite you to a party and start a new campaign mode on Superhuman Difficulty. Be sure he has no cheats enabled! Now you can just play through the entire game with your friend on Superhuman Difficulty and it will count towards the trophy. All Journals (Collectables) you and your partner pick up during the playthrough will also count towards the Archivalist. Be sure to get as many miscellaneous trophies as possible as well so you won't have to replay much checkpoints. Sounds easy right? Well, here is the thing, certain people have been complaining (before this mini guide was here) that the trophy didn't unlock for them! So, are you trying to say this might not work for me? No! The Resistance 3 Servers are laggy and you will most likely disconnect once or twice while playing with your friend through the campaign. Once this happens, let you friend quit the game, invite you to a party again and continue your last level. Because of this, the Resistance 3 Servers might not register your progress, so it won't save that you completed this checkpoint (and the collectables in it if there were any). There is a really easy way to figure out if your progress has been saved or not. From the "Main Menu" go to "Campaign" and select "Load Level". You will now be able to choose out the 5 different cities. If you pick a city, you will get a list with checkpoints of that city. Before each checkpoint, you will see a Chimera Symbol which indicates that you have completed the checkpoint on Superhuman Difficulty. If the game didn't register your progress, that symbol will be missing. To fix it you need to play this checkpoint again on Superhuman Difficulty and complete it. The game will give you a message once you have completed all checkpoints on Superhuman Difficulty, no matter what checkpoint you are on.

If everything goes well, you will reach Chapter 20 in no time. However, here it's getting a little more complicated. The game will disconnect you and your friend right before the final scene! I know, it's annoying, but I can't help it. This means you will need to complete Chapter 20 solo on either "Normal" or "Difficult" difficulty. If all checkpoint have been saved before, you will get the Irresistible Force trophy and you will unlock "Superhuman Difficulty". Now host a party yourself and invite your friend (if you wan't to do Chapter 20 co-op, but can also be done solo) and replay Chapter 20 on Superhuman Difficulty. If you have completed all previous checkpoints on Superhuman Difficulty (and the game has registered them), the Brutal trophy will unlock at the end of the final cutscene of the game.

Complete Campaign Mode on Superhuman

Superhuman is unlocked once you have finished the entire campaign from start to finish on Difficult or Normal. I (bodigard) personally prefer that you play on Difficult to prepare you for Superhuman. Superhuman is truly not that much different than Difficult. The two major differences are: 1. how much damage you take; and 2. how much damage it takes to kill the Chimera. With that being said if you have all Level 3 weapons the task now becomes how you handle all your firepower. The use of the secondary fires of the Rossmore, Mutator, Marksman, Deadeye, and Atomizer is essential. If you feel overwhelmed in a particular area then use these weapon to lay down some cover fire while you set up an Auger Shield and figure out your next move. Taking the high ground with cover is helpful but also constantly being on the move is the best method. Not so much as charging forward, but side to side and even retreating backwards is best in most tight situations.

The most problematic Chapters and Sections are:

Chapter 17 Section"Washington Square"
Start on the left side kill the robots first with the Deadeye. When the first Dropship comes use a Mutator round or two to kill them all. Now the second dropship should be arriving, fire 2 secondary shots of the Mutator in that area and use the rest of the Mutator up. Now the Ravagers should be arriving, quickly use secondary fire of the Marksman and Atomizer to slow them down. The third dropship should be arriving, use the Wildfire here to kill them all in a mass grouping. The main focus here is any weapon with area of effect or splash damage.

Chapter 18 in its entirety
I highly suggest using caution and take your time through this section. Joe will be stuck fighting waves of enemies on top of Stalkers. Best method is to keep a fair distance and use the Deadeye. If you are getting rushed whip out the Mutator and fire off a few rounds to thin the numbers. The Stalkers are a different matter, take about 3 Wildfire rounds to kill and there is little time or cover to kill them.

Chapter 20 Section "Terraformer Core"
The smartest move is to simply sit back with the Marksman or Deadeye and hit all of the yellow strips from a distance and ignore the other Chimera. Once the two lower ones are destroyed the only enemy worth worrying about is the Brawler. But if you use the secondary fire of the Deadeye, Marksman, Atomizer, Mutator, and spam your grenades. Once he is down find a nice spot and take out the 2nd set of strips and once both sets are destroyed run like hell for the exit.

Master Mechanic
Fully upgrade all weapons in Campaign Mode

Weapons upgrade based upon usage and kills. I highly recommend farming early in the game by killing everything, dying, and restarting the area. You are not penalized for this. Each weapon itself can be farmed by the following method:

Find a large grouping of Chimera (Chapter 16 where the Grims, Leaches, and Leapers attack you in the sewer) and continuously kill them until everyone is dead or you die. You will be revived with enough ammo and right back in the farming area and if you check your weapon's progression bar it is still growing. You are not penalized for restarting a checkpoint.

HE .44 Magnum:
  • Upgrade 1: Supercharged Rounds
  • Upgrade 2: Overkill

Marksman:
  • Upgrade 1: Eagle Eye
  • Upgrade 2: Tempest Turret

Don't go in the elevator shaft yet, because the last Malikov Journal of the game (and by that the last collectable in the game) will be laying against the wall on a table just before the elevator.

Silent Partner
Damage the same enemy in Cooperative Mode for 100 kills

  • Suggested Replay St. Louis, MO - Ambush for this trophy.

This trophy should almost come naturally when playing Cooperative Mode, but if you want to have a good spot where you can rack up quite a lot of kills you should try out this level. Keep shooting at the Hybrids, Steelheads and eventually the Longlegs, but try not to kill them yet. Keep shooting a few bullets per enemies and than switch your target (be sure that your co-op partner does the same thing) and most of the kills you get here should count towards the trophy that way. I chose "Casual" difficulty to make things easier and I had to replay this checkpoint only twice in order to unlock the trophy for me.

One Player, Two Controllers Method
Be sure to play on "Casual" difficulty. Joe and John are now at the beginning of Chapter 7 in a prime position to ambush the Chimera and rack up for the 100 kills. Move P2 into position and using the Bullseye JUST HIT every enemy you see. Once you have hit every Chimera move P2 away and have P1 kill everyone P2 has hit. Now a new wave will show up in the lower housing unit, have P2 repeat his previous action by hitting all visible Chimera and having P1 kill them. It will take a few repeats but this is a quick, quiet method to earn this trophy.

Short Out
Defeat the Stalker in under 60 seconds

  • Replay Haven, OK - Death Squad for this trophy.

The best time to do this is when your Bullseye and HE .44 are level 3 and you're playing on Casual. Use minimum ammo kill the initial Hybrids. Let the NPCs deal with them, collect all the ammo scattered around before the Stalker shows up. Now a cutscene will give the Stalker a nice intro. Quickly throw one EMP grenade and begin to fire with all the Bullseye ammo you have. Once the shield has been raised head to the back of the building and climb that ladder. All the ammo and the best vantage point is here, continue to throw EMP grenades and use the Bullseye or HE .44 until the Stalker goes down.

Zookeeper
Kill the Brawler in Haven without taking any damage

  • Replay Haven, OK - Main Street Defence for this trophy.

The Brawler is a militarized Chimera who makes an appearance as Joe and his troops make a final desperate stand against the Chimera as the residents of Haven, Oklahoma escape through the church. The Brawler will leap over a barricade in the cut scene and the battle begins. Immediately distance yourself from the Brawler while throwing all of your grenades. The EMP and Shrapnel grenades will severely wound the Brawler. Even on the hardest difficulties grenades do excellent work on the Brawler. To take down the Brawler you must remove all of his armor which consists of the following: shoulder plates, arm plates, and the chest plates. The bullseye is an excellent weapon to accomplish this when the grenades are extinguished.

For purposes of the trophy use an Auger shield to prevent the other Chimera from hitting you, throw grenades and fire from behind the shield. The Brawler's primary attacks are charging towards you and throwing cars at you. Both of which the Auger shield does not stop. Grenades, spacing from you and the Brawler, and the bullseye are keys to earning this trophy.

Gardener
Destroy 100 blast roots

  • Replay Haven, OK - Escape to St. Louis for this trophy.

Blast roots are first introduced in Chapter 3 right after you earn the Auger. The blast root is a yellow/orange bulb which springs from the ground. Typically, the blast root is in groups of 2 to 5. The blast roots are great for earning environment kills and clearing out large groups of Chimera. You can earn the trophy just after Chapter 5 while on the boat with Dr. Malikov.

Slaybells
Make Santa and his reindeer fly

  • Replay Haven, OK - Escape To St. Louis for this trophy.

You can only get this trophy in Chapter 5, the chapter where you are sailing with Malikov over the water. Just after you have escaped from the Goliath, you will sail next to a few collapsed houses on the left side of your boat. On top of the roof of the last house just before your boat turns, you will see Santa and his Reindeers decoration. You will need to hit the Blast Roots (those little yellow things) below them, so they will explode in order to unlock the trophy.

Bouncer
Keep Chimeran forces from entering the Brewpub

  • Replay St. Louis, MO - Destroyed City for this trophy.

I personally was able to do this on Superhuman with fully upgraded weapons but this method still applies on any difficulty with any weapon. The trick to this section is knowing who to kill and with what weapon. First off there are only two waves, you only need to focus on the Augers and Ravegers for the trophy, and kill the Hybrids only if they are overpowering you. The first dropship will be on the left and will feature 10+ Hybrids, 2-3 Augers, and 1 Raveger. Use the Deadeye to kill everyone. When you see the Raveger use the Deadeye's secondary fire (hold ) to kill him quickly. Aim for his head or his power sticks from his back. Now your allies will announce that another set is coming from the right. Head over to the other area and deploy turrets from your Marksman () and continue to use the Deadeye. The second dropship drops twice the Hybrids but only 1 Auger and 2 Ravegers. The key to earning this trophy is preventing the Augers and Ravegers from getting near the doors. If you kill them before any enemy units reach the door you will earn this trophy. The Deadeye's and Marksman's secondary fire are key to preventing any Chimera from getting near the door. Also, if a group of Chimera are near a blast root, shoot it. Save your grenades for the next area in Chapter 7.

Calm Under Pressure
Defeat the Brawler in the Post Office in under 2 minutes

  • Replay St. Louis, MO - Sewers for this trophy.

Right after defending the pub and escaping from the Chimera in the streets, Joe will enter a car hood which is cover for a tunnel which on the other is a post office. A cut scene will occur showing the Brawler and a platoon of Chimera, now the clock and the fun begins. If you have grenades use them as this will knock most all of the armor off the Brawler quickly. If you are out of grenades use the Marksman secondary fire and deploy turrets immediately and use your bullseye to destroy the armor. You are allowed to select weapons with during the battle for no time penalty. Do not worry about the other Chimera just keep attacking the Brawler. Because the main hall is in an enclosed area the Brawler's attacks are limited just to charging at you and swinging his arms. I was personally able to destroy him in 33 seconds, on Difficult, with 2 EMP and Shrapnel grenades, and the bullseye. Once the Brawler is down set up an Auger Shield and finish the stragglers off.

Snipe Hunt
Collect all Deadeye rifles without dying while fighting the Widowmaker in St. Louis

  • Replay St. Louis, MO - Widowmaker for this trophy.

You will be facing the Widowmaker in St. Louis on Chapter 9 just after escorting Charlie with the power core to the elevator. Once the lift crash and Joseph will jump out of the elevator to get the power core back, you will have to fight to the Widowmaker. Instead of fighting to him, you are gonna collect 3 different Deadeye rifles. Walk over the bridge in front of you and get on the next building. Follow the path until you can go a bit left (there will be a dead body on the floor) and the first Deadeye rifle is leaning against a broken wall. Be sure to pick up the munition for it to count; so if you have a full magazine already, just shoot a bullet away and reload your Deadeye rifle. Continue your way and jump on the little platform leading you downstairs. The Deadeye rifle will be right in front of you once you are downstairs. For the last Deadeye rifle, continue your way to the left and walk up the stairs and follow the platform leading you back to where you came from. At the end of the platform jump to the next one and the last Deadeye rifle will be laying here.

Roops!
Knock a Hybrid off the cliffs in Mt. Pleasant, PA

  • Replay Mt. Pleasant, PA - Cliff for this trophy.

You need to knock a Hybrid of the cliffs in Mt. Pleasant, PA. At the beginning of this checkpoint you will be standing close to the edge of a mountain, with some enemies ahead of you. One thing you need to know about this trophy is that you don't need to knock a living Hybrid off the cliffs, so you can just use a dead body. Try to get this first enemy's attention by shooting at him (you could just backstab him, but then you need to drag the body a lot further), and when he is close to the edge, kill him. Now try to push/smash him over the cliffs and the trophy will unlock.

Frickin' Laser Beams
Get to the first mineshaft without being hit by sniper fire in Mt. Pleasant, PA

  • Replay Mt. Pleasant, PA - Forest for this trophy.

Let it be known that the Dropship's ordinance can harm you and you will still earn the trophy. The only action to prevent you from earning the trophy is if any of the sniper's hit you. With that being said take your time through this section. Do not run and use your Deadeye to contemplate your next move. Follow the red laser beams to its source and kill the Chameleon Hybrids. Kev has another wonderfully detailed video.

Vehicular Manslaughter
Destroy 10 Warden vehicles while on the train

  • Replay Mt. Pleasant, PA - Train Defense for this trophy.

Chapter 13 has Joe and Malikov on a train. The first car has infinite health and the last car has the ammo. The Warden vehicles are plain Jeeps, Armored Jeeps, and Armored Trucks. All of which can be destroyed using the Carbine, Bullseye, or any weapon as long as you hit the front of the vehicle. Aim for the hood and in half a clip the vehicle will be destroyed. The armored trucks will deliver prisoners right next to the train and is a perfect opportunity to get 4 vehicles out of the way. Wait until the armored trucks are unloading personnel, lob a molotov at the prisoners and then move towards the front of the trucks and fire into the hood. The same thing goes for the jeeps just aim at the hood. It is possible to earn this trophy and the Hello Driver at the same time. Focus on the killing 5 driver's first then begin to destroy vehicles. The armored jeeps protect the driver anyway so destroy those.

[top]
Hello Driver
Kill 5 drivers without destroying their vehicle

  • Replay Mt. Pleasant, PA - Train Defense for this trophy.

Use the Carbine or Bullseye for this trophy. During Chapter 13 the Wardens will attack and the vehicles you need to focus on the non-armored Jeeps. The non-armored jeeps will have the driver visible, zoom in on the driver and using only short bursts take him down. Once you see the Jeep swerve violently or see the driver's head fall forward stop firing. You have now killed the driver without destroying the vehicle. There are plenty of Jeeps in Chapter 13 to make this happen. Take your time, line up your shot, and do not over do it so you do not destroy the Jeep in the process.

BARF!
Make 6 Wardens puke at the same time in the prison

  • Suggested Replay Graterford, PA - Cafetaria for this trophy.

In Chapter 15 Herbert gives Joe the Mutator gun and by golly does this sucker work great on human. The best feature is the secondary fire which releases a devastating gas forcing all those caught in its wake to vomit violently and this action is what we want to happen. Joe will progress through the showers and on the other end is the laundry room. Use your Rossmore to take down all the enemies on the lower level, move up the ladder and kill two more Wardens and stop. Beyond the walkway are 6 Wardens and these are the targets we need to hit with the Mutator. One Warden will lob a molotov onto the bridge, keep waiting until 3 more Wardens enter the area and when you can count six of them, using secondary fire () lob Mutator rounds and sit back and watch the violence commence.

One Eyed Jack
Find and kill 'Jack' in Graterford Prison

  • Replay Graterford, PA - The Pit for this trophy.

You need to find and kill 'Jack' in Graterford Prison. At the beginning of this checkpoint you need to follow the little Leaper walking over the walls and you will get into a circular room where you can hear some Wardens speak. Follow the way and climb up the ladder. Walk over the pipes and get to the other side. Continue your way and you will come across 4 Grims. Kill them and a couple more Grims and Leeches will come towards you. Once you have all killed them there will be a way to the left (with a couple of pipes on the wall, just before climbing on the second ladder). Go in there and you will see a lot of mess... and Jack. Shoot at jack with any weapon and the trophy will unlock.

No Escape
Destroy all Warden vehicles in the Motorpool

  • Replay Graterford, PA - Motorpool for this trophy.

In the Motorpool section of the game all hell breaks loose. The Wardens are battling the Chimera and Joe is in the middle of it. The trophy requires that you destroy all Warden vehicles which are in the Motorpool. Be aware if you die then you must retrace your steps to destroy each vehicle. After jumping down enter the first building on the right and destroy the first jeep using your Carbine. The second building will be just north of the crumbled building and will have double garage openings. Inside are two more jeeps. Head outside and to the left and enter the next building to find an armored truck on a lift. Use any grenades or Wildfire ammo to destroy the truck. Bullets will not do the job with the armored truck. Exit the building and head to the final building on the right to find another armored truck on a lift. Use the Wildfire and the trophy will unlock.

In This Together
Defeat the Widowmaker in Times Square without killing a single Hybrid

  • Replay New York, NY - Times Square for this trophy.

After emerging from the Subway Joe finds himself in Times Square with a Widowmaker and a host of Militarized Chimera locked in a heated battle. The trophy states "without killing a single Hybrid". This is surprisingly easy especially if you have and use the Bullseye. The secondary fire locks onto a target and when you use primary fire it goes to that spot. Keep Joe in the pit/ramp near the Subway and use the Bullseye the entire time. The Widowmaker has 3 primary weaknesses (which are the large orange sacks, that is what you need to aim at). Do not use grenades and since you are hidden from the other Chimera you will never be near any of them to risk hitting them. So sit back in the safe area and use the bullseye.

[top]
Good Fences
Don't allow any counter-attackers into the Washington Square base

  • Replay New York, NY - Washington Square for this trophy.

Start on the upper left side and kill the robots first with the Deadeye.

Now its okay the door comes down, if it does you need to quickly throw all grenades in that area, or mines, to clear out the gap. Joe needs to get to that door and stay in front of it for a last stand. The only enemy that will make trouble is the Ravager but if you slow it down and constantly hit its body the Ravager will go down.

  • HE .44 Magnum
  • Marksman
  • Rossmore
  • Mutator
  • M5A2 Carbine
  • Sledgehammer
  • Bullseye
  • Auger
  • Cryogun
  • Deadeye
  • Wildfire
  • Atomizer

Overload
Use the EMP to take down 10 Steelhead Auger shields

Joe will earn the EMP grenades in Chapter 1 and the Auger shortly after in Chapter 3. Everytime you see an Auger (Steelhead) wait until it has raised a green shield. Now is the time to throw 1 EMP grenade. Sit back and farm this if you need to but there will be plenty of Augers in this game especially in Chapter 18 and 19.

[top]
Cheap Shots
Kill 25 enemies firing the Auger through an object

You will acquire the Auger in Chapter 3 while fighting against some Steelheads with Tommy Dean. If you start using it from that point, it shouldn't take too long to get the trophy, however this can be done at any time. Be sure to zoom in () and shoot through an object. An object can be a rock, a wall or something else. Get 25 kills this way and the trophy will be yours.

[top]
Grenadier
Kill 3 or more Military Chimera with a single Grenade

Chapter 4 is one of the earliest and easiest ways to earn the trophy. When the dropships begin to unload Hybrids and Longlegs wait until the Hybrids begin to drop and chuck a Shrapnel grenade in front of the grouping not the middle. The first dropship is a little tougher to pull this off but the second one that enters from the left of the square is perfect. Longlegs will drop first and stay on the ground if they see you, then the Hybrids will drop down and after the first one hits the ground now throw the shrapnel grenade.

We know there are thousands of locations but honestly don't post them in the discussion portion. Kev and I will detail the areas for ya.

[top]
Raining Limbs
Kill 25 Grims using only grenades

The Grim Chimera do not use weapons but rather their speed and numbers to kill Joe. The trophy requires Joe to use his grenades to kill the Grim, it's easy but the best way is to attack the large groups to reduce grenade usage. Chapter 6 is a great place to farm. Kill a few Grim with grenades and then either die or restart the chapter to farm the trophy. Another great place to farm the kills is in Chapter 11, like the video below will show you.

[top]
Corpse Wagon
Detonate fallen Leeches to kill 25 enemies

  • Suggested Replay Mt, Pleasant, PA - Meet Jean Rose for this trophy.

This trophy is a little misleading and very vague. The trophy asks you to wound a Leech in the leg to make its engourged sac fall to the ground and have Chimera step into its path. Use the Bullseye or Carbine to take out its legs, and lure some Chimera into its blast radius. Two goods spots to farm this is in checkpoint "The Pit" and or follow Kev's video. Remember wound the leg with a few shots, let the Leech fall, and lure some Grim into its sac.

[top]
Bloodborne
Kill 3 enemies simultaneously using a single mutated body

  • Suggested Replay Graterford, PA - The Pit for this trophy.

Enter the circular room and using the Mutator's charged primary fire hit a Grim and the explosion will kill 3 other enemies. The trophy asks that one Mutator shot and the Grim the round its explodes and now infects 3 others at the same time. The waves of Grim in this small area is perfect for corralling a few Grims together to make this trophy easier. It should be noted that you must not fire into any of the mutated sacs to force the explosion.

[top]
Grasshopper Unit
Kill 5 Longlegs in mid-jump

You will first come across Longlegs in Chapter 4 just after Lester gave you the Marksman weapon. It's immediately the best place in the game to get this trophy. The best way to get this trophy is to tag the Longlegs with your Bullseye's Secondary Fire and start shooting at him while he is in mid-air. You know when a Longleg is gonna jump when his jetpack extends back and the Longleg drops down. If you don't get enough kills and/or die during the fight, your kills you got so far will still count forward to the trophy.

[top]
Sandman
Kill 5 Grims in a row using only headshots

  • Suggested Replay St. Louis, MO - Destroyed City for this trophy.

In Chapter 6 "Destroyed City" you will receive the Deadeye after dropping the ladder down. Look outside the window, there are 5 Grims. One on the side of a building to the right. Two in the adjacent building roof, and the final two are on the taller building's roof. Take your time to make sure you are targeting the head. If the Grim are throwing objects then wait a few seconds and the Grim will stop and now is your time to shine.

[top]
Body Count
Kill 1000 enemies

This trophy will come eventually during your first Campaign Mode Playthrough. If you die a couple of times, you should be able to get this trophy around Chapter 11, since the kills you had made before you died will still be saved.

[top]
Juggler
Simultaneously burn, freeze and poison 4 separate enemies

  • Suggested Replay Graterford, PA - The Pit for this trophy.

First Joe will need the following weapons: 1. The Mutator, 2. The Cryogun, and 3. Molotovs. Select the Pit level and come to the large, green, circular room where the Grim and Leeches ambush Joe. When you see a large grouping of Grims come together (4+) use the Mutators secondary fire, freeze them all with the Cryogun, and finally throw any and all molotovs you have. It will take a few tries but keep working that area.

[top]
Nothing But Net
Score a basket by lobbing a grenade through a basketball hoop

  • Suggested ReplaySt. Louis, MO - Widowmaker for this trophy.

This trophy can be done in multiple places for example on Chapter 9 while fighting the Widowmaker in St. Louis. Walk over the brigde that is right in front of you and jump off the building at the right side to the baseball field. On the right side of the baseball field there will be a basket and you need to throw a Shrapnel Grenade in it. If you throw the grenade in the red square box, it should get in the basket most of the time.

[top]
Medusa
Freeze 5 enemies at once and destroy them with a blast of the Cryogun's secondary fire

  • Suggested Replay Graterford, PA - The Pit for this trophy.

You need to freeze 5 enemies at once and destroy them with a blast of the Cryogun's secondary fire (). One of the best places to get this trophy is on Chapter 16 - The Pit in the circular room. There will be a lot of enemies so you will have enough chances to get this trophy. Try to walk around the circular room trying to get as many Grims behind you as possible. Watch out for the Leeches though, as they can easy fuck up a lot of Grims if they explode. Once there are enough enemies around you, start freezing them. Once they are all frozen, use the () button, the secondary fire of the Cryogun, to destroy them all at once.

[top]
Bull in a China Shop
Freeze and melee kill 3 Ravagers

  • Suggested Replay New York, NY - Washington Square for this trophy.

The earliest time Joe will have the Cryogun and Ravagers together is the checkpoint New York, NY "Washington Square". During the 2nd wave counter-attack 2 Ravagers will appear and enter the base. Single one out with the Cryogun and completely freeze him. Now use a melee strike . Rinse and repeat the chapter until you have killed three of them using this method.

Backstabber
Kill 20 enemies with melee while they are idle

You need to kill 20 enemies with melee while they are idle (a.k.a. backstab). Enemies will stay idle if they don't notice you, once they see you your opportunity to backstab the enemy is gone. Luckily, there is a really good spot for these kills which should make this trophy relative easy. On Chapter 10 - Cliff right at the beginning of the checkpoint, walk up the little hill and you will immediately see a Hybird you can backstab. A little bit further ahead there will be a Hybrid with a walking upwards the hill which you can also backstab. In front of that Hybrid, there will be walking 2 Hybrids close to each other which you should be able to backstab both if you don't get to far while backstabbing the back Hybrid. Now just die (getting killed by the snipers, or jumping off the cliff). Now for me this trophy was a little glitchy and I thought my kills weren't registering (because I did it several times and should have gotten the trophy, but I didn't) but at the end I seemed to have 19/20 kills required for this trophy, so I suggest you to keep repeating this process until you get the trophy.

[top]
Toast
Use the upgraded Deadeye secondary fire to kill 2+ enemies, 5 times

You need to fully upgrade your Deadeye weapon to level 3 in order to use Proton Charges. An easy and fast way to get this trophy is in Chapter 11 - Meet Jean Rose. At the beginning of this checkpoint, take out your Deadeye and try to kill 2 Grims (they die instantly) at once with only 1 shot. It's possible to get two 2+ kills in 1 life, so you will only need to reload this chapter or die on purpose twice or thrice.

[top]
Counter-Sniper
Use the Deadeye to kill 20 snipers

In Chapter 7 you will receive the Deadeye but you will not come across any Snipers until Chapter 10. A Sniper in Resistance 3 is any human or Chimera with a Deadeye and has a red laser sight with indicates 2 things: 1. where the sniper is and 2. where its aiming towards. Use these two clues to your advantage. When you are at Mt. Pleasant, PA. in the first forest area, there are two sections riddled with Hybrid Snipers with Deadeyes and cloaking devices. Slowly advance in the forest looking for the red targeting laser, when you see one stay still and zoom in with the Deadeye and follow the laser back to its source. You should see a sparkling blue outline of a Hybrid. This is our target sniper, find the head and pull the trigger. You can remain here and farm the trophy.

[top]
Electric Avenue
Use the EMP to take down 25 drones

Chapter 5 is the best place to net the 25 drones killed by the EMP grenade. Malikov will point out where and what the drones are, let the group get near the boat and then throw () an EMP grenade into the bunch and watch them fall out of the sky. EMP grenades are great for taking down all drones and you should use them often because later in the game certain drones will make blind you, shield your enemies, or even make you an easier target.

[top]
Warp Speed
Use the Atomizer secondary fire to kill 30 enemies

Joe will earn the Atomizer in Chapter 6 and this baby packs a wallop. The secondary fire () projects a disk which will expel shock matter to any and all enemies that get near it making a great defensive weapon, especially against Grims who happen to be the best targets for this trophy. I would farm this trophy in the warehouse in Chapter 6 or later on in the circular sewer area of the Pit in Chapter 16.

[top]
Feeling Lucky, Punk
Detonate multiple Magnum rounds to kill 2+ enemies at once, 5 times

Chapter 6, great place to farm this is after earning the Deadeye and moving across the bridge. There will be tons of those leapers in a small apartment building. What makes this work are the small hallways the leapers come down, fire two HH .44 round onto the floorboards and when 2 or more leapers approach hit and the bullets will explode killing the leapers with the HH .44 Magnum's secondary fire. For an efficient method lure only 2 or 3 leapers at a time to the kill zone and repeat the process until you have performed this action 5 times.

[top]
Fireworks
Use the Wildfire secondary fire to kill 6 enemies in one shot

There are several spots where you can get this trophy, but a good place where you should be able to get it without any problems is on Chapter 11 - Meet Jean Rose. From that checkpoint, run to the plaza and wait here a couple of seconds so enough Grims will come after you. Walk straight ahead in the house in front of you (next to the Leech on the right side) and go through the left door to the pub room. Don't go up the stairs but wait there until you are surrounded by at least 6 Grims. Once there are enough Grims around you, shoot with the Wildfire secondary fire () and the trophy should unlock.

[top]
Boom Stick
Use the upgraded Rossmore secondary fire to set 6 enemies on fire at once

In order to be able to use the upgraded Rossmore secondary fire, you will need to have it at Level 3. Once there are enough Grims around you, shoot with the Rossmore secondary fire () and the trophy should unlock.

[top]
Tag, You're It
Kill 40 Bullseye tagged enemies

The Bullseye's secondary fire () fires a single beacon into your enemy target that will attract all bullets fired from your primary fire (). This is great for hitting a heavy enemy and hide behind some cover. Now for purposes of this trophy start using this in Haven, OK in Chapter 2 and beyond. You must have tagged the enemy with the Bullseye and killed the enemy while the tag is active. A good use for this is against the Longlengs. Wait until a Longleng has landed, tag him, and unleash hell.

[top]
Opportunity Knocks
Kill 20 enemies with environmental objects

The blast roots are highly volatile and with a few rounds will explode in a large blast radius. Which makes killing Chimera that much easier. Joe can farm this trophy while he is on the boat with Malikov in Chapter 5. Look for the Grim on the rooftops of the homes and especially in the motel portion on the left side of the boat. There are scores of Grims near the blast roots. Also, in later levels it is necessary to use blast roots to slow down enemy waves that attack while going for other trophies and for progressing.

Expert Sniper
Get 50 headshot kills in Campaign Mode

Headshots are absolutely a necessity in this game if you want to progress in this game quickly and not spend hours dying. The Deadeye and Marksman weapons are perfect for accomplishing this task. Even the Bullseye and Carbine have excellent Iron Sights in order to kill any and all Chimera with headshots. The upgraded Deadeye will further make your chances of a headshot possible with its advanced targeting along with the upgraded Marksman with its enhanced zoom.

There are 3 vehicles Joe will use in his travel to New York. The first is the boat driven by Malikov in Chapter 5. Next, Charlie and his Remnants will take Joe to Pennsylvania at the conclusion of Chapter 9, and finally in Chapter 13 Malikov will take Joe closer on his journey in a train. The trophy will soon pop after Joe's ride on the train.

Buckshot
Kill 2+ enemies with one Rossmore blast

Joe will receive the Rossmore shotgun in Chapter 5 while on the boat with Malikov and this go around the Rossmore comes with more of a kick. Not soon after you receive the weapon Joe will find himself in a warehouse in Chapter 6 surrounded by Grims. Let the pesky Chimera surround your screen and pump a shot into their heads.

Access Denied
Absorb 1000 damage with Auger Shields

Joe will receive the Auger in Chapter 3. The secondary fire () will fire a yellow shield which absorbs damage (all damage is absorbed except for Auger shots, even Wildfire rockets will be stopped by the shield). It will take awhile to rack up the necessary 1000 points worth of damage, but I highly suggest you use the Auger Shield often not only to earn this trophy but also to progress further in the game with ease.

From the Hip
Kill 50 enemies with the Bullseye or Marksman while moving, without using zoom

Firing from the Hip is a great tactics for Resistance 3 to master. The Chimera will have trouble hitting you but at the same time you will be able to take out your foes with ease. Use the Bullseye or Marksman without zooming and while Joe is actively moving (strafing left or right) to earn this trophy.

Chamber Full of Death
Kill 5+ Hybrids at once by using the HE .44 Magnum secondary fire

At the very end of Chapter 20 Joe will be hanging on for dear life as the terraformer crashes into the tower. Joe will be holding his HE .44 towards a bridge. Fire multiple (its infinite ammo time baby) round onto the bridge and when you see 5+ Hybrids (trust me there were 10 of them when I fired) use the secondary fire () and watch the sparks fly. If the HE .44 is at Level 3 each shot will produce 2 more floating rounds thus increases the blast radius.

Helping Hands
Revive a Co-op partner 20 times

One Player, Two Controllers Method

Select Cooperative-->Level Select-->Superhuman-->Forest. Lead P2 over to the right and into the line of fire of any of the Chimera Snipers. P1 needs to stay hidden and behind cover while P2 falls. P1 can just sit there and revive.
