[top]Tips & Strategies

  • All trophies are in XMB order
  • SOCOM 4 (Special Operations COMmand) is a squad based third person shooter. Unlike traditional SOCOM games, this game isn't based purely on Stealth to overtake objectives. While some missions are based purely on Stealth, most of the missions involve large gun fights against large groups of enemies.
  • You will need to learn to use your teams to survive in SOCOM 4. This isn't a game you can play through on your own like Jon Rambo and do everything yourself.
  • Your Blue Team is your Navy SEALs team, Wells and Schweizer. They excel at Close Quarters Gun Battles and should generally be placed in cover at the front of the battle point you want to hold. Use the button to move Blue team into cover and have them attack enemies.
  • Your Gold Team is your Korean Special Forces Team, Chung and Forty-Five. This team excels at Silent Takedowns and sniping. They should always be placed somewhere behind Blue Team to provide sniping support on the ground forces. Use the button to move Gold Team into cover and to order them to attack enemies.
  • After you acquire Gold Team in Chapter 2 you will be able to ambush targets. Press and hold either the or to highlight a target, then press the to order your team to attack when you are ready. You can use this to take out patrols from cover quickly without getting into a large battle.
  • The standard controls are similar to every SOCOM game with the exception that instead pf pressing the to zoom, you need to press the to go into precision aiming then click the to zoom into the scope mode. While in Scope mode you can use the to zoom to higher magnifications on the Low and High Scopes.
  • Please don't message me and ask me how to change the view to 1st person to match the controls you changed to be the same as Call of Duty. SOCOM IS NOT a 1st person shooter.....While I'm on the subject, I don't even want to know if you had to change the controls to match Call of Duty....Call of Duty N00b
  • You need to hold the button while playing online to use the mic and talk.

[top] Hoff's Path to Platinum

  • First Playthrough: This is your easy playthrough to learn the game, and learn the enemies locations and spawn points. You can play this playthrough on any of the difficulties including Easy, but the easier you play this one on, the bigger your difficulty curve will be for Elite. You should get most of your kill trophies on this playthrough. If you are playing on Easy make sure try and get the Expert Tactician trophy on this playthrough. You will also want to focus on your collectibles so you can just concentrate on surviving on Elite. Grab the Information Warfare and the The Sweetest, darkest Juice is at its Core trophies on this playthrough.
  • Second Playthrough: This is your Elite run for the Best of the Best trophy. You don't start a new game, simply select Campaign, then change the difficulty and redeploy into chapter 1. Before you start, check through your weapons in the main campaign menu and write down what weapons are still locked. While you are playing, look for these weapons and if you find one pick it up and keep it until the round ends to unlock it. Doing this will get you the Armed to the Teeth trophy before the end of your Elite run and prevent you from having to replay levels looking for guns. Also pick up any Intel or Taroccos you may have missed on your first playthrough.
  • Cleanup: Once you are finished with Elite, cleanup any SP trophies you may have left.
  • Custom Campaign Missions: These you can play from either Co-op or Single Player Campaign, but you will need to play at least once on a co-op and once on a Single Player.
  • Online Trophies: Only two of these trophies, so it should be fairly quick.
  • DING!

Field Promotion
'First Strike' - Complete your first mission as Ops Commander.

This is a story based mission

This trophy will unlock after you have completed the very first mission ,First Strike.

Elite Ops Tips
  • Overview: This level is one of the easier levels of the game, but can still represent a challenge as you only have one team and not all your commands at your disposal from the start of the level.
  • Recommended Weapons: Preselected for by the Game
  • On the very first ambush of the game, after triggering the guards, head back up the stairs and take cover and shot down at the enemies. Your team will take out most of them.
  • At the First Airstrike, make sure you stay in cover and toss some grenades at the enemies below. A well tossed grenade will take out most of the enemies and make this battle really easy. After they are all dead, make sure you time the cannons from the tanks so you don't get shot while laser targeting them. If they are moving, make sure you lead them with your target as it takes a few seconds for the rockets to hit them.
  • At the next ambush, order your Blue Team to the cars in front of you, then stay back by the trucks. Use your to precision aim and take out the Rocket Launcher wielding guards in the skywalk and your Blue Team should take out most of the incoming enemies. Once the Skywalk is clear, help take out the ground troops.
  • When you get to the stairs, head down to the right, and now you will have the ability to split up your team. Order one man to the small cement block in the road, then order another to the pillar parallel to the first Blue team member. Now head back up the stairs and take up your position at the top in the cover by the stairs leading down on the left side. There will be a Rocket Launcher enemy all the way down on the right on an elevated balcony. Take him out first then help your team take out the stragglers.
  • Stay on the left side and when you get near the end of the plaza, order your team to some cover in the middle parallel to yourself and they should distract most of the enemies allowing you to take them out from the side. When enough of them are dead you will get the Airstrike prompt. Take out the Artillery and make sure the guy with the Rocket is dead on the upper left, then head to the Car to end the level.

Rendezvous
'Rendezvous' - Rescue the surviving allies at the NATO rally point.

This is a story based mission

This trophy will unlock after you have completed the second mission, Rendezvous.

Elite Ops Tips

  • Overview: This is still part of the training for the game as you pick up the gold team in this level. Not very challenging except the surge on the AA gun at the end.
  • Recommended Weapons: Sniper Rifle and Assault Rifle or SMG
  • From the start of the map, stay in cover and don't even bother with the guys on the road. Your first kill should be the lone guard when you are given the Stealth Kill prompt. After killing him, take cover by the log and toss a grenade in between the 3 enemies taking pics then use the log for cover to take out the advancing enemies from the hill.
  • Now proceed quietly to the ambush point and take up cover at the house overlooking the battle between 45 and Chung and the enemies. Make sure you take out the enemies below you first, as they will be shooting at you. After that you can take out the rest from the vantage point with little difficulty.
  • After joining up with Gold Team, do the Ambush tutorial then proceed up the hill, place the Blue Team on the left and the Gold Team behind the back cover on the right, then take out all the enemies at the camp.
  • Now move yourself up to the wall at the start of the camp on the right side, and move up your teams down the road on the left towards the pickup to trigger the second wave of enemies and take them out.
  • Now move down the road, and on the right side before you go down the hill is a big house. In front of the house is a nook with some cover, place Gold Team there. Head around the back of the house and you will see a ramp leading up to the house next to it. Send Blue Team up to the cover on this ramp. Now head back to the first house and head up the stairs in the backyard. Head to the corner of the back wall and take out the sniper on top of the building the AA gun is located at to start the battle. Once the battle ends, plat the C4 to end the level.

Beowulf
'Leviathan' - Destroy the enemy stealth frigate to ensure the safety of the remaining NATO fleet.

This is a story based mission

This trophy will unlock after you have completed the fourth mission, Leviathan.

Elite Ops Tips

  • Overview: The only difficult part of this level is getting past the cannon. This level is also your first opportunity to earn the Expert Tactician trophy.
  • Recommended Weapons: Sniper Rifle and Assault Rifle or SMG
  • From the start of the map, move your team down towards the train yard first to attract the enemies, and from a safe distance take them out with your Sniper Rifle.
  • Move into the yard and take cover where the available Sniper Rifles are sitting by the covered area in the yard. Now move the Blue Team and Gold Team into cover on the left side of you so they have a clear view down the road. Once you are in place take out all the snipers on the upper walkways FIRST. Then a pile of ground troops will attack. Stay in your cover and take some out with the sniper rifle and the rest your team should take out as they funnel down the road.
  • Move up to the building and you will find one or two stragglers in there and refill on ammo.
  • Now move straight out of the building and into cover and pop a couple smoke grenades to your right, then run to cover behind the shipping crate. Now this will get blasted by the cannon, so don't be right next to it, just use it for quick cover. Now pop a couple more smoke grenades to your right and sprint from the right to the next set of cover. From here, you will have good cover from the cannon and you can kill the enemies in the middle without being hit by the cannon.
  • Now move along the cover until you get to the wall. Use the small pillar on the wall for cover and press the to make sure your teams are regrouped with you. Now sprint to the other side of the map and when you get there, the cannon will blast the large piece of equipment and crates will fall out. Move to the left of the truck and take cover against the side of the truck at the trucks vertical beam. Now put both teams in the cover to the left of you and take out the enemies who spawn. after thinning some out, move the Blue Team and Gold Team up to the two cover points at the front of the truck and they should take out the rest of the enemies in the area.
  • Now move up to the cover they are at, and redirect the Blue Team to the cover in front of the large building in front of you, and place the Gold Team on the cover to the left to watch down the alley next to it. Now watch sit back at your cover and snipe the enemies that spawn when they get to their cover points.
  • Move through the building and move both teams up the ramp onto the ship. When you do this you will have two enemies that spawn to the far right on the ship. Take them out with your sniper rifle. Now move up the ship ramp a little and move the Blue Team to the edge of the corner on the left and two more enemies will spawn at that corner. Now move all the way right and at the end of the walkway before moving out the deal with the cannon, snipe the 2 snipers who are positioned on the shipping crates to your left side. They are easy to see if you follow their lasers.
  • Place the C4 on the front and back of the ship points then look down the ramp to leave the ship and you will have a couple guys charging. Take them out, then put your teams in position on the right and left sides of the gate that exits the area.
  • Take position behind your team and as they take out the guards, take out the 3 snipers that appear. Now move them forward to new cover and some trucks will appear with more enemies. Take out the 3 new snipers that appear and help finish off the ground troops to give yourself a clear path to the extraction.

Whatever it Takes
'Fluid Dynamics' - Stop the Naga forces from reaching the capital by whatever means necessary.

This is a story based mission

This trophy will unlock after you have completed the sixth mission, Fluid Dynamics.

Elite Ops Tips

  • Overview: This level isn't very difficult except for the Control Station defend at the end of the level. This is also a good place to level up your weapons if you still need to for the trophies.
  • Recommended Weapons: Assault Rifle and MG or SMG
  • From the start of the level, place your teams by the small walls that overlook the area and use this vantage point to eliminate all the guards. Take out the snipers first, then help your team with the rest of the guards. Now head into the area, and you will have two more small ambushes as you leave the city. Place your teams in the available cover and use grenades or your sniper rifle to destroy the vehicles with turrets on them from a safe covered distance.
  • Head down to the Dam Control Station and place your teams on each side of the front door, then toss a grenade inside. Hide yourself on the cover behind them so you can see inside and you should be able to easily take out all the advancing guards from this vantage point. Now head up the stairs, take out the sneaky hidden enemies, and use the controls, then make your way out of the Dam Control Building.
  • Final part is the Water Shutoff Control Room. Place your teams on the left and right side of the doors for the initial wave. and take out all the enemies from the right and left sides. Now use your MG, if you don't have one you can grab one from inside the small room, and use the ammo box as cover and shoot the helicopter until it starts smoking and flies away. Now repeat this process for the next set of enemies and the next helicopter part. For the final set, they will add a sniper on the roof on the left and right sides. Peek through the door and window and take them out, then put Gold Team behind the ammo crate and move yourself back into the doorway to the small room. I have found the AI will often get overrun on this part so its important to give yourself some more distance from the fighting. Once the helicopter comes back, move Gold Team back up by the door then take your spot at the ammo crate and finish off the helicopter to end the round.

Trial By Fire
'Means to an End' - Confront Razad and expose Naga's partnership with ClawHammer.

This is a story based mission

This trophy will unlock after you have completed the eight mission, Means to an End.

Elite Ops Tips

  • Overview: This is the first truly hard mission of the game, that has difficult areas throughout the entire level. The timed extraction at the end, could break most trying to go for
  • Recommended Weapons: Sniper Rifle and Assault Rifle or MG
  • From the beginning of the level, move down the road, and take the path that branches off to the right side and set your teams up behind the houses to take out the few troops in front the houses.
  • After the enemies are all dead set your teams up on the two pieces of cover that are in the open field. Now toss a grenade into the middle and retreat back to the corner of the houses you came from so you can watch the entrance to the field from the house. With this vantage point you should be able to clear all the enemies in in this section before moving up.
  • Once they are all dead, head down the road to the checkpoint and place your Blue Team at the cover by the crates on the right side of the road by the start of the large pipeline. Now place the Gold Team by the small shack on the left of the road. Turn to your left and you should see a house with stairs you can climb. Use these to get to the house on top of the hill and you will have a side vantage to snipe the snipers who are focused on your team.
  • Once the enemies are all dead move your team up and onto the cover on the road in front of you to trigger the next wave of enemies from the end of the street. These will be easy from your sniping vantage point.
  • Now move to the end of the street and take your first right, then your left into the town square and be prepared for a battle. Move your teams up into the middle to take cover, then run to either the middle or left sides and grab a rocket launcher and take out the Armored Vehicle as fast as possible. The quicker you take it out the quicker this part is. After it is destroyed, move your teams up to closer cover and take out the guards by the city walls.
  • Move through the gate and move to the right. Inch around the corner and place one of your teams at the cover in front of you. Now run over to the other side and place the other team in front of you so they can work on the ground guards. Now take out the sniper on the right balcony, then move over to the left and take out the sniper on the left balcony and finally take out the rest of stragglers left on the ground.
  • Now move into the palace and replace your sniper rifle with either an assault rifle or machine gun, take out the two guards upstairs and confront Razad.
  • Now to escape. Sprint down to the bottom, and place your teams at the crates that are on the left and right side of the doors. Take cover behind them at the back crates and you will be be able to take out almost all the enemies without heading outside.
  • Now you need to get out of the gate. Order your teams to set up outside the gate at the small wall on the right and left sides facing the middle. Once you have done that, sprint over to the right and take cover on the small pillar on the end of the small wall before you get all the way to the building. From here concentrate on taking out all the enemies as quickly as possible. Once you feel comfortable, move up to the cover on the right side and move your team to the middle. head down the right from cover to cover, and watch out for the Rocket Guards on the left side balconies until you get to the buildings on the other side of the plaza. Now pass under the awnings over to the right side so you can't get hit with the rockets and then at the end of the building turn right and take out the Rocket guard who is on the ground. Head around the corner and you are almost to the extraction. Move your Gold Team up to the first set of cover in the middle on the left, then move your Blue Team up to the cover on the right in front of that. If you have grenades try to land some on the roof. Take up cover on the small wall before you drop down into the middle and take out the first wave of enemies. Now drop into the middle, and move over to the refrigerator on the right. Take out the remaining opposition and get up to the extraction to end the level.

Allegiance Exposed
'Revelation' - Expose Gorman's treachery and determine his true allegiance

This is a story based mission

This trophy will unlock after you have completed the tenth mission, Revelation.

Elite Ops Tips

  • Overview: If you already have all the collectibles, you can breeze through this level in about 15 minutes max.
  • Recommended Weapons: Preselected for Stealth
  • Proceed to the top of the hill, stealth kill the guard, then continue down the road on the right side. When the wall breaks right, head to the right all the way to the pillar. Now follow the wall to the left and stop behind the crates. Toss a shell casing to the left side to distract the guard and head into the building .
  • Watch for Gorman when you enter the building, sometimes he is right there and if this happens slowly move around the crates in the middle of the entrance until you have a clear shot at the stairs in front of you.
  • Head to the top of the stairs and plant the bug on Gorman's helicopter.
  • After the cutscene head down the stairs in front of you, then turn right and head down the next set of stairs to the ground. Go all the way to the wall then turn left and follow the road up. Ignore the guard on the path and head through the bottom towards the closed door, then head up the hill on the right and stay in the brush to get to the last area.
  • Immediately turn left and head down the hill next to the Gate wall and cross the street to the tall bushes. Use these bushes to move clockwise over to the sunken lit area with one guard. hug the outside of the path and head up the stairs on the other side. Now stay on the outer left wall and move around until you can get into the building. Turn left and snipe the guard in the hallway then proceed to the extraction.

Eye in the Sky
'Uninvited Guest' - Secure the intel that reveals ClawHammer's true objective in the region.

This is a story based mission

This trophy will unlock after you have completed the twelfth mission, Uninvited Guest.

Elite Ops Tips

  • Overview: If you already have all the collectibles, you can breeze through this level in about 15 minutes max.
  • Recommended Weapons: Preselected for Stealth
  • In the first area, head down the path avoiding the Claymores that you can see by their red lights to get to the camp. You don't need to kill anyone, simply move down the road in the bushes, wait for the guard to leave the missile area, then use a bullet casing to distract the guard watching it on your left. When he walks away head down the road, sticking on the right side, and up the road.
  • In area 2, take out the three snipers first, and take out the lone guard by the sniping tower on the outside of the area. Now sneak into the compound on the helicopter side and immediately go right and behind the stack of crates. use a bullet casing to lure the guard by the door towards the back of the building in the shadows then take him out and move his body behind the building. Now head behind the building over to the other side, peek in the doorway and make sure nobody is watching, then head in the door and immediately turn right to use the computer against the wall.
  • Now head back out the same door and turn left. Stay in the long grass and hug the wall and when you get by the tent, move through the opening on your right to a back area then head towards the tank in front of you. Quickly move to the right side of the tank, while staying in the shadows and plant the C-4. Now head all the way back to the entrance to the compound we used after killing the snipers. Instead of heading through it quickly put a C-4 on the tank that is right next to it.
  • Now move back through the entrance and head towards the last tank. When you get over by the stairs there will be a guard. Make sure he is on the side of the building and not out in the open and shoot him with your sniper rifle then move to the left side of the building. Head inside, don't worry about the lights. and place the final C-4 charge. From here you can either move around the tank and kill the guard, or head back out the door that you came in to get to the tank. Either way you need to head to the back left door which is the exit to end the level.

Passing the Torch
'Countdown' - Stop ClawHammer's missile launch and promote Forty-Five to Ops Commander.

This is a story based mission

This trophy will unlock after you have completed the thirteenth mission, Countdown.

Elite Ops Tips

  • Overview: This is BY FAR the most difficult mission of the game. This is the make or break point for the
  • Recommended Weapons: Sniper Rifle and MG
  • From the start of the map, head up the stairs on the right until you see a small wall. Place Gold Team behind the wall and place Blue Team in the cover in front of the wall then use your sniper rifle to take out one of the guards and retreat back to the log by the road. From here, take out the guards with your sniper rifle while they are distracted by your team.
  • Proceed up the right side and through the water taking out the guards on the bridge as well as on the next path and head to the first difficult area.
  • Head up the stairs on the right side and into the large building. position Gold Team at the entrance you used to the building and position Blue Team at the entrance on the other side to take out the incoming guards. Now Stealth Kill the sniper in the doorway then quickly move over to the stairs on the blue team side. Inch down the stairs and look out towards the road until you find the Rocket Launcher guard. use your sniper rifle to take him out so he can't pound your blue team with rockets, then retreat back into the building. Move over to the unguarded entrance and use either your sniper rifle or MG to take out as many of the advancing enemies below as you can. When the enemies have moved closer to the building, move over to the Blue Team door and help kill any advancing enemies on the stairs. You will need to occasionally move down the stairs and peek around the rock at the bottom and kill one to get more of them to charge and when this happens just retreat back to the Blue Team entrance. When it seems most of them have died, there will be a couple stragglers from the front window almost directly below you. Head out Blue Team door, and position Blue Team and Gold Team into the cover down by the road and this should distract the remaining guards so you can shoot down on them from above.
  • In the next section, move both teams to cover on the right side of the road, then take cover on the left side and use your sniper rifle while poking out of cover to take out the Auto Turret. Once the turret is down take out the sniper up in the tower. Now move over to the right side and move your team up to the next cover at the small camp and they should take out the stragglers.
  • Now be prepared, it is hard from here on out! Grab a drink, use the bathroom, troll some n00bs and de-stress for a few minutes as you will most likely have a lot of rage when you are finished.
  • Head up the road and position the Blue Team behind the right side shack, and the Gold Team behind the left side. Now creep over to the cover on the right side of the right shack and take out your grenades. The three closest turrets have exploding drums right next to them. Time the rockets and guns and toss grenades to land close enough to each of the exploding barrels to take out the three turrets. While you are doing this, watch the hill to the right. There is one really irritating guard who ALWAYS likes to climb up it and flank you. If he gets to you, with all the other bullets you are dead. If he is coming crouch retreat from cover to the road and take him out when he comes up the hill. Now head back to cover on the right and peek around the corner with your sniper rifle to take out the last rocket turret. Now cautiously start taking the other guards out with your sniper rifle and when the area is clear move your teams up and head to the Ammo box and refill.
  • In the next oh so fun area, look to the right side in front of you and there will be a small dip in the terrain and on the other side of it is some cover. Place Gold Team at this cover and place Blue Team on the cover in front of it then head to the right. On the right side get in the very back cover that is still close to the road to have a good snipe point. Take out the Rocket Launcher on the right first, then the sniper in the right window and the machine gunner that is with him. Now take out the 2 machine gunners on the rocks on the right and finally the Rocket launcher on the left. Now you can take out the advancing ground troops safely from cover. If someone goes down just concentrate on sniping the ground troops then heal them when they are dead. Once you have killed them all, look to the left of the road for a stone path that leads around a large rock to a small staircase. Head to the stair case and look up on the rock hill and there will be one sniper left in the window, take him out. Sometimes this sniper spawns on the other side of the ruins and if he does, go to the cover by Gold Team and you can get a clear shot of him from there up in the left window. Once he is down, move your team up first as another machine gunner will appear on the right side. Once he is down you are clear to move into the building.
  • In the building be careful around the first corner as there is a small ambush, a well placed grenade can take care of this problem. Now in this ambush hallway, look at the wall to your right. These holes are going to be your ambush point for the next area. the first one will be your point. The second one has a some boxes by it, place Gold Team at this one. Go through the door and place Blue Team at the cover on the right side of the door. Now search the dead bodies for another MG as the time for the sniper rifle has come to an end. Now follow the path to the open room and move out just enough to get the enemies coming, then run back to your ambush point. From here, as the enemies come up the stairs, you can take the majority of them out. Try to at least wound most of them that way by the time they get to Blue Team they will be an easy kill and won't get to your hallway. Keep an eye on Blue Team, if one of them goes down, move to the right to the corner and watch down your hallway in case Blue Team gets overrun. If the enemies throw any grenades into your hole, you can usually edge around the left wall and avoid it. If you have to reload, toss a grenade through the wall and the enemies will take cover giving you time to reload. Once they are all dead proceed with caution picking up as much ammo as you can for your two machine guns. At the stairs leading out of the control room, send your teams into the next area first as there is usually a shotgunner waiting to spoil the day. Once you have made it to the stairs you are clear.
  • The next part took me 5 1/2 hours over a course of 2 days to beat, so if it takes you a while don't feel bad. When you get to the missile, take out the lone guy who is guarding it, then move GoldTeam into the room on the right side of the missile otherwise that n00b Chung will most likely die! Now head to the cover on the middle-right side and place Blue Team at the cover by the lion statue in front of you. Take out the first wave, and as soon as the snipers come out use the to regroup to pull out Blue Team. Now take out the snipers and when both of them are down, move everyone into the room. Move all the way to the back of the room to pull everyone into the room or that n00b Chung will try and setup outside the room. When they are all in the room. place Gold Team on the left of the door, and Blue Team on the right and take up position on the back left cover. With the built in right side over the shoulder this will give you a good view. Now you need some luck for this part, because sometimes the guards throw grenades in there and that n00b Chung will run out of cover and die, then everyone will die trying to save his lame ass. Watch the launcher and take out the enemies. Now you cant just sit there. This part has waves and if you don't kill the Rocket Launcher guards, the charging enemies will continuously respawn. When the rockets start flying head to the right side wall, then move to the back until you can see over it enough to shoot the rockets guards in the windows. While you are doing this, make sure you periodically check back on the missile in case someone tries to launch it. Once you have killed both rocket guards, move back to cover and help with the shotgunners. When the next set of rockets come, do the same thing and take them out as well as the sniper that appears with them on the top of the same building they are in. Usually if you just take out the rockets he will walk off the building and die lol. Now move back over to cover and help take out the remaining enemies. now you will get to a point when the remaining guards won't charge but just shoot nonstop. When this happens, pop some smoke outside the door, regroup your team then head out to the left and behind the launcher. Set up the teams on the left and right side cover then creep up and move them to cover to take out the final guys to end the area. Now this was just my strategy, it might not be the best, but it will work.

As the enemies approach you, make use of the tagging feature so your squad kills them faster. Watch out for the snipers and RPGs; take them out right away. Also watch your left flank, as a couple of enemies may attempt to reach the launcher through your section of the area. If this occurs, toss a grenade or two at the enemy. With this method none of my squad members died at all during the checkpoint (nor did they come close to dying). Make sure when you're tagging enemies that you don't tag the ground instead, as this will completely ruin the cover setup and you'll probably have to restart the checkpoint.

Peace Keeper
'Animus' - Complete the Story Campaign by choosing to bring Gorman to justice.

This is a story based mission

This trophy will unlock after you have completed the final mission, Animus. SOCOM 4 has two different ways to end the game and you must do 2 playthroughs on your path to platinum. it doesn't matter which order you do them in, but make sure you kill Gorman on one playthrough for the Executioner trophy and on the other playthrough let him live for this trophy.

Elite Ops Tips

  • Overview: After the Countdown mission this level will seem like a cake walk. There are only a couple of difficult parts on your way to a satisfying platinum trophy.
  • Recommended Weapons: Sniper Rifle and MG
  • At the beginning of the level move your Gold Team and Blue Team to the cover on the left side of the pillar near the road in front of you. Take out the two Rocket Guards on the left or they will cause major problems. Now if you look to the left of the start point you will see a stack of pipes, use these as cover and take out the incoming guards who are distracted by your shooting teams. Remember one head shot is an instant kill with most Sniper Rifles.
  • Once the first wave is clear, switch to the MG and move forward. when you start to get near your teams, look up above the road to the building on the right. A Rocket Guard will appear to try and spoil the day.
  • Leave your teams in place, and move forward until the next set of enemies spawns, then retreat back to your pipes and take this next group out from a safe vantage point.
  • Once the next wave is finished proceed forward to the checkpoint. Make your teams stay in cover in the small checkpoint room, then proceed forward towards the plaza. When you trigger the third wave of enemies, retreat back to the first area, set up your teams, then take out the enemies as they wander into your ambush. This way they can't all charge at once. Once you have killed the chargers, which are usually the shotgunners, proceed forward cautiously taking out the stragglers.
  • At the Plaza, proceed up the ramps cautiously moving your team moving from corner to corner as there are ambushing shotgunners.
  • Head across the skywalks and after the next ramp place your Blue Team at the cover on the right near the wall, and place the Gold Team against the cover closest to the ramp on the left. Head over to the cover in the middle that is attached to a fence and you can shoot through it at the next wave of enemies.
  • Head into the parking garage and on each level, stand at the left pillar to get a good view from the over the shoulder cam, and place the Blue Team on the right pillar and take out the enemy waves. When you think each level is clear, send a team up the ramp first before moving up in case any stragglers want to ambush you.
  • In the final battle, head up the ramp, and move both teams into cover near the wall so they have a clear shot of the skywalk and any attacking enemies. Now take up position behind the pillar at the top of the last ramp on the right side of the ramp. From here, you can peek around the cover and take out the Snipers while they are distracted by your teams. After the snipers are finished use Airstrikes to take out the 5 vehicles below, then hightail it over to the cover that your teams are at and prepare for one final enemy advance across the skywalk. Use your MG and grenades to make easy work of the large group of enemies, then move your teams up to the walls by the Ammo Crate to take out the stragglers that won't go across the skywalk. After this you have a clear path to the train station.

Complete the Story Campaign on Elite Difficulty

Elite difficulty will unlock when you finish the game on any level. After you have completed the game, go to the Campaign Menu and then Story. Then go to Change Difficulty and you can pick what level you want to redeploy from. The game is even kind enough to tell you what highest difficulty you have finished the level on that you want to play. Now that being said, don't approach Elite thinking the game will be easy. The CPU AI is deadly accurate and you will die in a couple shots. In addition to that you must watch out for your team, especially that n00b Chung, because if any of them die it's game over. Proceed through the levels cautiously using the cover to patiently move from checkpoint to checkpoint and you should be fine.

I have included a Elite Ops walkthrough for the levels with trophies above in the story mode. While this does not cover every mission, it will help you on the most difficult missions on Elite. Once you have finished every level on Elite the trophy will unlock.

Covert Ops
As Forty-Five, successfully maintain stealth in a Story Campaign mission

There are 4 Stealth Missions through out the game playing as 45 so you will have plenty of opportunities to earn this trophy. For this trophy you must maintain your stealth for the entire level. Now this means you can still kill enemies, either with your knife or with the Silenced Sniper Rifle. If you perform a Sniper Rifle kill, you must get a headshot kill, otherwise the enemy you shoot will immediately detect you. Once you have killed an enemy, you will sometimes need to hide the body, otherwise another guard my find it and you will have lost stealth for the mission.

Now that you know what you must do, I will tell you that this trophy is really easy. If you are compromised, simply pause the game and restart the checkpoint, or let the enemy kill you and the checkpoint will restart and the game won't count it against you. The only way to actually fail getting this on a stealth mission would be if you are noticed, then managed to elude the enemy until they go back to the non alert status and then finish the level. Once you have maintained stealth for the entire level the trophy will unlock.

Complete a Competitive Multiplayer game

See the Good Game trophy below for tips.

[top]
Good Game
Complete a Competitive Multiplayer game of every gametype

For this trophy head to the Multiplayer Menu from the main menu. Now head to Competitive Multiplayer, which is the first option. Now from here you have some options. You can select Play Now and the game will toss you into a random room. You can pick Game Types and from here is where the best area is to get this trophy. Now from here you can select either Default games at the top which are all Respawns with Regenerative Health *cough*lame*cough*, or if you press the or you can select Classic mode for a true SOCOM experience.

Now the best way to get this is to select Medley Small for the gametype. This will load you into a room with other players very quickly and the game will automatically play the 4 gametypes you need without you having to worry about reselecting a new gametype. This will also load you onto 8v8 small maps which will make the games go by much faster. If you prefer, you can select the maps, then exit the game and reload, BUT You need to be present for the majority of the game for the map to count for your stats. Also, if you don't play in a Small room you will be loaded into a 16v16 large maps room and the games will take longer. Once you have completed your first full map of any gametype while doing this you will receive the N00b trophy.

If you have friends that are playing, you will want to select the Join Friends tab to try and join their room, and obviously if you are playing a Clan game you will select Clan Challenges. The maps you need to play are:
  • Suppression: This is the standard kill everyone gametype. There are two ways to win Suppression on SOCOM. Either kill everyone on the opposing team, OR if the last person on the other team is a :camp: just let him sit by himself in whatever dark, musty corner he is hiding in because in SOCOM if the timer runs out the team with more kills wins.
  • Last Defense: Last Defense is basically Control Points. There will be 3 marked points A,B and C on the screen. Either team must then head to these and hold the once at them to capture the point. After the points are captured you will then have access to capture the final point at either enemy base to win. You can also simply kill everyone on the opposite team for the victory.
  • Uplink: Uplink is SOCOM's version of Capture the Flag. For this you will alternate whose turn it is. One side will be the attackers and one side the defenders. The goal as the attackers as to head to one of the two Laptops, which are the flags. These are represented by a Star icon on the screen. Once you grab one, you must then bring it back your base for the score. To win, as the attackers you must either bring both laptops back to your base, or kill everyone on the opposite team. As defenders, the only way to win is to kill all the attackers.
  • Bomb Squad The last gametype is a newer version of Demolition, It's OK, probably the second best of the gametypes but I prefer a Demolition map to the new one. In this game, you will once again alternate every round between attackers and defenders. The goal as attackers is to either disarm the 3 bomb crates marked A,B and C, or to kill everyone on the opposite team. Now that being said, there is only one bomb technician per team on the attackers. He is the only one who can disarm the bombs! The Bomb Tech is outfitted with Heavy Armor and an AA-12 shotgun. The Bomb Tech rotates through the people on the team, but if you happen to be the Bomb Tech your best bet to make your teammates happy is to hang back and let them thin the enemies out first. Don't go rushing in like Rambo because if you die the round ends. On defense your job is to stop the enemies from disarming all 3 bomb crates. You must kill the attackers, or if you see the Bomb Tech, just kill him and the round ends.

Now the Create Game feature will allow you to create a custom game list of your choosing. The bad part of this is that you can only create Unranked Rooms. Now I have no confirmation on this, but in the previous SOCOM you had to play in Ranked Rooms for trophies. If someone playing in an Unranked Room gets the trophies let me know and I'll update this.

Once you have completed one game of each game type, no matter how well you perform this trophy will unlock.

Over Achiever
Complete a Custom Campaign mission on every map in either Single-player or Co-op

Custom Campaign mission is a new mode to SOCOM that can be played either in Single Player mode from the Campaign screen OR in Co-op mode from the Online Menu. You will need to play at least once on SP and once on MP for the Combined Assault and the Extra Credit trophies. The Custom Campaigns are missions that take place on a portion of one of the 6 maps from the game. You can choose the custom mission and the parameters for the mission. The two Custom Campaign missions are:
  • Takedown: This is my Custom mission of choice. For this mission you must follow the waypoints, taking out camps of enemies to find the Commander(s) of each level and take them out. They will try and run, but don't worry they can't get away.
  • Espionage: For this Custom mission you must make it through the level to find the Intel.

Now I recommend completing the Single Player Missions at least once before you play the co-op mode. The reason behind this is that you will know the general layout of all the levels and know where to place your teams for cover in each area. In addition to that, all the weapons from the Single player will carry over to the Custom Campaign, so you will have a larger selection of upgraded weapons to help you out.

In the Mission Prep screen you can change the difficulty to play all the way down to easy to make these trophies go by quickly and you can even select the size of the enemy hoard you want to battle from a large one to a small one to make this even faster. If you die on Custom there are no checkpoints and you have to start the mission over. For this trophy you will need to play and finish a mission on each of the 6 Custom maps. You can select your map on the Mission Prep Screen by pressing the to edit your mission. The maps are:
  • Rendezvous
  • Leviathan
  • Fluid Dynamics
  • Means to an End
  • Turning Point
  • Countdown

Once you have played and finished a mission on each of the maps the trophy will unlock.

Above and Beyond
Complete a total of 100 objectives during your career

This trophy sounds much more daunting than it actually is from a time standpoint. The objectives are Offline objectives for the Campaign mode and have nothing to do with the Multiplayer game. They will show up at the bottom of the screen such as Destroy Convoy with a small star and when you complete the mission it will say Complete at the bottom before you get a new mission. You will get approximately 5 objectives per level in the main story mission and you have 14 missions to do in the game. You must play through the game twice for the platinum, once for Hard Mode and once for Elite Mode, so it is nothing to stress about. You will most likely unlock this trophy somewhere around the Benefaction level during your second playthrough if you start from the beginning. Sadly they do NOT include the objectives completed in your Career Stats page to keep track of it, but it is about 4 missions into your second playthrough if you don't play the missions in order. Once you hit 100 objectives completed the trophy will unlock.

[top]
Government Spending
Call in a total of 10 airstrikes during your career

On certain levels in the game, you will have the opportunity to call in Airstrikes to destroy enemy vehicles from a safe distance. The Airstrikes are pretty fun, except for on the elite level when you die very quick and then you have to time your lock on to not get shot. When you have the prompt to designate a target, you will press and hold the while pointing your targeting reticule in the area you want the strike to hit until the meter fills all the way up. Now this will destroy all targets in the area including any guards roaming around. You don't need to worry about farming this trophy as you will have these opportunities for airstrikes on your first playthrough:
  • First Strike: 3 Airstrike targets
  • Benefaction: 4 Airstrike targets
  • Animus:5 Airstrike targets

As you can see, you will have 12 just from the targets alone without farming airstrikes to progress through the game. Now you probably will have this trophy long before you finish the game if you started on the Hard difficulty because the Airstrikes are cumulative on all playthroughs in Campaign and save your totals even if you die before a checkpoint. Once you have 10 Airstrikes called the trophy will unlock.

[top]
Death From Above
Eliminate 5 enemies with a single airstrike

There are several opportunities to get this trophy. You will have several Airstrike sections throughout the game starting in level 1. Whenever you receive an airstrike online prompt, press and hold the to designate your target and wait for the fireworks. The best place for this trophy is on the Benefaction level. Now there are two places on the beach you can strike to try and get this. The first is the target set of vehicles on the right side of the main road on the beach. Wait for all the vehicles to park and you will see several soldiers. Airstrike the middle of the vehicles and Ding trophy.

The other place is just to the left of the main road. There will be a small bunker and a covered area for the enemy camp. Use the airstrike near where the two locations meet to destroy both and there is usually enough enemies in them for the trophy as well.

Now for either of these it's best to try it BEFORE the gunfight starts to have a maximum amount of enemies at your disposal.

[top]
Repo Man
Destroy a total of 50 vehicles during your career

This is one of those trophies that if it were a trophy you would most likely get it by accident. It would be very difficult to miss this trophy by the end of your 2 playthroughs. Anytime a vehicle is destroyed for any reason it counts towards this trophy. The enemies like to use the vehicles for cover, so when they do just blow it up to kill two birds with one stone. I also believe that any vehicles your teammates destroy will count towards this trophy as well. You will get most of these when you play the levels with Airstrikes. The vehicle destroys are cumulative when you die as well so if you somehow manage to finish both playthroughs without this trophy, put the game on easy, and load up the Benefaction level, battle to the beach and Airstrike 3 of the 4 sets of vehicles. Don't destroy the last one or you will trigger a checkpoint.. The let the enemies kill you and you will respawn with all your kills and and the vehicles will return. Now simply repeat until the trophy unlocks. Once you get 50 destroyed vehicles the trophy will unlock.

[top]
Grenadier
Eliminate a total of 25 enemies with explosives during your career

For this trophy you must kill a total of 25 enemies with Explosives over all your playthroughs. Now don't be fooled by the name, this isn't just about Grenades. You can earn these kills with Rockets and from the grenade launcher as well. This is one of those trophies you shouldn't even think about, just play the game and you will probably have this around the end of the first playthrough. If you happen to not have it, remember the kills are cumulative so load up any level, kill some enemies with grenades, then die and you will respawn with all your grenades again to get more kills.

[top]
Crowd Control
Eliminate 3 enemies with a single explosive

This one is much easier than it sounds. You must kill three enemies with any explosive. This doesn't have to be a Grenade either, it can be a Rocket Launcher or Grenade Launcher. You will most likely get this just from your normal playthrough as most of the enemies walk around in groups making them easy targets. On the higher difficulty levels, they will scatter quicker making this a little harder but not much. If you are having trouble there is an excellent place to get this trophy early in the game.

On the Rendezvous level, sneak past all the enemies on the road and Stealth Kill the enemy by himself after the house. After that, take cover behind a log and you will see 3 enemies taking pics in front of the crash site. Little do they know what you have planned while they are so happily taking a picture to show their families. Toss a grenade right in the middle of them and DING! easy trophy

[top]
Double Down
Eliminate 2 chickens with a single explosive.

Throughout the game you will see multiple chickens roaming around in many of the levels. There is one place in particular that this excellent for this trophy. In the Means to an End level, at the very start of the level, move through the water and up onto the road in front of you. Take out the guards so you won't be bothered and look on the right side of the road across from the house and you will see 3 chickens in a group who are begging to be grenaded. Hold down the and make sure your grenades are selected and toss a grenade in the middle of them for an easy trophy.

On a side note the Double Down is one of the tastiest sandwiches you can purchase, 2 pieces of Chicken with cheese and bacon in the middle

[top]
Century Slayer
Eliminate a total of 100 enemies during your career

Easy enough, all the kills are cumulative during your offline missions. Just from normal play of the game you will probably get this trophy by the 3rd level at the latest. When you die, all your kills are still recorded so you will earn kills again by replaying the parts you played from the checkpoint to your death. The kills your teams make are also counted towards your kills. As soon as you reach 100 kills the trophy will unlock. If you want to view your kills total, from the Main Menu select Campaign, then select Career Stats.

[top]
Millennial Slayer
Eliminate a total of 1000 enemies during your career

This one sounds tougher than it really is, all the kills are cumulative during your offline missions on all difficulties. On your Elite playthrough you will probably earn this by your 2nd or 3rd mission. I had 943 kills after one playthrough so there is no need to worry about farming this one, When you die, all your kills are still recorded so you will earn kills again by replaying the parts you played from the checkpoint to your death. The kills your teams make are also counted towards your kills. As soon as you reach 1000 kills the trophy will unlock. If you want to view your kills total, from the Main Menu select Campaign, then select Career Stats.

10 Piece Meal
Eliminate a total of 10 chickens during your career.

The first chicken you will find is behind a fence at the very beginning of chapter 2. When I saw this, I thought great, another thing I have to search for, but as it turns out other than that one, the rest are pretty much in plain site. Whenever you see a chicken make sure you blast it. There are several in the Means to an End and Safehouse levels. In addition to there being a large amount of them, their kills are cumulative, so if you don't get the trophy on your first playthrough, just kill some more on the Elite playthrough and by the end you will have your trophy. You can also view your chicken kills in the Career Stats menu from the Campaign page. Once you have killed 10 chickens you will receive your trophy.

[top]
Melon Hunter
Eliminate a total of 100 enemies with a headshot during your career

This trophy will most likely come naturally as you play the game. Any time you get a headshot you will hear a louder "splat" noise when you hit the enemy. Now for this trophy you must kill 3 in a row with head shots. This doesn't mean you cant shoot them in the body first. This only means they must die from the head shot. If you use Sniper Rifles a lot you will probably get this trophy in the early levels, but you don't need to restart checkpoints and go out of your way to get the trophy. Even with Assault Rifles and MGs the natural kick of the gun will have you getting more head shots than you probably intend on getting. When you are playing with these weapons, use the precision aiming with the to get a better zoom before shooting and always aim high to increase your chances of getting a head shot. Like every SOCOM game, the longer you hold down the to fire, the more inaccurate your weapon becomes so it is actually better to tap the button and fire bursts of bullets, especially with the MG to stay more accurate when aiming for the melons of your enemies. These kills are cumulative from all playthroughs and difficulties, so even if you don't get it on your first playthrough you will most likely get it on your second. Once you get 100 headshots the trophy will unlock.

[top]
Hat Trick
Eliminate 3 enemies in a row with headshots

If you haven't received the trophy by the time you get to the Uninvited Guest level, you have to take out 3 snipers in a row with headshots to proceed, so you will get the trophy here. As soon as you get 3 headshot kills in a row the trophy will unlock.

[top]
Unseen Strike
Stealth kill a total of 10 enemies in a single mission

A "stealth kill" happens when you approach an unsuspecting enemy from behind. When you do this you will have an onscreen notification for a stealth kill. When you see this press the and your character will do one of several Stealth kill animations. Melee kills DO NOT count as a stealth kill! You must have performed the stealth kill sequence for it to count. You also must be crouched or standing to perform a stealth kill, you cannot be prone or you will just knife. That being said, these kills like all the others are cumulative so you could just keep killing the same guy and then dieing over and over again until you get the trophy. The easiest place to get this trophy IMO is on the Revelation level you can get this pretty easy as there are several places to perform stealth kills on unsuspecting enemies and there are several that are spread apart. This trophy is definitely easier to get on one of 45's stealth missions since you can keep to the shadows. These are the 10 I killed on the level to get this trophy.
  1. The very first enemy you come to before going down the hill.
  2. Go down the road and turn to the right and follow the wall towards the end. Hide behind a pillar, then use your bullet casing to lure the guard in your path over by the crates and when he turns around kill him.
  3. Go inside the building and turn left and stealth kill the enemy by the intel at the laptop.
  4. After planting the bug on the helicopter and watching the scene where Gorman leaves, stay still and wait for the two guards to pass in front of you. Kill the one in back first.
  5. Now kill the one on front before he gets to the second stairs.
  6. Head up the stairs from this area and stealth kill the guard by Intel #2
  7. Head down the stairs that the guards were heading too and follow the edge of the building until you can turn right. This leads to a side entrance to the same building and there should be a lone guard there.
  8. Now turn around and head up the hill and at the intersection you will see a guard walking up the path in front of you. Turn left and there should be another guard by himself a few feet away, kill him.
  9. Now Stealth Kill the guard you saw walking up the hill.
  10. Now in the final area, start flanking around to the left and there will be a guard in the lit area that is down some stairs by some crates. Take him out and earn your trophy. I was actually seen doing this but it was my 10th kill so I still got the trophy then I just left him alone when it reloaded and continued to finish the level.

Vorpal
Eliminate a total of 25 enemies with melee attacks during your career

Melee attacks take place when you click down on the at any time. If you test it out, you will notice that your character will slash with his/her knife. When you are close to your enemy press the to hit them with melee attacks for a CQC kill. Now this doesn't always kill the enemy and sometimes they will need several stabbings before they succumb to your rage. Stealth Kills DO NOT count towards your Melee Kills total! which makes this trophy a little more difficult, but not extremely. A good tactic is to wait behind cover or a corner, and pop out while shooting them with your SMG in the chest, then knife them so you have already in injured them and they may die with one knifing. Now if you steadily maintain your knife kills you will most likely get this trophy in the beginning of the second playthrough. If not, simply load up a level such as Leviathan, where its not too spread out, put the game on easy, and go to town on them. Like all the rest of the trophies the kills are cumulative even when you die and all playthroughs and difficulties. Once you get to 25 melee kills the trophy will unlock.

[top]
Combat Medic
Execute a total of 25 teammate revives during your career

As you are playing the game in the Campaign mission, your teammates will occasionally get wounded, especially that n00b Chung...I'm not sure how he is Special Forces since he always gets wounded. When this happens, there arrow icon will turn into a skull and a red meter will pop up and slowly start to drain. This is actually important. IF ANY OF YOUR TEAM DIES THE MISSION WILL FAIL. Usually, one of the other teammates will revive your fallen character, but you can also do this yourself. If you crouch above the teammate you will get a prompt to Heal them. When you get this press and hold the until the meter is all the way full for a successful heal. The Revives are cumulative through all your playthroughs no matter the difficulty. you should get this just from normal playing on the game, but if for some reason you don't load up any level and just shoot your teammates until they die then Heal them and continue this until you get your remaining few you need. As soon as you have 25 revives the trophy will unlock.

Expert Tactician
Complete a Story Campaign mission using only your teammates to eliminate enemies

There are only a couple missions in the game that are setup for you to complete this trophy. The easiest one is probably going to be the Leviathan level. You can try to get this during your normal playthroughs, but if you did your first playthrough on Hard it can be a pain. If you didn't get it while playing simply change the difficulty down to easy once you are finished and redeploy onto the level. While you are playing what you must do is not fire your weapon at anything. Use the and the button to target enemies for blue team and gold team to take out. I recommend always posting them at cover in front of you to give yourself a better view of the incoming enemies. You must also not throw any grenades or smoke grenades! I used the smoke grenades on hard while getting past the cannon and didn't get the trophy so these do count against you. When you get on the ship, don't worry about the C4 plants, you can't direct your team to do this and they don't count against you. Once you have completed the level without using your weapons the trophy will unlock.

There is a little bit of lag on the trophy and mine didn't unlock until the next mission briefing was taking place, so if you don't hear the satisfying DING right away don't panic

[top]
Armed to the Teeth
Unlock all weapons for use in Campaign Mode

There are a total of 32 weapons in SOCOM 4. For this trophy you will need to unlock all 32 weapons for use in the CAMPAIGN mode of the game. The Campaign weapons are exactly the same as the Multiplayer weapons, but unlocking the weapons in campaign does NOT unlock the weapons in the Multiplayer. Now that being said, I'm not entirely sure if the MP unlocks the weapons in the Campaign, as the weapon unlocking and weapon progression do not seem to be intertwined from SP to MP I'm going to assume they do not. In the Campaign mode, you will start with one weapon from each category. After that, more weapons will become available as you progress through the game from fully upgrading other weapons, and more importantly from finding the weapons. If you find a weapon you don't have, and a good place to look is on the crates that have multiple guns to choose from near the Ammo Crates, grab it. Now you must complete the level with that gun to unlock the gun in your inventory. The gun will NOT unlock if you simply hold it until you have reached a checkpoint then toss it away.

Now when you look at a gun on the ground it will not tell you what gun it is, but it will show you a picture of the gun on the bottom right of your screen. Hold down on the to pick up the gun, then hold down the and if you look at the top it will show your current weapon and next to it you will see the name of the gun you have. this is an easy way to see if you need the gun but can't remember what it looks like. If you want to view which weapons you need, select Campaign from the Main Menu. Now select Weapon Progression and you can move through the guns. If there is a lock on the bottom right of the gun picture obviously you haven't unlocked it yet. Once all guns are unlocked, the trophy will unlock. Below is a list of all the weapons for quick reference.

I Call Her Vera
Master a weapon in any mode

This can be earned either online OR offline, but your offline weapon progression does NOT carry over to the online mode of the game. To master a weapon all you need to do is Kill Enemies with that weapon selected. Even when you die all of your weapon progression saves even though you are moved back to the checkpoint, so customization is really easy. As you master a weapon, each level of customization adds a new attachment to your weapon, such as Scopes and Suppressors. You can't customize your weapons like in old SOCOMs, in the SP mode, whatever level your weapon is at, will be the mods that are on it.

For this trophy all you need to do is fully customize one of any of your weapons from any class. The best way to do this is STICK WITH THE SAME GUN until you have maxed its levels out. Now you need to do this for each category for the Shiny! trophy so just pick your favorite and play normal and as long as you aren't changing weapons every level you should have this in a few levels or by the end of the game with no problems.

You can't customize your weapons like in old SOCOMs, in the SP mode, whatever level your weapon is at, will be the mods that are on it.

For this trophy you will need to customize ONE weapon from each class of weapons. The best way to do this is STICK WITH THE SAME GUN until you have maxed its levels out. As long as you stick with the same gun in each category while you are trying them out, you should have 4 of the categories maxed out by the end of your first playthrough. The only difficult weapon to max out is the Shotgun, and not because it isn't powerful, just because you have to get so close for it to be effective.

With that in mind, CPT. Hoff has an excellent farming location to make the shotgun grinding easier if you are having difficulties. When you get to the Fluid Dynamics level and cross the bridge to the Dam Control Building, instead of heading up the stairs to go through the front door, head to the right of the stairs to a back entrance that comes up in the downstairs control room behind all the enemies. On the way there press the and buttons in the back hallway to order your teams to wait, or they will get in your way, Chung especially, and sneak up the stairs enough to blast the unsuspecting guard in the head for an easy kill. Now back down the stairs and stay against the left wall in the doorway and wait. As the guards come to the top of the stairs after you, take out as many as you can with your shotgun before they overrun you. At some point you will most likely get overrun and die, but since the progression saves, and the checkpoint is outside the hallway at the stairs you can replay this part and fully customize your shotgun in about 5-10 minutes.

Once you have mastered one weapon in each class the trophy will unlock.

Collect all Intel in the Story Campaign

The Intel pieces for SOCOM are medium sized data pads. There are 3 pieces of Intel on every level of the game. They are a greenish gray color and you can usually find them on top of crates. You don't have to worry about them hiding in the grass or in shrubs, they can be will hidden but always out in the open. When you get close enough to one, say with a few feet a small star icon will appear like a mini waypoint. Once you have collected them if you press the button and look at the bottom left of the screen you will see the 3 pieces of Intel grayed out. Once you collect one it will be colored and will be in the order it appears in the level making it easier to know if one is behind you or in front of you in the level. The Intel carries over to all your playthroughs so you don't have to worry about missing one in your first playthrough. If you grab an intel piece and then die before a checkpoint the game doesn't always keep track of it. Always press the button and check in your menu to see if you need to collect it again . This guide below lists the Intel and Taroccos you must collect in the order they appear in each level. At the bottom of the typed guide are videos in the spoilers if you prefer. Once you have collected all 42 pieces of Intel the trophy will unlock.

Collectibles Guide

First Strike
  • Intel #1: After you destroy the tanks with airstrikes, wait for your teammate to destroy the truck with C4, then proceed down the highway. After you have cleared the next group of enemies, you will come to an outside cafe. This is before you go down the stairs to the final area. The Intel is on one of the tables.
  • Tarocco: After picking up the Intel, you will see two sets of stairs heading down to the next road. Head down the stairs to the left, then look to your left and you will see one shop without a cage pulled over the window. Look inside the destroyed window for the Tarocco.
  • Intel #2: After grabbing the Tarocco, head to the opposite side of the street. On this side of the street look for a small eating area with a bunch of tables. This Intel is on the table with the open umbrella.
  • Intel #3: Head down the road and use the airstrike to destroy the Artillery. Now head over to the left side of the street and head down the road until you are almost even with the Artillery and you will find some more outside tables. The last Intel is waiting for you there.

Rendezvous
  • Intel #1: When securing the area around 45 and Chung, there will be a lonely transport truck in the middle of the road. Next to the truck is an oven with the first Intel on top.
  • Intel #2: After the tutorial on how to control your teams in setting up an ambush, proceed down the hill to a large enemy camp. At the first building on the left side is a crate with a bunch of guns and a supply crate. Next to these is the second Intel.
  • Intel #3: From the second Intel, head down the main road and you will see a pickup truck next to a phone pole on the left side of the road. From this pickup, look in the same direction as the truck is pointing and you will see a large open house on a back road. Head into this house for the last Intel on a table.
  • Tarocco: After destroying the AA gun, head down the path on the right side of the building the AA gun is located towards the water. Head between the two houses and out onto the pier to find the Tarocco on the left side on some crates.

White Tiger
  • Intel #1: The first Intel is located on the main path, in the building where you store your first suppressed kill.
  • Intel #2: Once you get to the Shell Casing tossing tutorial, you will see two guards pacing back and forth in front of a building. You must either distract them or shoot them. If you do shoot them, you need to wait until they aren't in direct line of site to take out the first. You can then wait for the second to come over to by there and shoot him. The Intel is in this building on crate.
  • Tarocco: After climbing the crates to view the ship and get an overview of the area, you will be prompted to head to the right. Jump down and head to the right hugging the fence. Once you get over to the line of trucks, look to your left and you will see a shipping crate and you will see a small crate next to it with the bright orange Tarocco on top. Sneak over and grab it.
  • Intel #3: Once you get to the Control Shack on the other side of the boat, instead of going inside, turn right and head over to the crates and you will find the Final Intel for the level.

Leviathan
  • Intel #1: From the start, head down the hill and through the fence. Look to your right and you will see a building. The Intel is on a crate next to the building.
  • Intel #2: After you move around the left side of the ship, you will come to a large open building. Head through the building and instead of going to the right and up the ramp to the ship, turn left and you will find this Intel on some crates in the corner.
  • Tarocco: AFTER destroying the ship's cannon, head back down the ramp towards Intel #2. Head back through the large building and hug the right wall. You will see two green and white buildings on the right side. Head to the left side of the 2nd green and white building to find the Tarocco on a drum.
  • Intel #3: After destroying BOTH targets on the ship, head down the ramp towards the extraction. At the bottom of the ramp, turn right and move this direction until you come to the supply crate and some guns. The Intel is on one of the crates.

Benefaction
  • Intel #1: After crossing the bridge, follow the main road to the enemies camp. Before heading up the hill look in the 2nd tent to the right of the road to find the Intel on a table.
  • Tarocco: After taking out the opposition at the beach, from the top of the hill, head to the left side down the dirt path to the building up on the hill on the right that overlooks the beach. The Tarocco will be on the railing of the large window.
  • Intel #2: From the Tarocco, head down to the camps below you. In the camp that started with a canopy above it, until after your psychotic airstriking of anything moving on the beach , look on the crates to find the second Intel.
  • Intel #3: From Intel #2, head across the main road to the destroyed vehicles and find another camp that had a canopy, or still does depending on your Rage level. Look on the crates inside for the final Intel.

Fluid Dynamics
  • Intel #1: Head through the main archway into the first area. When the road turns to the right, look on top of the camo crates for first Intel.
  • Intel #2: Once you get into the Dam Control Building, before heading up the stairs, look on top of a crate in front of the small control room in the back for the second Intel.
  • Tarocco: Head up the stairs in the Dam Control after using the Control Panel to open the floodgates. When you exit the Dam Control Building, immediately head to your right and head behind the building to find the Tarocco sitting on a drum.
  • Intel #3: Inside the shutoff Control Room on the main path of the story, you will find the final Intel on the Control panel.

Safehouse
  • Intel #1: Follow the officer to the right to the open area with the guards. Proceed around the outer left side of the camp, until the officer heads down the road. Instead of following him down the road, head across the road to the building. Now turn right and follow the wall of the building until you come to the stairs. Head to the roof to find some weapons, including the SASR, and the first Intel.
  • Intel #2: Follow the main path waypoints to Razad's Car and place the bug. Now instead of heading towards the extraction, head down the road in the opposite direction to the building on the left side. Head up the stairs and head into the small room in the building to find the Intel.
  • Intel #3: Head back to Razads car, and at the back bumper turn left and head across the street and head between the buildings to the back alley. at the very back of the alley look for a refrigerator on its side with the Intel on it.
  • Tarocco: From the last Intel, turn right and head down the road and at the last building on the right before the clearing you will see some stairs. Head up the stairs to find the Tarocco on a small table with a lamp next to another SASR

Means to an End
  • Intel #1: In the exact same room as Intel #2 on the previous level.
  • Intel #2: After destroying the Armored Vehicle, you will have to head through the open wall gate to find Razad. BEFORE heading through the gate, turn to your left and head into the area with Razad's car to find the Intel on a Trash Dumpster.
  • Intel #3: Inside Razad's Palace, head to the 2nd floor and look on the middle workstation on the main path for the Intel.
  • Tarocco: After the encounter with Razad, this will be left on his desk.

Onslaught
  • Intel #1: At the large camp, as you are head down the hill on the road, turn right and you will see a large raised house. Go behind the house to find this hanging on the Pigeon Coop in the back.
  • Intel #2: At the large camp, head towards the bridge and before heading over the bridge, turn right to find the second Intel on a stack of 2x4s.
  • Tarocco: AFTER crossing the collapsing bridge and meeting up with the NATO forces, you will head up some stairs then down a set of stairs towards the docks. As soon as you head down the stairs, look to your right and you will see a crate next to the first house. Climb up on top of the crate, then climb on the roof and grab the Tarocco from the small crate on the roof.
  • Intel #3: At the docks, head down the docks, but stay on the left side. You will pass a building with a ramp that leads up to the roof when the path splits. Continue down the left side until you get to the next set of buildings. Look inside the 2nd doorway to find the Intel on a barrel.

Revelation
  • Intel #1: Head into the First Main Building and turn left. There will be an enemy using a laptop by himself. Stealth Kill him and collect the Intel on the work station.
  • Intel #2: After placing the bug on the Helicopter, head back towards the stairs but instead of going back down, head up the stairs to wear the guards were previously located before the helicopter took off. Once up in the control area, turn right and look for a small crate sitting next to a large crate on the left side for the Intel.
  • Tarocco: Now head back down the stairs to where the helicopter was and head all the way to the end of the upper level. Turn right and head through the opening to what was a room at one point. Look on the desk on right side for the Tarocco.
  • Intel #3: For the final Intel, when you come to the second camp, follow the waypoint path around the camp to the left side until you can get inside the building. Once inside the building look on the left side in a nook and its sitting on a desk.

Turning Point
  • Intel #1: Inside the first building, stay downstairs and head into the back of the building to find the Intel on some crates on the left.
  • Intel #2: When you come to the clearing with the second building, head down the road to find an entrance to the building on the left side. Inside immediately turn right into the small room to find the Intel on a large pile of crates in the center of the room.
  • Intel #3: When you are heading to the 2nd launcher, stay on the right side before you get to the building and you will see a path and some stairs that lead up to another building up on the hill. In this building head to the 2nd story to find the last Intel.
  • Tarocco: This is on a desk in the middle of the room by Intel #3

Uninvited Guest
  • Intel #1: In the first camp, this is located by the Rocket launcher on a camo covered crate. Unfortunately this is also out in the direct light. Wait for the guard by the rockets to move away, then toss a bullet casing to distract the guard who is watching the crates and then grab your Intel and move out quickly.
  • Intel #2: In the camp where you C4 the tanks and shoot the snipers, there is a lonely green tent on the opposite wall. This tent is located directly across from the first tank. That's our destination. BEFORE going to that tent, look to the left of the tank and you will see a very irritating turret. Sneak behind the turret and you can deactivate it. Now before heading over to the tent, move back into the shadows and wait. A soldier will meander over to turn it back on, clever aren't they. Wait for him to get behind the turret, then shoot him in the head and nobody will even notice. Now head around the camp to the tent to collect the Intel from inside.
  • Tarocco: This is on a desk in the room by Intel #2
  • Intel #3: The final Intel is above the garage that holds the final tank. Head up the stairs to the left of the building, then toss a shell casing to distract the two guards up top. Now sneak into the building, quickly grab the Intel and head back down the stairs before they stop checking out the sound.

Countdown
  • Intel #1: At the second set of ruins on the left side, at the base of the statue.
  • Intel #2: At the large enemy camp with the 2 Auto Turrets and the 2 Rocket Turrets, this Intel is on a crate next to the forklift on the right side.
  • Intel #3: In the large building, you will come to a control room with several computers and a large ambush of enemies. The last Intel is on a desk in this room.
  • Tarocco: After leaving the large building, you will come to a very long staircase. At the top turn right and this leads to another staircase on the left. BEFORE heading up these stairs, turn right to find the Tarocco on the open room on the rock wall.

Animus
  • Intel #1: Head down the main road following the main path until you come to a small room with several guns in it. The Intel is in this room. If you come to the ramps leading up, you have gone too far.
  • Intel #2: After picking up the 1st Intel, head up the ramps to the upper area. The second Intel is on a table in this area.
  • Intel #3: The Final intel for the game is located in the parking garage, on the 3rd story on th right said on top of the railing.
  • Tarocco: Head into the train station after Gorman. Once you are all alone controlling 45, head down the hallway to your left towards the waypoint marker. Look to your left to see a blue ATM machine. The Final Tarocco is lodges into the money slot.

The Blood Orange
Find and collect a Tarocco.

A Tarocco is a Blood Orange. These little gems are located throughout the game, usually in very hard to see locations. There is ONE per map that you play. The Tarocc looks exactly like this picture. It is a half an orange. Now the good part is that they are very bright and can be seen from very far away even on the night maps you play as 45. This trophy will unlock with the first Tarocco you find in the game on any level. If you have collected a Tarocco then die before you reach the next checkpoint you will need to collect it again before moving on.

For a Complete Tarocco walkthrough please view the Information Warfare trophy above.

Destroy Razad's Car
Destroy Razad's Car

Razad's car is a black 4 door sedan. It has the appearance of a high line car, but in all honestly I think its just a Ford. You will find Razad's car on the Means to an End level. After you have destroyed the Armored Vehicle and eliminated the troops in the area, head towards the front gates of Razad's Palace. Before going inside turn to your left and parked in the shade, to keep it cool, in the small nook is his ride. Toss a grenade underneath it, or just shoot it and once it blows up the trophy is yours.

Destroy Gorman's Car
Destroy Gorman's Car

Gorman's car is exactly the same as Razad's car, a black 4 door sedan. The car is located on the final level of the game Animus. When you get to the train station after using the airstrike to destroy all the vehicles, check in the parking lot on the left side of the main building to find Gorman's car. Destroy it however you like for an easy trophy.

The Elite 45th
As Forty-Five, stealth kill a total of 45 enemies in the Story Campaign

A "stealth kill" happens when you approach an unsuspecting enemy from behind. When you do this you will have an onscreen notification for a stealth kill. When you see this press the and your character will do one of several Stealth kill animations. Melee kills DO NOT count as a stealth kill! You must have performed the stealth kill sequence for it to count. You also must be crouched or standing to perform a stealth kill, you cannot be prone or you will just knife.

Only your stealth kills with 45 will count towards this trophy! These kills like all the others are cumulative so you could just keep killing the same guy and then dieing over and over again until you get the trophy. You will most likely get this trophy by the end of the last stealth mission. There are 4 stealth missions so even if you don't you will only need minimal farming to finish the trophy off. The easiest place to farm the Stealth Kills for this trophy IMO is on the Revelation level. It's very easy to get 10+ stealth kills per round playing this level. Unfortunately there is no way to track your stealth kills with 45 as the stats don't break down per character, so you will just need to keep replaying the level until it unlocks. Once you have 45 stealth kills with 45 the trophy will unlock.
