[top]Tips & Strategies

  • Utilize the Dropship: From the Main Menu, you can select the "Dropship" menu. This is a very comprehensive statistics tracker that will allow you to check your progress on trophies, Badges, Feats and rankings, as well as allow you to customize your Loadouts and view Leaderboards. Check this often.
  • Make things easier: If you're having trouble accomplishing a specific task, try it in Instant Action with bots! Unless a trophy specifically says it must be accomplished in ranked matches, it can be done in Instant Action.
  • Make things even easier: If you're having trouble accomplishing a specific task, try it in an unranked Private Match with a friend! Unless a trophy specifically says it must be accomplished in ranked matches, you'll be able to boost it with a buddy. Additionally, you can boost those that need to be done in ranked matches-just find an empty, non-bot server by using the custom search option, and make sure to bring three friends with you so ranked stats are enabled.
  • Choose the difficulty best for you: Remember, all Instant Action and Campaign trophies that don't specifically list a difficulty can be done on any. If you're feeling up to the challenge, go with Hard or Insane. But if you're having a bad day, Easy or Trivial is up to you. Be sure also to fiddle with the number of bots and map variants to optimize your particular session for the best chances of success.

[top]Roadmap

Step 1: Campaign

The first step is to run through Section 8's campaign and acquaint yourself with gameplay - this is, after all, basically a glorified tutorial that introduces you to game mechanics and the maps. You can do your first playthrough on Hard if you wish as it isn't that difficult, or you can put that off until a second playthrough.

Step 2: Multiplayer

Next you'll take online head-on. You'll want to be focusing on points and ranking up while at the same time making sure to keep an eye out for badge, feat and trophy opportunities. Look for bunched up players, for instance, or a series of unguarded CPs. Not only will taking advantage of these possibly earn you trophies; you'll also aid your advancement through the ranks. If you absolutely cannot manage a specific badge or trophy in-game, you can boost with a friend.

Step 3: Instant Action

Now you'll want to take on the Instant Action. You'll be playing a lot of Swarm, Super Swarm and One Man Army games here, so you'll need to adapt to being on your own fairly quickly. Once you've cleared all the Instant Action-specific trophies, you can also take it as an opportunity to acquire any other trophies you may be missing requirements for, like the weapon kill ones.

[top]Trophies

[top]
Corona Obsidionalis
Earn all available trophies for Section 8

You know the drill, people. Unlock all other trophies in the game to earn this. And yes, it's actually that boring-looking.

The Grass Crown or Blockade Crown (Latin: corona obsidionalis or corona graminea) was the highest and rarest of all military decorations in the Roman Republic and early Roman empire. It was presented only to a general or commander who broke the blockade around a beleaguered Roman army, thus saving a legion or the entire army. It was presented to the general by the army he had saved.

[top]
With All Due Haste
Capture the Missile Silo on "Nuclear Dawn" in under 8 minutes on hard difficulty

This is in the third mission of the campaign. Halfway through, Corde will be tasked with hacking terminals to bring the enemy's AA guns online against them. Once this is done, you'll be asked to clear the area of enemies. Sergeant Blackburn will then request Tank support; designate the drop zone for the tank before immediately going into Overdrive and heading for the silo - the clock is now ticking.

Enter in the side door on the facility's left side as you approach. Take a right to face the CP and eliminate the guard. Start the hacking procedure, and once you've captured the point proper the trophy will unlock, provided you've done it in eight minutes. Shouldn't be a challenge.

This must be done on hard difficulty. If you don't get it on your first try, you can choose this mission from the mission select, provided you've completed the prior missions on hard.

[top]
Lightning Assault
Capture the Munitions Facility in Blackstone Marsh within 4 minutes of hacking the Heavy

This is in the seventh mission of the campaign. After neutralizing the enemies at the railyard, Mother will direct you to some Assault Rigs she wishes you to hack. Do so, and then without getting inside the Heavy, immediately engage Overdrive and run to the left side of the map. Eliminate any enemies in your way. Start the hacking procedure for the Munitions Facility, and once you've captured the point proper the trophy will unlock, provided you've done it in four minutes.

This can be done on any difficulty, so I suggest easy. If you don't get it on your first try, you can choose this mission from the mission select.

[top]
Mission Accomplished
Complete the campaign on any difficulty

Complete "Corde's Story". This will unlock when the credits begin rolling. Refer to Over Achiever for more information.

[top]
Over Achiever
Complete the campaign on hard difficulty

Complete "Corde's Story" on hard. This will unlock when the credits begin rolling.
Hard isn't that difficult at all - your squadmates are actually pretty decent, and there's no limit to the number of times you can die and burn in again. Remember that in most engagements, you can just run past the enemies in question and secure the objective. You can push through in an hour or two.

[top]
To the Delphi Main
Complete the first half of the campaign on any difficulty

There are eight missions in the campaign, so you'll need to complete four of them. This will unlock after you complete Operation: Liberation, and begin viewing the introductory cutscene for Operation: Spearhead.

[top]
First Drop
Complete the first mission of the campaign on any difficulty

One of the easiest trophies in the game, even on hard difficulty. This is basically a tutorial and introduction to gameplay. This trophy will unlock during the introductory cinematic for the next mission.

[top]
You're Doing It Right
Finish in first place on the winning team in a ranked match

Not that difficult if you start the game, and don't just enter partway through. I suggest you pick one or two locations and just stay there; moving around too much will hurt your chances of encountering enemies and CP points.

The fastest ways to earn points are by making kills and participating in DCMs, so don't be shy.

[top]
Badge Expert
Earn each badge in ranked matches

You must earn all thirty-two different badges in ranked matches. There are eight you can earn in each of the four categories. You only need earn each one once:

Badges:

Combat:
  • Specialist: Kill 8 players with equipment. This one can be a bit tricky. I suggest using detpacks and grenades for maximum effectives - both can be deployed ahead of time and used to kill enemies from a distance. The best areas to place these are right around CPs or by an objective you must protect or defend as part of a DCM.
  • Point Offense: Get 8 Attacks. This is one of the harder ones - you get attacks by killing enemy players by one of their own CPs. Instead of the usual five points award for a kill, you'll be awarded seven for "Offense". Try to get the drop on an enemy that's puppy-guarding a CP, or laying detpacks around a CP you've just hacked, and wait for enemies to come to defuse it. Simply get eight before the end of the match to earn this badge.
  • Armor Combat: Kill 8 players with the Heavy Armor. Not too difficult if you're practiced and know how to handle this beast. I suggest guarding an objective that you know the enemy will attack, and make sure to have a few Supply Depots nearby to repair you between fighting. Don't engage an enemy until they enter mid-range, at which point you should engage your miniguns. Any farther and your shots will either go wide or attack their shield and not their health. Just rack up eight kills inside the Assault Rig to earn this badge. You can use multiple rigs, as long as this is completed in one match.
  • Infantry Combat: Kill 20 players. Now, while this is called Infantry Combat, all of your kills will count toward this, so you'll likely unlock it while going for Armor Combat, Tank Combat or Marksman. You'll also earn a lot of kills while defending objectives, so be sure to participate in DCMs. Not too difficult.
  • Anti-Vehicular Combat: Destroy 3 vehicles. This can be tricky. The problem is, it's a rare occasion when the enemy acquires more than two vehicles per game. However, convoys do count toward this, so you should always participate in those. Remember your most effective weapons are the rocket turret and the missile launcher (as well as detpacks if you're in a pinch). Steadily wear them down and take them out, or if you're working in a team, time it right to make sure yours is the last shot to count. Convoys, Assault Rigs and Tanks all count toward this.
  • Retaliation: Get 4 Avenges. Not all that tricky. Just look for firefights between your teammates and the enemy - whenever the enemy kills one of your friends, immediately engage them. You can probably score the kill fairly easily as your friend should have already weakened him. Use your most effective weaponry as the window of opportunity to earn this is small. You'll most likely earn this while going for the Squad Tactics badge.
  • Tank Combat: Kill 8 players with a Tank. This is a breeze once you actually get a tank. The two most effective weapons are the cannon and the mortars, so make good use of those. You'll rack up eight kills in no time, especially if you're in an area that enemies frequent. Remember that if you don't do anything for a while and they don't have a sensor in the area, you'll fade from enemies' minimaps, so use this to surprise them.
  • Marksman: Kill 15 players with non-vehicle Weapons. Easier than it sounds, but you still probably won't get this without trying for it. Deployables do count for this, so make good use of them. As for weapons, choose a kit that works best for you, and be sure to optimize your passive modules to benefit the kind of strategies you're going for. I suggest the machine gun and shotgun (or the assault rifle if it's a larger map). Try to steal weakened enemies from teammates for easy kills.

Conquest:
  • Objective Support: Assist in the capture of 4 Control Points. To earn a capture assist you must be within range (approximately 50 meters) of an enemy CP, and be present while the last third or so of its capture bar fills. Simply find a good spot on the map, and whenever you see an enemy CP start to flash blue, run there and support your teammates in any way possible. You might even let the enemy take a few of your team's CPs in order to give you more opportunities for this.
  • Conquer: Capture 4 Control Points. You need to completely capture 4 CPs. Once you've hacked one, you don't actually need to be present for it to finish capturing, although I suggest you stay and defend it. Remember that the more CPs of yours the enemy takes, the more chance you have to earn a capture.
  • Enduring Service: Complete a game(must have been in 30% of the game). You can't not get this badge unless every single game you join is almost over. Which won't happen, because you can just stay for the next match. You just need to be there; you don't even have to earn points. Just complete a match. You won't see this one unlock; it will just appear in your Awards section of the Dropship.
  • Distinguished Service: Finish at least 3rd place in a game with 12 or more players. This is slightly misleading. You don't need to finish third out of everyone; only third on your team. Just go for the trickier badges and take part in DCMs to earn major points and this will unlock eventually.
  • Guardian: Protect friendly Control points with 8 Defenses or Denials. There's not much difference between these. Kill an enemy that's nearby your CP to earn s defense; kill an enemy that's already begun hacking your CP to earn a denial. Again, puppy-guarding your CPs and utilizing tools like detpacks and grenades will help you go far. Turret kills will not count for this.
  • Sapper: Hack 8 Control Points. This is ridiculously easy. You don't have to actually capture any CPs, just hack them. I suggest hacking a heavily guarded enemy CP, hiding, waiting for them to defuse it, and then repeat the process. You can also run back and forth between two enemy CPs, hacking each one when you arrive. This will contribute to their confusion; however, you are much more likely to get caught and killed.
  • Honorable Service: Finish a game with the highest teamwork score of your team. Sometime when earning points, some of them will also count toward a Teamwork Score. You earn those kind of points by assisting allies, participating in DCMs and hacking, capturing and defusing CPs. Just concentrate on those aspects of gameplay and you'll have a phenomenal Teamwork Score.
  • Battlefield Victory: Win a game with your team (must be in 30% of the game). Another fairly easy one. Again, you'll just want to contribute as much to victory as possible - focus on DCMs and CPs. You can't join a match on the winning team right as it ends; nor can you switch teams right as the game ends. You must be on and stick with the winning team for at least a third of the game. Will come eventually.

Mission:
  • Ordinance Disposal: Defuse the bomb in a DCM. This will require precise timing, as you'll only have thirty seconds to act after the enemy places the bomb. Immediately kill the enemies escorting/guarding the bomb (perhaps plant detpacks ahead of time), and then hold to defuse it. The counter won't stop while you're attempting this, so if the clock has less than ten seconds left, don't bother trying.
  • Demolition: Successfully plant and detonate the bomb in a DCM. Even if you're not the one to initially pick up the bomb, follow your teammates anyway. One of them might die and give you the opportunity to place the bomb yourself. Once it's planted, you'll need to defend it for thirty seconds until it explodes. Detpacks are always handy for defense, as are turrets if you can avoid enemy AA. You really only need to watch over it for twenty, as the enemy won't have time to defuse it if it drops below ten seconds.
  • Special Ops: Kill the commando in a DCM. The easiest and quickest way to do this is to dropkill the enemy commando - but the game never lets you do things the easy way. So you'll need to work as a team to take this guy down, and hope that yours is the shot that kills him. Machine guns and assault rifles are always great antipersonnel weapons, as are minigun turrets. Remember that if you fail to kill him before the objective is completed or time runs out, that you are no longer eligible for this badge, even if you do kill him after. It must be done during the DCM.
  • Interception: Destroy the convoy in a DCM. Not that difficult if you've got support. The missile launcher is a great tool, as are detpacks and vehicles. But if you can afford vehicles, you can afford a rocket turret or two. They will tear the convoy to pieces in minutes, assuming you can box it in well enough. If you're working with teammates, make sure yours is the shot that destroys it.
  • Espionage: Capture the intelligence in a DCM. Even if you're not the one to initially pick up the intel, follow your teammates anyway. One of them might die and give you the opportunity to capture it yourself. Remember that you can't enter Overdrive while carrying, but that game gives you plenty of time to make it back to base, so don't use the jetpack - save it for ambushes and maneuvering. Once you're back in your base, you're home free, as there's no defend time. Just get it there.
  • Counter-Espionage: Retrieve the intelligence in a DCM. Not too difficult - you just need to return the intel to your base when an enemy drops it, and this can be attempted multiple times over the course of a single DCM. Allot at least ten seconds to hunker down and recover the intel as it takes a while, and be prepared to kill enemies that come close as they can interrupt you and pick it back up at any time.
  • Outpost Raze: Destroy the outpost in a DCM. Again, not a tricky one - missile launchers are very handy. Before the outpost arrives, call down some rocket turrets as they won't be able to land once the outpost's AA gun is up and running. additionally, try setting some detpacks on the ground where it's supposed to land as it will set them off on impact. Buy a tank if you can afford it - it's cannon will easily wear down the outpost's health. If working with teammates, make sure yours is the shot that destroys it.
  • Assassination: Kill the VIP in a DCM. The easiest and quickest way to do this is to dropkill the enemy VIP - but the game never lets you do things the easy way.

Tactics:
  • Intelligence Network: Deploy 4 Sensor Arrays. This is laughably easy. You don't have to deploy them all at once, so don't worry if they get destroyed in between. Simply call down four Sensor Arrays during a match.
  • Clear Skies: Destroy 4 Anti-Air Turrets. This isn't too hard. Every time you see an enemy AA turret destroy it, whether it's deployable or base-mounted. Both types count for this. The missile launcher and detpacks are effective against turrets, as is the tank.
  • Shroud: Destroy 4 Sensor Arrays. The most difficult part of this one is actually finding four to destroy. Any time you enter an enemy base, destroy the Sensor Array first. It will count toward this, and prevent the enemy from knowing your location. Deployable Sensor Arrays will also count, but you'll only find those rarely. Simply wait for the ones you destroyed to be repaired before blowing them up again.
  • Circumvent Defenses: Destroy 8 Minigun or Rocket Turrets. This one's a bit of doozy, and may require your full attention for a round. Hunt down any deployable miniguns or rocket turrets and dispatch them immediately. Go for base ones, too, as they'll repair and offer you more opportunities. The missile launcher and detpacks are effective against turrets, as is the tank.
  • Medic: Get 16 Repairs. You won't get this just by playing naturally, but this is fairly easy. You just need to earn sixteen repair points in a match. I suggest using the tool on convoys and outposts as much as you can, as they'll need a lot of it. Tanks are good to repair, too, as well as near-death teammates. Anything that has enough missing health to offer you at least two repair points is good.
  • Squad Tactics: Get 8 Kill Assists with your squadmates. This is one of the hardest badges in the game, despite the misleading badge text. Assists from your general teammates count for this; they don't have to exclusively come from squadmates. What makes it hard is the amount of damage you have to deal to an enemy to qualify is vague, and the enemy must be killed quickly or you lose the assist. Make sure to drain them of at least three-quarter health any time a teammate is nearby before ceasing your fire. This will usually guarantee the assist. Don't worry too much about keeping track; the game doesn't always display your assists anyways. Be prepared to spend the majority of a match on this badge.
  • Supplier: Deploy 4 Supply Depots. Very, very simple. It's wise to call these down in groups of two or three anyway as they repair each other, so this won't be difficult. I suggest refraining from calling down the fourth until you need it. An opportunity will present itself; you don't have to waste it just for the badge's sake.
  • Security Automation: Kill 5 players with Minigun or Rocket Turrets. Another somewhat tricky one. The best method is to cluster a few turrets with a few Supply Depots near one of your own CPs. The Depots will constantly heal and repair everything (including each other) and keep the turret alive, which will promptly mow down anyone who tries to hack the CP. Be ready to replace them, however, if a knowing enemy turns detpacks or mortars on the group.

Feat Expert
Earn each feat in ranked matches

You must earn all sixteen different feats in ranked matches. There are four you can earn in each of the four categories. You only need earn each one once:

Feats

Assault:
  • Assault Killer: Kill 2 players with an Assault Rifle or Grenade. This is simple - kill two players with either the Assault Rifle or Grenades. Does not have to be done in one life.
  • Assister: Get 2 Kill Assists. Another one you'll earn fairly early on. You'll get a lot of kills taken from you over time, and whenever you're in an intense firefight with an enemy and die, count on an assist in the near future when a teammate kills him. Does not have to be done in one life.
  • Armor Destroyer: Destroy 1 Heavy Armor. The most adaptable of loadouts always come equipped with missile launchers. Whenever you see an enemy Assault Rig, do not engage it alone unless it's severely weakened. When its shields are down, the missile launcher will do damage equal to one quarter of its health. If you're with squadmates, hold your fire until its health dips into that last bit before squeezing off the shot.
  • Impact Killer: Kill 1 player by either crushing or colliding with them while in medium armor. This is one of the trickier feats to accomplish. You can either dropkill them when spawning, or kill them by collision in Overdrive. I suggest the latter - you'll need to find an enemy with less than one-third health and no shields, which will be tricky. Refer to Plow the Road for information that might help you further.

Recon:
  • Recon Killer: Kill 2 players with a Sniper Rifle, Pistol or knife. This is easy enough. If you're looking for quick kills, use the pistol at close range. If you're feeling more sophisticated, take some pot shots at weakened enemy players. Does not have to be done in one life.
  • Scanner: Scan 8 enemy targets. One of the easiest feats in the game. Whenever you spot an enemy or deployable that your team has not yet seen in that target's current life, a flashing white eye symbol will appear next to their name, and a red one will appear in the top right corner of your screen. You basically have to look at eight people that haven't yet been seen. Does not have to be done in one life.
  • Stealth: Have Sensor Blocker active within range of an enemy sensor for 20 seconds. Sensor Blocker is one an equipment you can carry. Simply activate in near an enemy Sensor Array or Micro Sensor for 20 seconds (aka, one or two uses).
  • Micro Sensor: Have Micro Sensor active within 100m of a non-friendly Control Point for 60 seconds. Micro Sensor is another equipment you can use. When near an enemy CP, fire one off (remember that holding lets you see the trajectory) and let it sit. I suggest the ceiling right above the CP, or on the ground tucked away. Remember that using Micro Sensor while you already have a Sensor deployed will destroy the deployed Sensor. Does not have to be done in one life.

Siege:
  • Siege Killer: Kill 2 players with a Shotgun, Rocket Launcher, or Mortar. You'll get this pretty easily - the shotgun is a great weapon for close range cleaning, and the mortar equipment deals massive damage to a small group of enemies, possibly killing a few in one go. I suggest using those two, as the missile launcher sucks on infantry. Save it for turrets. Does not have to be done in one life.
  • Base Destroyer: Destroy 2 Sensor Arrays, Supply Depots or AA Turrets. Easy enough. I suggest the missile launcher for this, although a few detpacks will also take down one of these easily. Remember that these must be CP-based, and can't be enemy deployables. Does not have to be done in one life.
  • Turret Destroyer: Destroy 2 Minigun or Rocket Turrets. Again, missile launcher or detpacks, it's up to you. These can be either CP-based or enemy deployables, it doesn't matter. Remember to stay on the move; if you're stationary these will tear you to shreds. Does not have to be done in one life.
  • Hacker: Hack 2 Control Points. This will come over the course of playing. You simply need to hack two CPs; you don't even have to capture them. Note that defusing CPs will not count for this. Does not have to be done in one life.

Support:
  • Support Killer: Kill 2 players with a Machine Gun or Detpack. Simple enough. Laying detpacks a friendly CP is a good way to earn this quickly, as well as clearing out any enemies that may have hacked it. The machine gun is also a very powerful weapon at close to mid-range, and has a large capacity. Does not have to be done in one life.
  • Repairer: Get 3 Repairs. If you earn two repair points, the third will instead become the Repairer feat. If you have passive modules geared toward repairing, all this will take is a full usage of your repair bar. Note that Auto Repair points earned from one of your Supply Depots will not count toward this.
  • Tank Destroyer: Destroy 1 Tank. This can be tricky. Missile launchers will do one-eighth full damage to a Tank when its shields are drained, so you can wait until its health is low and steal the kill. If you're having some difficulty or you're cornered alone, call in some rocket turrets for backup.
  • Defuser: Defuse 1 hack. One of the easiest feats. Just rush in and defuse an enemy hack on one of your CPs. If you've placed detpacks, they're a great way to clear out stragglers before you move in for the defuse. Note that hacking an enemy CP will not count for this.

You'll also want to note that earning a feat in a specific category (Assault, Recon, Siege, Support) will net your team DCM points in that category. So if you're looking to complete a specific DCM, press on the D-Pad and view what kind of requirements it needs. Then you can complete corresponding feats and the DCMs will be selected accordingly.

Top Brass
Reach level 50 in ranked matches

You'll need approximately 14,500 experience to reach rank fifty. This trophy will unlock when you earn the correct amount of XP and rank up, not at the end of the match.

To maximize experience:

  • Make kills: Don't let an enemy by you unless you're severely wounded. Catching them by surprise will allow you to do a nice chunk of damage before they catch on. For deadly combos, use lock-on and your jetpack together, and they'll stand no chance.
  • Watch your CPs: In the lull between DCMs, you'll want to capture CPs from the enemy, or defend your own from the enemy. Defending is easier, but attacking can earn you more points. Either way, all of your kills will net you seven experience instead of five, and you'll be involved in larger firefights than usual.
  • Participate in DCMs: Whether it's your own objective or you're thwarting the enemy, you'll want to take part in one of these every time they come along. Even if you fail and the enemy wins, you can still receive full score if you contributed a lot.
  • Go for badges and feats: Even if you've already earned one before, badges and feats earn you a serious amount of bonus experience. Don't attempt the ones that will take you all match, as they're not worth it, but if you see an opportunity, take it. For example, to earn the Defuser feat you simply need to defuse a CP the enemy is attempting to hack away from you, and that's something you should be doing to help your team anyway.

If you're playing well, you can earn anywhere from 200 to 400 experience a match. You should hit rank fifty after approximately fifteen hours of multiplayer - twenty if you had a slow start.

[top]
Rising Star
Reach level 25 in ranked matches

You'll need approximately 3400 experience to reach rank twenty-five. This trophy will unlock when you earn the correct amount of XP and rank up, not at the end of the match. Refer to Top Brass for more information.

Ding!

Instant Gratification
Win an instant action game

Simply win an Instant Action game. Any game type, any difficulty, any map.
Can be stacked with Immortal Sovereign and Army of One trophies.

Plays Well with Others
Win a ranked match

Very simple. Again, you'll just want to play the game, making sure to take part in all the DCMs your team activates. Sometime you'll just get really dumb teammates, but this will unlock for you at some point.

[top]
Boom Goes the Dynamite
Kill 3 players at once with explosions

This is a very tricky trophy to obtain. You're going to need three people clustered together, and you're going to need to hit them all with a blast powerful enough to kill instantly - this isn't easy to do in Section 8.

When editing your lodaout, use det packs in one of your equipment slots. Now go to one of your CPs that you can easily survey from afar, and attach all five det packs to the console surface and the ground around it. You can either watch the CP from a distance and detonate when you see three enemies hacking or defusing; or you can watch and pull the trigger when Mother alerts you that the CP's been hacked by an enemy.

You can also attempt this when hacking an enemy CP - lay the detpacks around the ground as booby traps before hacking the CP. Very rarely, however, will you find three enemies coming to defuse a CP at once, but you might get lucky.

Either way, you'd do well to attempt this in Instant Action in a Super Swarm with sixteen players. There will be so many enemies that they'll assault your hack in droves, allowing you to nab four or even five at once if you lay your mines well.

[top]
Bane of the Immobile
Destroy 30 turrets

This will come over the course of the game, especially when you're going for specific Feats and Badges. Just take the time to destroy any enemy turrets you come across. Both base and deployable turrets count toward this trophy.

[top]
Blades 'n 'Nades
Kill 5 players in a row with only Grenades and Knives in a ranked match

While this does have to be in a row, it doesn't have to be all in one life. In fact, I died three times when I got this.

You'll need to have both grenades and a knife as your equipment, and I suggest fiddling with your passive modules to give you speed and stealth. You'll need it.

When you spawn, find a place near an enemy. You're going to want to airbrake pretty high up so that they don't hear you coming. Assuming your target has full health, you'll need two hits with your knife to kill them, so it's best to attack from behind. Continue to sneak up on players and knife them until you die (at which point, repeat) or you're see. If you're seen, quickly switch to your Grenades with and lob all three of them at the enemy - you'll need them all to bring him down.

Even if it takes you the whole match and many deaths, you'll get this. Just don't fire any of your guns - stick to the grenades and knife. I got this on Azure Basin - some guy kept hiding in the cliffs with his Sniper Rifle, and I'd land behind him and knife him before his buddy killed me. Did that four or five times before I used my grenades on one of his teammate and ding! trophy unlocked.

[top]
Blood Lust
Kill 100 players in ranked matches

This will definitely come to you over time. Bots do count for this, provided they're in a ranked server and the minimum of four [human] players has been met.

If you're looking specifically to get kills, I suggest camping near a cluster of Sensor Arrays and Supply Depots. They'll keep you constantly update, repaired and supplied, and if you're near an objective, a constant stream of enemies will come to take a stab at you. You'll rack up kills pretty quickly.

[top]
Test Drive
Get a kill with every vehicle weapon

There are six weapons you need to make kills with in order for this to unlock. Remember to change seats with or when in the Tank.

The weapons are as follows:

Assault Rig (Heavy Armor):
  • Minigun
  • Melee

Heavy Tank:
  • Cannon
  • Minigun
  • Rockets
  • Mortar

[top]
Excessive Celebration
Perform a fatality with the Heavy Armor

When inside the Heavy Armor you can press to melee. it's unclear to me at this point exactly what triggers a fatality versus a normal melee kill, but you'll perform a fatality about 75% of the time, so if at first you don't succeed - try, try again.

[top]
Steamroll
Kill a player by crushing them with a Tank

Read the description carefully. The tank doesn't have enough speed to run someone over, so you'll have to trap an enemy on your bumper and ram them into something like a wall. Remember the tank handles like a rhino, so try and have your hard place lined up with your enemy ahead of time.

This Is My Rifle
Kill 30 players with an Assault Rifle

NOTE: This trophy may glitch on you and unlock before you've received thirty kills.

You'll need to kill an aggregate total of 30 players with the Assault Rifle. This tracks across all game modes - ranked, unranked, Instant Action and campaign. This will come with time if you regularly use this weapon.

Destroy 30 vehicles

NOTE: This trophy may glitch on you and unlock before you've destroyed thirty vehicles.

You'll need to destroy an aggregate total of 30 vehicles. This tracks across all game modes - ranked, unranked, Instant Action and campaign. This will come with time, especially if you're an active participant during DCMs.

Note that convoys, Assault Rigs and Tanks all contribute to this total.

[top]
Improvised Orbital Cannon
Kill an enemy player by dropping a deployable on them

This is excruciatingly difficult, and may be one of the hardest trophies in the game to do legitimately.

The problem is, the enemy can see your beacons, and will stay away from them most of the time. Your best bet is two wait for a very intense, multi-person firefight, and start calling down Supply Depots and Sensor Arrays en masse. Hopefully someone will be stupid or oblivious enough to run underneath one the second before it touches down.

[top]
Silent but Deadly
Deploy a sensor array within 50m of an enemy CP

This isn't that hard if you know what you're doing. If you straight-up call a deployable down, chances are it'll get stopped by enemy AA. You'll need to locate any anti-aircraft turrets they have in the vicinity and destroy them.

Then you can call in your Sensor Array. I suggest using the jetpack to land on the roof above the enemy CP and request the deployable there. Easy enough.

[top]
Drop It Like It's Hot
Kill someone by dropping on them

This is extraordinarily difficult to do. You're not trying to hit a turret here, you're trying to hit a moving target while going at such a great speed that you can barely maneuver.

Free spawn wherever you see enemies - it might be best to drop into the middle of a firefight as you'll have a good chance of hitting someone that's already damaged; or a stationary target on the edge of the map that looks like he might be sniping. You'll want to hit the airbrake the second you get into the orange - you don't need a terribly high velocity to make the kill, and you'll need the extra maneuverability.

Now, the next five to seven seconds are all you. Keep that little dot dead-center as it grows into a full-fledged man on your screen. If you're successful, you'll earn the Impact Killer feat, and this trophy a few second later.

[top]
Goal Oriented
Participate in all DCMs in the game successfully

Dynamic Combat Missions (DCMs) are side mission that can be activated during the course of a match. You don't have to complete them all in a single match, but they must all be initiated by your team - in other words, successfully preventing or stopping an enemy DCM will not count as a successful one on your end, although you will get points for it.
  • Outpost: The second this is initiated, charge to the beacon and activate it if no one has already done so. Lay down some deployables nearby - you'll want to cluster at least two Supply Depots near the Outpost itself, with a rocket and a minigun turret near the Depots. The Depots will repair everything else as well as themselves, making the Outpost and turrets invincible against everything but an all-out assault from the enemy. Stand guard with a Missile Launcher in case anyone charges in with an Assault Rig or Tank, as your rocket turret can use the help.
  • VIP: Teamwork is crucial here. You'll need everyone working together or the enemy will kill your VIP. Make sure some of your teammates are equipped with repair tools in case the VIP gets injured, and have several teammates with assault rifles and machine guns to take on enemies. If someone charges the VIP with an Assault Rig or Tank, no worries. The VIP will keep going until he dies, and you all have Missile Launchers, right?
  • Intelligence: You can't go into Overdrive while carrying the Intel, so this is another one where teamwork is key. Since you can't travel quickly, Assault Rigs will be able to keep up with you. This means that anyone on your team who can afford one should get one, and anyone who can't needs to be on standby with missiles and automatics. And someone should always be ready to pick up the Intel should you die.
  • Bombing: the same as Intelligence, except instead of taking something to your base, you're dropping it off at the enemy's. Assuming the enemy still has the target CP in their possession, you'll want to use the same strategies as an Intelligence mission, and once you've armed the bomb, set up a defensive perimeter for thirty seconds until it detonates.

If you want to do it the cheapo way, have one of your teammates hack and capture the target CP, so you don't have to worry about someone disarming the bomb.
  • Convoy: My least favorite mission. Anyone who can afford Tanks should get them and flank you, and you'll want someone riding shotgun who knows how to use mortars without blowing themselves to bits. Anyone else in Assault Rigs or on foot are welcome to take out any jerks that come in with missile launchers to try and end your joyride.
  • Commando: One of the harder DCM missions. This essentially combines VIP with Outpost, only your VIP is weaker and you're trying to attack the Outpost.

The best strategy is actually to not let the Commando hack the enemy CP; you're going to want to go ahead with some of your teammates and do it before he gets there. If the enemy kills the Commando, it's mission over, so have a squad hang back and give him some support as though he were a regular VIP.

Cutting to the Chase
Win a ranked match in under 14 minutes

Teamwork, teamwork, teamwork. This won't come easily as most matches last about twenty minutes, but if you have a team that actively contributes to the win, you should get this pretty quickly - especially, surprisingly enough, if the enemy team is also putting in some work.

Go for kills, defend your CPs and take as active a part in DCMs as you can. Again, this will come to the team that is skilled, watches out for each other and communicates.

[top]
Adaptable
Participate in a successful DCM

Simply complete your first DCM. Refer to Goal Oriented for more information.

[top]
Swatting at Flies
Destroy a non-friendly repair drone

Every time a base asset is destroyed, you'll see what look like miniature helicopters fly out and begin to repair it. They won't attack you, but sacrifices must be made for the greater good of trophy whoring. One shot will do the trick.

[top]
Recession Proof
Purchase one of every vehicle and deployable

There are five deployables and two vehicles you need to purchase for a total of seven drops requested. You don't have to do this in one match, nor do your purchases have to actually reach the ground. Simply order one of everything at one point. You'll need:

Deployables
  • Supply Depot: 20 RP. This will heal and resupply all nearby allied units.
  • Sensor Array: 20 RP. This will constantly scan the nearby area and show any enemy units on your mini-map.
  • Anti-tank Rocket Turret: 40 RP. This will attack any nearby enemy units, doing less damage to personnel and extra to vehicles.
  • Anti-personnel Minigun Turret: 40 RP. This will attack any nearby enemy units, doing extra damage to personnel and less to vehicles.
  • Anti-aircraft Turret: 40 RP. This will automatically kill and shoot down any enemy players or deployables coming down in its airspace.

Vehicles:
  • Assault Rig (Heavy Armor): 100 RP. Equipped with a minigun and powerful melee attack, this walker is very difficult to destroy.
  • Heavy Tank: 150 RP. Equipped with cannon, minigun, rockets and mortars and able to seat four passengers, this tank is a very effective support tool.

Remember, the easiest ways to increases your score and earn Requisition Points are by making kills and participating in DCMs.

[top]
Passive Aggressive
Customize passive modules for one loadout in game

Very simple - when at the spawn screen, select "Customize Loadout". Select which class you want to tinker with, and then go to "Passive Modules". From there, you can reassign points to your various attributes, and the trophy will unlock once you've done so.

[top]
Shop 'til You Drop
Change loadouts 3 times

When next to a Supply Depot, press to bring up the Loadout screen. From there, change your class and press to back out. Repeat twice more and the trophy's yours.

[top]
Desensitization
Destroy 10 Sensor Arrays or Micro Sensors in ranked matches

Micro Sensor are incredibly difficult to spot and nobody uses them anyway, so just focus on destroying enemy sensor arrays when you're in their base. This will also prevent you from showing up on their mini-maps.

[top]
Ringleader
Invite 10 players into your squad (and have them accept) in multiplayer

This is way easier than it sounds. Start up an Instant Action game with bots, and when you're at the spawn screen for the first time, go to "Squads" and select your Squad. Select "Kick" and kick all the bots from your squad. Go to "Invite" and invite them all back in - they'll accept every time. Do this five times until the trophy unlocks.

[top]
Blitzkrieg
Capture 2 Control Points within 3 minutes in ranked matches

This probably will pop up by accident, and not when you're trying for it.

Best done on a smaller map, obviously, but you won't have much control over that. It's also easier done at the beginning of a match when nobody's captured any CPs yet.

You'll need to hack your first CP before immediately sprinting to the second one. You need to leave the second you're done because the timer starts once the CP has been fully captured, and you'll want as much of a headstart as possible.

Head for the second CP and hack/defuse that one, too. Once both CPs have been fully captured, the trophy will unlock.

[top]
Mr. Fixit
Get 100 repairs

After approximately two seconds of using the repair tool on any allied player, deployable or vehicle that needs it, you'll earn a repair point. Simply accumulate one hundred of these across all game modes and types. This will come over time if you generally equip yourself with the tool.

[top]
Plow the Road
Perform 5 kills in a round using overdrive

This is extraordinarily difficult. You can hold down to sprint, and after a few seconds you'll enter Overdrive. Should you collide with any players while in Overdrive, you'll deal them damage, whether or not they have shields currently active.

The hard part, though, is it isn't an instant kill. You need to make sure your target has at least two-thirds of their health gone. I suggest taking two shots with the Pistol, running away, and then doubling back when Overdrive has kicked in.

However, you'll want to avoid shooting any enemies when teammates are nearby, as they'll likely finish off your target before you can hit them. It may actually be easier for you to constantly be in Overdrive and ram any enemies who are currently engaged with your team.

Whichever strategy you choose, you must make five kills this way in one match for the trophy to unlock.

[top]
Revenge of the Falling
Drop kill an enemy Anti-Air Turret

This is insanely difficult. The easiest way to unlock this is to get lucky and have someone requisition an AA turret right underneath you, right before you drop.

You'll need to free spawn at the very edge of an AA turret's radius of fire. Wait until the orange is just about to turn red on your altimeter before pressing and engaging your airbrake. That's the only way you'll have enough velocity to take something out, unless it's already damaged.

From there, immediately guide yourself down right on top of the AA turret. If you hit it spot on, it should be destroyed. If you're off even just a smidge, well, at least you've weakened it for your next pass.

[top]
Army of One
Win a complete game of One Man Army

Go to Instant Action and set up a game of One Man Army with the difficulty set to Trivial. Keep the number of players down to eight unless you're masochistic. A smaller map is best; larger maps will leave more objectives to the enemy and greater distance for you to travel. I suggest Blackstone Marsh: East, as it's only got two CPs and one of them has a nice wall with some great emplacements.

Have a machine gun and shotgun as your weapons, with repair as one of your equips. You need the large capacity automatic of the machine gun when the enemy mobs you all at once, and the shotgun for clean-up work. Use repair, as always, to heal yourself when you catch some respite.

Drop in at the edge of the left CP, and when you hit the aribrakes at about mid-orange, you're going to want to dive inside the AA's circle of fire. If you do it right, you won't lose anything but your shields.

Hack the CP immediately, and mow down every enemy that comes your way. The CP will capture, and the second you have the opportunity and enough Requisition Points, call down a minigun turret by the Supply Point, with a Supply Depot sandwiched in between them so they repair each other. Add another minigun nearby when you get the chance.

Now just kill, kill, kill. Don't worry about any DCMs that activate, you'll win handily without them. Just kill any enemy that comes without your little encampment.

When you have enough points, purchase an Assault Rig. You don't want a tank because they handle like crap, and you want the close-quarters attacks the Rig offers.

Keep killing the bots. Whenever you need repairs, back up your cluster and the Supply Depot and Point will heal you up in no time. Soon enough your "team" will hit 1000 score, and you'll win the match.

Insanity Defense
Win a complete game of Super Swarm on Insane difficulty

NOTE: This can be completed with a friend, so party up if you're having trouble! (Special thanks to Minarum for confirming this)

Don't be intimidated by this - it's difficult, yes, but not impossible. You're going to treat this the same way you treated your One Man Army game, so refer to Army of One for more information.

Keep the number of players down to eight unless you're masochistic. A smaller map is best; larger maps will leave more objectives to the enemy and greater distance for you to travel. I suggest Blackstone Marsh: East, as it's only got two CPs and one of them has a nice wall with some great emplacements.

Hack a single CP and kill anyone that comes near. Once you have enough points, you're going to want to call down at least two Supply Depots near the existing Supply Point, effectively making the three of them invincible, and guaranteeing you a steady stream RP. Supplement them with a minigun and rocket turret when you get the chance.

Now for the majority of the game you're going to want to just sit in that base and kill anyone that comes near. The only time you should leave your base is when you have a convoy DCM, as you can easily accomplish that with your squadmate's help. Be prepared to replace one or two of your deployables when you return to base, however.

And when the enemy starts an Intelligence mission, I suggest equipping some detpacks around the Intel and blowing them whenever someone picks it up. If you can keep it within fifty meters until the last thirty seconds, the DCM is yours.

This will be a close game, but you should win it on your first or second try. Don't let the enemy intimidate you.

Immortal Sovereign
Win a complete game of Swarm without dying

NOTE: This can be completed with a friend, so party up if you're having trouble! (Special thanks to Minarum for confirming this)

Much easier than it sounds. Go to Instant Action and set up a game of Swarm with the difficulty set to Trivial. Keep the number of players down to eight, because although adding more players will give you more teammates, they're just as useless as the enemy on this difficulty.

I'd also suggest a smaller map with no more than three CPs. You don't need to hold all of them to win, and having a larger map will make the game longer with so few players.

It's really not that difficult to stay alive. Simply choose your best class and puppy guard a Supply Depot so your health is constantly being replenished. As soon as you're able, spawn a Heavy Armor and lay some serious punishment down - you're much harder to kill, and your excessive murder will increase your team's score significantly.

Be sure to take part in any DCMs that happen as those too will help greatly. Again, not a difficult trophy.

[top]
Swarming Behavior
Win a game of Super Swarm on all maps

FIRST NOTE: This can be completed with a friend, so party up if you're having trouble! (Special thanks to Minarum for confirming this)

SECOND NOTE: Sometimes the game won't count some of your matches, and you'll have to repeat them. Doing all the maps in one play session seems to help, as does waiting for the next match after your win to begin before quitting. There is no fix for this issue; if it happens to you, you'll simply have to knuckle down and replay those lost matches.

Remember that you do not have to play on every variant of every map; only a variant of each. The maps are as follows:
  • Azure Basin
  • Blackstone Marsh
  • Devil's Backbone
  • Edge of Oasis
  • Hornet's Nest
  • Invasion Point
  • Land's End
  • Nuclear Dawn
  • Orbital Relay
  • Stormfront
  • Utah Crash Site

This is not a difficulty-specific trophy; you can play all of these matches on Trivial if you desire. Remember to go after DCMs every opportunity you get (especially on the lower difficulties) as they increase your team's score significantly, and to watch your captured CPs as they do generate score over time.

[top]
For the Swarm
Win a game of Swarm on Hard difficulty on all maps

FIRST NOTE: This can be completed with a friend, so party up if you're having trouble! (Special thanks to Minarum for confirming this)

SECOND NOTE: Sometimes the game won't count some of your matches, and you'll have to repeat them. Doing all the maps in one play session seems to help, as does waiting for the next match after your win to begin before quitting. There is no fix for this issue; if it happens to you, you'll simply have to knuckle down and replay those lost matches.

  • Hornet's Nest
  • Invasion Point
  • Land's End
  • Nuclear Dawn
  • Orbital Relay
  • Stormfront
  • Utah Crash Site

Despite the description, this won't be all that challenging, either. Swarm mode still leaves you with a fair amount of teammates, and Hard mode isn't all too challenging. Remember, smaller maps and smaller bot counts make for easier matches.

I suggest picking a CP from the start and steadily fortifying it with defense clusters and Supply Depots. Kill an enemies that attack, and only attempt the easiest of DCMs. Even if the enemy wins the majority of them, they'll still be hard-pressed to catch up to your slaughter-filled score. I would only even attempt the Convoy missions and thwarting the enemy's Intelligence missions. If by some miracle you earn a VIP or Commando DCM, your allies can assist it easily. Grab an Assault Rig when you can and continue killing.

For more strategies and information, refer to Insanity Defense.
