[top]Roadmap

Here is what I consider to be the best and most enjoyable way to I Guess it's Time to Roll the Credits:

First Playthrough: Beat the game on normal
It's important to play on normal (or higher) because you won't find enough enemies on easy. Your goal is to kill 333 enemies in only two playthroughs to unlock the Heather Beam. This means you should kill at least 150 enemies on your first run. Make sure you kill everything that moves, a bit of farming on the streets of Silent Hill won't hurt either. If you get more fighting kills than kills by shooting on your first playthrough this will unlock the Beam Saber for your Extra New Game. If you shoot an enemy until it goes down and then stomp it this will count as a melee kill as well. Pick up the Silencer for Wall Basher but don't equip it. You want to attract as much attention as possible. Make sure to kill the final boss with a melee attack (the Katana is recommended for that) to unlock the awesome Unlimited Sub Machine Gun for your second playthrough. You will get the normal ending at the end of this playthrough. Before you start a new game go the the Extra Costumes menu to unlock Where's Luna.

Second Playthrough: Beat the game on normal with the second ending
You should have unlocked the Unlimited Sub Machine gun now, so pick it up and then start mowing them down! Using this weapon you won't have any issues with the time requirements for those boss trophies. Make sure to pick up the Beam Saber for There's a New Sheriff in Town and don't forget to grab the Steel Pipe as you'll need it for What the Hill Just Happend?. Keep working on your 333 kills and make sure to take a lot of damage while doing so. The reason for that is that your internal score has to be 4000 points of more in order to unlock the second ending. Killing a ton of enemies and making the right decisions won't be enough for that, you should also take at least 1000 damage (two times from perfectly healthy to almost dead) to make sure you really get the Possessed ending. Given your new best friend, the Unlimited Sub Machine gun, you should have far more shooting kills than fighting kills at the end of this playthrough. This will unlock the Flamethrower for your final playthrough. If you managed to kill at least 333 enemies on your first two playthroughs the game will tell you that you unlocked the Heather Beam after the results screen. If Looks Could Kill will unlock shortly thereafter. However, if you failed it's another complete playthrough for you.

Note: Shemhazat found a nice place where you can find three enemies which will respawn indefinitely. If you whore around here a bit 333 kills in two playthroughs won't pose a problem:

If you kill all three of them and then head back into and out of the office, they will have respawned again.
Third Playthrough: Beat half of the game on easy for the UFO ending
To unlock the UFO ending you have to kill at least 30 enemies with the Heather Beam before reaching Heather's apartment. It's best to play on easy for that, because the Heather Beam isn't really powerful. No worries, there will be more than enough enemies even on easy. Make sure to get Adrenaline Junkie, Makes My Head Hurt and Ninja on this playthrough, too. This shouldn't be a problem though. If you meet the requirments for the UFO ending the game will end as soon as you reach Heather's apartment. This will unlock Coolest. Dad. Ever. and I Guess it's Time to Roll the Credits. Congratz!

I Guess it's Time to Roll the Credits
Unlock all Trophies in SH3.

Unlock all the other trophies in Silent Hill 3 and you'll be awared another shiny for your virtual trophy cabinet.

[top]
I'm Normal I Promise
Unlock the "Normal" ending.

This is the first regular ending of Silent Hill 3. You'll get it on your first playthrough no matter what you do. On your second run, you'll get it if your internal score is < 4000. Check the spoiler box below to see how you can influence your internal score.

It Was All in Your Head
Unlock the "Possesed" ending.

This is the second regular ending of Silent Hill 3. You can unlock this ending after you've beaten the game at least once. If you want to see this ending your internal score needs to be over 4000. Check the spoiler box below to see how you can influence your internal score.

Coolest. Dad. Ever.
Unlock the "UFO" ending.

To unlock the UFO Ending in SH3 you need the Heather Beam. To unlock the Heather Beam, you need to have killed at least 333 enemies on all of your playthroughs. It's possible to do this on two playthroughs on normal. Check the description for If Looks Could Kill for details.

Once you've unlocked the Heather Beam start a new game on easy. You have to kill at least 30 enemies with your new weapon before you reach your apartment, and the Heather Beam isn't really powerful, so you don't really want to make this a pain by playing on normal or hard. There are more than enough enemies even on easy. I used a checklist to find out when I was done with those 30 Heather Beam kills and used the Unlimited Submachine Gun for the rest of the way. It should take you less than an hour to complete this run. If you've gotten 30+ Heather Beam kills by the time you unlock your apartment this will automatically trigger the UFO ending and your trophy will unlock.

[top]
Adrenaline Junkie
Complete SH3 in 3 hours or less.

While it is perfectly possible to obtain this trophy on your first or second run with the Normal or the Possessed Ending there is absolutely no need to do this. After you've unlocked the Heather Beam (see If Looks Could Kill for details) you can go for the UFO Ending (see Coolest. Dad. Ever. above). If you meet the requirements for this ending the game will come to a close as soon as you reach Heather's apartment. It's possible to do this in well under one hour. Watch the loco ending and you'll receive your trophy on the results screen.

[top]
Wall Basher
Acquire the Silencer.

The Silencer can be found on the 5th floor of the Construction Site building. Search around the room and at one point you will notice that the camera shifts and focuses on one particular part of a wall. Use you Steel Pipe or the Maul to break the wall and you'll obtain your Silencer and the trophy. If you have the Silencer equipped you'll attract less attention from nearby monsters when shooting. However, using the silencer also reduces the damage your gun deals.

[top]
There's a New Sheriff in Town
Acquire the Beam Saber.

The Beam Saber becomes available after you've beaten the game at least once while earning more fighting kills than shooting kills. This is most likely to happen on your first playthrough, before bullet adjust and the Unlimited Submachine Gun become available. Note that if you shoot an enemy until it goes down and then curb-stomp it to put its lights out this will count as a melee kill as well.

Once you have beaten the game with more fighting kills, start an Extra New Game. The Beam Saber can be found in the shopping mall, at the end of the hallway with the key with the tongs (the one you need for the book store). Check the door at the end of the hallway and Heather will notice that the doorknob looks funny. She will pick up the weapon and your trophy will unlock.

[top]
Flame On
Acquire the Flamethrower.

The Flamethrower becomes available after you've beaten the game at least once while earning more shooting kills than fighting kills. This is most likely to happen on your second playthrough, when you've unlocked the Unlimited Submachine Gun* or at least the bullet adjust option in the hidden options menu. Note that if you shoot an enemy until it goes down and then curb-stomp it to put its lights out this will not count as a shooting kill.

Once you have beaten the game with a superior number of shooting kills, start an Extra New Game. The Flamethrower can be found in Helen's Bakery in the shopping mall. I guess they used it to gratinate or something. Anyway, pick up the weapon and your trophy will unlock.

*if you followed my roadmap, that is

[top]
What the Hill Just Happened?
Acquire the Gold and Silver pipes.

This trophy becomes available after you've beaten the game at least once. Start an Extra New Game and don't forget to pick up the Steel Pipe in the shopping mall, because you'll need it for this trophy. Once you have reached the room in the sewers where you have to kill the lurking Octopus with the Hairdryer, go to the edge of the water and press. You'll be asked if you want to throw your Steel Pipe into the water. Well, of course you do, since there is no Eddie fight to glitch in this game. Choose Yes and a fairy will appear, asking you a couple of questions. Just like in real life it's best to stick to the truth. No, you did not accidentally drop this precious gold pipe and nope, neither did you lose this valuable silver pipe. All you wanted to do was to get rid of some unnecessary weight. The fairy will be all because she finally met an honest person. She will give all three pipes to you as a reward. Great, wonder if she has an idea of what a gold pipe like this weighs. Well, she lives under water, so maybe weight doesn't play that much of a role for her. Anyway, for you there is another heavy silver trophy in this.

[top]
Makes My Head Hurt
Complete SH3 with 2 saves or less.

You'll want to do this together with Coolest. Dad. Ever. since you only have to beat half of the game when going for the UFO-Ending. It takes about an hour to obtain the UFO ending, so two saves are actually a lot. I'd recommend to save after the Shopping Mall and in the Construction Building. Make sure that you meet the requirements for the UFO ending and the game will end once you've reached Heather's place. Your trophy will pop at the results screen.

[top]
If Looks Could Kill
Unlock the Heather Beam.

To unlock the Heather Beam you have to kill at least 333 enemies in Silent Hill 3. Those kills stack across multiple playthroughs. If you are playing on normal or higher it's possible to rack up that many kills in only two runs. Don't play on easy, since there won't be enough enemies on this difficulty. You really have to kill almost every enemy you encounter, but I really recommend doing this because it will save you a third playthrough. If you met the requirements you'll get a message after the result screen, telling you that you unlocked the Heather Beam. Your trophy will unlock shortly after that.
Note: Shemhazat found a nice place where you can find three enemies which will respawn indefinitely. If you whore around here a bit 333 kills in two playthroughs won't pose a problem:

If you kill all three of them and then head back into and out of the office, they will have respawned again.

[top]
Where's Luna?
Equip the "Princess Heart" costume.

After you've beaten the game at least once an Extra Costumes option will become available in the main menu. Chose it and enter PrincessHeart on the typewriter. Make sure you get the caps right. Hit enter and you'll get a message saying that you unlocked a transform costume. Shortly thereafter your trophy will unlock.

[top]
Heather's Got a Gun
Acquire the Unlimited Submachine Gun.

To unlock this weapon you'll have to beat the final boss with a melee attack. Any melee weapon will do, but I recommend using the Katana. I did the whole fight with this weapon as I wasn't sure when to switch to melee. It's really easy on normal if you have a couple of health items left. When you are done with this start an Extra New Game. You'll find the Unlimited Sub Machine Gun at the very beginning of the game. Right after you climbed through the restroom window in the mall turn left and check the pile of boxes blocking the way. Your weapon is lying just in front of it. Pick it up and the trophy will unlock.

[top]
Pest Control
Defeat Split Worm in under 2 minutes.

Split Worm is the Shopping Mall boss. As the trophy description already told you you'll have to beat it in under two minutes for this trophy to unlock. It's quite likely that you'll already obtain this trophy on your first playthrough. Just shoot it when it opens it's mouth, shouldn't take too long on normal. No worries if you don't make it though, since this is going to be a joke with the Unlimited Sub Machine Gun on your second playthrough. Just make sure to unlock this weapon on your first playthrough and you'll beat this boss in under 30 seconds on normal.

[top]
Eye For an Eye
Defeat Missionary in under 2 minutes.

You'll encounter this boss after you've returned to your apartment. As the trophy description already told you you'll have to beat it in under two minutes for this trophy to unlock. It's quite likely that you'll already obtain this trophy on your first playthrough. The boss isn't too hard, especially if you found the Silencer. If you use the Silencer the boss won't be able to block any of your attacks. Just shoot it until it goes down. No worries if you don't get the trophy though, since this is going to be a joke with the Unlimited Sub Machine Gun on your second playthrough

[top]
A Time to Kill
Defeat Leonard in under 3 minutes.

You'll encounter this boss at the end of the alternate hospital. It isn't that hard and you might already obtain this trophy on your first run. However, if you didn't just use your Unlimited Sub Machine Gun on your second run to beat this boss in about one minute.

[top]
Lost Memory
Defeat Memory of Alessa in under 3 minutes.

This is the boss at the end of the Amusement Park. You'll encounter 4 different versions of Alessa, each is using a different weapon: Knife, Handgun, Pipe and Sub-Machinegun. If you don't get this trophy on your first run just use your Unlimited Sub Machine Gun on your second playthrough.

[top]
Blasphemy
Defeat God in under 8 minutes.

God is the final boss in the game. It is a bit annoying, but 8 minutes is a lot of time for this, even if you are only using the Katana. If you are playing on normal you should get this trophy on the first playthrough.

[top]
This Isn't an FPS!
Defeat at least 75 enemies by shooting in SH3.

This has to be done in a single playthrough, which is why I labelled it missable. However, if you are going for plat you'll get this trophy on your second playthrough at the latest (assuming you curb-stomped most of the enemies on your first run to save ammo). If you followed my roadmap you are enjoying the benefits of the Unlimited Sub Machine gun on your second playthrough so this trophy should pop in no time.

[top]
They Look like Monsters to You?
Defeat at least 75 enemies by fighting in SH3.

This has to be done in a single playthrough, which is why I labelled it missable. However, if you are going for plat you should already get this during your first playthrough. Remember that if you shoot an enemy until it goes down and then curb-stomp it this will count as a melee kill.

[top]
Hoarder
Pick up at least 100 items in SH3.

This has to be done in one single playthrough, so it could be considered missable. However, 100 items is a joke, you don't even have to get out of your way in order to get this trophy. Just pick up every item you come across and the trophy will eventually unlock.

[top]
Ninja
Receive less than 500 points of damage in one game, in SH3.

You'll want to do this together with Coolest. Dad. Ever. since you only have to beat half of the game when going for the UFO-Ending. You can even play on easy on that run. If you meet the requirements for the UFO ending the game will end as soon as Heather unlocks her apartment. If you managed to take more than 500 points of damage on easy when you had only to play 1/2 of the game... well, then I can't help you. But don't worry, you won't. The result screen will tell you that you took about 100-200 damage max and the trophy will pop.
