The single player in the game is very straightforward. Playing on Mercenary difficulty is not very difficult as you have a lot at your disposal with the Build and Battle system.

How to use Build and Battle: Hold when you are on the ground. Select any structure you wish to build with . Push and the structure you selected will come down to be built.

Every trophy in the game besides the story related and difficulty related trophies, is boostable in either split-screen or online. See the trophies you wish to boost for more detail.

[top]Roadmap

Step 1. Play through the campaign: You only need to play through the single player once on Mercenary difficulty. There are no missable trophies, so try and focus on getting through it and enjoying it.

Step 2. Play Prospector mode: You're gonna need to win at least 50 Prospector mode games. You also need to win one with no deaths.

Step 3. Play the multiplayer: This includes Deathmatch, TDM, Zones, and Capture the Flag modes. You are gonna need 100 wins in each except for Deathmatch.

Step 4. Misc. Trophies: This includes all the kill enemies in a certain way and get a specific objective done trophies. You can earn these in any game mode.

Earn every single trophy in Starhawk.

Like all other Platinum trophies, earn each and every trophy in the game to earn this shiny new Plat.

Homecoming
Complete mission 1: "Homecoming".

This is story related, Unmissable.

You will earn this trophy once you complete mission 1, no matter what difficulty you choose to play on.

Complete mission 2: "The Freightway".

This is story related, Unmissable.

You will earn this trophy once you complete mission 2, no matter what difficulty you choose to play on.

Harvest Season
Complete mission 3: "Harvest Season".

Man vs. Machine
Defeat the mech in "Harvest Season".

This is story related, Unmissable.

This trophy will be obtained during mission 2.

Near the end of the mission a Mech will appear after you are protecting your base. There will be a warning with a red mech symbol and a timer counting down in which he will come in. You can be prepared for its landing by dropping turrets or whatever else you think will help in this situation. Your teammates will also be very helpful when it lands as well. It is fairly easy as a mini-boss, and you will see many more of them later in the game. Once it is destroyed, this trophy will pop.

The Pipeline
Complete mission 4: "The Pipeline".

This is story related, Unmissable.

You will earn this trophy once you complete mission 4, no matter what difficulty you choose to play on.

The Harder They Fall
Defeat the Apex Warrior in "The Pipeline".

This is story related, Unmissable.

You will earn this trophy during mission 4.

The Apex Warriors are basically the giant form of the outcasts. He will appear once after you are bombarded with enemies. You will be prompted with a red symbol and a timer counting down when he will arrive giving you time to prepare for him. Put down turrets or whatever else you think will help against him. You will also have teammates there helping you defeat him. This is the first area this mini-boss shows up in, and they will show up more often later in the game.

Ballard's Crossing
Complete mission 5: "Ballard's Crossing".

This is story related, Unmissable.

You will earn this trophy once you complete mission 5, no matter what difficulty you choose to play on.

Train Robbery
Complete mission 6: "Train Robbery".

This is story related, Unmissable.

You will earn this trophy once you complete mission 6, no matter what difficulty you choose to play on.

Complete mission 7: "The Pit".

Making An Entrance
Detonate the rift bomb in "The Pit".

This is story related, Unmissable.

You will earn this trophy during mission 7.

You will get to an area where there is a seal covering the "pit". Defeat the enemies within the area and Cutter will send down a rift bomb down on top of the pit. You will then have to defend the bomb from waves of enemies. Cutter will inform you on how much time until the bomb will go off. Once time is up, and you have defeated most of the enemies, this trophy will pop.

Complete the campaign on Mercenary difficulty.

You can pick Mercenary difficulty right from the start by going to settings and changing the difficulty. It is the hardest difficulty in the game and all the difficulty related trophies are also stackable. If you choose to play the game on Mercenary your first time around, then you will only need one playthrough of the game.

Tips for your Mercenary playthrough:
  • Build and Battle is your best friend, use it any chance you get.
  • Build Outposts, so you can have allies come and help.
  • When defending, Auto Turrets and Beam Cannons will help against most enemy encounters.
  • Keep in cover as much as possible. Push to crouch, if you need to hide to heal.
  • Use vehicles any chance you get, as they can help get you out of a bad situation.
  • Build supply bunkers so you do not run out of ammunition, and so you will get more weaponry.
  • When you know you're leaving an are, demolish the buildings you made to get some Rift Energy back.
Note: You will need to play all missions in ORDER on Mercenary difficulty so this trophy will unlock. If you play out of order, the trophy will not unlock.

First Blood
Get your first kill in multiplayer.

As simple as it sounds. All you need to do is get one kill in a single multiplayer match and this trophy is yours.

Outlaw
Get 1,000 kills in multiplayer.

You need to have 1,000 kills in multiplayer to get this trophy. Not as big of a grind as many will think, as you need to win many games in the multiplayer anyway. This should come naturally while you play.

You can boost this trophy in either split-screen or online with a friend.

The First of Many
Win your first multiplayer game.

You can go to Quick Match, Game list or Create game to join multiplayer. Any game mode works for this trophy. Just win one game, any mode, and this trophy is yours.

Conqueror
Win 100 multiplayer games.

This will come over time since you need a 100 wins each in TDM, CTF and Zones. Focus one getting these and this trophy will pop in time.

CTF Starter
Win your first Capture the Flag game.

Basic Capture the Flag type game. You must get to your enemies base, steal their flag and return it back to your own base to score. Who ever has the most by the end, or reaches the required score limit, wins. Kills and deaths do not count.

You need to just win 1 CTF game for this trophy to pop. See CTF Veteran

CTF Veteran
Winn 100 Capture the Flag games.

You can either join CTF games online and try to win 100 games legitimately, or you can boost with a friend online or in split-screen.

The way you boost is by going to create game and change all the following:
Game mode: CTF
Loadout: Air Superiority [Blitz]
Score Limit: 1
Fly with Flag: On
Move over to server options and change the following:
Make a password so no one can join.
Max players: 2
Intermission: 0:10
Now Start Game

If you do not have a second controller, just have your friend online join your new game by giving him the password.
If you do have a second controller Push , then push to get to home screen. Go down to Split Screen and select a second account for player 2 to play as.
The game will count down to start once you have 2 players within the game.

Once the game has started just jump in a hawk, fly over to the enemy base, take the enemies flag and fly back scoring for your team and taking the win. The game will then make another match. You will have to have player 2 change teams by pushing , then , then scroll down to switch teams so the game will start once again.

Repeat this process 100 times and you will earn this trophy.

Zones Starter
Win your first Zones game.

In Zones, the objective is to take bases and hold them out till your score reaches the score limit, or till you gain total world Victory.

You need to just win 1 Zones game for this trophy to pop. See Zones Veteran

Zones Veteran
Win 100 Zones games.

You can either join a Zones game online and try to win 100 games legitimately, or you can boost with a friend online or in split-screen.

The way you boost is by going to create game and change all the following:
Game mode: Zones
Loadout: Air Superiority [Blitz]
Score Limit: DOES NOT MATTER
Move over to server options and change the following:
Make a password so no one can join.
Max players: 2
Intermission: 0:10
Now Start Game

If you do not have a second controller, just have your friend online join your new game by giving him the password.
If you do have a second controller Push, then push to get to home screen. Go down to Split Screen and select a second account for player 2 to play as.
The game will count down to start once you have 2 players within the game.

Once the game has started jump in a hawk and fly over to the enemies base. There will the main enemies Zone with a circle on the ground in front of it. Stand in this area till the bar at the bottom of the screen fills up green. Once you have done this, you will gain total World Victory. Give it a few seconds and the game will end with you as victor. The game will then make another match. You may have to have player 2 change teams by pushing, then, then scroll down to switch teams so the game will start once again.

Repeat this process 100 times and you will earn this trophy.

TDM Starter
Win your first Team Deathmatch game.

Normal TDM like in any other game. The team who reaches the kill limit first, or has the most kills when time is up, wins.

You need to win just 1 TDM game for this trophy to pop.

TDM Veteran
Win 100 Team Deathmatch games.

You can either join TDM games online and try to win 100 games legitimately, or you can boost with a friend online or in split-screen.

The way you boost is by going to create game and change all the following:
Game mode: TDM
Loadout: Air Superiority [Blitz]
Score Limit: 1
Move over to server options and change the following:
Make a password so no one can join.
Max players: 2
Intermission: 0:10
Now Start Game

Team Leader
Play a perfect Team Deathmatch game (top player, no deaths).

You need to be the #1 player with the most kills, along with having absolutely no deaths in a TDM match. The ratio between your Kills and Deaths do not matter however. So you can have 1 kill with no deaths and this trophy will pop as long as you are #1.

You can use the boosting method for this trophy making it so much easier for you. See TDM Veteran

Lone Wolf
Play a perfect Deathmatch game (top player, no deaths).

You need to be the #1 player with the most kills, along with having absolutely no deaths in a Deathmatch game. The ratio between your Kills and Deaths do not matter. So you can have 1 kill with no deaths and this trophy will pop as long as you are #1.

Prospector Starter
Win your first Prospector game.

Prospector is the co-op mode in the game.

This trophy will pop once you complete a whole game of Prospector. 1 full game of Prospector consists 6 waves of enemies. You can have up to 4 players play in this mode, however, they have to be on your friends list or invited by the host to play in the same game.

Prospector Veteran
Win 50 Prospector games.

You need to play 50 FULL Prospector games in order to get this trophy. A Prospector game has 6 waves of enemies you must defeat while you protect your Rift Extractor. This co-op mode can have up to 4 people play online. You can also change the difficulty by going to settings and changing it to whatever you want it to be.

Tips for Prospector:
  • Get as many friends as you can to help you. You can have 4 people play at once. Split-screen works here as well.
  • Set the difficulty to easy. It does not matter what the difficulty is, but going through 50 games on easy is much better than doing it on normal.
  • Use build and battle like crazy. It will be your best friend.
  • Shoot any canisters filled with Rift energy any chance you get. That way they will also respawn quicker.
  • Before the game starts, go off and find extra weaponry and shooting all the barrels of rift energy so you can build before the game starts.
  • The welding torch CAN REPAIR THE RIFT EXTRACTOR. So make sure you and your teammates all go out and find one.
  • Have one person constantly gaining rift energy by shooting the barrels near and away from the base so they can keep building.
Doing all these things will help you win at prospector mode.

Quick and easy guide to playing all 50 games of prospector:

Strategy 1.
Before the match begins...
1. Play on SITE 17. Easiest map of them all.
2. Destroy all the rift canisters around the area before the match begins.
3. Build a Vulture Station and make sure everyone has a jetpack.
4.Using the jetpack, fly up to the the top right of the canyon where more rift canisters and R-Sec Proximity mines are. Make sure you get the mines.
5. Plant the mines on the more open canyon side so when Razorbacks come they will destroy them.
6. On the left side there is a Welding Torch. Make sure everyone has one just in case the Rift Extractor needs repairs.
7. Build a wall on the back side of canyon where there is a sign saying 'MINING SITE 17', blocking anyone from coming in.
8. If anyone has rift energy left have them build turrets, or a Supply Bunker.
You can now start the game.

Once the game has started...
1. The first wave is quite easy so just shoot, kill and gain as much rift energy as you can.
2. You can leave one enemy alive, if your turrets and no one else has killed him yet, that way you can gain more rift energy by shooting the canisters and waiting for them to respawn over and over again.
3. Repair the Rift Extractor if needed.
4. Now the key to winning here is to constantly build Auto Turrets. Build a city of Auto Turrets as they are your best friend.

Just keep using this strategy for all 50 games, and you will get it done in no time. Remember Turrets are your best chances at winning. By using this strategy I was able to beat all 6 waves of enemies by myself, without dying. Having people help makes it even more easier.

Strategy 2.
There is another strategy that is quicker and easier to do than the one listed above. For this method, you will need to have downloaded the maw of Despair dlc, which is now free.

Before the match begins...
1. Play on easy difficulty.
2. Pick Maw of Despair map.
3. Shoot all rift barrels within the area and build as many Auto Turrets as you can.

Once the game has started...
1. Build as many Auto Turrets as you can around your Rift Extractor.
2. Build a supply bunker if needed.
3. Keep building more and more turrets as you can till you have finished all waves.

I used this method by myself and I did not die once. Use this method through all 50 games of Prospector and the trophy will come in no time at all.

Perfect Harvest
Win a Prospector game without losing any lives.

Prospector is the co-op mode in the game.

When it says without losing any lives, that counts towards everyone in the game, not just you. You can have up to 4 players in the game. Use jetpacks as they are a great getaway when you are in heavy fire. Also play on easy, as the difficulty does not matter.

Use Build & Battle for the first time in the campaign.

You will be taught how to use Build and Battle for the first time in Mission 1.

To use build and battle you push and hold then select what you want to build with the , and push to build it. Once you have built something this trophy will pop.

To earn this trophy, you can need to use build and battle in any type of multiplayer game mode.

Curious Builder
Build one of every available structure in a single multiplayer game.

Best done using the boosting method in either split-screen or online with a friend. See CTF Veteran

Just switch the loadout when making a game to classic beta and put the time limit high so you have enough time to build everything. This has to be done in multiplayer, and is very simple and straightforward to do. You need to collect enough rift energy at your base or by destroying rift barrels around the map to build every structure. Note that all structures are not available to create. All you need to do is create all the structures that are available to you and this trophy is yours.


There is a skill called Rift Affinity and it allows you to 'Slowly gather rift energy over time, even if not on base.' Equip this skill and you can go off base to destroy rift barrels and also gain the same amount as you would if you stayed at your base. Making this process to build everything speed up just a bit faster.

Prolific Builder
Build 100 structures in multiplayer.

Any type of structure counts for this trophy. You can keep building walls over and over again as they are the cheapest to use. I suggest to just play Prospector mode and keep building turrets. You need to beat 50 prospector games anyway so you will get this trophy on your way there.

Any multiplayer game mode will count towards this trophy.

Mancake!
Kill an enemy by dropping a structure on them.

Very simple trophy that can be earned in any game mode. All you have to do is use build and battle to create a structure and have it land on an enemy. To use build and battle push and hold , and select any structure with .

Saboteur
Destroy an enemy vehicle with the Welding Torch.

You can earn this trophy in any game mode, but the best method to use is the boosting method in either split-screen or online. See
TDM Veteran.

What you will need to do is find a Repair tool on the selected map you chose. You can find one by looking at your mini-map and seeing little yellow dots where more weaponry is located. You will want to get player 2 to get in any type of vehicle and find each other on the map once you have the repair tool. Player 2 has to be in the vehicle and all you need to do is aim and shoot at the vehicle till it is destroyed.

ARMed and Dangerous
Kill an enemy with the A.R.M.

The A.R.M. is the repair station in the game. It can repair vehicles, buildings, and it can also attack enemy vehicles.

You are first introduced to it in the campaign in mission 5.
During the mission there will be enemy waves coming in. Some of the waves will be in Razorbacks. You will know the area in which they will spawn by seeing a red Razorback symbol and a timer in which it will count down till they spawn. Deploy some walls to stop the Razorbacks from coming into the area. After you have some walls up, build an A.R.M. on the other side so when an enemy is stopped by the wall, the A.R.M. will destroy the vehicle. Once the A.R.M. destroys a vehicle this trophy will pop.

If you are having trouble earning this in the campaign, it can be boosted with a friend online or in split-screen.

This trophy can be unlocked in any game mode.

Deadeye
With the LR-3 Railgun, kill an enemy from more than 2,500 feet away.

The LR-3 Railgun is basically the sniper rifle in the game.

This trophy can be earned in any game mode. You need to get as far away as you can to earn this trophy. 2,500 feet is a hard distance to judge, so just make sure you are as far away as possible and have a clear shot on an enemy and kill him with it.

You can get a LR-3 Railgun by climbing up a scout tower, or by picking it up from a dead body.

Mech My Day
Shoot the pilot out of a Hawk while it's on the ground.

To earn this trophy you will need to shoot the pilot within a hawk. You can see the pilot on top of a hawk, and you should be able to make a clear shot at one if you look close enough. Shoot the man on top, and this trophy will unlock

This trophy can be earned in any game mode.

This can easily be obtained if you decide to boost in split-screen or online.

In mission 3 you will come across the first mech encounter and you can make an easy shot on it. Here is the video guide thanks to BenGunPS3.

Another tip by the good man kidson2004.
I got it on Chapter 5. What I did was build a wall, let the Mech land, circle around the wall until the Mech stopped walking, aimed high around the wall so I can see the pilot's head and BAM!!! Trophy!!

Out of the Saddle
Shoot the driver, passanger or gunner out of a Razorback.

The Razorback is the four wheel vehicle in the game. You need to shoot either the Driver, Passenger or the Gunner, and make sure you kill one of them, in order to get this trophy.
It may be easiest to use the LR-3 Railgun to get more of a precise shot on them.

Here is another awesome tip from the good man kidson2004.

On Chapter 5 I got to the part where the you fight the Mech. When you prepare for the wave of Razorbacks and other enemies, Build a wall right in front of where they're going to spawn, then hop up on top the wall, and you'll see them running into the wall, now they're stuck and that makes getting that trophy a lot easier!! Hoped I helped

Takedown
Kill an enemy with a melee attack.

To melee you must run up to an enemy and hit . Once they die from this, the trophy will pop shortly after.

Rear Gunner
Shoot down a Hawk with the Razorback turret.

You will need to be in the gunner seat of a Razorback in order to get this trophy. You can do this in any game mode but preferably boosting in either split-screen or online. You will have to shoot down a flying Hawk with the turret on the Razorback. This can be difficult to aim as the Hawk fly fairly fast. So by boosting, you will wan to have player 2 slow down by pushing once they fly over you, giving you more of a chance to shoot them down. Once you have destroyed the Hawk, this trophy is yours.

Eagle Eye
Shoot down a flying Hawk with the Ox Heavy Tank.

The Ox is the tank in the game. In order to get this trophy you need to destroy an enemy Hawk while you are driving one. This can easily be boosted in Split-screen or online with a friend. Have player 2 fly over you pushing so their Hawk will slow down, making it easier for you to shoot at them.

An easy place to get this trophy in the single player is mission 8, as there will be many hawks coming at you near the end of the mission. Aim high, and just a little in front of the Hawks path for best results in shooting it down.

Hat Trick
Destroy a fully-loaded Razorback with R-Sec proximity charges.

You can earn this trophy in any game mode. If you are having trouble with it, it is easily boostable online with 3 other people.

An easy spot to earn this trophy in the single player is in mission 5. You can get some R-Sec Proximity mines and plant them in the path of a Razorback. The mines will be attracted to the Razorbacks and should destroy it killing all 3 in the vehicles.

Minor Miscalculation
Kill an enemy with his own R-Sec proximity charge.

Most easily done by boosting in split-screen or online with a friend.

Just create any type of game online with max players set to 2, and make a password that way no random comes in before you can set it to split-screen or get your friend in the same game.

Now what you will want to do is get the 2nd player to go find R-sec Proximity mines located on the map. You can find them by using the mini-map on screen, for there will be little yellow dots that show where extra weapons are. Keep searching at these points until you find the mines. Once you find them, get the players together and have the 2nd player throw one on the ground next to him. Once he is close enough to the mine the 1st player will shoot it and he will blow up with it giving you this trophy.

Annoying Little Fly
Kill a player flying a Vulture pack by ramming them with your Hawk.

The Vulture pack is basically the jetpack in the game. In order to get this trophy, you will need to be in a Hawk. Once you see an enemy in the air with a vulture pack, you need to fly right at him and hit him. The best method may to be on the ground at first and when you see one come at you in the air, take aim, push and you will fly right at him. You can earn this trophy in any game mode, so if you're struggling with it, you can get a friend online or use split-screen to get the trophy.

Kill an enemy with a Tetranite Grenade from at least 200 feet away.

The Tetranite Grenade is the basic grenade within the game. You throw one by pushing when you are on foot. The best thing for you to do is aim high and throw one when an enemy is far away. You can do this in any game mode so if you are having trouble you can get a freind online to help you or use split-screen.
