Start the Party comprises a small collection of fun, moderately challenging mini-games. Grab a few friends and some drinks for a party, or play all four characters by yourself to make earning the trophies easier. An overall easy game, Start the Party presents a fairly easy platinum with only one or two headache-inducing trophies. These select few trophies, however, can cause MAJOR headaches.

This game offers a few different play modes:
  • Group Play - Party Mode - Play with two to four people in a competitive series of minigames. Games comprise 5, 8, or 10 rounds of minigames with a few shenanigans thrown in, such as "Robber Rounds" where you steal stars (points) from your competitors and "Three Strikes Round"s where you can play a particular minigame for as long as you can until you fail three times (or get three strikes).
  • Group Play - Party Mix - The same idea as Party Mode, except you get to choose which mini-games you play, rather than letting the game randomly choose them for you. In Party Mix mode, you cannot decide when the Three Strikes Rounds will appear.
  • Solo Play - Survival Mode - In survival mode, you are given a status meter on the right-hand side of your screen. Initially, the status meter is full. Your meter slowly drains to empty. Once the meter is empty, your game is over and the clock stops. You will play a series of minigames in rapid succession. If you do well on the games, your meter will either deplete slower, stay at the same level, or even fill back up a bit, giving you more time to play. If you do poorly on the games, your meter will deplete more rapidly. Do as well as you can on all of the minigames to survive for as long as you can!
  • Solo Play - Free Play - In Free Play, you can practice individual minigames. Only nine of the minigames are available in this mode, while the rest are only accessible during Party Mode. Games NOT available in this mode include Pinata Bashing, Rock Breaking, Ball Bouncing, Keeping Your Lollipop Away from the Bees, Fruit Chopping, and a few others. During Free Play, you play one game of your choosing at a time and you can pick between Easy, Normal, and Hard difficulty level.
The nine Party Games available in Free Play are:
    • Fish Poppin'
    • Bug Swattin'
    • Ghost Lightin'
    • Chick Savin'
    • Picture Paintin'
    • Parachuter Rescuin'
    • Robot Zappin'
    • Helicopter Rescuin'
    • Hair Cuttin'

[top]Tips & Strategies

  • Some games become easier if you calibrate the Move controller at your normal distance and then scoot much closer to the screen. This significantly enlarges whatever prop you’re using at the time and in some cases makes the games easier to score high on.
  • If you just want to burn through games quickly and easily, set the difficulty to Hard as it gives you less time for some of the mini-games, saving you time overall.
  • If you're just hunting for Three Strike Rounds, use Party Mode with four players and set the difficulty to Easy. This gives you the most chances to earn the trophies associated with Three Strike Rounds, and playing on Easy DOES make the Three Strike Rounds easier.
  • The game doesn't exactly tell you the names of the minigames, so I've made them up. They're mostly short descriptions of the games themselves.

[top]Roadmap

  1. Play each of the 9 Party Games in Free Play on all three difficulty levels. Do this to get familiar some of the games and knock out a good chunk of the trophies. You'll also get familiar with how the level of difficulty you choose impacts the speed and number of objects in each game.
  2. Play 10+ Party Mode Games of 5 rounds, 4 players, on Easy. Do this to knock out some trophies that can only be earned during Party Mode. In particular, focus on:

    • Unstoppable - One player wins three consecutive rounds in Party Mode.
    • Against the Odds - Steal enough stars to go from last place to first place during a Robber Round.
    • Party Popper - One player earns 20 or more stars during a Party Mode game.
    • Bonus King! - One player earns all bonuses available during a Party Mode game.
    • Party Star - One player earns 15 or more stars during a Party Mode game.
    • Big Burglar - One player steals 5 stars during a Robber Round.
    • Empty Pockets - Steal all stars from a competitor, leaving them with 0 during a Robber Round.
    • THE THREE STRIKES ROUND TROPHIES!

  3. Play 20 games of survival mode. Do this to knock out all of the Survival Mode trophies.
  4. Get Midnight Party , Christmas Party , Watch the Credits for The Supermassive Team , and Clean Up anything you missed by redoing Party Mode games with various settings or using Free Play.
  5. Platinum

Chain King!
Pop a colour chain of 70+ fish in Poppin' on Hard difficulty.

It is best to attempt this trophy in Free Play, on Hard.

In this game, your Move controller becomes a harpoon that you use to pop spherical, fish-shaped balloons that float from the bottom of the screen to the top. To create a color chain, pop several balloons of the same color consecutively. For this trophy, go for 70 or more of one color in a row, without hitting any other colors, or the bombs, OR THE BONUS FISH, and you'll pop this trophy.

This trophy is seriously difficult. You MUST play on Hard to even have access to enough balloons to reach 70, and there will be three other colors, bombs, and the bonus fish to avoid. You must be fast and highly accurate.

To save your arm and enhance accuracy, try holding the Move controller like a dagger, up by your ear, and think about stabbing the fish, rather than holding the controller low at your waste with the standard grip and trying to jab at them. If it helps you, tilt the Move controller upwards so your stabs are more directly towards the camera. You don't want to be swiping across the screen! This trophy will require lots of practice...but it is a .

After trying for several more hours and trying random stuff, I recommend the following:
  • Go into the Options menu and "upscale" the screen TO THE MAX. This makes the bubbles bigger
  • Do not keep your elbow stationary and lightly poke at bubbles. This causes you to swipe across larger areas. Instead, move from the shoulder. Move your whole arm to be in line with your target, then make a straight jab in and out. This greatly improves accuracy.
  • Point the camera up a little bit and sit closer to the camera so your harpoon is larger, requiring you to cover less distance when going from one target to another.
  • Once the game tells you the first color to target, make sure you don't pop anything else! Not even the bonus ballon/fish. If the game has to tell you a second color, it's already worth starting over. Just let the time run out and save your energy unless you want to work on accuracy.
  • I popped this trophy with a score of 63,700. I highly doubt I popped 70 balloons...maybe more like 50. However, I was targeting the same color the entire game, and I think you get some sort of multiplier advantage once your streak gets high. I have no way to confirm that though.

[top]
Unstoppable!
One player wins 3 rounds in a row in Party Mode.

This is one of those laughably easy trophies that feels like a gift. All you have to do is play a Party Mode game and manipulate the game so that the same player wins three consecutive rounds. The easiest way to do this is to pick the player you want to win three rounds in a row and score points in each of those rounds. Force the other characters to be idle (set the controller down if you like) so they receive little or no points. Repeat this for two more rounds so that one player wins all three consecutive rounds and this trophy will pop.

[top]
Top Survivor
Get to the top of the leader board in Survival Mode.

Please refer to the Introduction for a brief discussion of Survival Mode.

The default 1st place score (top of the leaderboard) for Survival Mode is two minutes (2:00). Stay alive for two minutes or longer to pop this trophy. Survival Mode games are fast and not that difficult. You are required to play at least 20 Survival Mode games for the Survivalist trophy anyway, so you'll have ample practice time to work towards this relatively simple goal.

[top]
Survivalist
Play 20 games of Survival.

Please refer to the Introduction for a brief discussion of Survival Mode.

Scoring well is not a requirement for this trophy. Work on surviving for longer than two minutes to earn all trophies related to Survival Mode. If you post a score of two minutes or longer before you've played 20 survival games, you can either keep playing for fun, or you can just start each game and set the controller down to fail quickly, saving you time (in case you're just in this for the trophies...). Complete 20 Survival Mode games to pop this trophy.

[top]
Life and Soul of the...
Play 10 games of Party Mode.

Please refer to the Introduction for a brief discussion of Party Mode.

Simply complete 10 Party Mode games to pop this trophy. Number of players, difficulty setting, and the number of rounds all do not matter for this trophy. But, if you want the most chances to knock out other trophies while you're grinding out 10 of these Party Mode games, use four players every time and play on Hard. This ensures you take a bunch of pictures (for Supermassive Party ) and gives you chances to earn a good portion of the game-specific trophies.

[top]
Free Play Champion
Play all the Party Games, on all difficulties in Free Play.

Please refer to the Introduction for a brief discussion of Party Mode.

There are nine Party Games, each with a choice between three available difficulty levels (Easy, Normal, Hard). So, you need to play 27 games to pop this trophy.

From the Main Menu, select Solo Play -> Free Play. You can practice all nine Party Games here. Run through all of them, playing each three times (one time on each difficulty), and this trophy will pop.

[top]
Against the Odds
Steal enough stars in the Robber Round to get from last to first place.

Competing in minigames during Party Mode earns you points, in the form of stars. Finishing each round with a higher score earns you more stars, while finishing with lower scores earns you fewer stars. At random intervals, the game will throw Robber Rounds in the mix. In a Robber Round, each player plays one minigame and receives a score. The higher they score, the more stars they will be allowed to steal from a competitor. Each player is given the choice of which competitor to steal stars from.

The first Robber Round usually occurs after the 2nd round of a Party Mode game. At this stage, there will not be a huge difference between the person in 1st place and the person in last place. Simply have the last-place person steal enough stars from the 1st-place person so the person in last before the round winds up in 1st after the round. For example, if the person in 1st has 6 stars and the person in last has 3 stars, have the person in last play well enough in the minigame to be allowed to steal 2 or more stars, then target the leader.

To make this easier, you can play as all competitors and rig the game to give you proper scenarios to make this possible. Also, play on Easy. This way, during the Robber Rounds, the minigames will be simple and you will have a better chance of stealing as many as 5 stars.

[top]
Totally Bonus
Get the bonus item in every Party game.

While there are nine Party Games, only seven of them offer bonus items. "Getting" a bonus item typically involves capitalizing on the once-per-game situation where a gold something (insect, ghost, chick, what-have-you) appears on the screen for you to interact with. Getting the bonus item on a minigame gives you extra points, and if you can get a bonus item in each of the minigames, you can get this trophy! The games below have bonus items:
  • Fish Poppin' - Pop the golden, shining fish that appears halfway through the game.
  • Bug Swattin' - Swat the gold insect that flies across the screen halfway through the game.
  • Ghost Lightin' - Shine your light (press the trigger) on the gold ghost that flies across the screen halfway through the game.
  • Chick Savin' - Fan the golden chick that appears halfway through the game into a basket of safety.
  • Parachuter Rescuin' - Fan the golden paratrooper that appears halfway through the game onto a raft of safety.
  • Robot Zappin' - Zap the golden flying saucer that appears halfway through the game, at the top-left of the screen.
  • Helicopter Rescuin' - Fly over and transport the golden would-be Godzilla victim to the helipad of safety.

Supermassive Party
Take 100 different player portrait photos.

This game makes good use of the PS Eye Camera technology. Before you begin a game in any mode, you'll be asked to pose for a photo. If you play a party game with four people, you'll take four photos. If you play a Solo game, you'll take one photo.

Since you'll have to play a variety of modes, some of them several times while working on other trophies, save this trophy for last. To get more photos taken more quickly, always play Party Mode with four players, even if you control all four of them.

If this is the last trophy you need, just set up a four-player game, start the first round, quit, and repeat until this trophy pops.

Party Popper
Earn 20 stars in a single Party session.

Please refer to the Introduction for a brief discussion of Party Mode.

One player must have at least 20 stars at one time during Party Mode for you to earn this trophy. You can play with any number of players on any difficulty, and you can even play any length of game, but 10 round games give you the best chance at accumulating 20+ stars for one player. Once one of the competitors (doesn't matter which one) has 20+ stars, this trophy will pop.

If you're struggling with this for some reason, just play as all the competitors and rig the game so the same competitor wins every round.

[top]
Bonus King!
Get every bonus object within a single Party Mode play session.

Please refer to the Introduction for a brief discussion of Party Mode.

During any Party Mode game, a subset of the games you compete in will offer bonus items. For example, if you play a 5-round Party Mode game and two of the games offer bonus items, one competitor needs to earn the bonus item in each of those games to pop this trophy.

This trophy DOES NOT require you to play a 10-round game and hope that the seven games with bonus items appear, or anything crazy like that. It simply means that one (or more) competitors earns all bonus items available in that particular instance of Party Mode.

[top]
Serious Survivor
Survive for 2 minutes.

Please refer to the Introduction for a brief discussion of Survival Mode.

Stay alive for two minutes or longer to pop this trophy. Survival Mode games are fast and not that difficult. You are required to play at least 20 Survival Mode games for the Survivalist trophy anyway, so you'll have ample practice time to work towards this relatively simple goal.

[top]
Persistent Partygoer
Survive for 1 minute 30 seconds.

Please refer to the Introduction for a brief discussion of Survival Mode.

Stay alive for one minute and thirty seconds or longer to pop this trophy. Survival Mode games are fast and not that difficult. You are required to play at least 20 Survival Mode games for the Survivalist trophy anyway, so you'll have ample practice time to work towards this relatively simple goal.

[top]
Party Star
Earn 15 stars in a single Party session.

Please refer to the Introduction for a brief discussion of Party Mode.

One player must have at least 15 stars at one time during Party Mode for you to earn this trophy. You can play with any number of players on any difficulty, and you can even play any length of game, but 10 round games give you the best chance at accumulating 15+ stars for one player. Once one of the competitors (doesn't matter which one) has 15+ stars, this trophy will pop.

If you're struggling with this for some reason, just play as all the competitors and rig the game so the same competitor wins every round.

Enduring Entrant
Survive for 1 minute.

Please refer to the Introduction for a brief discussion of Survival Mode.

Stay alive for one minute or longer to pop this trophy. Survival Mode games are fast and not that difficult. You are required to play at least 20 Survival Mode games for the Survivalist trophy anyway, so you'll have ample practice time to work towards this relatively simple goal.

[top]
Survival Starter
Survive for 30 seconds.

Please refer to the Introduction for a brief discussion of Survival Mode.

Stay alive for thirty seconds or longer to pop this trophy. Survival Mode games are fast and not that difficult. You are required to play at least 20 Survival Mode games for the Survivalist trophy anyway, so you'll have ample practice time to work towards this relatively simple goal.

To give you an idea of how easy this is, if you start a Survival Game and immediately set the controller down on the table (earning no points on any of the games), you'll last for 24-25 seconds. So as long as you try at least a little bit, you can survive for longer than 30 seconds.

[top]
Big Burglar
Steal 5 stars in one turn in the Robber Round.

Simply do well enough on the minigame to be permitted to steal 5 stars. Then, target somebody with 5 or more stars, and BAM this trophy pops.

To make this easier, you can play as all competitors and rig the game to give you proper scenarios to make this possible. Also, play on Easy. This way, during the Robber Rounds, the minigames will be simple and you will have a better chance of stealing as many as 5 stars.

The Supermassive Team
View the credits.

Since there is no story mode or single-player campaign, you will not be forced to watch the credits at any point. Instead, you must voluntarily search for and find and watch the credits. Or at least, start watching, wait for the trophy to pop, and then quit.

From the Main Menu, choose Options, then choose Credits. Shortly after the credits start rolling, this trophy will pop and you are free to quit out and do something else.

[top]
Christmas Party
Play a game of Start the Party!™ (any game mode) on Christmas Day.

You can either actually wait for the 25th of December, or you can manually change the date of your PS3, then re-start the game and fire up a game of any mode (Group or Solo, Party or Survival) to pop this trophy. Just play the game while your PS3's clock says it's December the 25th to pop this trophy.

[top]
Midnight Party
Play a game of Start the Party!™ (any game mode) between 12 o'clock and 1 o'clock at night.

You can either actually wait for the midnight hour some night, or you can manually change the date of your PS3, then re-start the game and fire up a game of any mode (Group or Solo, Party or Survival) to pop this trophy. Just play the game while your PS3's clock says it's between 12:00:00am and 12:59:59am to pop this trophy.

[top]
Empty Pockets
Steal the last star from someone in the Robber Round, reducing their star count to 0.

Take control of all available competitors and target the person with the lowest score. Do well on the minigames and steal as many stars as you can from your chosen victim. If you can get them to a total of zero stars, this trophy will pop!

To make this easier, you can play as all competitors and rig the game to give you proper scenarios to make this possible. Also, play on Easy. This way, during the Robber Rounds, the minigames will be simple and you will have a better chance of stealing as many as 5 stars.

[top]
Pop Tart
Pop a color chain of 20+ fish.

It is best to attempt this trophy in Free Play, on Easy.

In this game, your Move controller becomes a harpoon that you use to pop spherical, fish-shaped balloons that float from the bottom of the screen to the top. To create a color chain, pop several balloons of the same color consecutively. For this trophy, go for 20 or more of one color in a row, without hitting any other colors, or the bombs, OR THE BONUS FISH, and you'll pop this trophy.

[top]
Fan-tastic
Waft 12 paratroopers to safety.

It is best to attempt this trophy in Free Play, on Hard.

In this game, your Move controller becomes a big fan that you use to waft (or fan) paratroopers onto life rafts. The most effective method is to stay in the center of the screen and waft using the sides of the fan. You don't have to point the fan at the paratroopers and wave it to move the air, and you'd be hopping around a lot that way, so just stay in the middle.

Watch out for the bombs! They nearly always land on a raft, obliterating it and it's passengers. Just blow the bombs off-screen to get rid of them, then go back to saving the paratroopers. Get 12 or more of the little guys onto rafts in one game in order to pop this trophy.

[top]
S.W.A.T. Team
Swat 50 bugs in one game.

It is best to attempt this trophy in Free Play, on Normal or Hard.

In this game, your Move controller becomes a flyswatter. Smack all the bugs that are NOT BIG AND RED. On Easy, fewer big red bugs (bomb bugs) get in your way, but not enough normal bugs (your targets) fly onto the screen. Play on Normal or Hard and swat 50 bugs before the time runs out to pop this trophy.

[top]
Air Ambulance
Rescue 3 people just before the monster eats them.

It is best to attempt this trophy in Free Play, on Hard.

In this game, your Move controller becomes a rescue helicopter. Your goal is to fly over to the citizens, drop down so the ladder hits them in the face (so they grab onto the ladder), then fly them to the helipad on the right-hand side of the screen. Set them down on the ground to get them safety, then go back for more.

Watch closely as the Godzilla moster in the background, behind the city paces back and forth. He will eventually roar near one of the citizens. When he does, fly over there and hover above the citizen. The monster will come to the foreground and roar again. As soon as he starts to roar for the second time (for the first time while he's in the foreground), or maybe even a little bit before, drop down and snatch the citizen. If you did it right, you'll hear the monster roar, then the citizen will grab on, then the monster will sigh and shake his head. Get that citizen to safety, then repeat this process. Save three or more citizens using this "close call" method, all in one game, to pop this trophy.

[top]
'I ain't afraid of no ghosts!'
Shoot down 6 ghosts on their way to scaring you.

It is best to attempt this trophy in Free Play, on Normal or Hard.

In this game, your Move controller becomes a flashlight that you use to scare away ghosts flying around on the screen. Some of the ghosts fly right from one side of the screen to the other while others fly to the middle (roughly) of the screen, turn, and come straight at you. Playing on Normal and Hard sends the most ghosts directly at you, but requires quick reflexes. Avoid the strategy of just shooting everything you see. Instead, watch for ghosts that come directly at you and quickly snap them up. Shoot six ghosts before the time runs out to pop this trophy.

[top]
Awesome Artist
Use 5 litres of paint within the templates in one game.

It is best to attempt this trophy in Free Play, on any difficulty.

In this game, your Move controller becomes a paintbrush that you use to paint gray objects as they appear on the screen. Just hold the trigger down for the entire game and stay in the lines, going over the same area multiple times if necessary and you'll have used 5 liters of paint in no time, popping this trophy.

[top]
Piñata Basher
Smash a Piñata in less than 5 seconds.

The Pinata-Bashing game only appears in Party Mode and Survival Mode, not Free Play.

In this game, your Move controller becomes a baseball bat you'll use to smash a pinata on the screen. Once the game starts, MOVE THE CONTROLLER FRANTICALLY UP AND DOWN to smash up the pinata AS FAST AS YOU CAN. Completely smash the pinata and reveal the candy in less than five seconds to pop this trophy.

If you're struggling, play on Easy. On Normal and Hard, the pinata needs a lot more whacks to completely disintegrate. So play on Easy.

[top]
Short Circuit
Zap 15+ robots in one game.

It is best to attempt this trophy in Free Play, on Hard.

In this game, your Move controller becomes a tazer that you use to fend off oncoming, evil robots. Each robot has a red bullseye on his stomach, inside his TV. His TV shows a live video feed of you. Compare what you see in a robot's TV/stomach to what you know of your own position, then move the tazer into his bullseye and squeeze the trigger. You'll know you stunned him properly when his screen fills with static. You need to do this to 15+ robots in one game to pop this trophy.

To have chances at enough robots, you need to play on Hard. The drawback is they start manipulating the orientation of the screen on their stomachs. The video you see may be mirrored, flipped horizontally or rotated 90 degrees clockwise or counterclockwise. This can be tricky. Ideally, you'll be able to try one direction with the controller, then learn how to move it into the bullseye fast. Practice makes perfect!

[top]
Dye-Hard
Use 5 litres of hair dye in one game.

It is best to attempt this trophy in Free Play, on Hard.

In this game, your Move controller becomes both an electric shaver and an airbrush. First you will cut the customer's hair so it matches their picture. Then you will dye their hair red, again ensuring to style it like they show in their picture. On Easy, you don't even get to dye customer's hair. On Normal, some customers want their hair dyed, but not enough. On Hard, nearly every customer wants their hair dyed, but you have to move fast! Cut their hair quickly (but make sure not to cut the dark purple sections) so you can begin dying. When you get to use the dye, spray it only on the areas that call for it, but just keep holding the trigger long after and spray their hair (in the appropriate area) as much as you possibly can! Do this for 5-6 customers and that should count as 5 litres, popping you this trophy.

[top]
Chick Protector
Save 30+ chicks in one game.

It is best to attempt this trophy in Free Play, on Hard.

In this game, your Move controller becomes a fan that you use to waft falling chicks into nests on either side of the screen. Popping this trophy is a bit of a challenge. First, know that on Easy and Normal, fewer than 30 chicks in total fall from the top of the screen, so earning this trophy is only possible on Hard. Saving 30 chicks on Hard is a challenge. You must be very quick and skilled with the controller.

The best strategy is to hold the trigger the entire time and only focus on one basket at a time. Each basket can only hold three chicks, so once you waft the third chick into the basket, rotate the controller the other way and direct the chicks into the other basket. It's better to avoid constantly switching back and forth.

Also, scoot closer to the camera to enlarge your fan. This allows you to make smaller adjustments while saving the chicks.

In the last ten seconds of the game, the chicks fall extremely frequently, so you will also need a bit of luck to pop this trophy. Put 30 or more chicks in baskets before the time is up to pop this trophy.

[top]
Doodlebug
Draw on a player’s face.

You only have the chance to re-record someone's name during the Joker Round, which only appears during Party Mode.

You will encounter several joker rounds while you're working on the Party Mode trophies. During the Joker Round, one of two things can happen: either one player will re-record another player's name, or one player will draw on another player's photo. There is no wrong way to do these things, unless you don't do them at all. To pop this trophy, just draw something on someone's photo and watch your trophy ding.

Radical Remix
Re-record someone's name.

You only have the chance to re-record someone's name during the Joker Round, which only appears during Party Mode.

There is no wrong way to do these things, unless you don't do them at all. To pop this trophy, just mutter something into the microphone to re-record someone's name and watch your trophy ding.

Candy Crazy
Survive 20 seconds with a perfect lolly.

Three Strikes Rounds rarely appear, so make the most of them when they do! Three Strikes Rounds only appear in Party Mode.

Note that Three Strikes Rounds appear at random. In any Party Mode game, whether it's 5, 8, or 10 rounds in length, you will get at most ONE Three Strikes Round. Sometimes you won't even get one, even in a 10-round game. So the best strategy is to only play 5-round games. This is because playing 8 and 10 round games does NOT improve your chances of getting a Three Strikes Round and 5-round games waste the least amount of time.

In the "Keep the Bees away from the Lollipop" game, your Move controller is the lollipop. Play on Easy and move far away from the camera until the game complains, then move up just enough to make it stop complaining. Now you have a smaller lolly. The game ends after 20 seconds, so your goal is to keep the bees from destroying the lolly for the entire game. The patterns of the bees' movements are random, so some games are harder and some games are easier. Just keep your lolly as far from the bees as you can, but be careful not to stray too far from the center of the screen. If you're near the edge of the screen, the bees can sneak up on you from off-screen and get to your lolly before you can react. Make it through this game without losing three strikes and this trophy will pop!

Let Sleeping Chicks Lie
Sshhh, don't disturb the chick!

The 'Save the Chick from the Cat Puppet' game only appears in Party Mode and Survival Mode, not Free Play.

In this game, your Move controller becomes a big handbell that you use to wake up the baby chick sleeping on his pedestal before the cat-puppet eats him.

To get this trophy though, DON'T DO ANYTHING. Don't shake the controller at all. Let the cat creep up and pounce on the chick. As sad as it is, you'll get a trophy for it, so cheer up.

Eagle Eye
Find the 5 bugs in less than 5 seconds.

The Bug-Finding game only appears in Party Mode and Survival Mode, not Free Play.

In this game, your Move controller becomes a big magnifying glass that you use to spot bugs on the screen. This can be a little tricky as you have to rotate the controller when moving it around the screen to keep the magnifying glass parallel to the screen. Find a bug and magnify it in the center of the glass to "find" it. Find five bugs in less than five seconds to pop this trophy.

You pretty much have to do this one on Hard, as you'll rarely encounter 5 bugs on Easy or Normal, and when you do, it'll be in Time Attack mode where you don't have much time. This game takes a little practice so, be quick and accurate!

Peace-Lover
Surrender to 8 angry mobsters.

The 'I Surrender' game only appears in Party Mode and Survival Mode, not Free Play.

In this game, your Move controller becomes a stick with a white flag tied to the end. You "surrender" by moving the controller in quick, medium-sized circles, letting the "angry mobsters" know you "surrender". Wave as fast as you can so none of the mobsters fire their guns at you. Pacify eight mobsters in one game to pop this trophy.

You MUST do this one on Hard as not enough mobsters appear on Easy and Normal. This means you must be VERY FAST at waving that flag!

Mentally Dental
Clean all the crocodile's teeth.

The Crocodile Teeth-Cleaning game only appears in Party Mode and Survival Mode, not Free Play.

In this game, your Move controller becomes a big tooth brush you'll use to brush a crocodile's teeth. Find the teeth that look like they're covered in fresh dog poop and frantically move the brush back and forth over them to clean them. Clean all the teeth before the time runs out to pop this trophy.

If you're struggling, play on Easy as the crocodile will have fewer teeth in need of cleaning.

Rapid Rocker
Completely smash a rock in less than 3 seconds.

The Rock-Smashing game only appears in Party Mode and Survival Mode, not Free Play.

In this game, your Move controller becomes a pick axe you'll use to mine gems out of small boulders on the screen. Once the game starts, MOVE THE CONTROLLER FRANTICALLY UP AND DOWN to smash up the rock AS FAST AS YOU CAN. Completely smash the rock and reveal the gem in less than three seconds to pop this trophy.

If you're struggling, play on Easy. On Normal and Hard, the rock needs a lot more whacks to completely disintegrate. So play on Easy.

Bon Appétit
Munch 5 bugs in one game.

The Bug-Munching game only appears in Party Mode and Survival Mode, not Free Play.

In this game, your Move controller becomes a frog's head on a stick. Move and rotate the stick so the frog is facing one of the flying insects, then pull the trigger to catch the bug with his tongue. Catch five bugs in one game to pop this trophy.

If you're struggling, play on Normal. Easy doesn't give you enough bugs and Hard makes the bugs move too fast, but Normal strikes a good balance between the number of available bugs and how fast they move.

Game Set Match
Match 5 characters in one game.

The Character Matching game only appears in Party Mode and Survival Mode, not Free Play.

In this game, you must orient the Move controller so the object you're holding fits in the outline on the screen. You must twist the controller, move your hand from side to side, and move the controller closer and farther from the camera to find the right position. Match five characters (their orientation is key) in one of these minigames to pop this trophy.

If you're struggling, play on Normal. Hard doesn't give you much time, but Easy doesn't give you many characters. Normal strikes a good balance between available characters and the time you have for each.

Pizza Day
Catch 10 pizza toppings in one game, during a Three Strikes round.

This is because playing 8 and 10 round games does NOT improve your chances of getting a Three Strikes Round and 5-round games waste the least amount of time.

In the Pizza-Topping Catchin' game, your Move controller becomes a pizza in need of toppings. Toppings fall from the top of the screen. Catch them by moving the pizza under them so they land on the pizza. To make this easier, play on Easy and scoot closer to the camera to make your pizza larger. Be careful to catch every topping you see as you need to catch 10 before you miss three in order to pop this trophy!

Brilliant Bouncer
Bounce an object 10 times without dropping it, during a Three Strikes round.

This trophy is somewhat glitchy.

Three Strikes Rounds rarely appear, so make the most of them when they do! Three Strikes Rounds only appear in Party Mode.

In the Ball-Bouncing and Scoring game, your Move controller becomes a tennis racket that you'll use to smack falling tennis balls, basketballs, soccer balls, and even bowling balls into basketball hoops on either or both sides of the screen.

While the description says to bounce "an" (implying ONE) object 10 times before dropping it, gamers have reported earning this trophy by doing something else. While "one object, ten bounces" method may work, it seems a better strategy is to bounce every object you see as much as you can without scoring and without dropping them, in a sort-of juggling fashion. This is tremendously difficult.

*NOTE* I thought I was being clever when I decided to use the racket to deaden the bounce of the ball so that it would take much quicker, smaller jumps. This DOES NOT WORK. Twice I counted 15 bounces with one ball and I did not get the trophy. In response, on my next attempt, I gave emphatic whacks with the racket and tried to hit everything I possibly could. I have no idea how many bounces in a row I got, but I know that at one point I had three balls on the bouncing all over the place, off my racket and into each other, and by some miracle the trophy popped.

The youtube video below demonstrates one method of earning the trophy. Curiously, it seems that this gamer only achieves 8 bounces total, even though he juggles two balls for a bit before failing out...yet he earns this trophy. So the bottom line is JUST KEEP TRYING AND BOUNCE EVERYTHING and hopefully this trophy will pop sooner rather than later.

Swashbuckler
Slice 40 pieces of fruit during a Three Strikes Round.

Three Strikes Rounds rarely appear, so make the most of them when they do! Three Strikes Rounds only appear in Party Mode.

In the Fruit Slicing game, your Move motion controller becomes a big sword that you use to dice up some fruit. Be quick though as you get one strike for each piece of fruit that you miss. The best strategy here is to move much closer to the camera, significantly increasing the size of your sword. In addition, stand to the right of left of the camera so your blade is parallel to the screen, not orthogonal to it.

The youtube video below demonstrates this method of earning the trophy. Get close, turn to the side, and MOVE THAT BLADE AS FAST AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN to maximize your chances of earning this trophy. Also, play on Hard as more fruit is thrown at you, giving you a better chance of dicing 40 objects or more.

Molemania
Hit 8 moles in a single game.

The Mole-Whacking game only appears in Party Mode and Survival Mode, not Free Play.

When this game appears in Party Mode, act fast and whack as many moles as you can! Scoot closer to the camera to make your mallet larger. If you're struggling with this, restart Party Mode and set your character (or all of them) to the Easy difficulty setting. Whack 8 or more moles in one game to pop this trophy.
