[top]Tips & Strategies

  • The game is pretty straight forward, but it will take a while for the All I can really say is practice and look on videos on Youtube and on several credible sites, particularly http://www.eventhubs.com/ If you're not experienced in fighters, chances are you'll need to invest several hours into this game just to get the basics down.


[top]Roadmap

  • Beat arcade mode with all characters (including DLC if you have it).
  • Unless you're pretty decent at fighting games, I would recommend for you to find a buddy or two. The online trophies can be a pain because you'll need to do thing such as winning 100 matches and play against all characters in the game.
  • Once you beat the game with everyone offline and do all of the online trophies, you'll accumulate the vast majority of the trophies in the game. If not, you can do clean up for trophies such as Mega Buster
  • The last step and likely the hardest one is to complete all missions (96% with DLC). This time around the missions are a little tougher and you have to do more of them as well complete all of them if you don't have the DLC. The characters' missions from the original game aren't the same either and some even have a few more moves. So if you had trouble with the original then expect worse on this version.   • After all of this, you should have the platinum. If not, then just simply clean up

The Ultimate
Obtain all Trophies.

Like any other game with a platinum, get all other trophies for this one to unlock.

Waiting for the Trade
View all endings in Arcade mode.

This trophy is tedious and will take a bit, but it's still pretty easy. You're going to have to play arcade mode 49 (51/DLC), beating Galactus with everyone and purposely losing to Galactus. You have a team of three fighters, but the you'll only unlock the ending with the character you beat Galactus with. In the previous version, you needed to lose to Galactus in order to get the ending trophy. In this version, you don't, but you still need to do so in order to get the Comic Collector . This also applies for the DLC. All you have to do is just set the game on very easy and the match to 30 seconds and you should get the endings in a few hours.

The Best There Is
Beat Arcade mode on the hardest difficulty.

I would recommend to have your settings on very hard (obviously) and the time to 30 seconds and just try to do chip damage if you're not good at the game. My personal team is Hulk, Doctor Doom, and Dante. The trophy is simple. It's just a matter of finding the right team for you and beating the A.I.

Beat Arcade mode without using any continues.

This trophy is pretty easy to do. If you're having trouble, just set the game to an easier level and you'll get this trophy with no problems.

The Points Do Matter
Earn 400,000 points in Arcade mode.

Earn 500,000 points in Arcade mode.

While you play arcade mode, you'll likely not get 500K during arcade mode. You need to make sure when you start on arcade you need to make sure your settings are as follows:

Difficulty: on Easy at least
Time: Infinite
Damage: Lowest

You can do it on the easiest level, but you want the A.I. to be on easy because you need to have the computer to attack you at least. Your can choose any team you want, but I would recommend to have a character that can build your meter up. Choose Morrigan, Amaterasu, or Frank West (all characters with the Y-assist) and constantly use their assist to build up your meter. Now when you chose your team, you're gonna wait to play defense. Pretty much run away from your opponent purposely for a few minutes. When your opponent attacks you, use advanced guards as often as possible. You also don't want to damage your opponent too much. So perform snapbacks as often as possible. You want to perform all aspects, such as basic defense and offense. I'll make a video of how it should be done.

This version isn't as forgiving as the previous one. You'll need to do all missions with everybody, unless you have the DLC. Even with it you'll still need to do 96% of them. The characters from the original version have totally different missions also and overall they're slightly harder. Land an Uncanny Combo. (Arcade/online only)

A viewtiful combo is when you do at least a 31 hit combo. An uncanny combo is 91+ hits. There are several ways to do a combo with several hits. The easiest way to do it is by doing Super Skrull's Inferno attack and rapidly tap buttons while he's doing the move. If done right, you should have 99 hits. I will show a video in the future hopefully.

Mega Buster
Use 1,000 Hyper Combo Gauge bars. (Arcade/online only)

These are the ways to use a hyper bar:

Using hyper specials (1-3 bars)
Snap Backs (1 bar)
Crossover Counter (1 bar)
Crossover Combination Attacks (2-3 bars)

There is much more work to do as trophies are concerned than in the previous version. You'll get to 1000 bars in a matter of time by just simply playing the game.

Block 100 times. (Arcade/Online only)

This is a real easy trophy to get. Just block 100 times to get the trophy. You should get 100 blocks in a few matches. Not too difficult to get.

Advancing Guardian
Perform 100 Advancing Guards. (Arcade/Online only)

To perform an advance guard, press two attack buttons ( or ) at the same time while guarding. It's best to go for advanced guards while your opponent is doing a hyper combo. You can get several of them by massing the attack buttons and blocking. Some moves for go for the guards are Iron Man's 'Proton Cannon' or Ryu's 'Shinku-Hadoken.'

A Friend in Need
Perform 100 Crossover Assists. (Arcade/Online only)

To do an assist, press or to have your partner come out and do an attack. You need to do this 100 times over the matches you play. Pretty easy to get though.

First Strike
Land 50 First Attacks. (Arcade/Online only)

This trophy you'll get naturally by playing. Just hit your opponent first 50 times.

Savage Playing
Perform 50 Snap Backs. (Arcade/Online only)

To perform a snapback, press + or When done right, an orange flash will show and your partner will hit your opponent causing him/her to switch his character. It takes 1 meter bar to do one. Just perform 50 of them in your matches and the trophy will pop up.

Quick Change-Up
Perform 50 Crossover Counters. (Arcade/Online only)

To do a crossover counter, hit + or while you're blocking. If done right, you will switch characters on your team. Trying to do these by simply playing is a little hard to do. So if you have trouble, you can always have a partner to help. Perform 50 of them and you get the trophy.

Perfect X-ample
Use X-Factor 50 times. (Arcade/Online only)

To use x-factor, press and at the same time. You character will glow red.Just use it 50 times in your matches you play.

Land 50 Team Aerial Combos. (Arcade/Online only)

To start a basic aerial combo, press then jump in the air and go to town on your opponent. To achieve a team aerial combo, however, you must press any direction and at the same time. Your teammate should come out and continue the combo. Do this 50 times and the trophy will pop up.

Mighty Teamwork
Land 30 Team Aerial Counters. (Arcade/Online only)

If you remember from the previous version, you would have to press and any direction, assuming your opponent was going to continue a team aerial combo. Now this time it's easier to guess what direction your opponent pressed thanks to him or her flashing a color. If your opponent flashes red, hit up+, green is left/right+, blue is down+ Do this 30 times in matches and you'll get the trophy. You can also get this with a boosting partner, if you're having trouble.

Big Bang Theory
Perform 30 Hyper Combo Finishes. (Arcade/online only)

A real simple thing to do. All you have to do is finish your finish the match with a hyper combo 30 times. You'll need at least one meter bar. You can check your status by pressing

Hard Corps
Perform 30 Crossover Combination Finishes. (Arcade/online only)

The same exact thing as a hyper finish. Only this time it's you and your teammate(s) finishing the match with a hyper combo. You'll need at least 2 bar meters and have one of your teammates still alive. Once you have enough meter, simply press and depending on you team and assists you can have a combo that hits well into the 100s.

This will come naturally overtime as you're playing any offline mode, in training, mission (which you'll likely spend most of your time), and offline mode will add to your time. To check the status of your time, just simply press The trophy will pop up as soon as you hit 30 hours. Pretty easy to do.

Play in Online Mode for over 30 hours.

If you do this by playing just playing the game online, you're likely going to be playing several hundred matches because matches will last very short and if you happen to go against someone real good maybe as quick as ten seconds. The quickest way to accumulate 30 hours is use the 'turbo' method, meaning if you have any controller with a turbo (i.e. an arcade stick), you can set up a lobby with a partner and have your turbo on a leave on your PS3 overnight and rack up time that way. You won't hit each other and the games will be draws. Each match will last around 3 minutes or so. Once 30 hours hit, the trophy pops up.

This is an easy trophy to achieve. Just play in any kind of online match and you'll get this trophy. Pretty simple.

This is pretty long, but all you have to do is play 300 matches online. It doesn't matter if they're ranked or not.

Battle against all characters online.

There are are total of 48 characters (50w/DLC). You don't need the DLC for this trophy. You likely won't get the trophy by playing online either as most folks choose the same characters more or less. You can set up a player match with a friend and each of you will only have to play 16 matches, choosing three different characters each match. This will probably take 15 minutes to do with a partner.

Win without calling your partners or switching out in an online match.

This is another relatively easy trophy to do with a partner. Just don't press any of the shoulder buttons (assuming you play with a DS3) and win an online match.

Win without blocking in an online match.

Very simple to do with a partner. Just keep attacking and don't block to win the match.

Surpass the rank of Fighter.

This will be one of the harder trophies to obtain. If you're not slightly decent in this series, you're likely going to take a real long time to get 100 ranked wins. You boost your wins, if you're serious having problems getting wins, however. It will be more tedious, but at least it works. You or your boosting partner can create a ranked lobby and try to find each that way. If you and your partner don't match up with each other, you can always back out of the room and make another room. You can also go for the Noble Effort as well. Participate in an 8 player Lobby online.

This is a simple trophy to get and you don't even have to play in a match for it. All you need to do is be in an 8-player lobby and make sure there are 8 total players in it. Once 8 people are in, the trophy pops up shortly after that.

Dominator
Collect 100 titles.

This may seem like a lot of titles, but it's really not hard to obtain titles. It is nowhere as tedious as the SF4 series as far as getting titles goes. You get them by doing things such as doing 5 missions with a character, beating arcade mode, or playing x-amount of times with a character. To check your status on how many titles you have, press then on the main menu.

Earn 5,000 Player Points (PP).

It takes a while to get to 100K player points, but you will get points by playing the game. You will likely get the bulk of your points while you're beating arcade mode with everybody. Every time you beat arcade, you'll gather a few thousand points each time. When you play online matches, you'll get a few hundred each time, win or lose. So just continue to play the game and the trophy will eventually pop up. You can check your status by pressing at the main menu.

Unlock all items in the Gallery.

Just follow the same methods as Waiting For the Trade and you will have the trophy in a few hours.

Passport to Beatdown Country
Fight in all of the stages.

There are a total of 18 stages in the game. All you need to do is complete a match in all stages to get the trophy. Not complicated to do.
