[top]Introduction

"They shall be pure of heart and strong of body, unsullied by doubt and untainted by self-aggrandizement. They will be bright stars in the firmament of battle. Angels of death whose swift wings bring extermination to the enemies of man. So it shall be for a thousand times a thousand years, unto the end of eternity and the extinction of mortal flesh."

--Roboute Guilliman, (Ultramarines Codex 2nd edition)

Welcome to the Warhammer 40,000 universe. You are a Space Marine, bred to fight to the last breath for the Holy Emperor and for the Imperium of Man. Everywhere the Space Marine looks there are constant threats to the sanctity of the Imperium that must be purged without question or hesitation. The story of Captain Titus, 2nd Company Commander Captain with the Ultramarine Chapter, is no different. Forge World Graia has been invaded by the Ork and their war cry WAAAAAAARRRGGGHHHHH!. Graia is an important planet to the Imperium mostly in part to its manufacturing capabilities and most importantly the Titan Class weapons. Captain Titus and his squad are the spearhead of the liberation offensive. It is his job to retake the orbital gun from the Ork and liberate the planet. He only has one mantra:

"Burn the heretic. Kill the mutant. Purge the unclean."

[top]Boosting Method

Boosting Method (Private Match):
  1. Have 1-3 partners, and great a private match
  2. Select the following load out
    • Game Type: Seize Ground
    • Map: Manufactorum
    • Respawn Time: Instant
    • Shield: None
    • Health: Quarter

  3. Now have the "killer" be on the Chaos Team, everyone else is a Space Marine
  4. The killer will run over to the Space Marine spawn point and will kill any Space Marine (once spawned just exit left) that pops out.
Using this method you will rack up a lot of kills quickly and can work on your "multi-kills" and "killstreaks". Just remember to help other people out. Once you have your 3 kills for killstreaks the kiiller needs to lob a grenade and die then run back over.

If you are the Space Marine and the killer is doing killstreaks I suggest being the Assault Marine because you can jump closer to the killer to create a quick 3 kills so the killer can die and then respawn and keep the boosting session quick.

[top]Roadmap

Part One: Single Player on Hard
Play the single player on Hard while working on Librarian of Macragge. Hard is not difficult but I suggest staying at a distance when taking on the Ork. Grenades are a life saver. If you are running low on Bolter ammo use the Bolter Pistol, it has unlimited ammo. I highly suggest NOT barging into a melee fight until the numbers have been thinned or you are desperate for health. Captain Titus is an effective dodge roller, use that to your advantage. When taking on the more advanced Ork or Chaos Marines I suggest aiming from a corner that way you maintain your shield and reduce the enemies' numbers.

Part Two: Clean Up Single Player
I suggest cleaning up the rest of the single player trophies now. (Kills, not dying, multi-kills). All of these can be done on easy. I suggest taking each trophy one at a time because it does not take more than 10-15 minutes per trophy using my method and will save you a lot of headaches in the long run.

Part Three: Multiplayer
Multiplayer is a long drawn out grind and will take a good, dedicated boosting group. You will need 2 other people on top of you for some of the weapons. Example the Vengeance Launcher, you need to score multiple "multi-kills' (2 or more enemies killed at once). Luckily you can check your progress under Multiplayer--->Challenges and start looking. I'll detail each weapons' challenge under Keeper of the Armory.

Part Four: True Son of the Emperor
By now you should have around 7,500 kills. Now just 32,500 more kills to go. Luckily the DLC "Exterimentus" helps greatly for this as you can net 1000+ kills per 13 minute run. I suggest writing down how many kills you earned during each run so you can maintain an accurate record. REMEMBER DO NOT EVER RESTART THE ROUND, IT WILL NOT COUNT! IF YOU DIE EXIT OUT TO THE MENU THEN START A NEW GAME!!!!!

Trophy Collection Complete
Collect all of the Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine trophies.

Congrats on earning this Platinum, it is one of the harder ones out there and taking the time to boost all of the weapons has certainly earned you a badge of Honor SpaceMarine.

[top]
The Might of the Righteous
Kill 100 enemies.

Story Related and Unmissable!

Captain Titus will have killed 100 Orc by the time Chapter 3 has begun. Practice the different methods of killing to discover the most efficient way of taking down the Horde. Headshots work well and the Chainsword should only be used if you are overrun and will not accept retreat.

[top]
Success is Measured in Blood
Kill 500 enemies using Melee weapons.

Here are the melee weapons you will be using in Space Marine:

1. Combat Knife - standard combat knife all Space Marines carry
2. Chainsword - a mechanized sword with chainsaw teeth, favored among Sergeants and Fast Melee Troopers
3. Power Axe - blessed by the Chapter's Librarian or Tech Priests of Mars, the Power Axe will decimate any foes in mere seconds. Great for taking down a Chaos Marines' shield
4. Thunderhammer - a Chapter relic blessed by the Emperor himself. Will defeat any enemy, bless his name for bestowing upon yourself this holy weapon, honor his blessing by spilling the blood of thine enemy

Use any combination of the 4 above mentioned weapons to kill 500 Orks/Chaos Marines. Will come naturally, if you do not have this by the end of your playthrough you can earn it in multiplayer.

[top]
Angle of Death
Kill 500 enemies using Ranged weapons.

The following weapons are "Ranged Weapons"
  1. Bolt Pistol
  2. Plasma Pistol
  3. Bolter
  4. Plasma Gun
  5. Plasma Cannon
  6. Stalker Bolter
  7. Storm Bolter
  8. Lascannon
  9. Vengeance Launcher
Use any of the above mentioned weapons to kill 500 enemies and you will earn this trophy.

[top]
Visible, Violent Death
Kill 2500 enemies.

Each playthrough will only net around 1,500 kills so luckily this trophy can be earned in any game mode. But if you decided to play on Easy first then Hard you will earn this right near Chapter 14 of your Hard playthrough.

[top]
Firepower
Kill 250 enemies using Exotic weapons.

The following weapons are considered "Exotic":
  1. Heavy Bolter - on a tripod in Chapter 2 (great place to grind out some kills)
  2. Plasma Cannon - Chapter 1 on a tripod when taking down the Ork assault
  3. Autocannon - Chapter 14 after the cut scene grab it and unload on the Chaos menace
  4. Vengeance Launcher
  5. Any plasma weapons.
Can be easily earned by farming in Chapter 2 or Chapter 14.

[top]
The Bigger They Are...
Kill 25 Ork Nobs.

Ork Nobz are the more advanced Orks which carry large melee weapons (axe, sword) or ranged weapons (bolters, rocket launcher). These Orks (once severely weakened) require Captain Titus to engage the Ork with . Ork Nobz are the red melee version and Shoota Nobz are the yellow ranged weapon version. Do not worry too much about farming this as there will be plenty of them in the campaign and also Exterimentus.

[top]
Not So Tough
Kill 10 'Ard Boyz.

These are the 'Ard Boyz, the obvious feature is the annoying shield they carry. Best method to take them down is to keep back rolling, isolating them from a group, and using grenades wound them and follow up with melee strikes. Chapters 6 and 7 are great places to find these guys.

[top]
Die, Heretics
Kill 50 Chaos Space Marines.

Chaos Marines are Space Marines who have rejected the Holy Emperor and have accepted the ways of Chaos. Chaos Marines are almost the same as Space Marines but there are some features to tell the two apart. If you notice purple eyes, anarchistic symbols, and the fact it's not blue then return fire. Best way to farm this trophy early is Chapter 14. You will fight around 11 Chaos Marines.

[top]
Glorious Slaughter
Kill 75 enemies using Executions.

The primary healing method of the game is the executions. First Captain Titus must first stun the enemy using and once the purple aura and is over their heads press it and Captain Titus will regain a great portion of health. BE CAREFUL!!!! Captain Titus is exposed while performing executions so wait until there are only 1-2 enemies left. Gretchins (the smallest Ork that travels in packs) are great for regaining health just press . Performing 75 executions is easy especially on Hard because you will need to be regaining health constantly.

[top]
Put Them Down
Get 100 Headshots.

Luckily for Captain Titus the Ork has a large head and the Stalker Bolter is designed for this very thing. Even the Bolter Pistol and Bolter are accurate to pull this off. Captain Titus will know when a headshot is scored when the Bolter round strikes the Ork's head and it explodes (the animation is amazing, trust me). Practice on getting those headshots because Captain Titus can thin an entire WAAAAARRRGGGHHH!!! charge with a few headshots. The Orks will actually retreat giving Captain Titus the advantage of furthering his position.

[top]
Master of the Clean Kill
Get 250 Headshots.

Same as above:

Luckily for Captain Titus the Ork has a large head and the Stalker Bolter is designed for this very thing. Even the Bolter Pistol and Bolter are accurate to pull this off. Captain Titus will know when a headshot is scored when the Bolter round strikes the Ork's head and it explodes (the animation is amazing, trust me). Practice on getting those headshots because Captain Titus can thin an entire WAAAAARRRGGGHHH!!! charge with a few headshots. The Orks will actually retreat giving Captain Titus the advantage of furthering his position.

[top]
Shock & Awe
Kill 150 enemies using the Charge attack.

Only attempt to farm this on Chapter 2 on Easy:

To perform a "charge attack" you must first press for Captain Titus to initiate a sprint, once Captain Titus is full steam ahead press when he approaches a group of Ork and virtually all of them will be wiped out with a special "area of attack" charge. Keep farming this on Chapter 2 and beyond. It's pretty handy tactical wise to Charge Attack and then combat roll backwards to set up a firing line.

[top]
Death from Above
Kill 25 enemies with Ground Pound.

Late in Chapter 2 when you are heading towards the Rok and the Orbital gun an Ultramarines drop pod will have an assault jet pack, thus making Captain Titus an assault marine. An assault marine can jump high in the air to take the high ground to set traps OR (for purposes of this trophy) perform the Ground Pound attack. Press and hold and look down, there will be a yellow target indicator, when you press Captain Titus will become a comet and will slam into whatever is below and around that target indicator. An effective Ground Pound can take down an entire Ork group in one drop and Captain Titus can quickly retreat to the skies and perform another attack.

[top]
The Emperor's Marksman
Kill 10 enemies in a row in a single Ranged Fury activation.

Chapter 3 the Holy Emperor bestows upon Captain Titus another Purity Seal. The Purity Seal allows Captain Titus to enter "Ranged Fury" when the Ultramarine emblem is full. When the emblem is full press and simultaneously then PRESS AND HOLD to aim with your ranged weapon and unleash hell. Remember the only way to fill the emblem is using melee attacks. There are plenty of ways to earn this but I prefer to give you a visual aide. In Chapter 3 when Captain Titus receives the Purity Seal you are near one of the first places to earn this. As you approach the portion of the Orbital Gun where the ammo is fed you will be rushed by 10+ Gretchin and also the exploding pigs. Activate your Ranged Fury and aim for those Gretchin.

[top]
Feel My Wrath
Kill 250 enemies using Melee Fury attacks.

The highlight of the game is this trophy. In Chapter 2 Captain Titus will find the first Purity Seal which unlocks "Melee Fury". The meter is the Ultramarines emblem. The only way to fill it is killing the Emperor's enemies with melee attacks. Once it is filled press and simultaneously to activate Melee fury and using and kill anything that has a green skill. I suggest worrying about this trophy after the Hard Playthrough and farming it on the second portion of Chapter 14. As long as you do not kill the 3 Psykers there will be infinite spawns.

[top]
The Emperor Protects
Complete Part 1 of the game on Hard difficulty in a single session without dying or restarting.

This trophy will take little over a hour to complete and remember the following:
  • Part 1 has Chapters 1, 2, 3, and 4
  • All four chapters must be completed without dying, reloading a checkpoint, and without leaving the game
    • For purposes of this trophy I suggest hunkering down and taking your time. I was able to do it on my 2nd try and I walked slowly and took my time

  • Use ranged weapons only, refrain from melee.
  • Combat rolls are your friend.
  • Remember when taking on the drop ship to cheat cover so the drop ship can not truly target you.
    • Dont forget to take the Plasma Cannon OFF the bipod.

I have included some videos, take a hour and study them. Even then pause the game every 5 minutes and study what it ahead. Credit to hcNameless and Youtube for the 3 videos:

None Can Stand Before You
Complete the entire game on Hard difficulty.

If you've played many FPS and 3rd person shooters Warhammer's difficulty is above that. The reason why is because there is no exact cover system nor any auto regen health. Your shield is your friend. You must complete the entire game on Hard so no chapter select, just start a new game. Here are a few tips:
  • Combat rolling backwards 2-3 times in a roll will create enough distance to keep you safe.
  • Use melee weapons only when you can not escape. Ranged weapons will save you life.
  • Remember when you perform an execution or struggle you are exposed and can be killed during this time.
  • To "cheat cover" hide Captain Titus near a corner of a wall or a bombed out area and from a distance pick off the Orks.
  • When facing Chaos Marines remember they have the same weapons as you and typically they have explosive splash damage. Keep moving.
  • Headshots, headshots, headshots. Orks have big heads and Chaos Marines or Chaos Daemons also have large heads to pick off.
  • Keep a cool head, there are plenty of checkpoints, always use your grenades but be aware. When a grenade come into contact with anything it stops rolling on the spot.

[top]
Nob Down
Win 10 struggles against the Ork Nob.

As stated above the Ork Nobz are the larger, more powerful Orkz. Once you have heavily wounded a Nob he will emit a purple aura and a will appear over his head. Approach the Nob and press to enter a QTE event. The only way to win the QTE event is you press numerous times. Captain Titus will then use whatever melee weapon that is in his hands and destroy the Nob. Do this 9 more times to earn this trophy, but do not worry, there are plenty of Nobz in the game.

[top]
Blast Radius
Multi-kill -- 5 enemies with 1 Frag grenade.

Pretty simple to pull off since Orks fight in groups. The group of Orks that are easily killed by grenades are the annoying Gretchin. When you see a group of five press to throw a frag grenade. I have found a video, this takes place during Chapter 2 when you are about to meet Lt. Mira and you will face your first Ork Nob. When you see the Gretchin run over the embankment charge then, lay a grenade and watch the blood bath.

[top]
Precision Killer
Multi-kill -- 2 enemies with 1 Stalker-Pattern bolter shot.

This one is a doozy. The Stalker Bolter is a Bolter rifle fitted to be sniper rifle. Press and wait for a couple of Orks to line up and fire a round. Bolter rounds are twice the size of .50 caliber shells. One bolter round is the size of a normal humans' arm. Hitting two Gretchens at once is ideal but any smaller Ork will do fine. I suggest aiming for the head because the bullet will pull a JFK style assassination by killing the first one with a headshot and then the round will likely hit the 2nd Ork dead in the chest. Good place is in Chapter 3 when you enter the area where the Orbital Gun is reloading. Once the Orks are dead on the high ground wait until the Gretchin arrive on the ground and aim for your trophy.

[top]
Chain of Death
Multi-kill -- Detonate a chain of 5 consecutive Vengeance Launcher rounds, killing 10 enemies.

Do not worry too much about this trophy because the method to this is easy to pull off especially since we are going to be hunting large groups of Gretchin. In Chapter 3 you will come across a drop pod which houses the Vengeance Launcher. Continue forward until you come across the section in the video. Press to lay down 5 mines on the ground. Move forward and when you see the Gretchin arrive press and hold to make them all blow up simultaneously and earning you a trophy. Credit to CruelTroopOfDoomTV and Youtube.

[top]
Master of Sword and Gun
Complete a Chapter of the single-player campaign using only the Bolt Pistol and Chainsword.

Select Chapter 2 or 3 on easy from Chapter select. Now you can only use the Bolt Pistol (it has infinite ammo) and the Chainsword. Luckily you are given the Chainsword fairly early in the level but you must rely on the Bolter Pistol and your combat rolling. If you use the Combat Knife, Bolter, or any grenade then you negate earning the trophy.

[top]
Burn Them All
Complete a Chapter of the single-player campaign using only plasma weapons.

Few things you can only use the Plasma Pistol or the Plasma Gun. No Bolters, no melee, and no grenades. I suggest doing this on Chapter 14 on easy because it is the shortest BUT you can barely miss as there are limited ammo crates. Let Leandros take out some of the Chaos Marines in the beginning and make sure you take your time with each shot. When the two Daemon Mauls arrive keep moving and running away eventually their focus will go towards Leandros. Now is the time to unload with the Plasma Gun.

[top]
Brute Force...Unleashed
Complete a Chapter of the single-player campaign using only the Vengeance Launcher and Power Axe.

This one is a little tougher than the previous "use X weapons". The Vengeance Launcher against Chaos Marines is a great tool BUT your ammo supply is limited and each shot needs to count. Luckily you are allowed to use the Power Axe but be careful when using it against those Daemon Mauls. Even on Easy 1-3 swings and your done. Remember do not use your frag grenades. Chapter 14 on Easy is the best place, at the first set of Chaos Marines just sit back and pick your shots. Once you start the 2nd set outside kills those Psykers quickly and use your Power Axe from here on out if you are out of ammo. Do not use the autocannon either.

[top]
Finesse and Fury
Complete a Chapter of the single-player campaign using only the Stalker-Pattern Bolter and Chainsword.

Start up Chapter 14 on Easy and for the first set of Chaos Marines you come across focus on hitting those heads. Which is just about the only way to take down their shield and kill them. Don't go crazy as your ammo is limited and Stalker rounds do not kill Chaos Marines quickly. Do not use grenades at all during this chapter. Luckily the chainsword is allowed and its a decent melee weapon. You can get 2-3 melee strikes in for every 1 swing from the Daemon Maul. Use that to your advantage.

Since the primary focus of the online experience is to complete "Keeper of the Armory" completing it will take you from Level 1 to Level 35 very quickly. If you find yourself not yet at Level 40 do not worry, the DLC Exterminatus will net you the rest of your XP. Each time you complete and weapon or armor challenge you are rewarded with mass amounts of XP so reaching Level 40 is a cinch.

Warrior of Darkness and Light
Play 10 Multiplayer games as a Space Marine and 10 Multiplayer games as a Chaos Marine.

You must play and complete a private or public game 20 times 10 times as a Chaos Marine and 10 times as a Space Marine. Pretty easy to earn because you will be boosting these trophies and you will be switching out with a partner frequently. Just be sure to end the session with someone winning or a draw. Simply leaving the match will not count.

[top]
Shapeshifter
Play each class in Multiplayer.

There are 3 classes:
  1. Devastator/Havoc
  2. Assault/Raptor
  3. Tactical Space/Chaos
Play as each one just once to earn this trophy. You can start working on "Jack of All Trades" but playing all 3 classes in one game. When you die switch to the next class.

Jack of All Trades
Play 10 Multiplayer games using each class.

Pretty easy to do and only requires you do die twice. First play as any one class and when you die switch to the next and repeat. Make sure to play as Tactical, Assault, and Devastator (same for Chaos) and repeat 10 times. If you are the victim in the boosting session this a great time to knock these out while you are bored.

[top]
Master of Arms
Complete 5 weapon challenges.

See Below for the full listing but I will define things here:
  • If its simple kills then its just that, kill the enemy X amount of time.
  • Now if it is "killstreaks" then you must kill 3 people in a row to equal ONE (1) killstreak.
    • so when boosting kill 3 people, kill yourself, and kill 3 more people, then kill yourself

  • Headshot kills are easy- the final blow to the enemy must be to the helmet
  • Multi-kills - there must be 2+ people nearby and they must die at the same time
  • Charged Shot - the plasma weapons must be charged fully and then release
  • Extreme Range - the distance must be more than a quarter of the map

[top]
Keeper of the Armory
Complete all the weapon challenges.

Definitions are above and here is a breakdown of all the weapons challenges that must be done to the 14 weapons. Power Sword does not need to be done but do it up to 50 kills to make "True Son of the Emperor" a breeze. The kill x enemies is a running total so each weapon may require only 150-250 deaths total. Armored in Glory
Complete 10 armor challenges.

Armor Challenges are a different story, instead of just using your armor you unlock new types of armor by using or performing certain actions. You do not need to complete say 10/16 sets. You need to only unlock 10 pieces. Here are some that I unlocked:
  • Win 15 games as a Space Marine
  • Get killed 3 times while capturing a point in The Seize Ground
  • Get killed by explosives
  • Get killed 50 times by an enemy using melee weapons
  • Perform 5,10,25, and 50 killstreaks as a Space Marine
  • Kill 80, 120, 250, and 500 enemies as a Space Marine
  • Achieve Level 41 in Multiplayer
  • Complete the Space Marine Campaign
  • Perform 15, 30, 50, and 75 Revenge Kills
  • Perform 10, 20, 40 Grudge Kills
  • Perform 5, 10, 25, and 50 killstreaks as Chaos
  • Win 15 games as Chaos
  • Kill 80, 120, and 250 enemies as Chaos
  • Kill 25, 50, and 100 enemies in close combat
As you can check in the Challenges menu (press to check Armor Challenges).

[top]
Defender
Kill 25 opponents who are capturing your Control Point in Seize Ground.

Can be boosted in private matches, have your partner stand on any of the capture points you already control in a seize match and take him down.

[top]
Devastation!
Have 10 times more kills than deaths in a single game of Annihilation.

You need a 10:1 ration in order to earn this so create a private match with the following:
  • Game Type: Annihilation
  • Change Map: Any
  • Respawn Time: Instant
  • Time Limit: 5 Minutes
  • Kill Limit: 20
  • Max Armor: Quarter
  • Armor Regen: None
Now have your partner kill you one time and you kill him 20 times. Boom done.

Master Crafted
Fully customize a Space Marine and a Chaos Space Marine character.

I would personally attempt this trophy after you have reached Level 40 and have completed more than 10 armor challenges as you need to change all parts of a Space/Chaos Marines' armor. THQ has provided the answer from their forums because many of us were getting ticked off because of the trophy not popping. Here are the steps:

Down to Earth
Kill 50 Assault Marines/Raptors in mid-air.

Perform this task while in a Private Match. Same set up as if you were normally boosting except the killer this go around will need the Vengeance Launcher and the victim will need to be Assault/Raptor Marine. The killer needs to go to the spawn point and hit the victim with 3 grenades. The victim then needs to leap in the air, once the victim is airborne hold and watch the sparks fly. You will know when you are successful when the killer is awarded the "Death from Below" award.

[top]
True Son of the Emperor
Kill 40,000 enemies in the game (all game modes combined).

First grab a piece of paper to keep track of how many kills you have. I suggest the following loadout:
  • Assault
  • Close Combat Weapon: Power Sword/Chainsword
  • Pistol: Plasma
  • Special Equipment: Grenades
  • Primary Perk: Swordsman/Power Swordsman Zeal
    • this perk allows you to regain health for each successful melee strike. So using an assault marine and his melee weapon against easy Orks means entirely invincible.

  • Secondary Perk: Sure Strike
Now with this loadout select Exterminatus Private--> Mission: Kalkys Facility Escape--> Arena 1. That's all we need to worry about. Now deploy and start killing. The big thing is when you are dead either in Area 1 or Area 2 you SHOULD NOT RESTART. Exit out of your game, record your score on a piece of paper. Keep repeating this and in about 1-2 afternoons you'll have this trophy and the plat.
