[top]Overview

Players: 1 player game, and can play against another player online.
Online Trophies: 9 muliplayer online trophies
Cheat Codes: No cheats that I know of.
Estimated Time to Platinum: 10 hours
Minimum Playthroughs: 2 playthroughs for each level (an approximation)
Collectible Trophies: Yes (3 trophy parts in mostly all levels)
Missable Trophies: None (there is chapter select)
Glitched Trophies: There are glitches to this game, but they mostly interfere with gameplay, not trophies.

[top]Roadmap

Step 1: Online

Usually you would save the online for last, but i reccomend you play this first. Online is great because you can get used to all the monsters, types of buildings, and types of zombies, which are all unlocked and ready for you to play around with. Another good reason is so you can play against other experienced users, which teach you the right way to use units, or you could run into a new user like yourself, which might end in a easy win for you.

If you need tips or stratigies, go to that section for some pointers.

Step 2: Single player- first playthrough

Play through the games levels, taking your time to capture every house, kill every human or zombie, and just be careful. This game has check points so you don't really have to be afraid of dying, but since you have experience from online, you will know certain tips that keep you alive longer. Try to search the maps, looking for all trophy pieces. Once you beat the game, congrats! Now for the second playthrough...

Step 3: Single player- Second playthrough

Your goal for this playthrough is to fulfill the challeges of all the levels. Each level has 5 challenges (which can be reviewed by going to that chapter in chapter select), and you probably unlocked one or two of them already. You can always use the chapter select to skip to a level, but chances are you didnt get all 5 challenges from a level (mostly because they are hidden till after you complete the level). Since you played through this game once, you have a bit more experience on what needs to be done in any given level, and the layout of the level. Your most likely missing the "finish level in ____ time" or the "go through the level without using _____ type of zombie"

Step 4: Clean up

This step is to finish off any trophies you missed. What mode to play in would depend on the trophy your going for. If its a grinding ______ number of enemies, i would go to online, as i found it easier for me there.

If its a dead rush trophy, i found the levels in story mode to be easier.

Like any guide I have written, if there is anything missing or you have an easier method, feel free to PM or email me (c.real.killer@hotmail.com). I will be sure to update anything i need to or give credit where it is due.

Game images can be modified if you let me know i can draw in landmarks. Let me know.

[top]Online strategies

Basic info (read before playing):
  • Don't use your mobile spawn to attack anything that can retaliate. The mobile spawn is the only thing that cannot regenerate its health, so taking damage means you will be stuck at that low health for the remainder of that game
  • Keep your mobile spawn within range of your units if possible. While your units fall, their ranks will be replaced if they are within range
  • Take down as many houses as you can while waiting. Your units should all have something to attack, unless your moving to a safe spot
  • Use your dead rush. Even if you don't have many, using it at the start of the game can double the amount ready to use next time
  • Each zombie has a specialty. Hardware zombies damage buildings faster. Samurai zombies are fast strong attackers. Garbage zombies have a decent range. Scout zombies can regenerate health and hide. Boxing zombies can stun enemies, which is good for support.
  • Use your monsters. They respawn like any other unit, so don't be afraid to send them in alone. Also, they regenerate health too, so feel free to retreat
  • If a redneck or building is attacking a unit, canceling your attack will mean it stops countering. Sometimes take a small break to recharge
  • Time is important. The sooner you upgrade your units and send a attack, the more of an advantage you have

Defeat Bearhug with 75% health or more

Difficult trophy!

Near the end of chapter 4, you will take control of Skidmark, the monstrosity on wheels in a boss fight against Bearhug.

Before starting this fight, make sure to level Skidmark to level 4, to get all his abilities and raise his attack.

When the fight starts, you want to use your rush attack to knock Bearhug off his platform. Send your monster to attack him, but once he starts standing up, get back so your not stunned

(When Bearhug does his butt slam attack, it stuns you as well as gives some damage.)

After a while he wil throw beartraps, which are easy to dodge. Also, when you do a rush attack, you take half the damage, so you still can rush through the traps and still make it to the end with enough health

After a bit of rounds, Bearhug's health will go to yellow, and he will go to the north to give a small animation.

Second round of this fight, do the same thing, but be ready to dodge his car attacks as well. He may jump around a bit, so wait till he stops moving to attack. Sooner or later, he will stay to attack you after you knock him down.

At that time, use your scream attack to stun him, and your waka waka attack (its a quicker attack and does more damage than your regular attack). When his health turns red, he will go back north to do another animation.

THis last stretch, it will be the same thing, with the addition that he will throw objects in a large area. Again just remember that inbetween the items he throws will be spaces which makes it possible to take no damage.

TIPS: In the last round, there will be some blue zombies released. If you can dodge long enough to get to them, they can heal you a bit. Its random as far as i can tell, so good luck.

When the battle finishes, if you have enough health, the trophy is yours

Looking for Trouble
Complete chapter 6 without deactivating Braintrust

Your goal is to play chapter 6 without taking your mobile spawner to the satellite, located in the center of the map.

From the start, clear away the slime and head north. From there, clear off the enemies and move your mobile spawn right next to braintrust (this will make it easier to dodge. Keep your mobile spawner moving, especially when Braintrust is attacking. Because his attack is slow, you should be able to move out of the way if your paying attention. Also, even when hit with the attack, you can still move out of the way. Just try to hold onto as much health as you can.

Anyway, attack houses and if this is your second playthrough, use your dead rush to attack the spawn points (there are 4 zombie spawn points and 3 soldier spawn points.) With these unlimited spawns out of the way, you should be able to hold onto your health.

As this mission requires you to finish the chapter without deactivating the malfunctioning Braintrust, Speed will be helpful in this trophy. Try to find the hardware store for a group of hardware zombies, and one group of samurai zombies, to take out the enemies (the green dead rush zombies are easy to kill, its the boxers and samurai that you need to worry about.)

If this is your second playthrough, you will have the advantage of knowing where the unlimited spawn points are, where the buildings are, and lastly experience to know what type of enemy will be showing up next.

Good luck

During chapter 7, this is the opposite of a challenge.

There will be 3 cooling buildings and 1 main nuclear power plant. Your objective is to destroy the main power plant without destroying the cooling plants.

Once you start the level, proceed to capture the buildings until you need neaclear zombies. Make one group of scout zombies, and the other group of nuclear zombies. Use the group to clear the area of nuclear waste, and camp your mobile spawn in front of the nuclear building. Send your scout zombies off and capture houses on the lower right corner.

With your dead rush zombies to destroy the red neck spawn trucks (there are 4, one south middle, one lower right, one middle left, and one upper right.

Capture houses on the north side, and once you have about 30 dead rush zombies, send them in to attack the power plant, while you get your monster and zombies close by. send your monster in to kill rednecks, while your nuclear zombies attack the plant and your scout zombies hide near it.

Hopefully you have time left, because it will take another attack to destroy the plant.

You can also change your nuclear zombies into hardware zombies, which will make their attacks more damaging, or turn them into samurai zombies, which will make them more helpful against rednecks.

When i played, i had lots of time, so you should have ample time.

Just a Scratch
Defeat Albotenstein with 75% health or more

This is the boss fight at the end of chapter 8, one of the easiest boss fights of this game

Your controlling Brainhov with Tycoon in his arms. These two, as one unit, are useless as far as attacks go. Instead, you dodge and walk onto buttons, brining hoards of zombies up to help you defeat this boss.

The boss has a few attacks, each can be predicted.

First attack is a eye gaze, which is slow but will follow you. He will lean forward as if he is looking at you, and his 2 eye beams will meet on the ground, and follow you. This attack won't last long, and if your on one side of the map go to the opposite before this attack even starts

His next attack is a laser slice, which is like the eye gaze, but there will be a line in the ground, and shortly after there will be flames. The start of the game there won't be alot, but later on there will be more slices to deal with in a row. Again, just move to the larger area, and if your on the line just side step to safety.

After the boss gets enough damage taken, he will do a electric barrier, which destroys all monsters close to him (cleans out all the zombies you summoned). Then he will send a bunch of missles to destroy the right or left side, making your area smaller. This attack is easy to read because its after he takes damage, and if your in the center you won't be in any danger

he also has a missle barrage attack, which is targetting an area around a button. This is easy to dodge, because when you see the circles that show where the missle will hit, you have already hit the button and walk inbetween the circles to take no damage.

For this trophy, it is easier to boost it than get it naturally, since online the strategy requires you get the type of units you need and be the first one to have an offensive.

When your in the lobby and waiting for a opponent, set up a new message, filling in the subject (what i put is "working for trophies", and waiting for the opponents name to pop up so you can input their name and send it quickly. When the game starts, you cannot find out the opponents name, so that few seconds their name is on the screen, type it in quickly.

Or if you would like to boost, go to Boosting Thread.

Once you have a user willing to boost it with you, have your units at max number and attack the 5 different types of buildings (Warehouse, Nuclear plant, Flower shop, Samurai movie theater, and Boxing/Kickboxing gym)

I would recommend keeping one group as hardware zombies, and having the second group transform into all the different types of zombies.

First, you will need to make sure your in the Tycoon faction

Once you have a user willing to boost it with you, have your units at max number and attack the houses. This will take at least 20 houses, but you should pick up as many as you can. To speed it up, get about 4 zombies for a dead rush and target a house near other houses.

For this trophy, you will need your boosting partners help. Your monster can gain experience by attacking buildings, humans, and the zombies of your opponent. Things that give the most exp are rednecks and the opponents monster.

Have your oppoenent send their monster to your spawning area, while you use all units to attack houses. As soon as the house goes neautral, have your monster gather the exp and then move to the next house. You can have your other units attack the buildings or monsters, but the experience is just from your monster attacking it once. With that said, i think you get more exp if your monster attacked the whole time.

Anyway keep gathering experience for your monster while you wait for the enemy to send over their monster. After you get to level 4, use all the abilities and finish that match. Do this for each monster (4 different monsters all together) and trophy will pop

NOTE: you can get "Versatile" at the same time as this trophy

[top]
Rough & Tough!
Kill a redneck in multiplayer

Online multiplayer trophy

Once you start the match, maximize your numbers by attacking houses and letting your mobile spawn "spawn" zombies. Once your units groups are full, locate your nearest redneck. I will post a map so your able to study it somewhat.

Unlike in the story mode, these rednecks are strong. Start the attack with your zombie groups, keeping your mobile spawn within range so the defeated ones get replaced. Use your monster to attack, moving them away temporarily before they die so they can regenerate. You also want to have your mobile spawn attack from the start, again moving it away if the redneck actually targets it. Use your dead rush zombies if you like.

Because there are so many units attacking it, the redneck will attack a single unit, so if it starts to target your monster or mobile spawn, move those so it goes back to a zombie, which are replaceable.

The redneck is capable of killing your mobile spawn, so just be careful of that. Also, if your mobile spawn doesn't attack from the start, the redneck will kill all your zombies and target your mobile spawn.

Also be wary because the enemy might find you and attack your units before you finish off the redneck.

Grinding Trophy

This is a cumulative trophy, meaning it keeps track of your progress from all playthroughs and online matches. For this trophy, you just need to kill 100 humans. These include running townspeople, shy police, angry military, and tough rednecks.

I got this during the first chapter, but if you didn't get it during that chapter, you will get it in chapter 2 or 3. Don't even worry about this, as you will get it naturally. Or, you can replay chapter 1, which has alot of running townspeople. You can also get to a check point, kill the humans, and die so you restart at the checkpoint. Don't really need to do this though.

Grinding Trophy

This is a cumulative trophy, meaning it keeps track of your progress from all playthroughs and online matches. For this trophy, you just need to kill 500 humans. These include running townspeople, shy police, angry military, and tough rednecks.

Brainhov's Retaliation
Kill 500 shambling zombies

Shambling zombies are the green, slow moving zombies from the Tycoon faction.

Although the kills you get from story mode and multiplayer mode count, i would reccomend you do this in multiplayer. The good thing is 70% of the time the other user will use the Tycoon faction.

When you play against a opponent that uses the Tycoon faction, use braintrust and put it close to the opponents mobile spawn. Hopefully he can destroy it quickly, and send his dead rush zombies to kill it. Once it self destructs, it should kill all the dead rush zombies, giving you a large amount of kills. Keep doing this till you either win the match or lose it. Keep doing this over and over again, which would be the fastest way

IF you do want to try doing this in story mode, go to chapter ___, get past a check point and kill more. Rinse and repeat.

Use all abilities of each Monster at least once
