[top]Tips & Strategies

Whenever you resume your game, make sure to check the difficulty, as the game can sometimes reset it when you load a save file.

The "Blue Room Glitch" still works, so make sure to take advantage of it.

Cheats do not affect trophies, so feel free to use them.

Weapon Kill Trophies:
With a few exceptions (the Dragon Sniper, and the M79 come to mind), you should be able to earn all Weapon-related trophies via natural play. In the respective trophy descriptions below I've listed when each weapon becomes available and, if necessary, when you should aim to be done with them.

Skips:
A quick search on YouTube for "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune Speed Run" will turn up all sorts of crazy completion times that involve skipping certain stages, and even entire chapters, using a variety of methods. When attempting the speed-run trophies, please keep in mind that using ANY exploit-type skips (map clipping, etc.) will cause the timer to bug out, preventing you from earning these trophies.

Kill Farming:
There are two kinds of kill-related trophies: total kills, and kill streaks. The former can be farmed by simply restarting checkpoints over and over; if you wish to farm the latter, however, you must make a save file before you start, and then constantly reload that save each time you want to refresh the enemy spawns.

Tweak Glitch:
Normally to use Tweaks during a playthrough on a certain difficulty, you must first beat the game legit on that difficulty (i.e. if you want to use Tweaks on Hard, you have to beat the game on Hard first). There is, however, a glitch that you can exploit that will allow you to use Tweaks during a playthrough one difficulty greater than you have completed (i.e. beat the game on Hard, but use Tweaks on Crushing).

For the sake of example, let's say you've beaten the game on Hard, and you want to make your Crushing playthrough a little easier. Here's how it's done:
  1. Beat the game on Hard.
  2. Start a new game on Crushing.
  3. Pause your game and change the difficulty back down to Hard. Press to exit.
  4. At this point a prompt will appear on your screen, telling you that the game is going to restart your checkpoint. Press to ignore it and resume gameplay.
  5. Pause your game again, then go to Bonuses and Tweaks. Enable all the Tweaks you want.
  6. Without exiting the Pause menu, change the difficulty back to Crushing.
  7. Once again, the prompt about restarting the checkpoint will appear. Press to ignore it.

Note: this same glitch can be used to activate Tweaks on Brutal after beating Crushing.

[top]Roadmap

Step 1 - Prep
From the Main menu, go to options and enable Photo Mode. This is disabled by default, and you can disable it again once you've obtained Shoot Some B-Roll For Elena .

Step 2 - Crushing Playthrough feat. Treasures
The Crushing difficulty is now unlocked from the beginning, so you might as well start there. Along the way, make sure to collect as many treasures as you can.

Step 3 - Speed-runs
Once you've beaten the game, it's time to lace-up your running shoes and dive into the Speed-run trophies. From the Main menu, go to Chapter Select, choose the appropriate chapter, then pick 'Practice Speed Run'.

Step 4 - Clean-up
All that should remain at this point is a handful of weapon/kill-streak trophies, and possibly some treasures you missed in Crushing run. Use chapter and Tweaks to clean these up.

Unlike the original release, Crushing difficulty is available from the start - you do not need to unlock it by beating the game on Hard.
To earn this trophy you must complete the game on Crushing, without altering the difficulty at any point.

Note: completing your first playthrough on Crushing will unlock the other three difficulty-related trophies.

250 Headshots
Defeat 250 Enemies with Headshots

Headshots are tallied across all chapters and playthroughs, but you should be able to get this over the course of a single playthrough. Obviously whether or not you dome enemies is entirely dependent on your skill, but I personally found it easiest to hit Headshots with Pistols.

[top]
Headshot Expert
Kill 5 Enemies in a Row with Headshots

The description says it all: get 5 Headshot kills in a row. It doesn't really matter where you do this, or with what weapon, though my preference is certainly for any of the Pistols, as they're usually a guaranteed OHK on the Headshot.

If you somehow manage to complete a playthrough without earning this trophy, the easiest place to achieve this is Chapter 1. Simply ignore the tutorial prompts on the screen and headshot enemies until the trophy pops.

Brutal Expert
Kill 5 Enemies in a Row with Brutal Combo

If you don't manage to unlock this during your regular playthrough, the best spot to knock this out is Chapter 1. Simply perform 5 Brutal combos in a row and this trophy will pop.

Triple Dyno-Might!
Kill 3 Enemies with 1 Explosion

See Dyno-Might Master .

[top]
Dyno-Might Master
Kill 3 Enemies with 1 Explosion 5 Times

You'll have a number of opportunities to earn this trophy throughout your playthrough, so long as you use all the tools at your disposal - remember, you can use grenades, the M79 Launcher, or explosive barrels to get these kills.

If you make it through the game without earning this, the easiest place to farm explosive multi-kills is at the end of Chapter 4, right where you'd collect Treasure #17 - Silver Bird Vessel.

Clear out the first wave of enemies, then pick up the M79 from the dead guy on top of the ruins. Once you climb up here, about 4-5 enemies will enter the area and start running through the maze of spike traps towards you. Wait for them to bunch up, shoot in the center of them, then suicide or reload the checkpoint and repeat as necessary.

[top]
Hangman
Kill 20 Enemies with Gunfire While Hanging

The best place to earn this, as well as Grenade Hangman , is in Chapter 4. There are about a dozen different ledges located near clusters of enemies that you can hang from and get kills, so whenever you find one that you like, use it, then restart the checkpoint and farm as required.

Grenade Hangman
Kill 10 Enemies with Grenades While Hanging

See Hangman .

[top]
Run-and-Gunner
Kill 20 Enemies by Shooting from the Hip (without aiming)

For the most part you'll want to avoid hip-firing weapons - mostly because it's not very accurate, but also because you should really be aiming for the head (it's more efficient, and you need 250 of them). The best time to go for hip-fire kills is whenever you have the Mos-12 Shotgun. The combination of the weapon's high auto-aim and wide spread make hip-firing it a legitimate strategy. Simply run at enemies, aim in their general direction, then pull the trigger when you're within range.

[top]
Steel Fist
Kill 5 Enemies with a Single Punch After Weakening Them with Gunfire

See Steel Fist Expert .

[top]
Steel Fist Expert
Kill 10 Enemies in a Row with a Single Punch After Weakening Them with Gunfire

The "One-shot/Punch" combo is a really effective way of dealing with low-level enemies, especially in the early stages of the game. To pull off a Steel Fist kill, run at an enemy with a Pistol equipped, then hip-fire at them and follow up with a single punch. To earn this trophy, you need to perform 10 Steel Fist kills in a row.

If you don't manage to do this in your main playthrough, the best place to farm these kills is in Chapter 1. Kill the first 4-5 enemies with the Steel Fist combo, then allow yourself to be killed and repeat as necessary.

[top]
Master Ninja
Kill 50 Enemies by Melee-Attacking from Behind

This is slightly harder to earn now than it was in the original release, because Bluepoint seem to have forgotten to include the stealth animations, meaning you can no longer silently sneak up behind enemies. Don't fret, though, it's still very much doable. To pull off a successful stealth kill, approach an enemy from behind and, once you're close enough, press , resulting in a OHK.

If you don't earn this during your main playthrough, the best place to farm stealth kills is in Chapter 3, right after you escape from Gabriel Roman's men and reunite with Elena. The very first enemy you encounter will always have his back to you, practically begging you to snap his neck. As soon as you get the kill, pause the game and restart the checkpoint. Do this as required.

[top]
Survivor
Kill 75 Enemies in a Row Without Dying

This trophy sounds more difficult than it is, especially when I'm advising that you attempt to earn all trophies during a Crushing playthrough. A combination of well-chosen cover and high mobility will serve you well. Other than that, it's really on you to earn this.

If you don't manage to earn it during your main playthrough, the best place to farm kills is in Chapter 17, during the section where you're trapped on the circular platform and have to fight off wave after wave of Descendants. Once Elena lowers the rope down, ignore it - so long as you remain on the platform, enemies will constantly respawn, so you essentially have an unlimited supply of kills. For extra ease, go to the Tweaks menu and enable Infinite Ammo and One Shot Kills.
