[top]Tips & Strategies

Warframe is designed as an online Co-Op game, so the best way to play it in most cases is to play it set to public, or set to friends if you have friends that play too.

- Whenever possible, equip gear that is not yet at rank 30 before you log out. Once day, there is a login reward and many times that reward is exp for one of your gear slots. Only gear that is equipped and not maxed out will benefit.

- Exp earned towards a rank 30 piece of gear is wasted, so try to plan ahead. Building weapons and other gear takes time, so unless you are spending real money to purchase gear from the market, you'll need to buy blueprints ahead of time, gather the necessary materials, and start production before you are finished ranking up your current gear so you'll have it ready to immediately switch out your equipment and get the most out of your exp.

- Play in groups as often as possible. Whenever a team member kills an enemy, you get exp from the kill, provided you are close enough to them divided between all your equipped gear.

- Complete event missions often. You are rewarded with credits, manufacturing materials, blueprints, mod cards, and boosters. All of these have their benefits, but affinity boosters double your exp gain, drastically cutting time off from ranking up your gear to get the proficiency trophies.

- You can skip most planetary missions if you group with someone that has already defeated the boss for that planet. Simply have your partner pick the boss mission for the planet and vote your agreement. In this way you don't have to beat any missions on a planet besides the boss before unlocking the next planet.

[top]Roadmap

Warframe is a pretty straight forward game: Grind the planetary missions, kill the boss, then move on to the next planet.

There is, however, benefits to doing more than just the three steps listed above. For example, completing each mission on a planet allows you to deploy harvesters to gather resources for your production needs, alert and invasion missions offer chances to earn large sums of credits, rarer manufacturing materials, uncommon and rare mod cards, blueprints for various items, and more. Joining or creating a clan gives you access to a Dojo (Warframe's Guildhall) where research can be done to unlock powerful weapons and gear.

At the time this guide was written, there are a total of 14 planets/astronomical entities which can be played on. You'll start out with access to Earth and Mercury. To unlock additional planets, you must defeat the boss associated with the planets you have access to via the planetary assassination mission associated with each boss. Not all planets have a boss like Earth, but most do. Defeating Mercury's boss unlocks Venus. Defeating Venus' boss unlocks Mars, and so on.

Popping all the trophies is not very difficult, but it can be time consuming if you don't plan ahead. There is no platinum trophy for this game, but every update so far has included two new trophies: one bronze and one silver each.

[top]Trophies

[top]
Sentinel Proficiency
Reach Rank 30 with any Sentinel.

To get a sentinel, you will need to save up and purchase one of the blueprints from the market for 100,000 credits, gather the necessary materials, and build it in your foundry. Alternatively, you can purchase a pre-built sentinel using platinum by spending real money to buy platinum in the PlayStation Store.

Once you have built the sentinel, simply equip it and earn enough exp to level it up to rank 30.

Warning: There have been many reports of this trophy being glitched. According to these reports, when the sentinel reached rank 30, some players did not receive the trophy. Most players who reported this issue were able to earn the trophy by leveling up a second sentinel, which can be time consuming, but not at all difficult.

[top]
Blade Proficiency
Reach Rank 30 with any Longsword or Dual Short Blades weapon.

Equip any sword or dual sword weapon in your melee weapon slot and do missions until you've earned enough exp for it to reach rank 30. The Skana sword is one of three possible starting melee weapons you will chose from. Here is a list of weapons that will earn you this trophy.

Longswords
Cronus
Dakra Prime
Dark Sword
Ether Sword
Heat Sword
Jaw Sword
Machete
Mire
Pangolin Sword
Plasma Sword
Skana
Prova

Dual Short Blades
Dual Cleavers
Dual Ether
Dual Heat Sword
Dual Ichor
Dual Kamas
Dual Skana
Dual Zoren
Nami Skyla

This list is not all inclusive and new weapons are occasionally added to the game.

There are a few ways to speed up your exp gain.
- The easiest way is to purchase an affinity booster using platinum or, occasionally, some event missions will give one as a reward. This doubles your exp gained for the duration for the booster.
- The next thing to do is probably the most important. If you want to level up a certain weapon, then use it. Exp from killing enemies is awarded to the weapon used to kill it. So if you want to level up your sword, then stop shooting your enemies and slice them to pieces.
- Exp earned by making kills using one of your warframe skills goes towards your warframe's rank, not your weapons'.
- Another way to get fast exp is to join a group. Every kill an ally makes earns exp for you as long as you're close enough to them when they make the kill. If you see little blue splotches with numbers, that is exp you are getting. If an ally makes a kill and you don't see that little blue splotch, then you weren't close enough (unless they killed something behind you, then you also wouldn't see it). This exp is divided between all of your equipped gear, except for your sentinel and your sentinel's weapon.. If anything you have equipped is rank 30(max), that item's portion of the exp will be wasted.
- If you have already earned your rank 30 trophy for the sentinel, then you may wish to unequip it as any kills it gets potentially robs you of exp for your weapons.
- Playing survival, defense, and mobile duefense missions tend to offer the best equipment growth as there is a nearly inexhaustible supply of enemies in these missions.
- During every mission, you will randomly receive affinity bonus task. The task is supposed to show up on your screen for a few seconds at the beginning of each mission to let you know what it is, but this doesn't always happen(about 50%of the time for me). If the task doesn't appear, don't worry you still have one you simply have t figure you what it is. The first time you do what your task requires, it will pop up on your screen; for example, if you task is to get 30 kills, it will pop up on your screen when you get your first kill. Completing this bonus task will earn you bonus exp, normally from 1000 to 5000 depending on the task. This bonus exp is also split between all equipped gear, except for your sentinel and its weapon, once again wasting a portion of the exp if you have a maxed out piece of gear equipped.
- Failing a mission means you get to keep none of the rewards, materials, or mods found during the mission. You do get to keep all exp earned from the mission though, including exp obtained from the affinity bonus, so don't be afraid to fail a mission as your time won't be all wasted.
- Once you have unlocked a Dark Sector, which are controlled by clans, these missions will provide bonus exp(amount varies by sector).
- If you fall in battle and are not revived before your timer expires, don't abandon the mission. If your allies complete the mission after you die, you complete it too, retaining any items you've collected as well as any mission rewards that are earned.

Note: You need a total of 450,000 exp, or affinity, to max out a piece of gear's rank.

Healer
Revive 10 allies.

To earn this trophy, you must be in a party of at least 2 people. Revive 10 teammates that have fallen and are bleeding out before their timer reaches zero. The count is cumulative, so you can do one revive per mission for ten missions, or you can do all ten revives in one mission. If you're doing missions in a group, this trophy won't take long to earn.

If you try to revive an ally that is already being revived by someone else, called a shared revive, they will revive faster. This is helpful to reduce the amount of time your team is vulnerable, but shared revives will not count towards your trophy even though they may be reflected in your game profile stats.

[top]
Our Tools Shape Us
Apply 4 different Mods to a single weapon or Warframe.

As you level up your warframe, weapons, and sentinels, you will earn modification points, which are used to install mod cards. During the course of game play, you will receive mod cards as loot from fallen enemies or as rewards for completing some missions. These mod cards are installed on your weapons, sentinel, or warframe to increase the performance output of your gear. Each mod card has a rank, like your equipment items, shown by the number located in the top right corner of the card. This rank can be increased with the fusing process. In order to equip a mod card, you must have number of modification points equal to or greater than the rank of the mod you are trying to install.

Install four mods on any single weapon or warframe to pop this trophy.

[top]
No Longer a Rookie
Reach Rank 2 with any Warframe.

This will take only one or two missions to complete at most, including the initial "tutorial" missions. When you create your character, you will have the option to choose from the Excalibur, the Mag, or, the Volt warframes. You can build or purchase others later, but you will hit rank 2 on this first warfame before you do that. Once you hit rank 2 on your warframe, the trophy will pop.

[top]
Special Agent
Solve 10 Ciphers.

Most missions will have alarms that are sounded by your enemies when they see you. You can hack terminals, also called ciphers, to turn these alarms off. Some missions will require you to hack terminals to sound the alarm to bring your enemies down on you. There are also some missions where the windows can get blown out causing a lock down requiring you to hack a terminal to close the "shutter" over the blown out windows before you can move through any doors to continue the mission. Hack 10 of these terminals to pop this trophy.

[top]
It Keeps Getting Better
Play for 10 hours.

This one is simple. Play for 10 hours and the trophy will pop. This is a cumulative time. All time logged into the game counts towards this trophy, so you can log in and walk away until it times you out and that time will count equally with time spent killing things.
