Hello All
I thought I would open this thread as a way of getting the communities ideas on how we can not only improve this site, but allow it to grow and flourish.
NOW I DO NOT WANT THIS TURNING IN TO A FLAME THREAD BECAUSE THAT WILL JUST GET IT CLOSED DOWN AND NOTHING WILL GET ACCOMPLISHED
Some ideas I had were to branch out in to different mediums.
-We had once talked about doing a podcast but that got eliminated pretty quickly. I think that a weekly/biweekly podcast could be a great thing where we talk about upcoming games, videogame related news, reviews of older games, e3 and other convention coverage etc. This would not only be a boon for the site, but it could also give people experience in radio, writing, web-development etc.
-Another idea was to start a Youtube channel for the site. This would be for game walkthroughs, let's play, maybe if someone gets access to PAX or E3 they can take some video and post it to the site etc. I know Lasombra is doing stuff like this for his new site and it is just another way to get our name out there.
-Make competitions mean more to the site. We have quite a few competitions on right now, but they are tucked away at the bottom of the forums page and people forget they are there. If it wasn't for people like myself, john, GDT, user011010 etc. spamming those threads then people may never see them. I say put a section on the front page for them and advertise them on the facebook page.
-Make the site more user friendly. I've mentioned this before but it bares repeating. If I am someone new who came here for the Sorcery trophy guide, I might leave after I got mybut what if the Sorcery review was linked to that guide as was the forum to discuss the game. Right now if you go to the trophy guide the link leads you to the trophy guide sub-forum, and from there you have to figure out how to get to the forums page to discuss the game. It might seem easy to us who have been here for awhile, but to a new person they might not bother putting in the extra steps and we lost a potential user.
So these are just some ideas, I encourage everyone though to please post some of their own, and discuss what others have said. If you like someone's idea and know of a way we can implement it please post that as well.
Thank you.

i really like the youtube channel idea. that's actually brilliant. and more meaningful site comps is even better. i've only ever done 1 site comp (that i won by the way lol) and would do more if i would get more than just a silly site trophy. like a psn card or something like that would be cool. that's what the donations to the site are for right? to pay expenses and fund giveaways. truth be told i'm with almost any idea that will make this site better and more like it was before the site crashed. i miss the good o'l days

I like all of these ideas so far. I can't think of anything to get them rolling though. Advertising on FB & putting a sticky on top is a great idea for the comps. They definetly need more attention.
Argh, I wish I could think of something but I've only been here for a couple weeks. Some have been around awhile and would know better. I'll come back if something strikes me.

A podcast would be sooo awesome. I mean think about it. We could have like three regulars who are on the podcast every week and then have a different guest from PS3T every week. We would just need to pick very social people for the hosts.
The youtube thing is also a great idea. Unless everyone had the loggin info then how could everything get posted??? Well i guess that there is always e-mail.
I think that we should go outside of gaming for site competitions. Maybe we could do a competition for who can bring the most new members to the site. Or it could be something ridiculous like who can get the best milk mustache and everybody posts their picture. (I know that sounds dumb, but it is just an idea) That way nobody is left out just because they don't have the certain game. I could see these being a lot more popular.
And whatever happened to the weekly video game quiz??? I love the music quiz and would really like to see more of these pop up

I think this is a great suggestion, as it has happenned to me when I first starting visiting the site.
I have a couple items, but there are more for the layout of the page, which I guess could fall under "more user friendly"
I would like to see the top portion of the webpage frozen (from the top logo down to the bottom of the donation bar), so that you no longer need the "top" bottom, this would make browsing much more fluid.
Also, not sure what others may feel about this, but after the initial thread post, I think the order of subsequent posts should be newest to oldest. Right when you open the thread, you read the initial message and the latest post is directly below it.
I also agree with Doc's more emphasis put on competitions, especially MotM comps.
The YouTube channel is also a great idea.
The Doc has posted some some well thought out suggestions here, hopefully "the powers that be" take them into consideration

Find a way to get rid of the spamming or at least delete them from time to time

This right here is a great example. The site would be much better if people are helping with trophies, boosting, comps, etc. The more people involved with throwing/entering comps the better. I could see YouTube being a way to invite outsiders to the community and getting comps out there. I mean how many places throw comps all the time without some admission?

Total Awards: 21Nice ideas....but you might want to use a different trophy guide in your example...the Assassin's Creed 3 trophy guide not only has links to every single Assassin's Creed guide made on this site, but italso has a mini review, score and links to every single Assassin's Creed Review made on this site

I just picked a random newer game. I switched it to one of my guides happy

But still that is the exception and hardly the rule. What I was more getting at was instead of linking back to the Trophy Guide subforum, it would be better if the guide linked to that particular games sub-forum (that is all).

The spam is always getting deleted, whether it is reported or not and currently it is being worked on to be fixed. K?
Some good idea Mayus, and for the more site Comps, Sub and Broken and most likely some other mods and members are working on this. Trying to see if we can do something once a month.

Shouldn't all trophy guides have some unifrom format though? I know games/trophies are different but why would the links for reviews be on one and not another?

Total Awards: 21The base wiki for trophy guides are all uniform, after that each writer has their own style to writing a guide with their own additions int he guide writing process...Reviews and links to reviews are not mandatory, just something I started adding with the Borderlands 2 guide
-

Could the links to reviews be a mandatory addition or is that asking to much? I don't wanna take away anyone's creativity here. IDK, maybe it would make a change like dr_mayus said.

How about this...getting a notification when someone quotes you in a thread..sometimes you get into a discussion in a thread or a question is asked and you might want to keep checking constantly to see so
