2012 EoY Awards Voting: Classic Trophy Guide of the Year

    Banner provided by dsluckay

Classic Trophy Guide of the Year 2012

Trophy Guides are a necessary hunting companion for all Hardcore Trophy Hunters. I'm sure there isn't a single person that has used a guide that was pure shit and said...."That doesn't tell me how to do anything " Then surfed the web looking for answers. This is your opportunity to acknowledge the guide writers that go above and beyond what is required to provide for you the most in depth trophy guides on the site. Think about all the guides you have used over the past year and place your vote

A "Classic" Trophy Guide of the year is any Trophy Guide for a game that has been released for any system INCLUDING the PS3 at a previous date. Then was re-released on the PS3 with trophy support and/or a HD update this year. This also includes any games that received a trophy patch to an older game this year.

    [top]Rules for Voting

    • All Classic guides that were COMPLETED between December 1, 2011 and December 18, 2012 are eligible.. This means that if the game didn't release during that time please don't vote for that guide.
    • Please post your vote on the ONE guide that you felt was the BEST WRITTEN CLASSIC guide of the year. This does not necessarily need to be on the most popular game as sometimes the guides wrote for those are very subpar, but we won't name any of these here
    • MOST IMPORTANT RULE! All guides must have all sections complete as of the posting of this thread to be eligible for this vote. As the Trophy Guide High Jedi Master I will be very strict on this rule because if the guide writer doesn't care enough about their guide to complete it, then they don't deserve any award. The following must be complete in the guide you are voting for:
      • Overview
      • Tips and Strategies
      • Roadmap (Platinum Games Only)
      • Trophy Section
      • ALL TROPHY IMAGES
    • Guides that are currently in the process of being challenged are not eligible for this vote
    • THIS IS NOT A POPULARITY CONTEST!!! If I find a group of people voting for a subpar guide to get a friend of theirs to win I will DISQUALIFY that guide.
    • You may only vote once, please don't spam the thread with unnecessary posts for me to sift through.
    • This is supposed to be fun, please only troll me in PMs
    • This voting thread will close on 12/21

    Eligible Classic Trophy Guides
I have taken the liberty of compiling all the classic guides that are eligible for this vote in the spoiler below. If I happen to have missed your guide please let me know and I will add it.

This is tough because all the R&C guides were very well written. But since I have to pick just one my vote goes to Ratchet & Clank Up Your Arsenal.

(although why didn't any of the authors link in my Full Frontal Assault guide ...not even Gyro who wrote it with me )

Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal was great and helped out a lot.

I should give nauGie's SH2 guide a mention though. That was well done, considering how long it takes to platinum....

Thanks for mentioning it. Don't forget the complete video walkthrough for the 10 star run.

Anyway, I didn't use any of the other guides, but the MGS4 guide looks really impressive, so I'll go with that one.

While I've used one guide that fits this category this year (MGS4, which was very impressive and well done), the fan fanboy in me made me check the Mass Effect guide, since I loved the game, and I must say it is way beyond the call of duty of what a trophy guide should be. It's full of information, tips, details and what-not, and thus, deserves not only recognition, but my nomination for Classic Trophy Guide of the Year.

Lets see. I have refered to 3 that I can think off this year. Jak 1 and 2 and Killzone Hd. All are well written but my vote has to go for Mass effect. I am for sure to use it once I get the game. The amount of info is outstanding.

    My Vote Mass effect.

I'm looking over the R & C up your arsenal guide, as thats my next set of games to plat, and I am feeling pretty good abou the layout of it... very well written, and most importanly, a breeze to follow. That one gets my vote.

I vote for MGS4 guide. I haven't started on the game, but I have checked out the guide and like the setup.
