#9 Crysis
Easiest Trophy: Marathon Man - Speed sprint 3km
Hardest Trophy: Delta: Act III - Complete 'Core', 'Paradise Lost', 'Exodus' and 'Reckoning' on Delta difficulty
Favorite Trophy: Perfect, Soldier! - Complete all Secondary Objectives
Toggle Spoiler When we speak in Crysis, the first thing we think is the graphics. Crytek made an excellent work with the textures, modeling and the effects, creating a title that never could be made in a console. But the machines had evolved and Crysis finally arrived the consoles.
Crysis reveals itself as one of the most beautiful distributed titles it stills obtain all the experience found in the original version. Without doubts, one of the fantastic elements of Crysis is the freedom that the game can offer. The island not only offers a infinity of enemies, but also vehicles, small improvised houses and an immense vegetation. Speaking in enemies, Crysis presents a vast armory of weapons to finish with them. The Nanosuit, the most important weapon of the game, is a special suit that grants unique abilities — invisibility, creation of an armor, jumping really high and run like a gazelle. You can play as Solid Snake, and quietly eliminating the enemies, or play as a Rambo and break everything what it appears.
Happily, Crysis also has great effects of lightning that make a nice impression and detailed characters as well. Obviously, it is not possible to compare the game with the version for PC, but Crysis definitively is not bad in the consoles. Long times of loading also affect the game, the break all the experience. Finally, the final chapters loose the initial rhythm of the beginning of the game, resulting in linear missions and without enchantment. Crysis is, definitively, one of the headings most beautiful in relation to the games for download.
In relation to the trophies, more than half of them are story-related and can be acquired during the first gameplay. However, it has few ones that give some problems, mainly when glitched.
#8 Portal 2
Easiest Trophy: High Five - Celebrate your cooperative calibration success
Hardest Trophy: Still Alive - Complete Course 4 with neither you nor your co-op partner dying
Favorite Trophy: Lunacy - That just happened
Toggle Spoiler Singleplayer - Portal is one of the best games ever, and it is always very complicated to make sequels for these games, since it becomes almost impossible to equal the same level of quality, but if it has a company that could make it, that would be Valve. The great challenge was the necessity to extend the longevity of the game. Although Portal 2 gets very well 8 hours of game time, they have abused the number of chambers to extend its duration. Yes, puzzles are excellent to complete, but everything excessively can nauseate and I, personally think that there are dozens of tests that could have been removed.
The history of Portal had the necessity to develop more history, an authentic challenge. But also, Valve surprised again. Portal 2 presents us new characters, new lore and back story of the Aperture Science, enriching the Portal universe. At the same time, new information of the origin of GLaDOS and Chell are launched. There are two new characters, Weathley and Cave Johnson. Both got the magic that the writers of Valve can offer. They are excellent characters and elements of the game, who you guys have to play to enjoy. The characters and the dialogues raise Portal 2 to another level. Very well written, with a delicious mood and very well interpreted. Of the remaining portion, puzzles and the new mechanics are, as expected. Very good. There are game physics that can make the player think in different forms of what is accustomed.
Co-Op - It is a totally separate campaign. Has a similar duration that makes that Portal 2 get two games in one package. Here, the two heroes are robots. P-Body and Atlas that are tested by GLaDOS. Unhappily, it does not have much more history. Has much more challenging puzzles, because a great part of them needs not two, but four portals and much cooperation. The best is to play with a friend and to use a headset. You can ask me to play, I'll always be free to help. I have to give kudos to the cross-platform that Valve and Sony gave between PC and PS3. It functioned in perfection. I can't wait to see more of this game in the future.
Portal 2 does not have the impact that the original had, either the charm of the first one, but in all remaining portion is better. Imagine that Portal was a prototype and Portal 2 was the final item, a shining final item!
Thanks to cornerstone27 - For completing the entire Co-op tests with me, and with Professor Portal
Thanks to daftprophet - For helping me with Portal Conservation Society and Triple Crown trophies.
#7 Batman: Arkham City
Easiest Trophy: I'm Batman - Become the Bat
Hardest Trophy: Campaign Gold - Obtain all 108 medals on the original Arkham City campaigns (as Batman)
Favorite Trophy: Campaign Gold - Obtain all 108 medals on the original Arkham City campaigns (as Batman)
Toggle Spoiler I could start off by saying that Batman: Arkham Asylum changed the way that I see games based on super-heroes and it brought me an experience never seen before, serious and epic. But I won't say that, because that's unquestioned. Since the beginning, I asked myself if Rocksteady would be able to obtain a good result with Arkham City. And I finished the game without doubts of that. They had absolutely obtained it. Arkham City is an excellent honor to all the mythology of Batman and until the opposite comes, the best game of 2011, for me. Arkham City is brilliant in it's own way with a completely unexpected history. It's impossible to guess what will happen in the end before reaching it, and this unexpected factor left me on a narrative way rare seen. One of my concerns was that with the long list of villains divulged before the launching, Rocksteady was not be able to develop all of them. Happily these ideas had disappeared at the beginning and each battle is more memorable than the previous one. When deciding to make secondary missions or simply listen to the thugs in the streets, It possible to catch details of the plot and to have a much more ample knowledge on what is happening, and thus aid the experience becoming more intense.
When picking up the controller, the sensation is familiar as if I was playing it all over, the base of the game continues the same of Asylum, however the small improvements make a big difference. The combat, for example, with the addition of buttons for "quick shots" like BatClaw or Explosive Gel, can be used to create more elaborated combos. Obviously the greatest news is the opened Gotham, where it's able to sail freely, and is easy to notice that Rocksteady had a hard time constructing it. Each building has an impressive level of detail. An absurd amount of things exist to guarantee that the game doesn't go to the shelf too early, like secondary missions, the Riddler trophies, etc.
But then the game is perfect? Well, probably not, but I do not obtain a valid claim. It has a lot of content. The controls are easy and the sequences of action are epic. I could complain about some bugs, but whoever played Arkham Asylum knows that cannot wait, and is this what the game offers. Arkham City has made notable improvements with the graphics. The characters are extremely well made and it is difficult to find textures that delay to load. The sonorous track has excellent music, that constructs the atmosphere that the game needs.
Talking about trophies, I believe that these are more challenging than the Asylum. Mainly in the Riddler Campaigns. These are absolutely annoying and some of them are very hard, but anyone who is decent at fighting games can get the construction of combos and variations of attacks, without a doubt they will do that with no difficulty whatsoever. The Predator rooms can delay you a little more, if you aren't a player that can plan strategies.
A must purchase for anyone. One of the best games made of this generation. Each minute is amazing and the final result is memorable.
#6 Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit
Easiest Trophy: Burnout - Fill the Nitrous bar then use it all in one go without hitting anything
Hardest Trophy: Ultimate Enforcer - Reach rank (20) Ultimate Enforcer as a Cop
Favorite Trophy: Ultimate Enforcer - Reach rank (20) Ultimate Enforcer as a Cop
Toggle Spoiler It has some time that did not lie down the hands in a Need for Speed. Not for not having time to play, because I always liked very much this series, but because at the time where it is launched many other games exist. After minutes playing Hot Pursuit, I was grasped to the game during hours, to make races, and after already being tired and saying for me "this is the last race", I've finished for making another race. The intelligence of the adversaries in Hot Pursuit is very good; we never are alone in the race. The other racers fight arduously for the first position at the end of the race. Sometimes, we can't obtain an easy victory, sometimes is real hard. For this reason, the victory in Hot Pursuit is something that really satisfaction the gamers, at least, to me! It is also difficult to finish a race without crashing the car at least a time. The speed that the car reaches is so much that sometimes it's difficult to see our car. Most certain is to always finish the race with the car in a bad state. In graphical terms and of presentation, Hot Pursuit is magnificent.
The game runs without no breakings or loadings, and still contains spectacular accidents and damages in the cars in real time. The sound level in Hot Pursuit reaches the excellence. The noise of the engine of the cars gives so much taste to hear that we press much more the accelerator. Joining to this, there's the band sonorous with music that everybody knows them, and that they combine perfectly with the spirit of the game. Hot Pursuit is everything what a game of this genre must give to the players. It is fast, has vehicles with that all we dream to drive and an accessible form to play. The quality of the game is visible in all the races, either in the single-player or online, and the graphs or the sound complete the experience. For me Hot Pursuit was one of my better surprises of the last year.
This platinum gave some work to me, because it was a little difficult to evolve the wanted levels. But with a little help from a friend - thanks Dare -, half work was done! Everything else, was quite easy to obtain.
#5 Mirror's Edge
Easiest Trophy: Pacifist - Complete a chapter without firing a gun
Hardest Trophy: Still counting - Attain a Time Trial star rating of 50
Favorite Trophy: Sweet goodbye - Triggered the flip-off move
Toggle Spoiler Mirror's Edge it's innovative, where we feel in the skin of Faith, while she executes her movements. The combat is simple, presenting some combos of disarms of weapons and combat. Sometimes, when we can hold weapons, seems like a FPS game. It is interesting to be able to pass the game without killing somebody, but sometimes it's difficult to pass without appealing to the violence. The movement of the character is also sufficiently fluid, with a system of scaling very well executed.
In the game, the combat and the movement of the character are a question of timing. The graphs are very well worked. There are better games in this aspect, but Mirror's Edge fulfills with what it have. However, the city is almost all equal, with the buildings, streets and vehicles only white. The characters are more or less detailed, fulfilling the requirements. The story-mode is very short, being able to be passed in 5 or 6 hours. Also, it has a good soundtrack, well worked in the game. I appreciate much the music created by Lisa Miskovsky, made purpose for the soundtrack of the game. Mirror's Edge is simply original. It is a game with great ideas and great potential that if DICE want to use in advantage, will be able to create a cult game here. I wish that it comes the sequel and, if this will exist, has one better exploitation of the ideas. This game can be repetitive for some players, but it's a game that nobody must lose, even if it's only to try.
Here's a game that I think one of the hardest in PS3. Why, may you ask? Archiving 50 stars rating on Time Trials are painful!! Really really hard! The other trophies are easy to obtain, with a little of patience and work.
#4 Heavy Rain
Easiest Trophy: Interactive Drama - Thank you for supporting Interactive Drama
Hardest Trophy: Perfect Crime - Clean Manfred's shop of evidence + Let Lauren, Hassan and Kramer die + Kill Madison and Jayden + Origami Killer free
Favorite Trophy: Saved the Kid - Save Shaun
Toggle Spoiler Heavy Rain is a game of emotions, feelings, revolt, revenge and mainly of decisions. I didn't decide yet on what shelf I will place it. Is Heavy Rain a film? Is it just a game? Is one game seemed with a film? Is it? a interactive film? After diverse hours playing and thinking on this question, I think mainly that each one of us will give the reply, for the form we will go as it to approach. For me, I think that it is a work of art, independently of the shelf on I will go to place it.
Heavy Rain brings us an adult, extremely very interesting plot and with shining moments. The game starts with the life of Ethan Mars. The life seems to run well. Pretty woman, good job, two healthful children, good house. Is there something more that a man could want? But the life always nails a trick to us, and learns in the worse way that the world is always beautiful for us. The decisions have immediate result. Kill or not kill? Kiss or not kiss? Make or not make? It has two types of decisions: the rational thought and the instinct ones, therefore many of the times we don't have time to think; our instinct will say which the choice. Personally I finished the game two times, and the first time it is the one that more has to see as what I would make. We cannot change the base of the game, but we can change the laterals of the story. The soundtrack is another one of the excellent characteristics.
Finally, the trophies. Well, this game isn't so hard to archive the platinum trophy, but some ones are a bit annoying. For example, get all the finals in this game (because there are a lot of finals to this game) is really annoying, and without a guide, hard! This was a pain. Didn't have much difficult with Kamikaze trophy. Sincerely, I get this after two or three times trying. The other trophies are quite simple to archive.
#3 LittleBIGPlanet
Easiest Trophy: Artist - Place a sticker
Hardest Trophy: Booty Master - Collect all the prize bubbles on the story levels
Favorite Trophy: Play - Complete all story levels without dying, with the exception of those levels that only end when you die
Toggle Spoiler Well, here's a very very funny game. LittleBIGPlanet exceeded my expectations where it touches to an enjoyable and funny game and makes me laugh thousand of times. The distinction of this game to the others is really big. LBP compels us to take our imagination to the maximum, and this is what matters in the game. The chance of being able to personalize, make strange faces, jump great heights, run without being tired and punch our friends, with only one character - called Sackboy - is splendid. The Sack can be decorated as our beautiful pleasure. Head until the feet, passing for the eyes, mouth, teeth, hands, everything can be decorated with what we have in the inventory. Everything is constructed around a variety of things that never will make the player tired. The controls are easy to memorize. The creativity in the levels created by players around all the world, and able to be played by every people is an idea very well worked.
The trophies in LittleBIGPlanet are very enjoyable to acquire, although some to be a little more complicated. Without aid of boosters, it can be a bit hard to acquire platinum. A very interesting game. A game that must be kept in the bookshelf when finished, and to play again with friends. Perhaps, who knows, in a few years I have more creativity for levels, thing that I do not have right now.
#2 Batman: Arkham Asylum
Easiest Trophy: Catch! - Catch a Batarang (any play mode)
Hardest Trophy: Freeflow Gold - Achieve 24 medals on combat challenges
Favorite Trophy: Crack The E Nigma - Solve every riddle on the island
Toggle Spoiler Batman. In my opinion, an epic character. I saw all the movies and I read many of the comics. He's a character who marked my childhood (well, I can't say that I'm an adult, but... well, following...) and it still has a great part of my attention today. Knowing that Arkham Asylum was coming out, it was an obligatory purchase for me. This game is one of my favorite ones, and without a doubt, one of my better choices. A game with a plot above the excellent, splendid scenes and an adaptation of the characters and voices of the movies to the game magnificent. Sincerely, I do not have many words to describe this game. It's simply possible to play the game and enjoy it the maximum. All gadgets of Batman are very useful. One mark in the game that pleased me is the Batmobile. Without it, the game would not be completed. Once again, a game with an open world. And as you may already know, I love open world, therefore, it does not have more nothing to say on this. I disliked a little the end, because I do not think that is a good idea to have a weaker final boss than the other bosses through the game. But I do not go to criticize the game!
Summarizing, a game without comparison, an epic game and funny to play. Enjoyable from the beginning until the end. Certainly, it is a must choice to be played by any player, lovers of the genre, or not.
The trophies of Arkham Asylum are very interesting, and personally, I think that it's a very original list and the trophies are very enjoyable for the players. The images of the trophies are also pretty cool.
#1 inFAMOUS 2
Easiest Trophy: I'm As Shocked As You Are - Defeat an enemy or civilian by stepping in water.
Hardest Trophy: With Great Power Comes Greater Power - Unlock and purchase all powers.
Favorite Trophy: Pain Builds Character - Finish the game on hard difficulty.
Toggle Spoiler As my first platinum, I really enjoyed this game. inFAMOUS 2 is a great game, a good sequel. I love games where we are able to walk in an open world, and this game exceeded my expectations. It is possible to get to the four points of the map, each detail is well worked, and this always pleases me.
I found fantastic the powers of Cole. I always found interesting, since the very beginning of the series, to have an electric super-hero… or villain… Being able to destroy everything captivated me much more to the game. Everything had its own interaction, in a way or other. I loved the AMP too. An interesting electric weapon that offers pretty cool moves to Cole. Playing two playtroughts as good Cole and other as bad, also was well worked in my opinion, because, although some parts of the game are equal both for the two karmas, some choices of Cole and secondary missions made the game a bit different, more original. It is a game that must be played by any fan of the series and adventure/action videogames. It is a game with an involving history since the beginning to the end, although personally to have liked the first game more than this one.
The trophies, I did not find them difficult, although some have glitched. I am not great fan of collectibles, but in this game, these are not so frustrating. The remaining portion of the trophies is easy to acquire.
