About Me:
I'm currently living in Bristol in the south-west of the UK, having recently finished university. I play league badminton, as well as playing football, going climbing, doing circuits... anything active really.
I've been gaming for a long time, having bought my first console, a PS2 at the age of 11. I got Final Fantasy X with it, and it is still one of my favourite games of all time. In general, my favourite genre is RPGs, but I'm pretty eclectic and will play shooters, racing games, Platformers, Sports games... pretty much anything.
I started Trophy hunting on PS3 about a year ago now, at which time I had only one platinum; Fallout 3, simply because I thought the game was awesome. I suppose the game that got me into trophys was Heavy Rain; I really liked the story, and wanted to see every ending, which is of course one of the harder trophys in the game, and since then, I've viewed trophys as a way to fully experience the game; which is why I don't tend to go for easy platinums, and go for the ones that I like instead.
All the games that I own will be listed here in one way or another, so if having seen them you'd like to add me on psn, please feel free, but don't send a blank invite - let me know that it's because you read this
I really love this site, and the great community on here. I've written three trophy guides to contribute, and I love writing reviews although sadly I haven't made the Game Review Team yet

My Platinum Display Cabinet: In the order I obtained them
Fallout 3
Platinum Trophy
DATE OBTAINED: 5th JUNE 2009
My Game Rating: 8/10
Platinum Difficulty: 6/10
Most Time Consuming Trophy:Vault-Tec C.E.O.
![]()
Hardest Trophy:The Bigger They Are...
Favourite Trophy:Tranquility Lane
TIME TO PLATINUM: 20-30 HRS
Toggle Spoiler The only Platinum Trophy I got before I actually began hunting them... A very fun game if you like RPGs, but a little buggy now and again.
To Prospective Buyers: I would recommend this game, particularly now it's down in price. I rate it more highly than the more recent Fallout New Vegas. The story, and side quests are very immersive, the gameplay is solid and the graphics are fine.
To Prospective Plat-ers: Fallout 3 is a relatively easy platinum. There are a lot of side missions, some of which are fairly time consuming, but not ridiculous, and certainly not hard. You might get a little pissed off with the occasional glitches, but you shouldn't have a lot of trouble here.
Heavy Rain
HEAVY RAIN Master
DATE OBTAINED: 27th AUGUST 2010
My Game Rating: 8/10
Platinum Difficulty: 8/10
Most Time Consuming Trophy:All Endings
Hardest Trophy:Kamikaze
Favourite Trophy:Invincible Scott
TIME TO PLATINUM: 20-30 HRS
Toggle Spoiler The game that got me into plat hunting is like no other game out there. I personally love it.
To Prospective Buyers: It's definately worth buying this game, simply because it's so different to pretty much every other game. The story is very immersive, with a lot of exciting twists and turns.
To Prospective Plat-ers: The platinum for this game has a few tough ones. You will need to plan ahead for some of them, particularly getting all endings and 'perfect crime', because many can be done at the same time. There are a couple of irritating trophys which will take you a few tries to get as well.
Dragon Age: Origins
The Ultimate Reward
DATE OBTAINED: 28th SEPTEMBER 2010
My Game Rating: 9/10
Platinum Difficulty: 8/10
Most Time Consuming Trophy:Perfectionist
![]()
Hardest Trophy:Traveler
Favourite Trophy:Standard-Bearer
TIME TO PLATINUM: 50-60 HRS
Toggle Spoiler Bioware's RPGs are normally pretty good and Origins is one of their best. Along with Mass Effect it is one of the best RPGs on the PS3, and is FAR superior to its sequel Dragon Age 2.
To Prospective Buyers: This is a brilliant RPG and I would recommend it to everyone... whichever console you happen to have.
To Prospective Plat-ers: Okay, so this will take some time. None of the trophies are particularly hard, but there are plenty which take a while. I have 'Perfectionist' down as the most time consuming trophy, but you will have to complete three separate playthroughs to a decent standard to get each of the class specific trophies. Of course if you own the 'Awakening' expansion, it's a little easier.
Assassin's Creed 2
Master Assassin
DATE OBTAINED: 30th SEPTEMBER 2010
My Game Rating: 8/10
Platinum Difficulty: 6/10
Most Time Consuming Trophy:In Memory of Petruccio
Hardest Trophy:Messer Sandman
Favourite Trophy:High Dive
TIME TO PLATINUM: 20-30 HRS
Toggle Spoiler A big improvement on the first Assassin's Creed game in my opinion, adding a bunch of new and fun features and an original setting.
To Prospective Buyers: I would certainly recommend you buy at least one of the Assassin's Creed series, because they are very fun games. Although I think that AC2 is better than AC1, I would probably reccomend buying Brotherhood, simply because it's more of the same but has the added benefit of a very enjoyable multiplayer. Of course if you already know you like this style of game, then why haven't you already bought this game?!?!?
To Prospective Plat-ers: In general I would say that this game is a pretty easy platinum. There are maybee two or three trophys that are tough, and a couple more that are time consuming.
God of War
Trophy of Zeus
DATE OBTAINED: 8th NOVEMBER 2010
My Game Rating: 7/10
Platinum Difficulty: 7/10
Most Time Consuming Trophy:Speed of Jason McDonald
Hardest Trophy:I'll Take the Physical Challenge
Favourite Trophy:Totally Baked
TIME TO PLATINUM: 20 HRS
Toggle Spoiler I bought the God of War Collection having been told that they were fun. I like platform games in general, and had I bought this for PS2 I would have said it was amazing. They've dated slightly, but are still pretty enjoyable.
To Prospective Buyers: A very enjoyable platformer, I would reccomend this to everyone. Having never played the series myself, I would say that it's a good and relatively cheap laugh.
To Prospective Platters: A reasonably easy plat, excepting one trophy; completing the Challenge of the Gods. These are a recurring theme throughout all three God of War games, and are very very irritating.
God of War 2
Trophy of Gaia
DATE OBTAINED: 11th NOVEMBER 2010
My Game Rating: 7/10
Platinum Difficulty: 6/10
Most Time Consuming Trophy:The End Begins
Hardest Trophy:Bleeding Thumbs
![]()
Favourite Trophy:Daddy Issues
TIME TO PLATINUM: 10-15 HRS
Toggle Spoiler A slightly more polished, slightly easier version of God of War... very similar in almost every way.
To Prospective Buyers: You'll probably be buying this with God of War 1, so please check out that listing.
To Prospective Plat-ers: This is again, very similar to God of War 1, easy apart from the Challenge of the Titans; although this one has the added benefit of not requiring a second playthrough...
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Is That All You Got?
DATE OBTAINED: 17th NOVEMBER 2010
My Game Rating: 9/10
Platinum Difficulty: 8/10
Most Time Consuming Trophy:Star 69
Hardest Trophy:Star 69
Favourite Trophy:Pit Boss
TIME TO PLATINUM: 30-40 HRS
Toggle Spoiler I've played all of the recent CoD games, and this one is my favourite, as well as being the only FPS in my platinum collection.
To Prospective Buyers: If your not into FPS games but are looking to try one, then I recommend this one. If you DO like FPS games, then you'll almost certainly already have this, but if not, then I think that the two Infinite Ward CoD games are a lot better than the two Treyarch ones.
To Prospective Plat-ers: When I first played this game, I thought two things about it's trophys. I was never gonna get Star 69, and I was never gonna complete the game on Veteran difficulty. I'll say this; they ARE tough, but they are also very doable. Veteran takes a lot of practice, but the frequent checkpoints are very helpful. Star 69 is also pretty tough, but find a mate who's decent at FPS games, and you'll get there eventually.
Fifa 09
Football Legend
DATE OBTAINED: 6th DECEMBER 2010
My Game Rating: 7/10
Platinum Difficulty: 8/10
Most Time Consuming Trophy:The Peterson
Hardest Trophy:Duo-Hedgeidecimal
Favourite Trophy:Bend it like a pro
TIME TO PLATINUM: 50-60 HRS
Toggle Spoiler The first installment in the Fifa game series to feature trophies, Also the first, and currently only sports game in which I have the platinum.
To Prospective Buyers: Take my advice. They're gonna be releasing a new Fifa game every single year, and there is no need to buy it. If you want them, just wait a year until the next one comes out and pick it up cheap. I bought this for about 5 quid after Fifa 10 came out, and then I bought Fifa 10 the same way. They're fun games. If you like football, you'll like these.
To Prospective Platters: The majority of these trophys are fun to achieve, but there are some awful ones thrown in. The 20 player trophy is a complete nightmare, as is the simlar 10 player trophy in Fifa 10. There are some that take a very long time in this too![]()
Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4
True Wizard
DATE OBTAINED: 19th FEBRUARY 2011
My Game Rating: 7/10
Platinum Difficulty: 6/10
Most Time Consuming Trophy:You're the Best
Hardest Trophy:The Bonus Level is Yours
Favourite Trophy:Watch Out!
TIME TO PLATINUM: 20 HRS
Toggle Spoiler The Fourth franchise to be interpreted by Lego, and the first to have trophies from the start. Also one of the best in my opinion.
To Prospective Buyers: This game is a bit of fun. Take to seriously and you won't enjoy it plain and simple. It's a good mess around with a friend, and has a lot of funny moments derived from combining the Lego series with Harry Potter. Buy it for a laugh, but don't expect an immersive and intense experience.
To Prospective Plat-ers: This is an easy plat if you are willing to look up where a lot of the collectable are.
My Game Rating: 10/10
Platinum Difficulty: 7/10
Most Time Consuming Trophy:Still Alive
Hardest Trophy:Professor Portal
![]()
Favourite Trophy:Pit Boss
TIME TO PLATINUM: 15-20 HRS
Toggle Spoiler The sequel to one of the best games of all time, Portal 2 is brilliant in it's own right, and the trophies add a lot to the gameplay experience in my opinion.
To Prospective Buyers: Get this game. No seriously...
To Prospective Plat-ers: The multiplayer trophys might cause you some trouble without boosting, especially considering that you both need to be half decent to get 'Still Alive'. Aside from this the trophies are as fun and awesome as the rest of the game.
My Game Rating: 9/10
Platinum Difficulty: 6/10
Most Time Consuming Trophy:Auto Fanatic
Hardest Trophy:Shamus to the Stars
Favourite Trophy:The Third Degree
TIME TO PLATINUM: 30-40 HRS
Toggle Spoiler One of Rockstar's best peices of work, was at time of release, the most technically innovative game on the market.
To Prospective Buyers: The technical brilliance of this game make it a piece of video game history, so it's worth getting just for that. Couple it with some excellent gameplay mechanics and Rocktar are onto a winner here.
To Prospective Plat-ers: Auto Fanatic is tough, as is Shamus to the Stars, but most of the trophys here are reasonable, and unlike Rockstar's other releases; no multiplayer, so the difficulty is noticabley lower than titles like GTA 4 and Red Dead Redemption.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Platinum Trophy
DATE OBTAINED: 6th DECEMBER 2011
My Game Rating: 9/10
Platinum Difficulty: 7/10
Most Time Consuming Trophy:Master
Hardest Trophy:Oblivion Walker
Favourite Trophy:Hail Sithis!
TIME TO PLATINUM: 60-70 HRS
Toggle Spoiler One of the best fantasy RPGs on the market at the moment. Imagine the feel and style of Oblivion with the gameplay of Fallout 3.
To Prospective Buyers: Being a heavily publicised release, Skyrim is naturally going to have a lot of garbage talked about it. All I can say is, as an RPG fan, I absolutely loved it. The PS3 version has a few lag issues which I believe Bethesda are currently trying to sort out, but the game was enjoyable enough for me to purchase on release day, and not put down until obtaining the platinum.
To Prospective Plat-ers: As with a lot of RPG titles, pretty much every trophy in Skyrim is perfectly doable, but some are just very time consuming. There are a few trophys that you'll want to make sure you don't screw up duing your playthrough; I'm mainly thinking of Oblivion Walker, in which some of the artefacts needed for collection can be lost. Read the guide and you should be absolutely fine.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
All In
DATE OBTAINED: 9th JANUARY 2012
My Game Rating: 9/10
Platinum Difficulty: 8/10
Most Time Consuming Trophy:Overachiever
Hardest Trophy:Overachiever
Favourite Trophy:Unstoppable
TIME TO PLATINUM: 40-50 HRS
Toggle Spoiler An excellent FPS again by Infinity Ward, yet very similar to Modern Warfare 2. Excellent story and special ops; as well as an extremely fun new survival mode.
To Prospective Buyers: I didn't actually buy this game myself, rather borrowed it from my dad. If he hadn't bought it however, then I absolutely would have - If you're into Shooting games, this is the one for you. People are put off by MW3 because Battlefield has a better multiplayer, but I got 50 hours playtime out of the campaign and spec ops. If you have a buddy nearby to play with, you can't beat the spec ops modes; and the new 'Survival' addition is extremely enjoyable.
To Prospective Plat-ers: I actually found the campaign on Veteran surprisingly easy to complete; certainly easier than MW2, which itself wasn't too hard. Reaching survival levels 15 is also not very tough, although admittedly I did it entirely with a partner which probably helped. The toughest trophy without question is completing the spec ops missions on veteran. Some of them are very tough indeed, but doable and very satisfying upon completion.
Fallout: New Vegas
Platinum Trophy
DATE OBTAINED: 17th JANUARY 2012
My Game Rating: 7/10
Platinum Difficulty: 6/10
Most Time Consuming Trophy:Desert Survivalist
Hardest Trophy:The Courier Who Broke the Bank
Favourite Trophy:Volare!
TIME TO PLATINUM: 80-90 HRS
Toggle Spoiler The Sequel to Fallout 3, set in the post apocaliptic ruins of Las Vegas. Another RPG release from RPG giants Bethesda.
To Prospective Buyers: This game is... fine. It doesn't really break any new boundaries, and, as with many sequel games, it suffers by being too similar to its predecessor. Don't get me wrong, if you liked Fallout 3, as I did, it's certainly worth picking up. There are a few new features, and obviously a large expanse of new terrain to explore, but aside from that, it's basically a rehash.
To Prospective Plat-ers: There's not really any trophy here that can't be gotten with a little persistence. Due to the large amount of time required, and the juggling of multiple playthroughs, it's by no means a game that should be bought for an easy plat, but is absolutely fine if you're gonna be playing a lot of the game anyway.
Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy
Top of the Heap
DATE OBTAINED: 28th FEBRUARY 2012
My Game Rating: 8/10
Platinum Difficulty: 3/10
Most Time Consuming Trophy:Maximum Power!
Hardest Trophy:Maximum Power!
Favourite Trophy:Hand Over Fish
TIME TO PLATINUM: 5 - 7 HRS
Toggle Spoiler The first game of the very successful Jak and Daxter series by Naughty Dog. Released finally in a PS3 bundle, complete with Jak 2 and 3.
To Prospective Buyers: Obviously a lot of the appeal of this game is in the nostalgia factor; those of you who played this game on the ps2 will want to pick it up (it comes in a bundle with Jak 2 and Jak 3 as well). For those who haven't played it, the game IS rather juvenile, but in my opinion it is one of the best arcade platform games ever made. For the price, it's worth a look.
To Prospective Plat-ers: The game is an easy plat - especially if you're a bit of a completionist (as I assume most people on this site are). One swift playthrough with a little care is enough to net you a nice shiny platinum.
Dragon Age II
The Ultimate Reward
DATE OBTAINED: 17th JUNE 2012
My Game Rating: 7/10
Platinum Difficulty: 6/10
Most Time Consuming Trophy:Supplier
Hardest Trophy:Supplier
Favourite Trophy:Dragon Slayer
TIME TO PLATINUM: 40-50 HRS
Toggle Spoiler The sequel to the highly acclaimed Bioware RPG Dragon Age: Origins. Follow the semi parallel story of Hawke, a refugee fleeing the blight with his family, as he rises high in a new city.
To Prospective Buyers: Let me start by saying there's a lot of bad press about this game. Many people will downright slag it off, because in all honesty, it is not as good as DAwas; but the game is certainly enjoyable, and if you play RPGs for the story, there is certainly a lot to sink your teeth into. I wouldn't buy it on release, but it's worth a play in my opinion.
To Prospective Plat-ers: Time Consuming. As with its prequel, Dragon Age 2 is a platinum that is for those completionists out there who want to experience everything the game has to offer. The trophies are nicely aligned to show you all the paths, but you need to do 2 and a half playthroughs to get there.
Dishonored
Platinum Blades and Dark Corners

Platinum Difficulty: 5/10
Most Time Consuming Trophy:Shadow

Hardest Trophy:Shadow

Favourite Trophy:Well Mannered
TIME TO PLATINUM: 15-20 HRS
Toggle Spoiler Bethesda's new stealth/action RPG centered around Corvo Attano, the empresses former bodyguard prior to being framed for her murder. Use stealth and superior combat ability to restore his name, and the rightful heir to the throne.
To Prospective Buyers: I honestly love it when a game like this comes out. Okay, various aspects of Dishonored can be seen in other games, but it's basically an original idea on Bethesda's part, and to me that feels like a breath of fresh air. I hold my hands up and say that plenty of sequels are good, even though they basically just rehash their predecessors, but games like this one should be applauded; the tried something new, and for the most part it worked. If you like action RPGs, definately a good buy!
To Prospective Plat-ers: Not too tough to platinum this one, theres only one collectible trophy, and none online. Two playthroughs minimum are a requirement, but the high chaos and low chaos differences between the two contain enough material to well hold your attention while you trophy hunt.
My Collection: Listed Alphabetically
A list of the games in my collection that I have not yet obtained the platinum for. Some of these I will not plat for one reason or another. Some I have sold, some I'm not overkeen on the game, and others are simply too hard... *cough* GT5 *cough*.

Total Awards: 5Great write-up. It was an interesting read. I'm surprised you're not trying to get the platinum on Dragon Age II. Can I ask why? You obviously enjoyed Origins. Also, well done on getting the platinum in Fallout 3 so quickly. It took me the guts of 90 hours, but was totally worth it!

was; but the game is certainly enjoyable, and if you play RPGs for the story, there is certainly a lot to sink your teeth into. I wouldn't buy it on release, but it's worth a play in my opinion.
