This is where I will be putting down my opinion on the numerous games I have had a chance to play. The main gist of this is to describe the experience I had playing the game, not so much about how the trophies are. Originally I had planned on them being done in the order played, but with 200+ games it's probably best just to do them alphabetical. I look forward to discussing any of my opinions with anyone who stumbles in here, as that is my main goal... to talk with fellow gamers about more than just how hard the trophies are.
A Trophy Hunter's Checklist
3D Dot Game Heroes
So I purchased this game for my youngest son and tried it for myself for a couple of days. I thought I would have got into it more, seeing as how much I love the Zelda series. Truth be told I probably spent more time creating my character than I did actually running round in the world. This may be something I go back to since I've become a little nostalgic for the old school games. If you can get past the graphics, you may find a really enjoyable game.Trophy Total: 12/51 (17%) 12
Alien vs. Predator
Trophy Total: 25/50 (43%) -- 4 21
I'm not necessarily what you would call a fan of FPS, if they're in my list my son probably wanted to play them. This wasn't a bad game really, in fact I found it to be quite tolerable. I managed to make it through both the human and the alien storyline. It wasn't bad for a FPS, there were distinct differences in the gameplay between the 2 stories I played. Too bad it didn't interest me enough to finish the Predator story, but I played this for only a week.
I'm not gonna lie, I only grabbed this game because of the RPG elements, I do this alot you'll find. This wasn't bad at all, even though I'm not a fan of the shooting element. The story was ok, you get the chance to build relationships. I played most of this game as sneakily as possible. I only played through the story once, but the way your choices effect the outcome it deserves probably 2 playthroughs.

Hey look, another shooting game. Same genre, same excuse.... my son wanted this game. I played it with him for awhile, and I didn't find it all that bad. It's a 3rd person shooter, which I found to be an easier mechanic to work with. The split screen co-op was fun, the story wasn't anything to write home about. You get to make choices periodically, but it's pretty much the standard good/evil choices. I only chose the good ones.
Assassin's Creed 2
Trophy Total: 44/51 (91%) -- 1 15 28
So I played the first one on the 360 and thought it was a cool experience. This wasn't a difficult game at all, I had a lot of fun paying it. I found the combat to pretty cool, nothing like doing assassinations out of nowhere. I wouldn't call me a fanboy for the series, but it made for a good week of gaming. Oh, and the collectibles were ass. I had no aspirations for platting this game.
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
Trophy Total: 43/61 (74%) -- 1 14 28
At this point in the series I only rented to see what was gonna happen storywise. I didn't find anything new or unique about. Once again it was a pretty easy game to blow through. This was the last one that I played, sadly it just wasn't interesting anymore. Hell it wasn't long into it that I would just pass up flags and shit because I had no plans for a platinum.
Atelier Rorona: Alchemist of Arland
Trophy Total: 1/53 (1%) -- 1
This is what happens when you rent a game thinking just because it's an RPG you'll like it. Not the case with this game. Seriously, this game is boring as shit. I actually owned this game for months on end, and never played more than an hour of it. Nothing happened, it was all story. It's pretty much item gathering, with very, very little action whatsoever. I have no idea what happens in this game, and no intention of finding out.
Back to the Future: Episode 1
Trophy Total: 12/12 (100%) -- 1 4 7
Not a bad game at all. Took me back to my days when I would play Sierra point-and-click games on my PC. (Space Quest, Kings Quest) It was a fast and fun game. Not a bad way to relax and spend some time. I picked it up for free when I had PS+, and if I had the means I probably would have purchased the rest of them just to find out how the story plays out.
Trophy Total: 17/49 (25%) -- 17
I picked this game up because my kids wanted to try it out. We play all of the music games together, and this one had a soundtrack that caters more to my kids generation. This was both a plus and a minus. A plus for my kids as they recognized more of the songs, a minus for me because I'm not a fan of most music past the mid-80's. I tolerated it for a couple of days and then returned it for something else.
Batman: Arkham Asylum
Trophy Total: 36/48 (68%) -- 12 24
This game was such a breath of fresh air for someone who grew up with comics but found their transition to video games to be lacking. It had everything you could ask for, great story, beautiful graphics, superb voice acting, and a combat system that put all others way, way behind them. At one point I did try to platinum this game and I made it all the way near the end to the elevator filled with big brutes, while playing on hard mode. After spending 3 or 4 days trying to get past that part, I came to the realization that I sucked at the combat and would never get any farther. All in all, this is the standard for which all super hero games should be measured.
Battlefield: Bad Company
Trophy Total: 32/51 (65%) -- 2 4 26
Okay, so this one of the few FPS games that I actually enjoyed. It's not so much that I hate FPS, it's that I hate online FPS. It had a decent story and the characters weren't bad, but still if it hadn't been for my son I never would have tried this. Not a difficult game at all, but then again I only played the story mode. Not much else I can say about this game except for the fact that it's better than CoD, but barely.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Trophy Total: 27/73 (31%) -- 3 24
Well this is getting redundant, huh. Yet another FPS my son wanted to try. I did manage to work my way through the story mode, but I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first. Plus with the online trophies dominating the list, I didn't care to rent this for very long. My son spent a lot more time with this game than I did.
Trophy Total: 4/51 (5%) -- 4
The only reason I rented this was too see what the fuss was all about. The whole notion of her becoming more naked the more you combo was enough to warrant a rental. Sadly I didn't know I sucked at DMC combat type games. I wasn't good enough to progress very far, and I wasn't all that impressed with the gameplay or story. Sex may sell, but this just wasn't for me.
Trophy Total: 6/50 (8%) -- 6
All I know about this game is it sucks ass. This was rented for approximately 2 hours, it would have been less if I hadn't stopped to get lunch before I returned it. It controlled for shit, and didn't feel like a game for this generation. In my opinion you should avoid this at all costs.
Trophy Total: 51/66 (69%) -- 1 2 48
Yes, this game may have FPS elements, but I can't speak highly enough about it. I fell in love with this game from the moments you first descend into Rapture. The storytelling is phenomenal, the characters will stick with you forever, and the action is paced just right. I plan on playing this again once I purchase Bioshock: Infinite, and hopefully I can add it's platinum to my list. Regardless of trophies, this is something that everyone should try at least once.
Trophy Total: 42/69 (54%) -- 1 8 33
Man was this game a huge disappointment. I was expecting to be pulled into the story as much as the first one, sadly this was not the case. I finished it because I felt I had to, but I didn't enjoy much of this. I even took shot at playing some online and found that to be horrible as well. After playing this I felt that the series had stumbled hard and I figured there wouldn't be anymore, and if there was I really didn't plan on playing another one.
I ended up taking back everything I thought about how this series would continue. When I became aware there was going to be a 3rd one I wasn't all that interested. Eventually the news leaking out started to intrigue me, it didn't sound like it was going to be the rehash 2 was, and there wasn't MP. I wasn't able to get it when it first came out, but I did manage to avoid all spoilers until I could play it. I've never played a game where I paid as close attention to the story as I did this game. From the dialogue to the music down to the environments itself, everything about this game screams perfection. This is my GotY for 2013, next to Skyrim it's the best game this generation, in my humble opinion.

I got this for free with PS+, but only Episode 1. It's a fun game with some easy puzzles to solve. It didn't take very long to complete and if the other episodes were free I would have played them as well.
Trophy Total: 2/11 (10%) -- 2
I don't know anything about this game. I believe my son downloaded it from PS+ and he's the one who played it. I had no interest in it and probably will never try it out again.
Trophy Total: 81/81 (100%) -- 1 4 17 59
This game holds a special place in my heart. Yes, I can't stand FPS, but the RPG elements that were incorporated made this a very fun game. It also holds the distinction of being one of the only games I played online. With the help of Djunglist and TheGeneral09 I was able to get all of the DLC done and had a great time doing it. The sheer amount of guns you can collect appealed to the loot lover in me and made the FPS part actually enjoyable. One of my favorite games of all time and a blast to play with some good friends.
Trophy Total: 37/60 (43%) -- 5 32
I bought this for both me and my son. He actually finished it while I gave up towards the end. I don't have a reliable internet connection so I lost the biggest thing I like about 1, which was playing with my friends. The loot was just as fun, and they actually improved on the storytelling I felt. But split screen co-op sucks and I didn't have my buddies to grind with. I still may pick this back up again, because it is a really good game.

Trophy Total: 26/60 (36%) -- 3 23
Don't let the small amount of trophies make you think I didn't enjoy this game. It had everything I like, RTS elements, Jack Black, and the best music soundtrack of any game I've played. The story is funny as shit, Mr. Black did a superb job, fuck, it even has Ozzy Ozbourne in it. THe difficulty ramps up greatly, hence I only beat this on the easiest setting. This game is one of the few games that I still actually own, which is saying something considering the majority of my games are rentals. If you want to laugh and rock out this game is for you.
Trophy Total: 45/98 (41%) -- 1 10 34
I believe this is the only racing game I have in my collection besides GT5. Now I'm a big fan of the old version of Burnout, mainly the crash games. This game doesn't have that. I tried my best to get into it but I just wasn't feeling it. I really didn't like how if you screw up at the end of the race you had to drive all the way back to the starting point to redo it, no matter how far away it is. I spent too much of my time redoing races and grew tired of it pretty quick.
Call of Duty: Black Ops
Trophy Total: 33/71 (40%) -- 5 28
Is this the CoD everyone loves? It's the one my son played the most. So this game and all the other CoD's in my list weren't rented or bought, they were all borrowed from my brother. I admit I played the campaign in this one once, with a guide, and collected all intel. Other than that I can't tell you shit about the story or anything.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Trophy Total: 28/51 (41) -- 1 27
Hey look another game I know shit about. I actually tried some levels on veteran and made it a ways. But I suck at these type games and I usually quit playing with my son once my k/d is greater than 1/10. I fail to see why these games are so damn popular.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
Trophy Total: 39/77 (44%) -- 1 8 30
So this game is my brother's favorite of them all. He still plays this online instead of Black Ops. He came to stay the week with me and we st down to play this on veteran. We beat the game on veteran and did almost everything you could do in the single player story. By we I mean we passed the controller on and off after each death. So I didn't really progress very far before I handed it off, and he rarely handed it back to me.
Call of Duty: World at War
Trophy Total: 21/65 (34%) -- 1 6 14
Another CoD, another game I tried to play on veteran and failed to beat. If it wasn't for my brother or my son, I swear I wouldn't have most of these trophies in my list. Sure I can beat these on easy, but veteran is such a bitch.
Trophy Total: 10/13 (57%) -- 2 8
This was something my son had played on his 360. He wanted something to play with me, so I picked it up. It's a fun game, lots of weapons and animals to collect which I like, but the charm wore off pretty fast after the first playthrough. I couldn't get into it like him, there's just not enough diversity when it comes to action or combat.
I don't know how this got here. I'm pretty sure it's a PS+ free game. My son got every free game they offered for however long I had it. If there's a trophy in this game, he probably got it. I can't complain, I didn't pay for it.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
Trophy Total: 26/26 (100%) -- 5 14 7
Don't laugh, this is a fun game. I'm not gonna lie, I picked this up when I got into a competition on site back in the day. Sure, it's geared towards kids, but I didn't mind playing it at all. This isn't even close to my cheesiest platinum, that'll come up later. Nothing to be ashamed of, I think everyone should give it a shot.
Trophy Total: 12/17 (61%) -- 1 4 7
Now this was my kind of PSN game. Old school turn based RPG, with kooky graphics, and what I found to be a badass quest/story. My only complaint is that it wasn't long enough, and sadly I didn't get the DLC. You get to trick or treat at Halloween, collect cards, build up different costumes which you transform into during combat, it really is fun to play.
Trophy Total: 13/24 (36%) -- 1 7 5
I wish I still had this game, it was that fun. It's an NIS game, which means some intricate combat system, coupled with some weird anime story. I'll be honest i don't play NIS games for the stories. I play them for the micro-managing you can do as far as leveling items/weapons/characters. The combat in this one is unique for sure and takes some getting used to, but once you do it's a blast to play. Anybody who loves RPG's would do well to get this game, or any NIS for that matter.
(If you do go for the platinum in this game, be sure to use a guide. There are collectables that have to be gathered in a specific order/time. One screwup and you're playing through again or restarting.)
Trophy Total: 10/29 (17%) -- 2 8
Back in the day I'd rent anything and evrything just to see what it's like. More often than not, the game turned out to be crap. This was one of the first games I found this out on. This game would have been crap last generation. The graphics sucked, the A.I. was horrible, I could barely get into the story. Pretty sure I played 3 levels and returned it for something else.
Now this is a decent game, one that I enjoyed a lot. It plays like GoW, and that's a good thing. You get to run through 9 levels of Hell, hacking and slashing everything you come across. Sadly the story is short and there wasn't much of a desire to play through again. It's well worth a couple of bucks to rent it, not necessarily something i would pay 60 bucks to play.
Trophy Total: 35/55 (63%) -- 2 9 24
Trophy Total: 34/43 (74%) -- 2 8 24
Holy crap, this game is good. It's like playing a cross between Zelda and GoW. The story is a fantastic blend of angels, demons and humans, and you get to play as War, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Now this game might be worth buying, even though I rented it, because it should be really cheap. Plenty of action and a great story make for an epic game.
Trophy Total: 39/59 (61%) -- 8 31
I wish I had been the one to play this but I had nothing to do with it. My son is responsible for all the trophies associated with this game. All I know is that there are zombies and an island. If I'm not mistaken, any of the online trophies were done with the help of bnecker. My son was a really big fan of this game and speaks highly of it.
Trophy Total: 31/41 (66%) -- 3 7 21
Yes, it's a 3rd person shooter, but I actually enjoyed it. At first I thought this would be in my list of plats, but I got hung up with the trophy for collecting all the loot in the game. Even with a guide I was 1 item short after 3 playthroughs. I never did try the hardest setting, but I think I could have managed it. It had a nice selection of weapons, but I mainly ran around with a machine gun. For a PSN game, it was pretty damn good.
Trophy Total: 41/49 (82%) -- 2 4 35
Now this is my kind of game. Sure it has some shooter elements, but the story and atmosphere are top notch. I'd play this with the lights off and the speakers up. It plays like a Resident Evil type, but I found it pulled it off better than that series. Highly recommended to anyone that loves video games for the story and atmosphere first and foremost.
Dead Space 2
Trophy Total: 18/59 (23%) -- 1 17
Don't mistake my low trophy count in this for me not liking it. This is just as good as the last one, but I only had it for a week. I would have loved to finish this and see how the story plays out. Again I recommend it, and if given the chance I would pick this up again.
Trophy Total: 0/38 (0%)
You're probably wondering why this is in here when I have no trophies for it. It's because this was the first time in 30 years as a gamer where I just couldn't handle the difficulty in a game, so much so that I just flat gave up. Oh, and it also led to me breaking my controller. I rented this game for approximately 2 hours. In that time the farthest I ever made it was maybe 4-5 guys into it. And I saw a dragon I think. The first guy I ran across killed me countless times before I made it past him, and then I just got killed by 2 skeletons. Seriously, this game pissed me off, and I have no desire to ever subjugate myself to that torture ever again.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Trophy Total: 14/60 (17%) -- 14
Fantastic game that I wish I still owned. It reminds me a little of MGS with some rpg elements mixed into it. The story draws you in and had plenty of suspense and spy shit to satisfy me. I spent most of my time sneaking around and trying not to be spotted ever. It's nothing too difficult, it just falls into the "only had a week" category. I'd get it again, I'm pretty sure it's cheap right now.
Trophy Total: 39/48 (87%) -- 3 7 29
I don't usually get racing games, but there ws nothing else on the shelf. I actually had a lot of fun and did pretty well I thought. I did what I could in the game, which ended up being alot. I don't play many racers so I don't have much to compare it to. It's better than Burnout but not as good as GT5.
Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice
Trophy Total: 34/51 (48%) -- 34
This is your typical NIS RPG game, which of course means it's a time consuming, micro-managing glorious experience. I couldn't tell you shit about the story, as I pay more attention to the mechanics and random battle strategies. There's tons of loot/equipment, numerous characters to build an army with (I strive for an elite version of each character type), you can level your people up to 9999, and the damage cap is somewhere north of 1 billion points. I'd still have this in my collection but it got stepped on and broken awhile back.
Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten

Another fucking awesome game from NIS, I took the opportunity to pick this up instead of replacing D3 when I had the chance. Again, no idea what the story is about (it's school related, I know that much), but the gameplay is true NIS form. There's a way to invade other people's maps online, but I haven't tried that out, and don't really intend to. I pop this one in every so often, usually after playing something that has a ton of action. I can take my time and plan out every minutia in my battles, it's very easy to lose multiple hours in this game without even realizing it.
Trophy Total: 19/51 (32%) -- 3 16
I borrowed this from my brother just to try it out, and I quickly found out that my DJ skills are worse than crap. Now, I can normally play Guitar Hero or Rock Band on medium right from the start, with any instrument besides drums. With this game I couldn't even manage to play past the third tier of songs on easy, and had to quickly scale down to very easy just to finish the game. Don't get me wrong, I loved the music, no problems with that at all; but I couldn't, for the life of me, get control of the turntable controller and I just completed the game and returned it.
Dragon Age: Origins

Picked this up because I love Bioworks stuff. It's a very adequate RPG game, it appealed to the old D & D player in me. It required a decent amount of strategy at times, plus it reminded me of the old KotR RPG's I use to play. I believe I recommended this once to Beam, but I'm not sure how much he enjoyed it. He loves RPG's so it might not be for everyone, but I quite liked it. The story had a bunch of twists and turns, and gives you lots of decisions to make, which usually makes for an RPG I can get into.
Dragon Age 2
Trophy Total: 40/66 (58%) -- 1 8 31
Of course I had to try out the sequel since I enjoyed the first game so much. Again, I found this to be a really enjoyable RPG. The combat is a little faster paced this time around, and I didn't find there to be as much focus on needing strategies to progress through the story. I was able to pretty much just tank my way through the story and never had problems with the enemies. I even took a shot at trying to find all the collectible bullshit for a trophy or two, but by the end I was content with just killing shit and finishing the game.
Duke Nukem Forever
Trophy Total: 9/63 (10%) -- 9
Holy crap, this game sucked balls and should never be placed into your system. Maybe this would have been cool about 6 years ago, but I played about a level and a half and quickly grew bored with it. I traded my R&C Collection to my son's friend so I could borrow this; I quickly regretted doing so. Graphics were piss poor, story was crap from what I saw; it just felt like something I would have hated back when I played the PS2. I'd rather play my son's copy of Timesplitter: Future Imperfect than this piece of shit.
Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon
Trophy Total: 40/51 (76%) -- 11 29
Yes, this may be a shooter game, but I loved every minute of it. There's nothing like looking up across a city skyline and seeing a 50 ft mutant ant swarm come crawling toward you. The shooting mechanics are very basic but you can collect numerous weapons for each of the 4 suits. Each suit has it's own distinct weapons and abilities. My preference leaned towards the jetpack suit and missile launchers. There's no strategy, and not much story, but they throw tons of huge angry insects/robots at you in every level. You have to play through all 4 difficulties with each of the suits to get max levels and to find every weapon, but it's one of those games that you can go back to anytime and it's still fun as hell.
Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard
Trophy Total: 44/51 (82%) -- 1 8 35
While this isn't the greatest shooter, it's still better than Duke Nukem. Everything about this game is a parody of video games in general. It has no problem poking fun of popular games like Halo and Mario. I actually found myself laughing all the way through this game, and looked forward to finishing it just to see how it turns out.
Enslaved: Odyssey to the West
Trophy Total: 39/59 (58%) -- 1 2 36
At first I was all hyped about this game, but that went away quickly after the tutorial level. When it comes to the jumping/platforming mechanic, I can't remember a game that held your hand this much, you literally can't miss a jump. The battle system wasn't too bad, but I kept expecting it to evolve more than it did. It had a stupid collectible minigame for all these orbs, but I was so disappointed with the game as a whole that I quickly gave up looking for them, just so I could finish the game and return it.
