I am PlatzReign, or Plat, or just simply Cal. If you want to get chummy. Welcome to my Check List. None of my Plat's are particular 'Hard". And that is just fine by me. I play games because it's fun. Because I enjoy it. Not because I love collecting trophies. I'm 37, I've been gaming since I was about 7 or 8 years old. Trophies for the most part for me are, unimportant. To me it's just the latest phase of gaming.
When you've played games for as long as I have. You tend to not get to attached to certain aspects of gaming. I started off on an Atari 2600. Just a joystick and one red button, on a box. Now we have colored controllers that vibrate in your hand. And connect to your console without wires. When I first started off. Multiplayer was playing a 2p game with my brother. Now I connect to games with people I don't even know.[top]c

I love the Assassin's Creed Series. But I'm also a Conspiracy Theory Nut at times. The first one pretty repetitive, to say the least. But I did find the story interesting enough to actually complete the game. Several times in fact. But Assassin's Creed II chopped the repetitiveness in half. And added what I see as the second biggest mystery in the series thus far. Who the Hell is Subject 16? The guy is so cryptic that he makes Mr. Spock sound like a whistle blower. The biggest thing about ACII that annoyed me was. The one thing I just couldn't escape. And that was Ezio's damn voice. Everytime he speaks I want to say "Just STFU already!"[top]c

I use to play the Battlefield Series for years on the PC. It was actually the first FPS I actually enjoyed playing. I never got around to playing Bad Company one. For no other reason than I never got around to it. After playing BC2 though. I'll probably never play the first one. BC2 wasn't bad. It just felt like a dumbed down version of Battlefield to me. And Demolition Man was just an absurd trophy to have to get. If you got this legit congrats, good for you. But I had to boost this sucker. Because seriously who stays in a building that's about to collapse on them?![]()

Bayonetta is one of those games. That you either love it for its over the top and overtly over sexed gameplay. Or you hate it for it. Personally I loved the game. Because it was just so over down that it was funny and fun to play. What I didn't like was that you had the beat the game on Normal to unlock Hard then beat it on hard to unlock Infinity Climax. Which by the time you got to that difficulty. The fun factor had long worn off. Then it just became a chore to play. Which is why it took me over a year to plat. Because I stopped playing it, because it stopped being fun.[top]c

Bioshock has to be one of the best written games, ever thought up. I loved the story. I thought it was unique and fresh. Especially being an FPS. When most have just become almost identical these days. The level design is great. The atmosphere makes the game almost addicting at times. I actually went through this game once. Was it a smart move. At times I thought "WTF was I thinking?" But after you get the hang of it. It becomes pretty easy. I didn't have the heart to harvest any of the little sisters. I just found them too cute. And they were pretty much the only bright spot in the entire game.[top]c

MW2 was well a disappointment to say the least. After CoD4. Everybody had high hopes for the sequel. And it fell way short. And I'm not referring to the mp. The story was just one big cluster f*ck. By the time you get to the end. It made no damn sense what so ever.I can over look the broken mp. I mean when you think about everything that went down between Infinity Ward and Activision at the time. What can you really expect to be fixed. When half the staff walks out yanno. But that being said. N00btubes with OMA. Was not the thing that got on my nerves the most. It was Stopping Power and Slight of Hand on a Bolt Action Sniper Riffle. That just pissed me off. It was literally the ONE over powered weapon and class. That NOBODY bitched about.[top]c

Dante's Inferno is one of those games. That if you've never played God of War. You would probably love it. But if you have played the GoW Series. Than it just comes off as meh. At least that's how I felt about the game. As much as it tries not to be GoW. It's really hard not to be reminded of it. Because you're tramping through hell killing stuff. I've read the actual Poem Dante's Inferno. And the game kind of waters it down a little too much. But they did get the jest of it right at least. You will have to play this twice in order to Plat it. And there is no chapter select. Go to Youtube and pull up the collectible guides. Talk to Virgil until he has nothing else to say and disappears. Other wise if you miss one of anything. You will be playing this again. And to be honest. The game really isn't worth more than two playthroughs.[top]c

The Darkness II was short to say the least, but it was fun to play, which is what matters. My favorite parts of this game can be summed up in two words....JOHNNY POWELL, that character was just awesome to me. I loved how he was completely nuts and always rambling on about crap. Ive probably listen to his Relic Monologues a good 20 times each. The story wasn't all that great, but it was still decent. And playing it on Don was not hard at all, I would say it was the second easiest hard mode next to Crisis 2's., which was literally a cake walk. Although trying to shot 13 bottles in under 10 seconds just wore on my nerves after a while. Took about a good hour just to do that, but the pigeons took two tries total. All in all I would say the game is fun, not a must play game, but diffidently an enjoyable one.[top]c

Dead To Rights was one of those games I rented. Simply because at the time. I didn't have anything else to play. The game really wasn't all that bad. Reminded me a lot of Max Payne though. Just not as fun as those games use to be. The dog bit and frankly the color pallid. Started to get to me after a while. The pallid more so the dog though. But it was fun none the less. I wouldn't say it's the best game ever. But if you have nothing else to play. Especially during the dry season of gaming, known as summer. It'll be worth playing then.[top]c

I started playing Dragon Age on the PC a few years back. Then one of my friends gave me the PS3 version as a gift. Which I didn't mind at all. Nothing like a free game. I actually loved Dragon Age: Origins. Some of the dialog between your party members. Often made me just stop and listen in. And sometimes I'd ask myself "Did S/He just ask that?" As far as the story. The story is good. The gameplay can get repetitive on the lower difficulty levels. At the higher levels, it requires you to use more of your brain. Which is a good thing, for me at least.[top]c

I've played God of War a very long time ago. And at the time it was the game that changed how you played a Hack 'n Slash. GoW is fun to play. Because the only real purpose is to kill everything in sight, and without remorse. All Kratos does is yell and kill people, and God's. At some point you start to wonder why he is always yelling. Then you realize that Kratos is mad. Just for the sake of being mad.[top]c

God of War II. Was probably just as much fun as the original. Although I would have to say that the Titan Challenges were a bit more difficult than the Challenge of The Gods in God of War. I just find it humorous that the Man who became a God. By killing everything insight. You find at the beginning of the game. Bored out his mind about being the God of War. Good news is he's only a God for about 15 minutes. When Zeus stripes him of his powers. Then you off to doing what Kratos does best. Killing everything in sight so that he can kill another God.[top]c

God of War III, picks up exactly where God of War II leaves off, literally. Scaling Mt. Olympus on the back of a Titan. The game looks beautiful. I mean the graphics can be jaw dropping at points. But to be completely honest. That's all the awe in the game. The story is weak, at its strongest moments. The ending with Athena is just a "WTF? Are you serious?" Kind of thing. I'm assuming it was supposed to be some big twist and shock. But it just came off as "Hey lets just throw this in there. Even though it makes no damn sense to GoW cannon." But I have to say killing some of these Gods were fun. And who could resist sleeping with Aphrodite![]()

I played the first Godfather. And hated it with a passion. The game just seemed half assed done to me. This one I rented, well because at the time. I really didn't have anything at the house I really wanted to play. I actually liked this one a whole lot more. Although the whole your a Don but you have to do everything. Was just a little to weird for me. I still had fun. And that's what gaming is about. Performing the execution kills was probably the most fun I had in the game. Something about throwing some poor guy through a window. Always made me laugh.![]()

Heavy Rain people say is more a movie than a game. Me I've waited and tracked this game for close to four years before it was released. This is actually the game that brought me to this site. And it was my first Platinum Trophy to boot. I love the game. I thought the story was good. And the gameplay was unique and different. Kamikaze can be a real pain in the ass. I actually did better not going for this trophy. Than I did when I went for it. The All Endings Trophy is what ruins the game. Some of the endings are great. But you have to do too much back tracking to get them all. And doing that just ruins the story.[top]c

I've been steadily chipping away at inFAMOUS for years now. And when I say years, I mean since it's release date. Yes it's a Sony Exclusive, but no I honestly wasn't in love with the game. To me the game never got over the level of "ok this is pretty good." Which in itself on this site is one step from blasphemy lol. But I did enjoy the game, I like it better on my Evil play-through though. I guess because I really wasn't feeling Cole as a character, s running around not giving a shit, helped me finish off this game. Because I didn't give a sh*t about Cole one way or the other. But I will say the biggest let down of this entire game was the Final Boss Battle on Hard. I was like seriously? I kept checking the difficulty to make sure it had been reduced![]()

Quantum of Solace should have been called Casino Royale. Because it's way more about that movie than it is about QoS. If you've never seen QoS and you play this. You will have no idea why you are supposed to kill the guy at the end of the game. As far as I am concerned. Treyarch should never touch another James Bond game again. Because this one had Call of Duty written all over it. From the duel storylines, to the aim bots to the broken mp. I'm not saying the game is all bad. The did get Daniel Craig and Dame Dench right.![]()

I'm a huge Star Wars fan. So I had to get this game. For two reasons. One because I am a fan. And two to restore hope after the terrible new movies. Sadly the game is better than the new movies., to me at least. It had a more interesting story. Although the gameplay got repetitive pretty damn quick. But it still has it's moments that kept me entertained enough. Sith Master can be a bitch at times. Especially in what I can "The Room from Hell" when you first enter the Death Star. Expect to die...a lot. Although killing 200 Wookies as Vader during the prologue. Was just awesome to me. That's were I got almost all of my kill trophies at.[top]c

Yes I have the Terminator Plat. I actually did this one co-op with my adopted little brother, who has special needs. It was more fun for him than it was for me. I just found the entire game dull and boring to be frankly honest here. But playing it with him. Wasn't about how much I enjoyed the game. It was about how much he enjoyed it. And playing on the hardest difficulty, really isn't all that challenging at all. There are some pretty jacked up parts, but it's a movie tie in game. What do you really expect from it?[top]c

Skyrim was the game I was looking forward to this gaming year. I was literally counting down the days. Until I could get my hands on it. Once I put it in my PS3. It didn't get ejected until after I got the plat. I loved the game. But then again I've been a huge fan of TES since Morrowind. Skyrim is a beautiful game. When you get past the intro. You are just over whelmed in just picking which direction to start walking in. The gameplay is vastly improved over Oblivion. The story is as good if not better than Morrowind's. At the time of the plat. I've logged 124 hours. And still have about 20+ side quest that are not even done yet. The Dark Brotherhood Questline is by far the most fun. The Thieves Guild Questline on the other hand. Is just too damn long imo.The only major problem I had with Skyrim. IS the save file issues. The larger it gets. The more your frame rate starts to drop. It's first start dropping at 10+ hours then dwindles away down to 2-3 hours. Then you have to save, exit and restart the game ever 2-3 hours from then on. It's a pain in the ass. An should be the first thing Bethesda patches.[top]c

I actually played the Uncharted Series in revers order. I started with Uncharted 2. And I liked the second one. More than I like the first one. This one just didn't do it for me. After playing it. I'm still unable to see what made this one so great. I guess because I grew up playing Tomb Raider. And that is exactly what this reminds me of. Just with a better written story.[top]c

I like this one better than the first one. And it wasn't because of the graphics. I just preferred Chloe over Elena. Which probably has something to do with me being a huge Farscape fan. Which Claudia Black starred in. The story for this one I thought by the end made it almost ridiculous and predictable. I mean you knew half way through the game who you were going to have to kill. The dialog and one liners I thought were better than the first one. This one has those moments when you think to yourself. "They didn't just say that did they?"[top]Works In Progress

Honestly the only trophies I actually 'went for' was the lvl 50 and the Deadra artifacts. The others I just got. But those two were the last ones I needed. So I set out to get them. Other than that. I just played the game. Even the one for 1000 bounty in all 9 holds just happened. I went on a murdering spree when I was in the DB
