Diablo 3 on PS4 Will Not Support PS3 and PS4/PC Cross-Platform Play or Battle.net

Today on Blizzards forums, the community manager Vaeflare revealed that the PS4 version of Diablo 3 will not support cross-platform play or Battle.net, so that means you cannot play with your PC counterparts and cannot use your PC character on the system either. Diablo 3 was revealed to be coming to the PS3 and PS4 last week at Sony's meeting. In Diablo 3, you have a variety of choices of classes for you to choose from like in most MMOs. Diablo 3 takes place in Sanctuary and in the game your goal is to save the Sanctuary after demons have started to attack the Sanctuary since the Worldstone has been destroyed. Your goal is to stop and destroy them, so no harm can be done to the people of Tristram. Diablo 3 has not release date as of yet for the PS3 and PS4.

Today it was revealed that Diablo 3 will not support cross-platform play or Battle.net on the PS4 and PS3. The news comes after a user asked a question on Blizzards forums asking about cross-platform and Battle.net support for the game on consoles. In response the community manager replied confirming that Diablo 3 on the consoles would not support either, so that means you cannot play together with your PC friends. Another thing its confirms is that you cannot use your PC account on the PS3/PS4, so you will have separate accounts. Below are the details of the conversation.

What the community manager said:

"While we think cross-platform play would be awesome, there are currently no plans to allow connectivity between PlayStation Network and Battle.net (this is pretty standard for most games that have PC and console support).
"As a result, the characters on your Battle.net account and PlayStation account will also remain separate.
"In terms of allowing an analog controller hookup for the PC, we don’t have any plans for that kind of support right now. Similarly, since Diablo III for console was designed with a controller in mind, the PlayStation version of Diablo III will not support USB mice or keyboards."
