Minecraft Vita Trailer

Minecraft console developer 4J Studios is working to have the Vita, PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game finished in time for release this month.

The studio said earlier this week: "We've handed Minecraft: PlayStation 4 Edition over to Sony for final test.

"We're still bug fixing Minecraft Xbox One and Minecraft Vita. We'll give you news when we have it."

Saves will be transferable between the PS3 and Vita versions, meaning players can craft at home then continue on the go and vice versa.

Minecraft PS3 and Vita players will also be able to import their worlds to PS4, but they won't be able to transfer saves from the new console to the other platforms. PS3 owners will be able to upgrade to the new versions for a "small fee".

Themes coming to PS4 with Update 2.0 (Update)

The PlayStation Blog crew was discussing the update (Firmware 2.0) on the latest episode of the PlayStation Blogcast and 1 hour and 16 minutes into the episode, they announced that themes would be making their way to the PS4 in this update.

They didn’t share if this would mean dynamic themes or static themes, but themes in general will offer a nice break from the static blue background of the Playstation Dynamic Menu.

Now the blogcast is removed and corrected according to “Sid” one of the blogcast crew, Sid has confirmed on NeoGAF that the announcement made by error:

Hi guys – Sid from the Blogcast here, just wanted to confirm that this was in error and the show has been corrected. Sorry for the mixup! We’ll keep you posted on any news related to PS4 themes in the future.

Dreamfall Chapters Announced for PS4

Dreamfall Chapters was officially announced by Red Thread Games to be releasing on the PS4.

"Dreamfall Chapters is a game about choice and consequence, about how the actions you take and the decisions you make — no matter how small or seemingly insignificant — touch the people around us, and how our lives in turn are shaped by the choices made by others," said Red Thread Games Creative Director Ragnar Tørnquist.
As of right now DreamFall Chapters is set to be released this November.

Sony: SharePlay Limited to 60 Minutes Per Session

During Sony's Gamescom Conference, they gave us the first details of one of the PS4′s most promising upcoming features: SharePlay. This feature would allow gamers to pass the controller to an online friend when stuck in a game or join up with a buddy for co-op in a title that normally only has local coop. If this seems too good to be true, well you’re half right, depending on how you look at the following information.

An interview with Sony’s Jim Ryan has revealed additional details about SharePlay, highlighting a time limit attached to the feature:

There is a limit, which is incredibly generous in my opinion: it is 60 minutes.
Additionally, Ryan stated that non-PlayStation Plus members can receive SharePlay invites, they just won’t be able to partake in the co-op experience with their friend.

Another feature is that players can save their game data to their own account, rather than their host's. "You can save your save data to your own account, so if you like a game you played via SharePlay, you can buy it for yourself and continue where you left off." Yoshida explained. "Or, if you get stuck in a game, or there's an enemy or stage you find difficult, you could hand over the reins to a friend for those areas."

EDIT: Share Play can only be used in 60-minute chunks, though there is no limit on the number of times you can use it. (via Gamespot)

The Crew Not Releasing on PS3

Ubisoft has revealed that their upcoming Racing MMO The Crew will not be releasing on PlayStation 3, though it will be coming to Xbox 360. The reasoning behind this decision is that the Xbox 360's hardware is more similar to that of current-generation consoles, making the development of a port much easier. Those hoping to play The Crew on Wii U will also miss out.

"The Crew is originally built for the new generation of consoles so when we made the decision to port it to the previous generation of consoles, we decided to focus solely on the platform closest to the new-gen's technical infrastructure, which is the Xbox 360," a Ubisoft spokesperson told Videogamer.

The Crew is currently set to release this Fall on November 11th for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Xbox 360.
