Three years ago at E3 2010, 2K Marin revealed a game called XCOM, which was a FPS take on the series, but since then it was dead, until today. While XCOM was in limbo, a new game was announced called XCOM: Enemy Unknown, which ended up being a huge hit. With the FPS version of the game in limbo, fans have been left wondering if it would ever come out. A couple of days ago, 2K Marin teased that there would be a reveal of the new XCOM game and even left a picture of it on their blog.
Today the folks over at 2K Marin have revealed the game The Bureau: XCOM Declassified. The Bureau: XCOM Declassified is a squad-based third-person tactical shooter. The game is set in 1962 during the Kennedy administration and is the origin story to the modern XCOM initiative, which we know as XCOM: Enemy Unknown. In The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, players' assume the role of Special Agent William Carter, who is tasked with getting a group of agents together and defeating the aliens in the game. The Bureau will see the return of permadeath for squadmates that you create. The Bureau: XCOM Declassified will be releasing on the PS3 on August 20, 2013 in North America and August 23, 2013 in Europe. Below is a trailer that was released.
What 2K had to say:
"A high tide raises all boats," said Nico Bihary, senior producer at developer 2K Marin, when asked how last year's XCOM: Enemy Unknown influenced The Bureau. "There's quite a bit of familiarity between what we're doing versus what [Firaxis] is doing. What worked to our advantage, it really allowed us to put together a really compelling origin story because [Enemy Unknown] already established the current version of XCOM. It's been contextualized for us, so if we tell an origin story, people understand what we're talking about."
When asked about next-gen consoles Bihary said, "We are currently focusing on the current-gen platforms."

Dragon’s Crown has had a long development process – especially for those of you who remember E3 2011 when Ignition first mentioned the game. But now ATLUS and Odin Sphere developer Vanillaware are putting a stake in the ground for August 6th, 2013. If you’re not familiar with Dragon’s Crown, it’s a 2D multiplayer action beat-em-up exclusive to the PS3 and PS Vita that features four-person co-op play, six character classes, skills that can be leveled up, and all the dungeon-exploring, orc-slapping, treasure-seeking action you can shake a magical staff at.
The intricacies in the artwork are immediately noticeable on both the PS3 and PS Vita versions. Speaking of, they're working right now on making sure that gamers can take their saved games with them on the Vita. So while Vita adventurers can’t party up with PlayStation dungeoneers, it doesn’t mean they have to stop leveling and looting if they have to leave the living room.
The Amazon, Dwarf, Elf, Fighter, Sorceress and Wizard all exude extreme character designs to emphasize their powerfulness. Dragon's Crown will launch for the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3 August 6, at $39.99 and $49.99.
